Crosman – air rifle 2100, 1077, Vantage NP, Optimus, Benjamin Marauder

The Crosman Benjamin Marauder air rifle is one of the most modern models produced by the American arms factory. The weapon is distinguished by non-standard technical characteristics, a built-in silencer, a magazine for 10 bullets, a bolt cocking, as well as small dimensions, which allows it to be used equally effectively during hunting or training shooting.

Crosman 2100 rifle (Crossman or Grossman)

Crosman 2100 b (Crossman or Grossman) is a pump-action air rifle model that is ideal not only for professional shooters, but also for beginners.
A shot from such a weapon is possible due to the pressure created by manually pumping air into the tank. This pressure is regulated by pumping, the number of which subsequently determines the speed of the bullet and the force of the shot. This unusual rifle mechanism allows you to fire shots not only in an open area, but also indoors. The presented Crosman 2100 pump-action air rifle is not suitable for self-defense, but it is ideal for sports and entertainment purposes. The main advantage of this weapon model is the absence of cylinders that require constant changing. In addition, the price of the Crosman 2100 rifle varies from 6,500 to 8,000 rubles.

Design

The design of the rifle is another feature that makes the model stand out from the general background. On the one hand, the design is not particularly complicated, which allows even an inexperienced owner to carry out incomplete disassembly. On the other hand, the rifle has several features that make the operation process easier and also increase the degree of pleasure when shooting:

  1. Silencer built into the barrel. And we are not talking about a simple sound moderator that dampens 80% of the sound. The silencer here is no worse than the one that is attached to a firearm. The system does not affect the accuracy of the fire and the speed of the bullet, making it a real godsend for the hunter, as well as for people who prefer to use weapons in confined spaces.
  2. Bolt cocking system. Unlike fracture and sports rifles with a biathlon cocking, this weapon was designed specifically for hunters, and therefore uses the reloading system that is most convenient for hunting. To feed a bullet from the magazine, just pull the lever located on the barrel.
  3. Pre-pumping mechanism. Thanks to the PCP system integrated into the weapon, the owner does not have to worry about not having enough capacity in the tank for hunting and having to return home in the middle of the hunt. At any time, you can simply pump up the balloon using the built-in pump.

Now a little about the material from which the weapon is made. For the manufacture of metal parts, high-quality carbon steel was used, which underwent a cold hardening procedure. Thanks to this material, the service life of the weapon is measured in several years, and the barrel can withstand loads of up to 100 J. The wooden stock and stock are made of high-quality American hazel, which has undergone a total drying procedure and is coated with a protective varnish.

Pneumatic gas model of Crosman 1077 air blower

The Crosman 1077 gas-cylinder air rifle can rightfully be considered the best American creation of the company of the same name among weapons with a gas spring.
Initially, the rifle was called the Model 1077 Repeat Air, but then the model underwent significant changes and became an exact prototype of the American Ruger 10/22 carbine. The patented weapon will receive numerous awards and is also the official training rifle of the American biathlon team. Some of its elements are made of high-strength plastic, so the product is quite lightweight, and its cost is affordable even for a weapon novice. The price of the Crosman 1077 air rifle is no more than 7,500 - 8,500 rubles.

The main pros and cons of the rifle

Despite the fact that at first glance the Crosman Benjamin Marauder rifle seems ideal, it still has a certain number of shortcomings. However, it would be unfair to separate them into a separate section, so that the weapon seems like a continuous set of negative aspects. Therefore, we have compiled a special block that lists the main pros and cons, so that each potential buyer can compare for himself all the pros and cons:

AdvantagesFlaws
Technical characteristics (weapon power is enough to hunt an average fur-bearing animal)Cost (40 thousand rubles - a fairly high figure even for hunting weapons from America)
Durability (due to the use of high-quality materials, the service life is at least 4 years)High percentage of defects (despite the high cost, buyers often come across defective samples that have to be replaced)
Built-in suppressor (one of the main reasons why most hunters choose this rifle)Heavy weight (considering the dimensions of the weapon, 3.5 kilograms is too large and does not allow teenagers to use the rifle)
Bolt cocking (this method of reloading is very convenient)High recoil (due to the small stock, ergonomics suffer)

Is the Marauder rifle worth the money? A question that every person must answer for himself. On the one hand, the shortcomings are not critical, and most of them can even be combated through modernization. On the other hand, 40 thousand is quite a lot for a weapon that has not only positive, but also negative sides. However, it should be noted that the uniqueness of the model guarantees its popularity for at least another couple of decades, since finding a weapon with a bolt-action cocking and a built-in silencer on the market is not an easy task.

