Weapon surprises at IWA 2022

Review of new hunting weapons at the international arms exhibition in Nuremberg

Today we continue to introduce readers to the new hunting weapons shown at the IWA 2022 exhibition in early March in Nuremberg.

Looking at the abundance of “New!” inscriptions at the stands of arms companies, one may get the impression that these new products cannot be counted. In fact, it all depends on what is considered a true novelty, and what is just another version of an already known model of a gun or carbine. It would not be an exaggeration to say that all or the absolute majority of weapons companies, preparing for the next exhibition, in one way or another update the appearance and some characteristics of their products, sometimes affecting the design of the main mechanisms of the weapon, its system properties, including combat performance. And much less common are true novelties built on conceptually new technical solutions. Finding these new products at such a huge exhibition as IWA is also not an easy task, given that in the hunting and weapons segment alone, more than 200 companies are participating - manufacturers of hunting and sporting rifles, fittings, tees, rifles and carbines, not counting sections of muzzle-loading, pneumatic, historical and other types and types of long-barreled civilian weapons, as well as pistols and revolvers.

One of the most active teams of gunsmiths at the exhibition was a group of Russian dealers

It is necessary to note another increasingly common feature of new rifles. Taking into account the fact that many or most of the technical discoveries in the field of hunting weapons still occurred in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries, many of today’s “new products” are built on already known principles, albeit using other, more advanced materials, technologies, approaches and so on. As a result, sometimes unprecedented, unconventional and even awkward designs are born, often falling under the concept of so-called “alterations”. For example, if you remove the gas engine from the design of a self-loading gun and attach an easy-to-grip handle to the bolt, you will get a “magazine” with manual reloading, such as is found in some Turkish gunsmiths. In this regard, the model A 110 of the Turkish company Adler, a 12-gauge repeating shotgun with an under-barrel cylindrical magazine and reloading with a lower lever (lever action), also looks unusual, to put it mildly. Since the lower lever assumes the presence of a straight butt handle, there is no need to talk about any traditional architecture of such a gun, aesthetics and design. And there are many such examples at exhibitions.

As practice shows, there are never many store-bought rifles on the market and they always find their buyer. The new carbine from the Italian company Franchi, the Horizon model in the budget price segment, with a recommended price of 50–55 thousand rubles (for the Russian market) meets this rule.

And yet, in spite of everything, hunting weapons today continue to improve, becoming more and more convenient to use, aesthetically pleasing, reliable and technically advanced. It is not easy to say how much more durable, repairable, affordable it is now, and how much better its combat characteristics are, especially in comparison with the recognized classic guns and carbines of the second half of the last century. But one thing is true - now it is different, looking into the future, into the depths of new times, like the Blaser R8, for example, the vertical Benelli 828 U and their followers.

Left: this is what a silent shooting device looks like, simply a silencer, made by the Norwegian company A-Tes for a 12-gauge self-loading shotgun. Its weight is 560 g. Right: the Verney-Carron company showed a smooth-bore self-loading shotgun with semi-manual reloading Manual Repeating Shotguns, operating on the Stop & Go principle. When firing from it, the bolt remains in the rear position on the delay after each shot. To fire the next shot, it is manually released from the delay using a special lever and automatically sent forward by a return mechanism. This gun is intended primarily for those countries where conventional self-loading is restricted by law.

That’s why, missing real new items, my eyes clung so tightly to a new model - a hunting repeating rifle with a direct action sliding bolt, Rols, from the French company Chapuis Armes. What if a real Rolls-Royce among hunting carbines showed up here?.. Alas, this was not confirmed; judging by the device, it turned out to be a modified clone of the Blaser R 93 carbine, although protected by several patents. And here the desire of gunsmiths to be equal to the first is an understandable thing, but it would be possible.

