The Scorpio traumatic pistol is made from combat samples produced in the 1960s. Adaptation to the traumatic version involves replacing the barrel. The barrel is solid, made of steel. The barrel bore is of the T10 type, with two small pins, which, coupled with the long barrel, gives muzzle energy comparable to the record holders of the latest known tests, while eliminating the possibility of firing hard objects in accordance with the requirements of the EKC. Formally, the ability to fire in bursts has been removed. But only formally. Complete with the original bent magazine, with which traumatic nines do not work, attached only for aesthetics and beauty, there is a new straight magazine, specially made for 9mm R.A.

For reference, the Skorpion Vz.61 submachine gun was developed for special units, military personnel in such specialties as drivers and signalmen, as well as artillery crews and crews of combat vehicles who require a simple, light, compact and not burdensome weapon, more effective than a self-loading weapon pistol in the event of a sudden clash with the enemy. The Scorpion has become a very popular weapon due to such qualities as compactness, ease of handling and carrying, reliability, accuracy and controllability during shooting. Most of all, Skorpion became known as a terrorist weapon, for the reason that it was used in high-profile terrorist attacks in the 1970s and 1980s.

The Sa vz.61 Rubber automatic operates according to a blowback mechanism. The hammer-type trigger mechanism allows firing in bursts and single shots in the original version, not converted into a traumatic pistol. Again, for historical reference, the translator-fuse has three positions: front “20” - burst fire; middle "0" - fuse; back "1" - single shots. The safety lever located above the pistol grip of the fire control, on the left side of the weapon, allows you to conveniently and quickly work with it. The fire is fired from a closed bolt. The Scorpion is equipped with a rate of fire retarder due to the fact that due to the low momentum of the cartridge, the mass of the bolt was also small, which gave a too high rate of fire, exceeding 1000 rounds per minute.

The retarder, located in the handle, after each shot, the bolt is blocked for a short period of time by a spring-loaded grip in the rearmost position, and then released. This achieved a rate of fire of 840 rounds/min, which makes the weapon accurate and well controllable during automatic fire. The cocking handle is double-sided. On both sides of the receiver there are button-shaped cocking levers. The Sa vz.61 Rubber is equipped with a folding steel stock made of bent wire. Sights consist of a front sight protected by a muzzle guard and a reversible L-shaped rear sight, allowing for targeted shooting at distances of 75 and 150 meters.

Knife sharpener “Scorpio”

The Scorpion knife sharpener is a system that fixes the blade in a stationary position and allows you to maintain the sharpening angle of the blade. It consists of several parts:

• main block with a rotating frame where the tool being processed is attached;
• 2 clamps that hold the blade;
• vertical rod with a sliding hinge;
• a guide rod on which abrasive bars are attached;
• hinges holding them;
• hex wrench.

There are marks on the vertical rod indicating sharpening angles. You can choose from 14 to 56 degrees. The system is suitable for sharpening knives with blades up to 40 cm in length. And abrasive bars can be of any kind; their permissible size is up to 23 cm.

The sharpener is fixed to the edge of the tabletop so that the rotating mechanism protrudes beyond its limits. Clamps secure the blade, the blade should face outward. Select the desired sharpening angle using a protractor. Then the sliding unit is installed accordingly and a guide axis with a bar is placed in it.

The abrasive is moved along the blade from the base to the tip. When one side has been processed, using the rotating mechanism, turn the other side out. There is no need to remove the blade from the clamps.

“Scorpio” is a beautiful and quite reliable knife for lovers of flashy products. It cannot be called the “gold standard” for hunting tools, but it can be made a good assistant in the forest. And for those who prefer simpler and more functional knives, there are products from AiRa and Russian Damask Steel.

Rate of fire

In terms of weight and size characteristics, the CZ-61 was only slightly superior to a standard army pistol. However, this had to be paid for with a high rate of fire and, as a consequence, increased ammunition consumption. An inertial retarder in the form of two converging rollers, which later began to be installed on some Scorpion models, made it possible to almost halve the rate of fire.

In general, everything was fine until early in the morning of the next day - May 21 - the sonar of the NIS flew into the cabin and blurted out: “We hear the noises of a nuclear submarine!” Having dressed instantly, Lavrov rushed to the upper deck. A couple of minutes later, already on the boat, he ordered the watch officer: “to examine the aft sector in noise direction finding mode!” and declared a combat alert. Before the bell of the combat alarm had even sounded, an alarmed commander rose to the central post of the nuclear submarine. The submarine immediately sank to periscope depth. XX century They were also used by employees of various special units, especially when it was necessary to hide their nationality.

Kunai and Scorpion knives: comparison

It makes sense to compare the Kunai and Scorpion knives when we are talking about throwing weapons. The first are of the dagger type with symmetrical blades and straight handles. The second ones have a curved shape. But when choosing for a novice athlete, it is not this that matters, but the characteristics:

• “full-tang” design, that is, the weapon must be all-metal;
• weight 200-280 g;
• the center of gravity of the knife is approximately in its center.

Both types of implements meet these requirements. And the choice between them is a matter of taste.

The submachine gun was originally developed in Slovakia under the name "Laugo". Development began in 2002, and the first prototypes already existed in 2004-2005. In the second half of the 2000s, Česká Zbrojovka acquired the rights to this design. In 2009, Scorpion EVO 3 was presented to the general public. Serially produced since 2010. The manufacturing company planned to release a version chambered for .40 S&W, but as of today (2018), there is no such option yet.
