History of appearance
The Jorge shotgun hit the market in 2006 as a civilian self-defense weapon and training weapon. The main users are employees of special units and security services. The ancestor of the Jorge pistol is the Fort 12P, and at the start of production these models were similar.
The Klimovsky Cartridge Plant simply took components of the Ukrainian model, assembled them, and put their logo on them. In 2007, a Russian factory learned how to make barrels that comply with the provisions of the weapons law. Later, a full production cycle was established.
The original Ukrainian trunks were equipped with trapezoidal protrusions inside, significantly covering the outlet hole. Therefore, it was possible to use cartridges with a power of only up to 50 kJ. Cartridges of higher power burst during takeoff, which negatively affected the power and trajectory of the shot.
The Russian manufacturer decided to get rid of this shortcoming. As a result, the Jorge traumatic pistol received a barrel with a modified interior, which contributed not to a point, but to an indiscriminate deformation of bullets. It became possible to use high-power cartridges, but the barrel began to be loaded more heavily and its service life decreased. Engineers solved this problem: they increased the diameter of the barrel to 1.2 cm and thickened the steel structure.
Self-defense weapon: Jorge traumatic pistol
Jorge's traumatic pistol
The Jorge pistol, created on the basis of the Fort-12RM traumatic pistol, was produced by the Ukrainian research and production association Fort in the city of Vinnitsa, and the NPO Klimovsky Specialized Cartridge Plant CJSC stamped these pistols. Since August 2007, KSPZ has been making barrels for Jorge, slightly changing the shape of the protrusions and reducing their height. Currently, JSC KSPZ independently produces Jorge pistols.
The weapon is made entirely of steel, with the exception of the cheeks of the handle, and is small in size, but also somewhat noticeable in weight. At the same time, the handle is very ergonomic. The frame and bolt-casing, as well as other parts of the pistol, except for the cheeks of the handle, are made of steel, without the use of light alloys. The automatic operation of Jorge's pistol works based on the use of blowback recoil. The return spring is located under the barrel, on the guide rod.
The trigger mechanism of the Jorge pistol is hammer-type, double-action, with a safety cocking mechanism. The safety lever, the lever of which is located on the left side of the rear part of the shutter-casing, is turned off by moving the lever to the lower position. When turned on, the safety locks the sear with the trigger and hammer, as well as the bolt-casing, both when the trigger is cocked and released. When the shutter-casing is not completely locked, the disconnector blocks the trigger pull. The double-stack magazine of Jorge's pistol holds 10 rounds. After modification, the capacity increases to 15 rounds.
Jorge's pistol has fairly compact dimensions, but concealed carrying under light clothing is still difficult. The undoubted advantages include a very ergonomic handle. Jorge's barrel has inserts welded into it, like a Makarych traumatic pistol. Jorge's pistol is designed to fire both 38 J and 50 J cartridges, and there is no need to install an additional recoil spring to fire 50 J cartridges. Overall, a successful pistol, with no serious flaws, except for the low shooting efficiency.
Description and design of the Jorge pistol
The Jorge traumatizer is made from high-quality weapon steel, ensuring the reliability and durability of the structure. The only non-metallic part is the pad on the handle. Due to the steel body, the traumatic weapon weighs a lot, but is compact and ergonomic.
The trigger mechanism is double, trigger type. The fuse is activated by moving the flag up. In the active state, it acts as a blocker of the hammer, trigger, sear and bolt. The firing controls—the safety and the bolt lever—are on the left side, just like a combat pistol.
The trigger has an original shape, but this is not a quirk of the designer. This trigger is convenient to press with a finger wearing a warm glove, meaning shooting will not cause any difficulties in winter.
To remove the magazine, you need to press the button located between the handle and the protective bracket. This is a convenient option; it is impossible to accidentally press the button. It is comfortable to pull out the clip with both your right and left hands. The sighting system consists of a rear sight and a front sight. Their adjustment is not provided.
Description
When you see it for the first time, you are unlikely to find it attractive due to its angularity. But once you fire your first shots, you will definitely fall in love with this pistol. Especially those for whom it is not the shooting process itself that is important, but related factors, such as recoil and the smell of gunpowder. Jorge will provide them to the fullest, and with a little imagination you will feel like you have a fighting weapon in your hands.
In production, high-quality weapon steel is used, which guarantees strength and a considerable service life. But, alas, the quality also has a negative side - the pistol weighs 830 grams. Although many amateurs are impressed by this, because the power of the weapon is immediately felt.
In any weapon, the main part is the barrel, and this pistol is no exception. The first models had Ukrainian-made barrels; they had trapezoidal “teeth” inside, which almost completely blocked its clearance.
