The most powerful air rifles - the eight world leaders

Sam Yang Dragon Claw .50

The most powerful large-bore air rifle in the world. The main feature of the weapon is that its design makes it possible to use almost all types of cartridges. The Sam Yang Dragon Claw has only one drawback - it requires reloading before each shot, which takes a lot of time.

The rifle has a beautiful design. Its receiver is made of a durable metal alloy, and the butt and fore-end are made of expensive types of wood. The weapon has a proprietary engraving, and also has a pressure gauge that allows you to monitor the pressure in the air tank.

Functional features of expensive air rifles from 16,000 rubles

Each expensive air rifle has serious functionality, and the first thing worth noting is the presence of special Weaver or 11 mm Dovetail mounting strips.

With their help, every owner of expensive pneumatics can easily install optical and tactical equipment. Depends on how many rails are provided on the weapon body.

The top bar is used as a platform for mounting optical or collimator sights. Optics will allow you to shoot game or birds at a long distance.

The bottom and side bars imply the installation of tactical devices. These include a tactical grip, a flashlight, a bipod and a laser designator.

The bipod and tactical handle increase comfort at the moment of making a shot, while the laser target and flashlight contribute to accuracy in low light.

The power of a pneumatic gun starting from 16,000 rubles is enough for an aimed shot at a distance of 40 to 90 meters. Indicators differ depending on one or another modification.

And although 80 percent of weapons are manufactured far beyond Russia, the price of expensive air rifles starting from 16,000 rubles will pleasantly surprise every shooting enthusiast.

Diana 350 Magnum

One of the most reliable and powerful rifles created by German designers. Experts advise those who are looking for an inexpensive, but at the same time high-quality weapon, to buy the Diana 350 Magnum.

Despite the fact that the rifle has a complex design, the weight of the pneumatic does not exceed 3.8 kg. At the same time, its maximum muzzle energy is 7.5 J. The Diana 350 Magnum is compatible with the 4.5 mm caliber and is the best option for sport shooting and training in handling weapons. A license is required to purchase the model.

Top 3 most powerful air rifles allowed in Russia without a license

Now it’s time to talk about pneumatics, which can be purchased by any adult citizen of the Russian Federation without presenting any documents. When compiling the top, we were guided by the price-quality ratio of weapons, as well as reviews and ratings, which can be found on the Internet:

PlaceNameRatingPrice, rub
1Kral Al-145★★★★★★★★★★9.7/106000
2Hatsan Bullboss★★★★★★★★★★9.6/1039000
3Magtech N2 Extreme 1300★★★★★★★★★★9.2/1022000

All three rifles belong to different classes (budget, medium and elite), so each person will be able to choose for himself the option that is most suitable for him.

Kral Al-145 – 1st place

The first place is deservedly occupied by the budget-class rifle Kral Al-145 with the following technical characteristics:

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber4.5 mm
Barrel length180 mm
Barrel typesmoothbore
Ammunition typelead bullets
Magazine capacitysingle-shot
Shot speedup to 325 m/s
Rate of fire18 rounds per minute
Power5.5 J
Aimfront sight, dovetail
Energy sourcespring with piston
Weight3200 grams

It is not difficult to guess that the rifle received such a high rating simply because it has an acceptable cost, as well as good power. Most owners use it for target practice, but the model is also suitable for hunting. The dovetail front sight will allow you to install not only open-type sighting devices, but also optics. There is also the possibility of other modifications, for example, replacing the stock with a buttstock with a plastic version. Finding spare parts for weapons is very easy, and they are quite cheap.

