Crosman 1322 is a legendary air pistol that stands out among its air-gun brethren with power comparable to a rifle, shooting bullets rather than balls, and the ability to transform into a short carbine like the no less pretentious Mauser C96 - a self-loading pistol from the First World War and the Civil War with a clip-on holster - butt. Produced by the North American company Crosman from 1977 to 2004. Replaced by the same technical solution model 1377, which has a smaller caliber - 4.5 mm. Since 2012, it has been put into production again, but by Chinese manufacturers under license from Crosman. A relatively rare example of air pistols.
Crosman 1322 Air Pistol Review
This is a multi-compressor air pistol with preliminary pumping of pressure in the working cylinder of the combat mechanism using several movements. It has a rifled barrel of “papal” – 5.5 mm caliber. The shutter is sliding, the shot is single. Ammunition - rifle bullet.
Advantages
The multi-compressor mechanism allows you to smoothly regulate the power of the shot, changing the number of pumping movements, the minimum number of which is three, the maximum is ten. The pistol will withstand thirty, but you shouldn’t abuse its durability.
Solid power and 5.5 mm caliber. The barrel is rifled, 10.25 cm long, which ensures effective shooting at a distance of 30 meters.
By making a butt that is attached to the handle, this pistol can be turned into something like a short carbine.
The Crosman 1322 pistol is not like any real firearm, and there will be no questions from law enforcement agencies about it.
Flaws
The Crosman 1322 is not a pocket gun at all. It weighs almost a kilogram and has a total length of 13.63 cm.
Popularly nicknamed “expander” for the need to pump up pressure in the working cylinder. This process is quite lengthy and physically expensive.
There are no rails for external optical sights, and the rear sight and front sight are ordinary, metal, without colored fiber-optic threads.
The fuse is only mechanical. The disadvantage is controversial, but eliminated in 1377, and therefore is considered a useful option by part of the audience of shooters.
The handle and receiver are only plastic. Great trigger force - almost 2.5 kg.
The dissimilarity of the pistol to a real combat model is considered by many lovers of everything “almost for real” as “complete crap.”

Application
The 5.5 mm caliber and long barrel allow you to effectively shoot at distant targets. The pistol is excellent for sporting events and partly for hunting pigeons, crows and squirrels.
Description
The manufacture of weapons is based on a combination of high-quality metal and impact-resistant plastic. The material of the body and barrel is weapon steel. They are made of plastic - the forend, the o-ring, the piston, the fuse, the front sight, the lever, the lower part of the sighting bar. The handles are also plastic, but imitate wood down to the small notches. The pistol has good aimed shooting, is easy to repair, and beginners can handle maintenance and assembly.
Design features
The Crosman 1377 model includes a number of modifications that differ slightly from each other.
1. Crosman 1377C is a classic air pistol model. The full name of the classic is Crosman American Classic.
The sighting elements are a non-adjustable front sight and an adjustable rear sight. For this purpose, two screws are provided. But initial zeroing is not required, since the rear sight is adjusted during assembly at the factory. The Crosman 1377C air pistol has a bullet compartment on the right. The shutter moves along a given path. The upward movement must be done manually; the downward rammer will return the mechanism to its place. The Crosman 1377 C air pistol has a non-automatic safety that is manually adjusted to 2 different positions. Turn left - combat readiness. Horizontally to the right - the descent is blocked to pump air and install a lead bullet.
2. Crosman P1377BR - practically no different from other modifications. The Crosman P1377 American Classic Black air pistol stands out with its brown lining on the fore-end and handle. They have a rough texture so that the hand does not slip when pulling the trigger. The prototype for production was the 105th version. Ease of use due to ergonomic size and light weight.
Performance characteristics
The Crosman 1377 pistol is a multi-compression system. Shots are fired one at a time with lead bullets. Crosman's bullet penetrates a target at a distance of 10 meters. The target could be a glass bottle or a tin can. The principle of operation is this: in order to fire a shot, you need to pump the tank with air. To achieve the speed of the bullet, as indicated in the technical data sheet, up to 10 pumpings are required. To do this, the pistol is put on safety and the fore-end is activated manually. When it is evenly raised and lowered, air is pumped. When this happens, the shutter moves upward and towards itself. A slot opens into which the bullet is inserted. The reverse action is performed by the shutter. The pistol is ready to fire when the safety is removed.

It is important to note
Pumping with air must be done with the gun on. Otherwise, extreme situations with spontaneous shots are possible. On the one hand, pneumatics are a serious weapon. You can't treat him like a toy. On the other hand, it is not suitable for self-defense, given the amount of pumping before shooting. Not intended for rapid shooting.