Benjamin Sheridan 397

The Crosman 397 is ideal for those who are just getting acquainted with weapons and learning to shoot.
The gun is comfortable to shoot; in addition, it is provided with increased safety due to a double safety system: automatic and manual. Benjamin Sheridan 397 has a very attractive appearance; the rifle is made of lacquered walnut, impregnated with a special mixture that does not give glossy reflections. In addition, there is no need to buy gas cylinders and worry about the spring. To fire a shot, it is enough to pump regular air into a special tank, and the owner of such pneumatics can enjoy shooting for a long time. The cost of such weapons is from 16,000 rubles.

Disassembling the Crosman Benjamin Marauder air rifle

Despite the presence of quite a large number of design features in the Benjamin Marauder rifle, the weapon is not particularly difficult to disassemble. It is enough just to follow a certain algorithm of actions, and also be careful when handling parts:

  1. Unscrew the three bolts on the rifle body.
  2. We remove the stock with the butt.
  3. Unscrew the two screws on the bolt platoon.
  4. We disconnect the gas cylinder from the pump and bleed the air.
  5. We unscrew the trigger.

Further disassembly is usually carried out only if it is necessary to repair the weapon or replace one of the small parts. In any case, it is recommended to check the instructions included in the box and handle the parts carefully.

Crosman 760

The Crosman 760 pump-action pneumatic air gun is a huge success among Russian gunsmiths, and in the USA it ranks first among the leaders in pneumatics.
Not only experienced shooters, but also beginners dream of firing a couple of bullets from such a weapon, because the rifle is very convenient and easy to use. The quality of shooting and technical indicators are also at their best, and together with the attractive price, the weapon is famous throughout the world. Thanks to the pump mechanism, you no longer have to worry every time the gas cylinders run out and the spring becomes unusable. However, you will have to inflate the rifle with air each time before firing. Price – from 5,000 rubles.

What's included in the Crosman Benjamin Marauder kit?

When choosing a suitable modification, you should also not forget that the weapon has several configurations, thanks to which the rifle can be purchased along with consumables, spare parts or accessories that will be useful during hunting. Here are some examples of such sets:

  1. “Amateur” (40,000 rubles) is the simplest package, including the rifle itself with open sights, a 10-round magazine, a passport with performance characteristics, an instruction manual and a warranty card for 4 years or 4000 rounds. Suitable for those who do not plan to shoot weapons often or do not want to overpay for an unnecessary product.
  2. “Master” (42,000 rubles) is an ideal choice for those who plan to use the rifle not only for hunting, but also for practice shooting. In addition to the weapon with all the documents, the kit includes 2 boxes of ammunition (500 pieces each), 50 black targets (printed on a piece of paper), as well as a bottle of gun oil (250 milliliters).
  3. “Professional” (45,000 rubles) - the equipment is designed for those who plan not only to use the rifle, but also to carry out modifications. The kit contains everything that comes in previous kits, a professional spare parts kit, a reinforced gas cylinder, as well as several spare barrel gaskets and a rubber butt pad.

Crosman M4-177

In 2012, the American company Crosman presented the world with its next creation - the M4-177 gas-type air rifle. In appearance, the weapon resembles a modern rifled carbine of the AR-15 type. It was this design feature of the model that led to the release of the corresponding component. It is also equipped with additional overhead, a telescopic butt and a diopter rear sight. The cost of weapons is from 6,500 rubles.

Crosman M4-177

Technical and design features:

  • energy source – carbon dioxide;
  • magazine capacity - 5 regular cartridges or 350 spherical cartridges;
  • type of cartridges - copper or lead spherical bullets, explosives;
  • cartridge calibration – 4.5 mm;
  • primary speed of cartridges – 190-200 meters per 1 second;
  • rifle weight - 1.6 kg;
  • weapon model length (total) – 86.4 cm;
  • The barrel and butt are made of weapon steel.

Modifications

Since the Benjamin Marauder rifle from Crosman appeared on the market relatively recently, it cannot yet boast of having a large number of modifications. However, after a couple of years of sales, the American plant still managed to release 3 interesting models, which are slightly different from their predecessor:

  1. BP1763 is the classic Marauder, but with an even reduced barrel length and weight. The weapon is excellent for shooting at short distances, and also has a fiber-optic thread on the front and rear sights. Also often purchased as a collector's item.
  2. BP1764 is a rifle with a plastic stock and a stock that from a distance looks like wood. The telescopic cheek pad, which has several modes for adjustment, deserves special attention. Ideal for sniping from a distance of up to 200 meters.
  3. BP1764S - the model is practically no different from the previous one, except for the color. Many people liked the rifle with a plastic stock and butt, so the manufacturer decided to stop hiding this advantage and released a version with black polymer.