Hatsan Bullboss – 2nd place

With a slight gap from the winner in second place is an elite class rifle called Hatsan Bullboss, which boasts the following characteristics:

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber4.5 mm
Barrel length185 mm
Barrel typethreaded
Ammunition typelead bullets
Magazine capacity10 bullets
Shot speedup to 390 m/s
Rate of fire40 rounds per minute
Power7.5 J
Aimfront sight, dovetail
Energy sourcePCP (pre-pumping)
Weight2900 grams

The model is from a well-known Turkish manufacturer, which hardly needs any introduction. Despite the fact that the cost of the Hatsan is quite high, it still continues to be popular among professional hunters. If not for the price tag, it is quite possible that the rifle would have taken first place in the top, because the initial bullet speed of 390 m/s is truly impressive. Well, due to the QuetEnergy system, pneumatic shots remain almost silent. A good model for hunting a flock of birds, such as quail.

Magtech N2 Extreme 1300 – 3rd place

Now let's take a closer look at the technical rifles in third place - Magtech N2 Extreme 1300 (mid-range):

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber4.5 mm
Barrel length190 mm
Barrel typethreaded
Ammunition typelead bullets
Magazine capacitysingle-shot
Shot speedup to 400 m/s
Rate of fire12 rounds per minute
Power7.2 J
Aimfront sight, dovetail
Energy sourcegas spring
Weight2900 grams

Many may think that the rifle is more suitable for a professional than for an amateur. However, this is a deep misconception, since its design is simple to the point of impossibility. In addition, the weapon has good resistance to mechanical damage and can be used even at low temperatures. Why then is there only third position in the top? The thing is that many owners complain that the price is too high. Also, because the spring is too powerful, you will have to exert force to break the rifle, and this reduces the number of bullets that can be fired per minute. However, the rifle is excellent for hunting small fur-bearing animals or wood grouse.

All of these rifles can be called universal, since they are excellent for both training and recreational shooting, and for hunting. Also, the weapon can be modified if the owner wishes (the dovetail front sight allows the installation of most existing sights). The rifles are easy to use and come with a warranty card for free service for a period of 1 to 2 years.

Quackenbush LA Outlaw .458

The weapon is produced by the American company Quackenbush and is popular all over the world. It's compact, easy to use and powerful. Its feature was a design designed for all standard rifle bullets. The model is chosen by hunters and lovers of shooting moving targets, since the LA Outlaw .458 is recognized as one of the most accurate in its series, the analogue of which is the Red Ryder smoothbore pneumatics.

Users nicknamed the rifle “hellish little thing.” This name stuck to it due to the fact that the fired bullet flies at a speed of 223 meters per second. However, the LA Outlaw .458 is not for everyone. To use it, you must obtain appropriate permission.

The Ruger brand produces powerful rifles that are identical in design features to the Russian SMERSH weapons. Despite the fact that Ruger is a subsidiary of the German company Umarex, all pneumatics are manufactured in Korea.

Benjamin Trail NP XL Air Rifle - the best gas piston air rifle

This is a rifle that every avid hunter should try. When using lead bullets, the maximum speed is about 950 m per second. This was made possible by the gas piston used to fire the shot.

Compared to other air rifles, the Benjamin Trail NP Xl is one of the quietest. Therefore, you will be able to maintain stealth while hunting.

The Crosman Nitro piston is especially popular due to smoother cocking, smoother shooting, zero spring torque, zero spring fatigue, ability to shoot in cold weather, and greater durability than a metal spring.

The rifle's hardwood body is excellent and matches well with the black metal parts. The forearm grip is textured for a strong grip while shooting. Considering that the air rifle weighs about 9.7 pounds with the scope attached, you need to hold it tightly or it may lose focus when shooting, causing you to miss your target.

You may feel that the trigger on this rifle is a little longer than you are used to. However, you can also customize it according to your preferences.

Hatsan 125TH

The model was the perfect combination of beautiful design, accuracy and price. Its design is made of durable alloy, and the shape of the handle ensures comfortable shooting. Hatsan 125TH is a Magnum class rifle. This means that it has high power. The initial speed of a bullet fired from it is 380 meters per second. The weapon is compatible with 4.5 mm caliber cartridges.

The highlight of Hatsan 125TH is that it has a modern Shock Absorber system. It absorbs shock, reduces vibration when fired and greatly facilitates the use of weapons.