Browning has introduced a new over/under B15, similar in image to the legendary B25 shotgun. The gun is richly decorated with hand engraving and is impeccably crafted and assembled. It costs accordingly

Perazzi's line of High Tech sporting shotguns has been expanded with the new HT "X-Factor"

As it turned out, the idea of creating a Rols carbine from French gunsmiths arose several years ago, it was soon embodied in metal and wood, the sample passed the tests, received a positive assessment and was presented at the exhibition. The carbine is built according to the layout of the magazine box under the trigger guard, which allows you to have a shorter receiver and a reduced length of the entire weapon. The bolt is sliding, moves straight without turning the handle when locking. The design of the carbine allows for quick barrel changes. Rols will be produced with barrels of three groups of calibers: 600 mm long for standard and medium calibers, 630 mm long for the magnum caliber group and 650 mm long for the African caliber group. Locking is carried out by the bolt head on the barrel using a collet-type locking unit, made using CLS (Chapuis Locking System) technology, protected by a patent.

Winchester demonstrated a new semi-automatic shotgun, the Sx4 model, with improved design, ergonomics and construction compared to its predecessor Sx3.

The total locking area of the 7 elements is 260 mm2. The locking unit is tested with a powder gas pressure in the barrel of 8500 bar. The carbine is equipped with a mechanism for manually preloading the mainspring and releasing it. The magazine is detachable, double-row, holds 4 or 3 rounds (depending on the caliber group). When opening the trigger guard to access the magazine, in the case of a compressed mainspring, it is automatically deactivated, making the weapon safe. To install an optical sight, the top of the barrel coupling is equipped with reciprocal places for attaching a proprietary patented bracket. The exhibition version of the carbine did not have a mechanical sight. Descent with moderate effort, smooth, without steps, informative. The weight of the carbine is about 3 kg. The stock is made of medium-grade walnut wood, the forend is detachable, the stock is with a pistol-type grip, the comb is straight, the butt plate is soft and comfortable. However, when getting acquainted with the weapon, I became somewhat carried away by the idle operation of the bolt during rapid reloading and was immediately punished - the rear part of the bolt with the protruding manual cocking mechanism slightly “drove” into the right cheek and injured it. I haven’t experienced this for a very long time, and it’s hard to say where my many years of experience with carbines were at that moment. This somewhat cooled my enthusiasm, and further acquaintance passed without incident. In conclusion, I would like to note that although the Rols turned out to be in many ways made in the likeness of the Blaser R93 carbine, it has a number of its own technical solutions and good functionality of a universal hunting carbine.

The new product from Chapuis Armes - a carbine with a direct action bolt and a magazine box under the trigger guard - has a similar design to the Blazer R93, although it is protected by several of its patents

Gunsmiths from the Art de Art company from St. Petersburg demonstrated new highly ergonomic stocks

As for the question of its novelty, several patents of its components and mechanisms speak about this. Again, for a carbine to occupy its place among its peers on the market, its price will be of great importance. Life will show. Another French company, Verney-Carron, showed a gas-operated smoothbore self-loading shotgun, the Velose model, operating on the Stop & Go principle. When firing from it, after each shot the bolt remains in the rear position on the delay. To fire the next shot, it is manually removed from the delay using a special lever and sent forward by a return mechanism. And so on until all the cartridges in the store are used up. This type of gun with manual reloading is called Manual Repeating Shotguns by gunsmiths and can be used for hunting in countries where conventional self-loading guns have legal restrictions. It seems to me that such a magazine-type gun is a good tool for regulating shooting at a group of flying targets, for example, for any young hunter, teaching him to use each shot rationally, aiming at the game, up to certain hunting distances, without reducing shooting to a series of useless shots in a fit of passion or “by inertia.”