These are all the main official modifications released before 2019. We can only hope that the arms factory will continue to work on everyone’s favorite model and will please us with even more new models that will satisfy the requirements of certain groups of customers.

Crosman Torrent SX

A new product of 2014 in the world of pneumatics can easily be called the Crosman Torrent SX air rifle from the same manufacturer. It has joined the range of multi-compression pump-action weapons and adopted all the best from the Crosman 2100. The improved rifle looks more brutal, unlike a toy “gun”. In addition, it is suitable not only for professional shooters, but also for those new to gunsmithing. The price of such a rifle is from 5,000 rubles.

Crosman Torrent SX

Technical indicators:

  • magazine capacity – 5 bullets / 18 balls;
  • type of cartridges - spherical lead or copper bullets, explosives;
  • cartridge calibration – 4.5 mm;
  • primary ammunition firing speed – 215 meters per 1 second;
  • energy source – pump;
  • rifle weight – 1.3 kg;
  • length of the weapon sample (total) – 0.9 m;
  • The barrel and butt material is high-strength olive polymer.

Tuning and customization

The rifle needs to be tuned in two cases: if you change gas or are unhappy with the launch speed after purchase. The hexagon for adjustment is located near the pressure gauge. For carbon dioxide, 140 atm will be enough, but if you plan to work only with air, then you can turn it up to 200. This will not affect the speed, but will allow you to fire more shots at a time. The screw (next to the hex) for adjusting the speed is on the left side just below the magazine. It affects the amount of gas released, thanks to which the speed of the shot can be directly adjusted, but the consumption will increase significantly. To do this, unscrew the screw completely clockwise, and then back 4 turns. For a better understanding of the process, it is recommended to read the instructions that came with the rifle.

As for tuning, users themselves recommend replacing the barrel with an analogue one with a slightly larger diameter in order to reduce the bullet compression. However, the most effective tuning can be considered replacing the bypass valve, which has a positive effect on the speed, accuracy and quality of the rifle as a whole. It is best to give the weapon to a specialist for such an operation, since PCP pneumatics require precise fitting of parts, and at home you can simply break this.

It is also worth replacing the pressure gauge, since the original one is quite difficult to read, and the jackal is very small, which is why it is sometimes difficult to determine the exact indicators.

Trail NP 8-BT1K77SNP

The presented weapon model is an exact prototype of one of the latest products of the American company, the operating principle of which is a special pneumatic cylinder acting as a gas spring.
Due to this technical feature, you can shoot from the Trail NP 8-BT1K77SNP air rifle in any weather and at any time of the year. In addition, there is virtually no noise when firing. Price - from 19,000 rubles, a relatively high cost, if not compared with Diana 350. Trail NP 8-BT1K77SNP

Technical and design features:

  • type of weapon - nitro-piston;
  • magazine capacity – 1 cartridge;
  • type of cartridges - copper or lead spherical bullets, explosives;
  • cartridge caliber – 4.5 mm;
  • primary ammunition firing speed - 365 meters per 1 second (slightly inferior to the Hatsan 125 air rifle);
  • rifle weight - 3.6 kg;
  • sample length (total) – 111 cm;
  • steel barrel;
  • the stock is made of high-strength polymer.

Disassembly

Disassembling the rifle is quite simple, but it only makes sense to do it for tuning, which is best left to a specialist, since the rifle requires a fairly precise fit of parts.

However, it makes sense to learn how to remove the false barrel, since it interferes with cleaning the barrel. To do this, unscrew the front plug, shake out the partition caps and that’s it. Then you can simply remove the casing. Do not use metal brushes for cleaning. A cotton swab with a long twig works well for this.

PCP BP 2263 Benjamin Marauder

The PCP BP 2263 Benjamin Marauder air rifle is a true standard among American-made air rifles.
This weapon has graceful forms, but strict strokes. The best weapon designers worked on the concept of the appearance of such a model for many months in order to outshine all currently available air rifles. These are justified by the relatively high cost of the product in comparison with other rifles of the same company. Thus, the minimum price of the Crosman Benjamin Marauder air rifle PCP is more than 12,000 rubles.