Crosman PCP Challenger - the most accurate air rifle of 2022

Crosman Corporation is a manufacturer of sport shooting rifles based in the United States. The company was founded in 1924 under the name Crosman Rifle Company. They are famous for their airgun designs and the precision of their products.

The Crosman PCP Challenger features a dual polymer construction. The mounting rail is 11 mm. The stock is adjustable to increase the length of the rifle from 38.75 to 41.75 inches. Her weight is 7.3 kg.

Recently, the rifle was approved for use in Sporter air rifle competitions by the National Tri-Position Air Rifle Council. This rifle is designed for competition, not hunting.

If you're looking for an air rifle for competitive shooting, the Crosman PCP Challenger is a good choice at around $650.

MP-512M

A classic single-shot air gun, the barrel of which is made of steel and the butt of birch wood. This distinguishes it from similar models with plastic elements. The MP-512M is manufactured in Russia and is sold at a fairly reasonable price - only 7,200 rubles.

The weight of the gun does not exceed 3 kg. The length of the model is 109 cm. The weapon is compatible with 4.5 mm caliber bullets. Initial speed – 220 meters per second. The MP-512M is equipped with an aiming bar, a front sight, an automatic safety device and is powered by a spring.

Crosman Fury NP

It is worth noting that this spring-piston type air rifle is equipped not with a classic metal spring, but with a gas spring, thanks to which the fired projectile is accelerated to 365 m/s. This figure is higher than that of PM. In the combat Makarov, the bullet moves at a speed of 320 m/s. Pneumatic caliber - 4.5 mm. The manufacturer uses high-quality rubberized plastic for the manufacture of the butt, forend and pistol grip, and reliable steel alloys for other parts. Thanks to the corrugated surface, the weapon does not slip in your hands. The rifled barrel is equipped with a plastic muzzle, the purpose of which is to increase combat accuracy. This is a rifle with a manual flag-type safety. You can adjust the trigger if necessary. Thanks to the high level of contrast that plastic sights have, the weapon is convenient to use in poor lighting conditions. The disadvantage of this model is that if you need to make repairs, you may have problems with spare parts. Some owners note that cocking the weapon requires physical effort and often requires tightening the mounting bolts. The price of this “pneumatic” is 9 thousand rubles.

RAR VL-12 iBon

The rifle is intended for sports and amateur shooting at a shooting range or outdoors. It has an unusual design and high power - 3 J. Air reservoirs are installed inside the structure, the pressure in which reaches 500 atm.

RAR VL-12 iBon is a multi-shot weapon designed for 40 shots without reloading. Compatible with 5.5 mm cartridges. The rifle is supplied complete with a technical passport, a quality certificate, two magazines and a quick-filling fitting. You can buy it without a license.

PCP ATAMAN ML 15B

The rifle is manufactured in Russia and is famous throughout the world not only for its convenient and durable design, but also for its high power. It is compatible with 6.35 mm caliber and shoots at a distance of 50 meters. The model is equipped with a mount for an optical sight (you will have to buy it separately).

Modern technologies are used in the production process of PCP ATAMAN ML 15B. For example, the pneumatics have an air supply control system, as well as a mechanism that speeds up the reloading process and increases the accuracy of the weapon. The rifle barrel was made by the American company Lothar Walther. It is characterized by strength and durability.

Recommendations for using expensive air rifles from 16,000 rubles

Using any type of weapon involves not only shooting, but also carrying out maintenance. This concept includes cleaning and lubricating all elements of the weapon.

The barrel is one of the first to be cleaned, as it takes on the entire load when firing a shot. To carry out this procedure, you will need to additionally purchase special devices.

Such devices are considered to be a cleaning rod, a brush, a powder puff and oil for treating the internal walls. Most companies recommend cleaning after 1000-1500 shots. However, with constant use, it is better to do this after 500 shots.

Timely care will allow you to maintain accuracy and firing range at a height, which for hunters is the main thing for making an accurate shot.