Titan 16 repeating rifle with a straight action bolt in the new All-Round stock

In just a year, the Turkish company ATA Arms has improved its Turqua repeating carbine to normal condition and presented this year a whole family of options

After forming such a habit, the hunter will always be able to cut off one shot or perform a successful double on any hunt, successfully using regular self-loading. It is clear that this is more from the realm of the author’s imagination than a real way to correct our mistakes in hunting shooting with self-loading in our hands. This spring, while fishing for woodcock, I again, as every year, listened to a series of five or more shots fired in a row at this small and not particularly difficult target. If it were allowed to use automatic weapons while hunting, we would probably succeed in this too... The German company Krieghoff demonstrated a new single-barrel gun, the Hubertus Max Hunt Edition, in a GRS stock, with a manual cocking mechanism for the trigger mechanism, designed for long-range and highly accurate hunting shot. The barrel of the fitting is made for the 7 mm Rem caliber cartridge corresponding to this purpose. Mag. For hunting in the mountains, the fitting is equipped with easily removable bipods. The muzzle of the barrel is equipped with a silencer (silent firing device), which allows you to fire a standard cartridge. The fitting is equipped with a powerful optical sight C. Zeiss Victory VS 2.8—20×56. Thus, the result was a magnificent hunting weapon complex for the African savannah, tundra, mountains, meadows and other open spaces. The relatively young (founded in 1999) Norwegian company A-TES, a manufacturer of silent shooting devices, simply silencers for civilian weapons, surprised us with another extraordinary novelty - a silencer for a single-barreled hunting rifle of any type, 12 gauge!

The Italian company Rizzini has presented a new gun for truly gentlemanly hunting - a single-barreled shotgun

The exhibition featured a particularly rich collection of double-barreled shotguns and rifles from the Italian company Caesar Guerini with the leading model Invictus

This is an A 12 device with dimensions: length 300 mm, height 74 mm, width 56 mm. The device weighs 560 g. Getting acquainted with the device, I remembered a Russian hunter I knew, a “techie” by profession, a man with skillful hands and inventive inclinations. In our conversation ten years ago, he said that he was working on drawings of a silencer for a 12-gauge double-barreled shotgun... And here are “some” two Norwegians, Anders and Hallvard, with an investment of 1.2 million euros for new developments and development. Well, seriously speaking, it’s easier to discuss than do, including an effective silencer for a 12-gauge barrel chambered for a standard cartridge. This is a tempting thing; it is beginning to be used around the world, primarily for the purpose of preserving the natural silence in habitats and areas where game gathers. In our country, the use of a silencer on civilian weapons is prohibited by law. The Franchi company showed a new type of hunting weapon for its range - a repeating rifle with a sliding bolt with a handle turning when locking, the Horison model, in the budget price segment. The exhibition sample seemed to me to have not quite completed features of a European carbine; it lacked a mechanical sight, and the stock was plastic and black. The fuse is two-position, without locking the shutter in the on position. I remember well the very decent nature of the trigger mechanism - moderately tight in force, smooth and clear. More details about it can be found in the materials of our editor-in-chief Mikhail Degtyarev on a trip to the Italian gunsmiths of the Beretta holding, which includes Franchi. There this carbine was presented in its final version. In our not-so-rich times, a budget, European-quality repeating rifle with a price of 50–60 thousand rubles is always a tempting thing for our market.

A clone of our “Saiga” is now a common occurrence in the assortment of many Turkish arms companies

The well-known company Benelli Armi performed at the exhibition in its traditional elite style and, in the absence of a new technical concept, following the revolutionary model of the 828 U vertical rifle that entered the world, including Russian, markets, showed three new versions of this gun in within the framework of collaboration with artists from the Academy of High Art of Urbino. This project is called The King. Concept Gun 2022 and includes three unique designs: Chamois, Snake and Crocodile. These are, of course, artistic concepts of the near future, showing the potential development of the entire marketing program of this gun. A worthy example of the work of marketers in supporting a new product across markets and promoting it. Perazzi continues to offer relatively new High Tech sporting shotguns in various versions - Black, Orange, Green, Gold, Platinum, Classic, All Nickel and others. In the year of its 60th anniversary, Perazzi counted its victories at the Olympic Games of our time and publicly, on a huge banner it wrote the names of outstanding shooters - athletes - champions and prize-winners who achieved these victories in their hands with Perazzi guns. There are many, many of them, but two things are impressive - the only heroine of this list is the American athlete Kimberly Road and her six (!) Olympic medals (3 gold, 2 silver and a bronze). She is the only three-time Olympic champion in skeet shooting today, including representatives of the stronger sex. There are several two-fold ones, one three-fold one. The second point is that this list of Perazzi heroes includes our Alexey Alipov, Olympic champion and bronze medalist, as well as silver medalist Rustam Yambulatov and bronze medalist Vasily Mosin.