PCP BP 2263 Benjamin Marauder

Technical indicators:

  • magazine capacity – 10 rounds;
  • type of cartridges - explosive bullets;
  • cartridge calibration – 5.5 mm;
  • primary bullet speed – 304 meters per 1 second;
  • energy source – spring-piston system;
  • rifle weight - 3.1 kg;
  • weapon length (total) – 1.09 m;
  • steel barrel;
  • the butt is made of wood.

Possibilities for increasing power

Due to the fact that the Benjamin Marauder rifle has impressive technical characteristics, the question of increasing power rarely arises among owners. However, if desired, these indicators can be increased using several methods:

  1. Replacing a standard gas cylinder with a reinforced one (with or without PCP). This procedure is very expensive, but increases the power of the muzzle energy several times.
  2. Trimming the trunk by 10-12 centimeters is a radical, but quite effective way to increase power to 30 J, but reduce the accuracy of combat at long distances.
  3. Installing additional barrel gaskets allows you to reduce the percentage of air being bleed, thereby increasing the speed of the bullet.

Well, don’t forget that the use of a high-quality lubricant also has a positive effect on the technical characteristics of the weapon. The better the composition was chosen, the greater the speed the bullet will develop while moving inside the barrel.

Crosman Recruit 525X is a pump-action air rifle that is ideal not only for professional shooters, but also for beginners.
A shot from such a weapon is possible due to the pressure created by manually pumping air into the tank. This pressure is regulated by pumping, the number of which subsequently determines the speed of the bullet and the force of the shot. This unusual rifle mechanism allows you to fire shots not only in an open area, but also indoors. The presented model of the Recruit 525X pump-action air rifle is not suitable for self-defense, but it is ideal for sports and entertainment purposes. The main advantage of this weapon model is the absence of cylinders that require constant changing. In addition, this sample comes complete with 4X15 optics. The cost of weapons is from 5,000 rubles.   • rifle weight – 1.3 kg;
  • weapon sample length (total) – 95 cm;
  • steel barrel;
  • the stock is made of high-strength polymer.

Upgrade

It only makes sense to change rifle settings in two cases: when replacing gas (compressed air with CO2, for example) and to change the initial speed of the bullet.

There is a dovetail-type rail on the barrel of the rifle, which allows you to install sights of any type on it.

The barrel can also be replaced with a similar one, but with a larger diameter, in order to reduce the bullet compression. The rifle stock is equipped with mounts for a bipod.

All weapon mechanisms can be removed and replaced. When replacing damaged, defective or outdated parts, it is best to contact a specialist, since pre-inflated pneumatics require high precision when fitting them.

Crosman weapons are considered one of the best among American sniper rifles.

If you like to hunt, then you need an air rifle for hunting without a license, read on.

You can find out about all the advantages of a multi-shot air rifle at:

I open it and look. But no, maybe there is such a thing there. It seems to be packaged quite decently, although they saved a little on the polystyrene foam. But they wrapped the rifle in a bubble bag with huge bubbles. And they clearly have real Chinese air! The pump is encased in a foam-like material, but very soft. There is a larger compartment that is empty, with all sorts of pieces of paper lying at the bottom. Either it should still be there, or they just left it like that. The kit also includes a small package of some Crosman bullets, but they did not arouse any interest. If there is anything, I’ll mention it on occasion. I really wanted to unfasten the pump handle so that I could use the belt again, but it didn’t work out. I cut it off and that’s it.

The rifle was ready for use, except that it was not pumped up and it was necessary to remove the signature Crossman lock from the trigger. I forgot to capture it in the photo. And the pump had to be assembled. Well... Collecting is a strong word. All you had to do was screw on the handle and the claw. The screws were included. You need a medium sized Phillips screwdriver. Screws with metric threads, lower M6, upper (pump handle) - M5. If lost, you can pick up new ones

A quick inspection of the pump showed this. Pressure gauge 250 bar. Which, in principle, corresponds to our 250 atm, well, a little less than ours.

There is a alignment screw, very similar to Hill's, and there is something suspicious above it. This is probably a filter through which air enters the pump. The pump is connected using a hose and a quick connector. I haven’t disassembled anything about the pump itself yet, so there’s nothing to say. Well, except that the pressure gauge and hose directed in different directions did not seem to me the most successful solution.

Well, the pump is assembled, the rifle is removed from the box. You can inspect it externally.