Buy expensive air rifles from RUB 16,000. in the online store Popadiv10.ru. Delivery in Moscow and other cities of Russia.

EVANIX GTL 480S

The rifle has a modern design and is considered the most powerful of all models produced in South Korea. Its appearance will especially appeal to fans of first-person shooters and fans of the military style.

In addition to its beautiful design, the EVANIX GTL 480S has a muzzle energy of 5.5 J, a telescopic butt and a rail for an optical sight. The disadvantage of the weapon is its weight of 4 kilograms. When using a rifle for a long time, an inexperienced shooter's hands begin to hurt.

EDgun Matador R3M

The EDgun Matador R3M air rifle is the best option for small and large game hunters. It is made of impact-resistant alloy, equipped with two magazines of 10 charges and replaceable rubber clamps designed for different types of bullets.

The manufacturer offers two types of EDgun Matador R3M - classic and extended. They have common characteristics and design, differing only in barrel length.

Due to its features, EDgun Matador R3M is in great demand all over the world, but its price is high. The cost of the set is from 85,000 rubles.

Experts recommend choosing pre-inflated pneumatics (PCP). It is more durable and convenient to use.

Now we can talk in more detail about the technical characteristics of each of the rifles in order to understand why they stand out so much from the usual pneumatics

Quackenbush LA Outlaw 458 (USA) – 1st place

The American Quackenbush is an excellent option for hunting both small and medium game. The power of the rifle is quite enough to knock down even an adult wolf. Well, a 5-round magazine will allow you not to think about a long reload if suddenly the first bullet does not reach the target. Also, thanks to the fairly long barrel, the rifle has good accuracy at long distances.

Dragon Career Slayer (South Korea) – 2nd place

In common parlance, the rifle is also commonly called the “Dragon Slayer”, since the weapon has enormous firepower and has a very pretentious appearance. Many owners claim that they were able to kill bison with this rifle - in principle, the power is enough for this, but only if you shoot in a vulnerable spot. One reservoir is enough for about 400 shots, so you don’t have to worry about the rifle losing its power during a hunt.

CharacteristicParameter

FX INDI (Sweden) – 3rd place

Weapons from Sweden have always been famous for their reliability and excellent fighting qualities, and the FX INDI model is the best pneumatic model. The rifle uses standard caliber ammunition - 4.5 millimeters, but it has a completely different shape than the usual lead bullets and balls. A 30-round drum will seem especially in demand for target practice, but it will also come in handy for hunting.

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber4.5 mm

Sam Yang Big Bore 909S (South Korea) – 4th place

This monster uses bullets whose diameter is as much as 11.5 millimeters - quite enough to kill an adult deer or even a boar. The 909S version was released with a pressure gauge built into the body, so that the owner can always monitor how many atmospheres are left in the gas cylinder. The rifle comes with a red dot sight, which has several settings modes and special rechargeable batteries. A good model for those who like simple and easy-to-handle weapons.

FX BOSS (Sweden) – 5th place

Another model from the Swedes, which is inferior to the previous one in some indicators, but is definitely worth the money. Despite the fact that the barrel length is only 120 millimeters, the rifle has very impressive dimensions. Well, the fairly large bullets used in this model will allow you to hit both large birds and medium-sized animals without much difficulty. However, pneumatics are not suitable for hunting moose or bears. But the presence of a built-in optical sight (3x) allows you to enjoy sports or recreational shooting at long distances.

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber8.5 mm
Barrel length120 mm

FX Impact (Sweden) – 6th place

"Impact" is another rifle from Sweden with a lethal caliber. A distinctive feature of this product is that it allows you to regulate the pressure in the cylinder thanks to the pre-inflation mechanism. Experts also highlight good accuracy when shooting at long distances and a stylish design as advantages. The rifle comes with an optical sight (3x), which can be replaced with a standard open sight if desired. Also worthy of mention is the butt of the rifle, which has 5 positions for adjustment.