It looks like Sauer is returning to the segment of double-barreled hunting rifles, only with vertical barrels. Pictured: JP Sauer&Sohn shotguns, Apollon and Artemis models

The symbol of this Perazzi anniversary was the High Tech 60 th Anniversary Platinum Limited Edition shotgun, of course, 60 in quantity, from number 157900 to 157960 (57 is the year the company was founded). Collectors and fans - go ahead! It should be noted that the new NT gun - “X-Factor” - also amazes us with its beauty, completeness of image, layout, finishing, technical perfection and quality of workmanship. Perazzi's only current rival in Olympic skeet shooting, Beretta, has shown new modifications to its over-and-under 690 Field I and Field III, as well as Sporting I and III - Vittoria - guns for the ladies! “Lady Guns” is a new trend among the most advanced arms companies in Europe, offering gun options specially adapted for women’s figures. They initially show the exquisitely slender silhouette of the gun, the pleasant, especially streamlined shapes of its parts, the grip areas on the stock of the gun optimized for small hands, and other feminine “tricks.” Beretta also has great achievements in Olympic skeet shooting, as evidenced not only by the entire history of modern games, but also by the specific results of the performances of shooters from different countries with Beretta shotguns at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro last year. They won 4 gold medals (out of a possible 5), 4 silver and 2 bronze - 10 medals out of 15!, leaving only five awards for Perazzi. The Italian Olympic team also did not let down either its fans or gunsmiths - it won 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals and was first in the unofficial team competition. Lady luck, as they say, was on the wrong side of our shooter. We shot from the same Perazzi and Beretta guns... Never mind, next time we will prove to everyone that we are capable of shooting in the finals. The Lady Gun theme was also present in the famous Blaser. These are the company's new products - the new F16 Intuiting double-barreled shotgun, as well as the R8 Intuiting carbine - both for the fairer sex. Complete optimization of shapes and lines down to the smallest detail, the highest grades of walnut wood for stocks, special butt plates, grip points, etc. The F16 Intuiting shotgun has a stock shortened to 350 mm, a pitch of 82°, the distance from the trigger to the butt handle is 90 mm, the butt drop in front is 34 mm, and in the rear is 36 mm. Monte Carlo type stock. The women's R8 Intuition carbine also has optimized dimensions of the stock, pistol grip and buttplate. In addition to Intuition, the soul and feelings of the shooter and hunter are also fascinated by the R8 Success Individual version of the carbine - apparently, this is today the standard of technical excellence, superior design, aesthetics and comfort, as well as the combat characteristics of a hunting carbine. Moreover, note - without a single “curl” of the engraver, strictly, laconically, functionally: metal, wood, Cocoa leather and the work of a gunsmith. And all this - in serial weapons! The Browning company, under the collectible brand, presented a double-barreled shotgun with a vertical barrel arrangement - the B15 model, which corresponds in image to the legendary B25 double-barreled shotgun. The gun is richly decorated with hand engraving and is impeccably crafted and assembled. This is the hit of the season in the class of high-end shotguns from Browning (Herstal). The rest of Browning's new products are modifications and versions of the serial models of vertical rifles B725, Heritage Hunter, B525, Ultra XS Prestige, B 525 One, A5 self-loading shotguns, BAR MK3 and Zenith self-loading carbines, as well as Maral, X-Bolt, A repeating carbines -Bolt and T-Bolt. At the Winchester stand, the famous self-loading shotgun shooter and virtuoso shooting magician Raniero Testa ruled the roost, presenting to a large audience the new SX4 smoothbore self-loading shotgun in the Composite Black Shadow, Field 12M and Camo Mobuc variants. From its predecessor, the SX3 shotgun, the new product differs in several ergonomically improved controls (stock handle, bolt handle, safety button, butt plate), an improved gas engine unit with an adjustable Active Valve system, as well as drilling the bore using Back Bored technology. In general, the SX4 gun is lighter, more convenient to shoot, “omnivorous” in terms of brands and types of cartridges used, just like the SX3, with a “fast” trigger mechanism. Roßler Austria has significantly updated its Titan 3 and Titan 6 repeating carbines. Now they are available in polymer stocks of different colors, and Target Light - Black carbines have adjustable orthopedic stock elements. For left-handed shooters and hunters, the Luxury Thumbole (in wood) and Target Light-Dark Brown (in laminate) models are accepted. The Titan 16 carbine with a straight-action bolt received All-Round-Camo type “clothing”. The Turkish company ATA Arms, familiar to many of our shooters and hunters, showed a Turqua repeating carbine, modified according to our comments last year, with a detachable magazine for 5 and 10 rounds with a .308 Win caliber barrel. length 560 mm. The carbine was presented in a wooden stock with three types of butts: with a straight comb (classic), "Monte Carlo", and also with an adjustable comb. Turqua now creates a good overall impression, it is equipped with a three-position safety, has a smooth trigger release, two stages of trigger tension adjustment (0.8 kg and 1.6 kg), a 60° rotation of the bolt handle, a gas outlet in the receiver (just in case) emergency case), double-sided magazine lock, suspended barrel, plunger-type ejector, locking with three lugs on the receiver stops, as well as other attributes of a modern universal hunting carbine for game hunting. Now it would be nice to see it in our weapons stores and at a price corresponding to this Turkish first-born.

