The Beretta ARX-160 assault rifle was developed by the Italian company Beretta and has been entering service with the Italian Army since 2012. In addition, it is offered for export. In particular. a variant of the Beretta ARX-160 assault rifle chambered for the Soviet cartridge 7.62x39 was adopted by the special forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Based on the Beretta ARX-160 assault rifle, a civilian version of the Beretta ARX-100 was created, which allows firing only single shots.

The Beretta ARX-160 assault rifle uses a more or less traditional automatic with a gas vent mechanism located above the barrel with a short-stroke gas piston. The barrel bore is locked by turning the bolt. Unusual for this class of weapon is the ability to quickly replace the barrel in the field, without disassembling the weapon. To remove the barrel, you just need to pull the bolt back and fix it there with the bolt stop, and then press the lock button (on the right side of the receiver, in front of the magazine receiver) and remove the barrel along with the gas outlet moving forward. The receiver is made of impact-resistant polymer, and the body of the trigger mechanism is made of it, combined into one block with a magazine receiver and a pistol grip. Another unusual feature of the Beretta ARX-160 rifle is the ability to quickly switch the direction of ejection of spent cartridges (to the left or to the right side), for which there are windows for ejecting cartridges on both sides of the receiver. Switching the direction of ejection of cartridges is carried out by pressing a bullet or other sharp hard object onto a special transverse pin located in the rear of the receiver. As a result of moving the pin to one side or the other, two ejector-reflectors located symmetrically in the bolt change their functions, ensuring the ejection of cartridges in the desired direction. Ammunition in the 5.56mm caliber version is fed from NATO standard magazines (compatible with M16 rifles). The 7.62x39 caliber version uses magazines from the Kalashnikov AKM assault rifle. The design of the rifle includes a bolt stop. The fire mode switch fuse is located on both sides of the receiver and provides single and automatic fire. The Beretta ARX-160 assault rifle is equipped with a side-folding plastic buttstock that is adjustable in length (5-stage telescopic mechanism). On the receiver and forend of the rifle there are aluminum Picatinny rail guides, on which various accessories and additional equipment can be installed (optical and electronic sighting systems, under-barrel grenade launcher, etc.). As standard, the rifle is equipped with an open sight with a front sight and rear sight, located on folding quick-release bases. Beretta has developed a new 40mm grenade launcher, the GLX-160, specifically for this rifle.

Description

The modified arx 160 modular system has an intuitive and safe design. Visually it looks more like a futuristic weapon. Made from aircraft-grade aluminum and durable polymer material, making it relatively lightweight without sacrificing reliability.

The assault rifle is equipped with a detachable laser rangefinder and an electro-optical sight, with night vision and thermal imager modes. Adjustable sights make fast shooting more accurate.

The ergonomics of the Beretta are thought out to the smallest detail. Quick release barrels. The telescopic folding stock is adjustable with one click. The rifle has a compact tactical carbine. The trigger is within easy reach. The location of the shutter stop lever allows you not to change the position of your right hand.

The Beretta 92 automatic pistol uses recoil energy, has a block bolt for single fire, and operates on the same principle as the Beretta 951 pistol. The magazine capacity has been increased to 15 rounds. Since the cartridges are fed from a double-row magazine, the thickness of the pistol is 37 mm, and the handle is made of aluminum. Unlike the 951, which has a tight trigger, the 92 has both a soft and a tight trigger.

The standard pistol of the Italian armed forces, like earlier models, has a magazine release button. The fuse is made in the form of a rotary lever secured under the bolt slide. The presence of a cartridge in the chamber is indicated by a protruding ejector. Italian companies supply several versions. One of them is the Beretta 92 S. The safety of this model is also made in the form of a rotary lever, but it works on a different principle. While the standard model locks the firing pin and bolt automatically, the 92 S model first breaks the mechanical connection to the firing pin, and only then moves the firing pin forward.

The Beretta 92 SB pistol has a decocking lever, which also serves as a safety lever and can be located on both sides. This version, with the help of which Pietro Beretta SpA conquered the market for handguns produced for the American army, was put into service with the Italian police, as well as the police of many American states. There are three models of the pistol: standard 92 SB, 92 SBC with a short barrel (compact version), special 92 SBS (special version) with a long barrel. The thickness of the weapon is 39 mm, the trigger resistance when firing using the single action principle is 2.8 kg, and when firing using the double action principle it is 4.8 kg.