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber7.62 mm
Barrel length160 mm

Magazine capacity15
Shot speedup to 290 m/s
Rate of fire55 rounds per minute
Power90 J
Aimoptics, dovetail
Energy sourcePCP (prepumping)
Weight2500 grams

FX Bobcat (Sweden) – 7th place

Another model that uses 7.62 caliber. However, unlike Impact, Bobcat is more suitable not for hunters, but for sports enthusiasts. The manufacturer claims that the air reservoir is enough to fire 18 shots. However, you can pre-pump using PCP even after each use. The rifle is extremely easy to use and is worth the money, if only because the buyer has the opportunity to choose a model with a diopter optical sight. If you wish, you can go hunting with pneumatics, but its power is only enough to kill a large beaver or wolf.

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber7.62 mm
Barrel length120 mm

Shot speedup to 330 m/s

EDgun Matador R3M (Russia) – 8th place

A Russian model that was loved by its owners due to its high reliability, ease of operation, and stylish appearance. You can feel the pleasure of shooting thanks to the semi-automatic mode. A couple of magazines for 10 bullets will allow you not to think about reloading for some time. Unfortunately, the gas cylinder is enough for about 60 shots. However, given that the rifle was made in Russia, the cost of replacement components will not cost a fortune. It is also impossible not to note the fact that the rifle has a built-in pressure regulator. Roughly speaking, this function serves to regulate the initial speed of the bullet.

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber5.5 mm
Barrel length100 mm

Evanix GTL-480S (South Korea) – 9th place

One of the most unusual models among all air rifles. Despite the fact that the power of the muzzle energy at the moment of the shot is only 55 J, the initial velocity of the shot is more than 300 m/s. This feature is achieved through the use of classic 4.5 mm ammunition. Also, many fans of pneumatic guns are attracted by their unusual design (just look at the telescopic stock and optical sight). Well, the color in the “Military” style will especially suit those who like the military style. The rifle can be used both for target practice and for hunting small animals and birds.

CharacteristicParameter
Caliber4.5 mm

PCP Ataman ML-15B (Russia) – 10th place

One of the best Russian air rifles, which could be called a classic if not for the 6.35 mm caliber. The model has quite strongly pushed aside many imported analogues due to its relatively low cost and good quality. Also, many owners are attracted by the fact that the rifle is single-shot, but at the same time it has a pre-priming mechanism: shoot, reload, pump up the atmosphere - and you can shoot again with maximum power. By the way, the ammo power is quite enough to kill a wild boar.

CharacteristicParameter

Shot speedup to 420 m/s
Rate of fire17 rounds per minute

We remind you that all of these rifles can only be purchased with the appropriate license. However, if you buy such a “monster”, you can be sure that the weapon will show only its best side. As a rule, high-power air rifles are purchased for hunting game birds or fur-bearing animals.

FX BOBCAT Mk2

Expensive and powerful Swiss-made air rifle. FX Airguns designed it specifically for people new to airgun shooting, so it's suitable for experienced and new shooters alike.

The design of the FX BOBCAT Mk2 is standard - an adjustable trigger, a side cocking lever and an integrated gearbox. The advantage of the model was a large magazine for 12 bullets and an integrated telescopic silencer.

FX BOSS

One of the powerful PCP air rifles, made in the design of a sniper firearm. The barrel of the model is made using a unique “smooth twist” technology, thanks to which the FX BOSS has high accuracy. It is an ideal solution for sports shooting enthusiasts and those who like to have fun while shooting at targets in nature.

The FX Boss is a limited edition product. You can only purchase it on order for 150-170 thousand rubles. The reason is that all design parts are calibrated manually at the factory. This guarantees a long service life without breakdowns.

Design features of expensive air rifles from 16,000 rubles

The main distinguishing feature of expensive rifles is the use of reliable and proven materials in the manufacture of the body and internal components of the weapon.

The barrel is made using alloy metal, treated with a special solution to protect against possible corrosion. Sighting devices, mounting strips and components responsible for the firing process and reloading are also made from this material.