A new self-loading inertial shotgun from the Turkish company Sibergun, the Momento Slug model, a representative of another line of self-loading rifles - with a removable receiver cover similar to the Benelle Raffaello shotguns

Along with a large assortment of double-barreled, self-loading and pump-action shotguns, as well as carbines, ATA Arms presented the PCP air rifle as a compelling argument for its development, albeit only as a design concept. At first glance it is impressive. Another Turkish arms company, Akkar, has added to its range a three-barreled Mammut .410 caliber shotgun with 660 mm barrels, as well as a Churchill 536 side-by-side shotgun of the same caliber. A new shotgun with a vertical barrel arrangement has also appeared - Churchill 812 caliber 12/76 with a single trigger with a selector, with an ejector mechanism and in a steel box of a new design. Not to say that its shape greatly excites the hunter’s aesthetic feelings, but it harmonizes well with the overall layout of the gun, emphasizing power and versatility. In this line of “eights,” two more new items are noticeable: an over-and-under of caliber 28/70 and 410/76, both with 660 mm barrels. Of several new products from the Turkish company Sibergun, I would like to note the Momento self-loading shotgun with inertia automatic and the gas-operated Momento Neo - both hybrid clones of Benell and Beretta self-loading rifles of the late twentieth century, moreover, with removable steel receiver covers, like the Raffaello series shotguns. Both guns are carefully made, high-grade walnut is used for stocks, and there are long, replaceable choke tubes. For an older hunter, they are a good excursion into youth, when we had such Italian guns that served a good reputation. And they say that history does not repeat itself... In the hunting update program of the Czech company CZ, I would like to note the Brno Express vertical fitting with adjustable barrel firing, with 550 mm barrels in 8x57 JRS, 9.3x74R and .30R Blaser calibers. The fitting is produced on the basis of the famous Zbrojovka Brno combination shotgun and, as a representative of the Czech classics, is well suited for Russian game hunts. The second interesting update is the CZ550 Safari Classics II repeating rifle, a well-made rifle for serious hunting. It is not necessary to go with him to Africa on a safari; it is enough for him to work on our hunts for large elk, wild boar and brown bear. Of the five presented calibers, two of them are best suited for the Russian taiga and tundra: .375 H&H Magnum with gentle recoil, and the not-so-harsh .416 Rigby. When fired correctly with cartridges of these calibers, even the largest bear or half-ton elk is hit on the spot and is not forced to deal with wounded animals. It’s hard to say how new these were, but at the stand of the Turkish company Ideal AV Spor, clones of Russian horizontal and vertical cameras looked quite decent. And the single-barrel YK Single barrel - exactly like our Izh-18 - was completely mesmerizing with its beauty, utilitarianism and thoroughness. Two pure new items were also visible in the wide range of weapons of the Italian company Rizzini: a 16-gauge over/under (16/70) called Competition 16 Sporting and its first single-barreled shotgun. No less interesting are the Rizzini two-caliber over/unders, which are almost never found among other shotgun manufacturers. For example, shotguns with 12/20 caliber barrels; 20/28; 20/ .410; 28/.410 and others. At the JP Sauer & Sohn stand, along with its famous S101, S202, S303 and S404 carbines, there were also double-barreled over-and-under hunting rifles, the Sauer Artemis and Sauer Apollon models, both with semi-pistol stocks (Prince of Wales rounded grips) ), straight comb or Monte Carlo. And this, perhaps, is all that was possible to tell, given the volume of the magazine article and the illustrations for it. There were much more new products, especially from the category of so-called “updates” and “alterations”.