Claiming to supply new handguns for the American army, Pietro Beretta SpA engineers wanted to develop the most optimal pistol, for which they improved the 92 S1 model. Finally, in 1983, they created the Beretta 92 SBF automatic pistol (today called the Model 92 S), which received worthy recognition in the international market. This weapon, 38 mm thick, has a comfortable, optimally shaped handle, as well as a large, angular trigger guard. The handle has a ring for a belt. In 1985, a slightly modified model appeared, but now there is no data about it. At the end of the seventies, the company launched mass production of the 93 R automatic pistol for Parabellum 9×19 cartridges. And with the release of the Model 98, descended from the Model 92 SBC, handguns for the 7.65x22 Parabellum cartridge appeared.

Beretta Expands Line of APX Pistols

Italian gunsmiths are beginning to aggressively promote their new modular pistol APX. Today, May 2, the Beretta press service announced that the APX Compact and APX Centurion models are being introduced to the market.

The Beretta APX is the Italian manufacturer's first full-size pistol made from polymers (Beretta previously released the Px4 Storm subcompact pistol with a polymer frame). The APX was created to participate in a competition to replace the Beretta M9 pistols in the US Army and was first presented in 2015 at the Abu Dhabi arms show

Last year it became known that the US military preferred the German SIG Sauer P320 pistol. After this, Beretta announced the introduction of APX to the civilian market.

Today it became known that in addition to the “full-size” APX pistol, a “shortened” version of the Centurion and a subcompact Compact model will appear on the market. The APX Compact and APX Centurion retain the full design and modular design of the Beretta APX, while being smaller and lighter than the pistol originally designed for the military.

The barrel length of the Centurion pistol is 94 mm, the weight of the weapon is 765 g for the model in 9x19 mm caliber and 785 g for the pistol chambered for .40 S&W. The standard magazine holds 15 rounds (13 rounds in .40 S&W).

Semi-automatic shotgun review - Beretta A400 Xplor Action - PROMYSLOVIK.INFO

The Beretta arms company has extensive experience in the production of various weapons for both the military and police, as well as for hunters, amateurs and athletes. It can be considered that this is the oldest of the arms companies, since it was founded in 1526. year.

The weapons of this company are more than known and are in service with the military of more than 17 countries around the world. The Beretta A400 Xplor Action semi-automatic shotgun is quite revolutionary in its design.

It was developed in the early 2000s on the basis of the universal and reliable shotgun Beretta A400 and is designed for a reinforced 76 mm Magnum cartridge. For more than 18 years, the Beretta A400 Xplor Action has been produced virtually without any changes.

This just goes to show the reliability, thoughtfulness, and quality construction of this semi-automatic Italian shotgun.

Beretta A400 Xplor Action - operating principle and technical features

The Beretta A400 Xplor Action is based on the use of recoil from powder gases. When fired, the bolt moves backward along the guides, catching the used cartridge case, which is thrown out with the help of a cutter.

At the same time, the firing pin is cocked into the firing position. When moving forward, the magazine clip feeds a cartridge onto the tray and, engaging the bolt, sends it into the chamber. That's it, the gun is ready for the next shot.

The gun is disassembled quite simply: the nut on the under-barrel magazine and the barrel are unscrewed.

The gun can be disassembled into only two parts.

The design of the “machine gun” itself is similar in appearance to many others: an under-barrel magazine designed for 3 76 mm Magnum cartridges, plus one more in the chamber. The stock and fore-end are made either of high-strength carbon fiber with a special proprietary notch, or of expensive wood, such as dark walnut. The barrel and bolt are made of high-alloy refractory steel, using chrome plating and bluing of the outer surfaces.

The receiver is made of durable, lightweight alloy

This gun uses solutions that are not found on other similar guns: for example, a special hydraulic brake is installed in the butt, which almost completely compensates for recoil after a shot.

The Beretta A400 Xplor Action uses a “soft recoil” system, which makes aiming smoother and faster.

Moreover, this gun, with the help of a special bolt design, is capable of firing four shots in one and a half seconds, that is, it can empty the magazine in one and a half seconds.

Modifications

Beretta A400 Xplor Action

The Beretta A400 Xplor Action 12 76 is available in 12, 20 and 28 gauge. The barrel length for the 12-gauge version is 71 cm, and for the other two 63 cm. All modifications are designed for the use of 76 mm Magnum cartridges, that is, for a powerful cartridge.