Auxiliary materials in this case are impact-resistant plastic and natural wood. With their help, the stock, butt and pistol grip of a rifle are made.

Natural wood requires careful treatment and to provide protection from drying out and fading, engineers coat the body with a durable varnish. Plastic is unpretentious and easily withstands damage. In addition, this material is lightweight.

Sam Yang Big Bore 909S

A classic hunting rifle that is a complete copy of the 1866 Winchester. To give the pneumatic an aesthetic appearance, the manufacturer equipped it with only one air tank, which is located along the barrel and does not stand out from the overall design.

A special feature of the Sam Yang Big Bore 909S is that the barrel bore is made in a special shape, which allows the bullet to fly out at great speed without being deformed. Additionally, the weapon is decorated with laser engraving and notches, allowing you to hold it firmly in your hands.

FX INDY

The FX INDY air rifle is developed on the basis of two models - FX Independence and FX BOBCAT. It has an improved pumping system, a large compressed air tank and a powerful receiver similar to the FX ROYALE weapon.

The rifle is compatible with 7.62 and 4.5 mm cartridges and is designed for 4 consecutive shots without reloading. It has a rail for an optical sight and a mount for a silencer. You can buy such a model for 130-140 thousand rubles without a license.

Dragon Career Slayer

The weapon is produced by the South Korean company ShinSung. The air gun has a stylish design, is made of durable alloy, and the butt is made of expensive wood. The advantage of the Dragon Career Slayer is that it is sold at a low price, but the disadvantage is its heavy weight (4 kg) and an inconvenient reloading system.

However, these disadvantages are compensated by a power of up to 4 J and the ability to hunt with a gun such game as wild boar, roe deer and even bear. The weapon is compatible with 12.7 mm cartridges and 0.495 inch round bullets (Hornady).

AirForce Condor

The rifle is manufactured by the American arms company Airforce Airguns and in appearance resembles submachine guns common during World War II. The body of the weapon is made of steel, the gas cylinder is attached to an aluminum bar, and the forend is made of durable plastic that will not be damaged even with a strong impact.

The AirForce Condor is a single-shot design with an automatic safety and a trigger adjustment system. The model is also equipped with a power regulator, thanks to which the user can switch the bullet firing speed from 70 to 390 meters per second.

Winchester M14 - Best CO2 Air Rifle

the Winchester M14 Air Rifle if your goal is to have fun.

Lower temperatures result in lower bullet speeds. Therefore, it would be advisable to go for a walk with this rifle in sunny weather. At 16 degrees Celsius, you can expect speeds of up to 550 m per second and an impact energy of around 3.13 J. These energy values are clearly low for meaningful hunting, unless you are hunting small insects such as cockroaches.

Using the M14 Winchester on targets greater than 10m away may result in some inaccuracy. However, I would say that the accuracy levels are good for an all too fair price range. This is not a rifle that you can fire multiple shots in quick succession with. Wait 5 seconds between shots for greater consistency in shot speed.

FX IMPACT

Powerful and difficult to use PCP air rifle. Suitable for experienced shooters familiar with all the features of weapon setup. It has a lot of operation regulators, which can be easily knocked down if you are careless.

6-7 years ago it was believed that pneumatics were not capable of competing with firearms. However, now many American and European police, as well as some military units, use this type of weapon.

FX IMPACT requires careful handling and storage. It is not advisable to drop it on hard surfaces and use it at too high or low air temperatures. It is more suitable for shooting at a shooting range or on a training ground, but not for hunting and entertainment.

Gamo Hunter 1250

A high-quality and convenient spring-air rifle produced by the Spanish brand Gamo. It will appeal to sports shooting enthusiasts and small game hunters. The weapon design is classic. The barrel is made of steel and the handle is made of wood.

The rifle is compatible with 4.5 mm lead projectiles, weighs 4 kilograms, and the muzzle velocity of a bullet fired from it reaches 380 m/s. Gamo Hunter 1250 is sold at a price of 18-20 thousand rubles without a permit to use weapons.