Another “invention” of Turkish gunsmiths is a 12-gauge repeating shotgun with manual reloading using the lower lever. Model A110 from Adler

New weapons 2022: Twenty-five loading shotgun KGS-25

In 2011, KEL TEC introduced its version of the shotgun with two tubular magazines located under the barrel.
The KGS shotgun was offered in three versions with different barrel lengths and magazine capacities of 470, 409, 348 millimeters, 12, 10 and 8 rounds, respectively. This year the company demonstrated a truly huge gun with very capacious magazines - the KGS-25. Design of the KGS-25 shotgun
By and large, the designers of the KEL TEC company did absolutely nothing except lengthen the barrel and weapon magazines, but this does not make the design any less interesting.

The gun is assembled in a bullpup configuration, which is not such a common occurrence for guns. Thus, maximum compactness of the weapon is achieved, although in relation to the KGS-25 the word compactness is clearly inapplicable. Under the barrel of the gun there are two tubes, which are stores. Each tube holds 12 rounds of 12 gauge with a case length of 70 millimeters or 10 rounds with a case length of 76 millimeters, that is, a fully loaded gun will be able to fire 24 times.

The KGS-25 shotgun does not have an automatic mechanism; reloading is carried out manually using the handle to hold the weapon or the forend. The magazines are loaded and spent cartridges are ejected through the hole behind the pistol grip.

Despite the unusual design of the gun, there is nothing revolutionary about it. In fact, an already well-known design was used, to which another store was added. Cartridges are used first from one magazine tube, then from another; the shooter switches between magazines manually using a switch located behind the pistol grip.

This solution allows you to make a small but quick choice between the ammunition used. For example, between shot and slug cartridges. Or between shotgun and rubber bullet cartridges, which would be relevant for law enforcement agencies.

Another interesting feature of the gun is that you can lock both magazines, while the trigger mechanism and reloading system remain operational. That is, you can insert separate ammunition directly into the chamber, which can also be useful in certain situations.

Safe handling of the weapon is ensured only by a push-button safety device located above the pistol grip of the gun.

In order to soften the recoil when shooting, the back of the gun has a rubber pad, although there is no great need for this.

The gun's sights are removable and are mounted on two mounting rails on the receiver and above the barrel of the weapon. In addition, there is an additional guide under the barrels for installing additional devices. It is not entirely clear for what purpose the weapon is equipped with such long guides, more for the general appearance than for any real need, but it is what it is.