This made it possible to use only cartridges whose power did not exceed 50 kJ. When using more powerful ammunition, it ruptured even before leaving the barrel, thereby reducing the power of the shot and distorting the trajectory of the bullet.
Russian consumers were not happy with this; there were numerous complaints, and the manufacturer decided to eliminate this shortcoming. For this purpose, the pistol was equipped with a different type of barrel. The changes affected the shape of the internal barriers, due to which the deformation of the bullet does not occur pointwise, as before, but over its entire surface.
The change in the barrel made it possible to fire more powerful ammunition, which naturally led to an increase in the load on the barrel. As a result, the service life of this part has decreased. To compensate for the increased load, its diameter was increased to 11.8 mm, and thicker steel was used to make it.
All parts for firing control (safety and bolt stop lever) are located on the left, as on military weapons.
True, although the fuse is in a standard place, its use requires a little skill, since the location is not very convenient.
A special button is provided to remove the magazine; it is located at the junction of the handle and the safety bracket. There are explanations for this:
- accidental pressing is excluded;
- removing the clip, possibly with either hand.
The trigger deserves special attention; it has a somewhat unusual shape. The manufacturer specially gave it this shape, based on the climatic conditions of the country. We have winter for six months with fairly low temperatures and at this time of year we have to wear gloves. So, this shape of the trigger allows you to shoot while wearing gloves.
The front sight and rear sight are open type and not adjustable.
Jorge has the following performance characteristics:
- length, width and height – 180x32x131 mm, respectively;
- barrel – 95 mm;
- unloaded weight 830 g;
- caliber 9 mm RA (9x22);
- equipped with a 10-round clip.

Options and modifications
From the very start of sales, the Jorge pistol became in demand.
But the manufacturer did not stop there and made several modifications. The most significant transformations affected the body, and there were also internal changes. Some models received a reinforced plastic base instead of a steel one, but this did not have a negative impact on the quality characteristics of the traumatic pistol.
Let's consider modifications of the “Jorge” injury:
- C - with a steel frame and without protrusions in the barrel;
- 1 - with a lightweight polymer frame;
- 1C - return to the classic version, steel frame and free barrel;
- 2 - a 2008 pistol with a steel frame and a modified bolt;
- 3 - 2010 pistol with a polymer frame and an optimized slide;
- 3S - sports injury with a frame made of stainless steel and polymer material, a free barrel;
- 3M is a 2011 pistol with a polymer frame and a stainless steel slide.
Existing pistol modifications
Since its release, the pistol has become successful and popular among users. But its creators did not stop there, and while it was being produced, they constantly improved it. For example, changes affected the body, and some internal details were also changed.
Also, in some models, weapon-grade steel was replaced with plastic with shockproof characteristics. The injury characteristics of this replacement did not become worse, but this model can be classified as highly specialized.
Here are the models available:
- Jorge-S. A distinctive detail of this model is a steel frame and a barrel without partitions.
- Jorge-1. The main feature is that the frame is made of polymers, although steel is used for the guides. Despite the different materials, the load when fired is distributed evenly. The changes affected the shape of the hook, and the model is also equipped with a different type of barrel. True, consumers express dissatisfaction with the fact that the external exterior is quickly losing its qualities.
- Jorge 2. The 2008 model differs from the above-mentioned one in its steel frame and new trigger lock.
- Jorge 3. In this model, the manufacturer returned to polymers again. Improved trigger release.
- Jorge 3S. The designated model from 2011 was specially developed for sports. The frame is made of polymers, stainless steel is used for the shutter.
Advantages and disadvantages
When the pistol went on sale, its quality and performance characteristics were impeccable. Over time, nuances have appeared that can be called shortcomings.
pros | Minuses |
quality and reliability | outdated model in need of modernization |
use for both self-defense and sporting purposes | shot power is less than that of modern models |
precision shooting | |
low cost for its quality |
Today, the Jorge weapon has already been taken out of production; it is impossible to buy it in a gun store. But it is still in demand, despite its outdated external and functional parameters, so those interested can look for a pistol on the secondary market.
Care
Even the best weapons require periodic lubrication and cleaning, otherwise their effectiveness will decrease.
The Jorge needs to be cleaned after every shot, even if only one shot is fired, and it also requires periodic lubrication. To do this, it is recommended to disassemble it. There are two options for this action: incomplete and complete. The first is mainly used for periodic maintenance, the second for its improvement. There is a complete manual for each action in the pistol passport.
The pistol is not currently in production. That's why you can't find it in stores. You can only buy from the previous owners with further re-registration in your name. The price is naturally negotiable, but for information, let us inform you that at one time it started from 20 thousand rubles.