Gamo Whisper Silent Cat - the quietest air rifle

Gamo is a 60-year-old Spanish brand specializing in rifles and rifle ammunition. Airguns and ammunition must be precise in every detail, so they design and manufacture them locally in Spain for better quality control. Gamo Coyote offers innovative products at an affordable price, which is why they are available in more than 90 countries around the world.

The Gamo Whisper Silent Cat Air Rifle has a thin but durable plastic body and rubber padding to absorb recoil.

The rifle is very light and compact. It is only 5.3 pounds and 46 inches long, with a barrel length of 18.0 inches. A short barrel helps projectiles exit the barrel faster, making it easier to shoot over long distances.

As the name suggests, the rifle is designed for quiet shooting. And, in fact, it is the quietest spring air rifle, thanks to the sound suppressor attached to the front.

An air rifle only costs about $150. It's an affordable price, but it certainly doesn't look cheap.

Walther Talon Magnum

One of the most powerful models of air rifles produced by Walter. It belongs to the Magnum class and is suitable for those who are just learning to handle this type of weapon.

The data sheet for the Walther Talon Magnum states that the muzzle velocity is 426 meters per second, but in fact it does not exceed 400 m/s. Despite this, it is the best of its kind and does not require special shooting skills.

A special feature of the weapon was a rubber damper pad attached to the butt plate of the butt. This makes the Walther Talon Magnum easier to use and improves shot accuracy. Additionally, the rifle is equipped with a compensator and a rail for an optical sight.

Design features

Layout

There are two basic layouts of nodes: classic and bullpup. If the first is a well-known rifle design, then the second is distinguished by its compact dimensions with a constant barrel length. The latter is achieved by using the space of the butt, into which the trigger mechanism is transferred.

Since it is difficult to implement a breaking or compression mechanism for bullpup rifles, they are produced in a gas-cylinder version (CO2 or PCP).

To get used to this layout after a classic weapon, you will have to spend some time.

Sound moderator or silencer

Reduces the volume of the shot and changes its sound (makes it different from a shot). It is advisable to use a silencer when hunting or shooting in a summer cottage, so as not to disturb neighbors with loud bangs. Sound moderators are sometimes made non-removable along the entire length of the barrel, which increases the bulkiness and weight of the rifle.

Instructions for zeroing an air rifle with an optic can be found here. All the nuances of this process: choice of position, distance, target, etc.

Sights

They differ in the presence or absence of an optical system and the method of aiming the weapon at the target:

  • optical sight - aiming is carried out by aligning the sight mark with the target. There is a general rule - the more expensive the optics, the less the average point of impact is lost during operation;
  • open sight - consists of a rear sight and a front sight, and is one of the least accurate sights. Its advantage is the ability to quickly aim in any light. For shooting at dusk, luminous dots are applied to the front and rear sights;
  • diopter sight - instead of a rear sight, a diopter (small hole) is used. When using it, target clarity and accuracy of hits improves. This type of sight is used in sports shooting.

Trigger

There are fundamentally two main types of trigger mechanism - with and without a trigger. Schneller is a device for reducing the free play of the trigger and reducing the trigger force. The cocking of the sneller is carried out additionally, after cocking the main trigger device. The trigger gun is commonly used in sport shooting because it can cause accidental shots.

The trigger mechanism without a trigger consists of a trigger and a sear connected by a system of spring-loaded rods. Changing the position of the sear releases the piston in the cylinder or opens the valve of the pneumatic chamber.

Multi-charge

Most air rifles are single-shot, although multi-shot models have become more popular. Loading can be done into a longitudinal magazine with a spring feed (for balls) or a drum (for bullets of any shape).

Stock material

The classic stock is made of wood and is suitable for sophisticated aesthetes.

The most expensive specimens are made from solid wood, while the cheaper ones use plywood and other pressed compositions.

Modern plastics are not inferior in quality to wooden parts and are significantly cheaper. In addition, plastic is not so sensitive to impacts and is not subject to rotting.