It is also worth mentioning why the number 25 is used in the name of the gun. The fact is that the manufacturer separately notes that the maximum KGS-25 can be equipped with 25 rounds, 12 in each magazine and one in the chamber. Characteristics of the KGS-25 shotgun

In order to appreciate the full scale of this gun, it is enough just to say that the barrel length is 77.5 centimeters, while the total length is slightly less than a meter. The weight of the gun without cartridges is 4.2 kilograms; if you estimate on average, the weight with cartridges is about 5.2 kilograms.

Pros and cons of the KGS-25 shotgun

The main advantage of the weapon, according to the manufacturer, is the capacity of the magazines. The real advantage is the ability to choose the magazine from which the cartridges will be supplied. The long barrel of the gun also cannot but be appreciated as a plus, since it will allow more efficient use of the powder charge of the cartridge.

The weapons may have few disadvantages, but they are significant. The first thing to note is the weight of the KGS-25, but it must be taken into account that the design of the weapon is such that the weight is distributed more or less evenly, at least while the magazines are filled with ammunition. The length of the gun, which is almost a meter long, also seems excessive when configured in a bullpup. However, a positive point can be found here; in the end, such a “fool” can be used as a club, and very effectively.

In general, the idea of creating such a weapon seems a little absurd. A hand-loading shotgun, heavy, with a magazine capacity of more than 20 rounds. For the civilian market, such a weapon is clearly not needed, since it is very difficult to find a use for it, except for recreational shooting. The use of such weapons in the army or law enforcement agencies is also clearly not justified; it is difficult to come up with a task for a twenty-round gun to ensure that it fully reveals its potential. However, there is a truly justified niche for such weapons - cinema. Just in the movies, they love big, heavy guns, and with a twenty-round gun, you can even set a task for the main character to clear out a small building and no one will accuse the weapon of having endless cartridges.

Most likely, the KGS-25 gun will never find its niche even in the civilian market. The situation could be corrected if the manufacturer revised the design of the gun and introduced automation into it, making the weapon self-loading, this would significantly add to the popularity of the KGS-25. Ideally, it would be if such a gun had the ability to fire automatically. On the contrary, it would hardly have found its specific niche in the market, but this would have ensured its high popularity, since the firepower would have been simply unthinkable, although unjustified.

Whatever one may say, such a weapon, no matter what the tricks, simply remains an unusual gun and nothing more. No one will argue that a large number of cartridges in a magazine is very good, but when the overall ease of use suffers from this, then this is clearly a negative phenomenon.

IZH-18

In 1964, the whole world happily greeted a brand new Russian-made hunting rifle. The model is single-barrel, the appearance is recognizable and does not require guesswork. If you think about old Russian guns , then the first thing that comes to mind for many is the IZH-18, because it is produced to this day, and it is not difficult to buy. Typically the stock is made from wood such as beech or birch. The trunk itself can be up to 73.5 centimeters in length.

  • Caliber: 12, 16, 20, 28, 32 and 410
  • Weight: 2.8 kg.
  • Barrel length: up to 73.5 cm
  • Year of issue: 1964

SG-0001 – smoothbore carbine with a short barrel stroke

Specifications:

  • caliber - 12th;
  • barrel length – from 420 to 460 mm;
  • weight – 3.445 kg;
  • Magazine capacity – 10 rounds.

An ergonomic and compact self-loading carbine that is perfect for hunting, sports and self-defense. This model is a new product among smooth-bore hunting carbines. Due to the short barrel stroke, the SG-0001 is 1 kg lighter than analogues with a gas vent mechanism. The absence of a gas outlet also eliminates the possibility of barrel kicking - the recoil is minimal and directed strictly to the shoulder, which increases the speed and accuracy of shooting.

The trigger mechanism is monoblock, SWC’s own design, compatible with any AR-platform weapon.
