At the same time, police officers can take some “liberties.” For example, in summer it is permissible to replace a casual jacket with a shirt. This opportunity, in particular, is actively used by the Sochi police, who are always easy to distinguish from the Ministry of Internal Affairs officers who periodically come to this city “to reinforce themselves.” It is also allowed to wear winter ankle boots or ankle boots in the summer, although it is not clear why this should be done.

For frosty days, trousers with a warm lining, an insulated jacket, and a sweater are offered. For the off-season months, which are characterized by rainy weather, employees have waterproof jackets that can protect against wind and rain.

The jackets are equipped with hoods , which have slots in the ear area for better audibility and ease of use of various hearing devices. If necessary, you don’t need to remove the hood: the holes unfasten, allowing you to use headphones.

For traffic police officers, outerwear is equipped with special reflectors that glow when light hits them, for example, from car headlights. This is done for ease of work in the dark.

Rules and features of wearing uniforms

The basic rules for wearing uniforms by internal affairs officers are regulated in Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs N and RF Procedural Code N.

1. The uniform must be maintained in good condition;
2. Clothes and shoes worn in service must be cleaned and ironed;
3. The authorities will control the compliance of the appearance of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with established standards;
4. Formally, there are 3 types of uniforms - summer, winter and demi-season. The transition from one form to another occurs immediately by all employees, simultaneously, regardless of home region;
5. It is prohibited to mix items from different seasonal sets. You also cannot wear clothes from different categories (for example, weekend and casual).

It is not recommended for employees wearing special uniforms to appear in public places. Women should not combine the uniform with elaborate makeup, eye-catching jewelry and accessories.

Types and styles of police clothing for women and men

The men's summer option for going out consists of woolen dark blue trousers and a silver jacket. A man must wear a light gray cap on his head. While in the ranks, employees complement their suit with a gold belt. The shirt is white, the tie is dark blue.

The main differences between the new and old forms

The main goal pursued by the developers of the new uniform was to help each employee in performing his main duties, as well as improve his appearance.

List of the most significant differences of the new police uniform:

1. The predominant color is blue (with the exception of white shirts for hot weather);

The badges are made of aluminum, have an oval shape and are made in golden shades.

The chevrons indicate the division of the person out of 15 possible ones. They are sewn or attached with Velcro to the sleeves:

Winter and demi-season

For the cold and “transitional” seasons, the following elements of the police uniform are provided:

1. Boots (low boots) for demi-season and winter;

3. Demi-season cap;
4. Winter version of the suit;

7. Socks;

Despite the fact that the order to “change clothes” for the police was issued back in 2013, until recently, police officers in the old uniform could be seen on the streets of some cities. You can distinguish it from the new one by its predominant dark gray color. The reason for such a slow replacement of uniforms is simple - underfunding.