Device and appearance
The pistol is very massive in appearance, completely black, without decorative colored inserts. The handle is wide, metal, combined with the trigger guard. It is slightly tilted. It has two plastic “cheeks” with notches and grooves for convenient placement of the shooter’s thumb and index fingers. On the left under the thumb there is a non-automatic safety button. The “Fire” position is marked with a red stroke.
The forend is massive and plays the role of a lever for the pumping mechanism. It is released for inflation from the side of the trigger guard, the axial hinge is located under the front sight. To bring the pistol into combat condition, it must be vigorously lowered and raised at least three times.
Bolt-type bolt with a lever on the right, similar to the sliding bolt of a Mosin rifle. When you open it with the “Back” movement, the charging chamber opens and the trigger mechanism is cocked. For shooting, 5.5 mm caliber bullets are used. The trigger is metal. Trigger force – 2.5 kilograms.
Sights – classic front and rear sights (adjustable) without colored fiber-optic threads. There is no rail for optical sights.
Description of the air pistol Crosman P1377 American Classic Black
An interesting multi-compression pistol produced by the American company Crosman. The company has long established itself as a developer and manufacturer of diverse, and most importantly high-quality pneumatics.
The pistol is quite compact. Its length is 36.2 cm , while the weight of the model is about 900 grams. The body of the model is made of high-quality black plastic, thanks to its widespread use, the model has such a low weight. In addition, plastic does not absorb moisture and is also quite resistant to mechanical damage.
The P1377 American Classic model has a rather specific design. It is important to note that it is truly classic, because the appearance of the model is the same as the Crosman 105 pistol, which was produced between 1947 and 1953.
The handle of the model is ergonomic; thanks to the rough surface, the model will not slip in the hands of the shooter. Next to the trigger guard there is a push-button safety, which is designed to protect the shooter, as well as his surroundings, from an unintentional shot.
The gun belongs to multi-compression pneumatics. To inflate the reservoir, it is necessary to pump the under-barrel lever from 3 to 10 times.
The model is a bullet model, that is, 4.5 mm lead bullets are used for shooting. The pistol has a bolt that is used for reloading. The presented model is designed for a bullet speed of 183 m/s , however, under Russian legislation, the product is supplied in a weakened version. It is important to note that the pistol barrel is rifled, due to which shooting is characterized by increased accuracy. The sighting mechanism is represented by the front sight and entirely.
Crosman P1377 American Classic Black is the model chosen by amateurs and professional shooters; the model is also suitable for beginners. Among the advantages of the pistol are quality, accuracy of fire, and low price.
Options and packaging
The pistol is packaged in a transparent plastic blister with a cardboard bottom, on the front side of which the brand, main technical characteristics and safety measures are indicated. No spare parts. The blister is often opened by sellers of online stores to check the functionality of the weapon. This is not a reason for complaints.

Operating principle
The gun has a multi-compressor operating principle. In order to fire, you need to pump air into the bypass chamber of the combat mechanism and create a certain pressure in it. Pumping is done using a lever, the role of which is played by the forend, connected to the pump rod. The handguard will separate from the trigger guard side. They make at least three vigorous movements up and down.
After pumping up the pressure in the bypass chamber, the handle of the bolt bolt (similar to the sliding bolt of a rifle) rises from the lug and the bolt bolt is retracted back until it stops. The muzzle cut (chamber) is visible in the opened charging chamber. A 5.5 mm caliber bullet is inserted into it.
You can use any - lead, tin, combined (with a copper core). The shutter at the front end has the shape of a truncated cone with a rubber O-ring at a distance of 4 mm from the cut. This part is called the “rammer”.
When the bolt moves back, it moves the firing pin (a rather heavy metal cylinder) and compresses the mainspring. When the firing pin reaches its place, it snaps onto the trigger hammer sear. The weapon is cocked. After this, you can turn on the safety, which is located on the left, on the handle of the pistol, immediately behind the trigger guard (can be pressed with your thumb).
Having inserted a bullet into the “chamber”, the bolt bolt is closed with a “forward” movement and its lever is lowered down, locking the barrel bore. When you press the trigger, the trigger sear releases the firing pin of the impact mechanism, which hits the spring-loaded rod of the bypass chamber. The rod moves and opens the bypass valve, releasing pressure towards the charging chamber. Compressed air presses on the bullet, it crashes into the rifling of the barrel and begins to move. A shot occurs.

Disassembly
Disassembly may be necessary in order to replace the plastic receiver with a metal one, milled in one body along with a dovetail rail for optical sights.
To disassemble the Crosman 1322 pistol you need:
- Unscrew the slotted screw on the rear sight and remove it;
- slide the bolt back to expose the countersunk hex screw;
- unscrew the countersunk screw;
- lift the rear part of the receiver and remove the front end of the barrel from the coupling with the front sight;
- you can remove the bypass from the high-pressure chamber (it is not secured in any way, and it can easily be lost when removing the barrel);
- Make sure the bypass seal is good and its opening is 2/3 gauge.
Disassembly and care
The weapon requires care - lubrication with specialized oils for pneumatics or autosynthetic agents. The main thing is not to use aggressive compounds, otherwise the rubber O-rings will quickly fail. For lubrication, simply place a few drops on the pump connections and on the piston head. The procedure is done before pumping air into the gun tank. To ensure that the oil quickly spreads through the internal channels, open the pump and close it several times.
To disassemble the structure, 8 consecutive steps are required.
- Remove the two screws to remove the handle pads.
- You open the bullet compartment and see a screw inside. It is unscrewed with a hexagon.
- We disconnect the handle - unscrew the screw behind and in front of the trigger guard. Remove the handle so as not to touch the safety spring.
- Remove the rear sight from the receiver by unscrewing the screw and remove the spring.
- Separate the pump pipe from the receiver and remove it.
- Remove the barrel and guide.
- Remove the pin from the pump pipe.
- We remove the drummer from the pipe.