A little about the dimensions and weight. Claimed weight is 2.32 kg. Next, this will flash in the photo of the section of the box where the numbers were taken from. The total length of the rifle is 99cm. Let's start the inspection from the barrel side. Having removed the protective cap from the reservoir, we see that there is a quick filling station there, a familiar system. Taking a careful look at this place, I discovered remnants of sealant sticking out from under the threads. Possibly sealant, because I haven't opened this unit yet. I must admit that I managed to see several more rifles and all of them had some kind of scraps sticking out in this place. Let's figure it out next.

Let's examine the original sights. Front sight. It is fastened with one screw, but it is not made of plastic. I can say with almost certainty that it is some kind of metal, because... scratching the inside I saw a metallic sheen. Can't be picked up with a magnet.

The same goes for the sight. The sight has primitive vertical and horizontal adjustments.

Receiver. Fully metallic. Even the rammer handle is drawn to the magnet. There is a dovetail 11mm, length 156mm. The groove for bullets is clearly universal with a 5.5 mm caliber; as a result, inserting and sending 4.5 bullets into the barrel is a little uncomfortable. The rammer's nose is clearly a bit thick.

USM. Everything outside is made of plastic. We'll get to the insides a little later. There is a fuse in the spirit and tradition of all Crosmans. Cross pin

In the forend, slightly in front of the protective bracket, there is a pressure gauge, which can be used to control the remaining pressure. In general, this device is more like a “display meter”, but it is better with it than without it.

Well, and the structure of the surface of the bed. It’s a little “rough”, but it’s obvious that it’s a type of wood, and I’m not good with them.

It seems like everything, they examined it from the outside and twirled it in their hands. It’s also interesting to shoot. What do they say about the performance characteristics? Let's see, on the box (packaging) it is stated 305 m/s. What weight is unknown. Well, okay.

I inflate the rifle. According to the pump pressure gauge, it is slightly over 150 atmospheres; according to the indicator on the tank, it is the upper limit of the green scale. To pump to these values, I pumped the pump 120 times. From an empty reel. Everything connected the first time and there was no problem anywhere. The only thing that slightly confused me was a slight bend in the hose. I think this can be easily solved, just put something under the rifle so that it is slightly higher than the level at which the pump is located.

Shot at the chron (ibh713) DS-0.5 Scarab bullet, initial pressure 150 atmospheres. 304-304-305-307-309-307-308-311-309-308-310-310-309-309-308-308-307-306-306-304-304-301-301-299-297- 296-294-293-292-288-287-283-282-280-278-274-270-267-265-end of green air scale. 262-259-255-252-246-243-229 end of the CO2 scale. Further, the speed dropped just as steadily and double, then triple, exhausts began to appear, which indicates that the strike group was incorrectly configured. Well, overall the result is there even out of the box. The bullet was light (0.51 grams), but if you take a heavy one (0.68 grams), you’ll get 23 shots at 270 m/s or even a little more. Those. in principle, the plateau is immediately present in the rifle. But depending on the instances (and there was already something to compare with), the speeds are slightly different. Disassembly. It may not be entirely true, but that’s how I imagine it. So. First you need to push the safety out, otherwise it will not release the SK protective bracket from the forend. To do this, you need to pry the spring with something thin and manage to pull it out of the crack. A thin line or just a stud will do just fine. They took it out and put the spring back in place.

The fuse is steel. Perhaps one of the few metal parts of the USM. We put all the little things from this place and then into a box.

Now we unscrew the screw that is located between the pressure gauge at the trigger. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, not the smallest one. It wasn't tightened very tightly at the factory; there weren't even any thread lockers there. Don't lose the screw! It has an inch thread, then you can’t find a replacement, or make a new place for it. I already have experience...

We remove the bed and in front of us is what it covered.

Let me add here the removed stock, a view from the inside. The choice for metal is more or less normal, the coating is the same as the outside.

Now I remove the sights. First the front sight, under it there is a secret screw for fastening the muzzle, it is a hexagon.

The muzzle turned out to be metal, possibly aluminum or its alloys. Let me draw your attention - the muzzle does not touch the wall of the reel! If you press it a little towards the rezik, you will notice how the barrel springs. Front sight and sight screws with inch threads! And the sight-

I didn’t remove the sighting bar, I think that’s understandable. Unscrew the pressure gauge from the rubber. For now I unscrewed it together with the adapter. The sealing ring is pitiful... The thread on the adapter and the plug in the M10x1 rubber I figured out why the ring was frayed - there is a conical protrusion at the end of the adapter. In theory, you should first put a ring on it, and then screw everything into place. I tried it. Horseradish. It doesn’t fit the thread this way, or the thread will completely destroy the ring. This means you need to lower the ring first, and then screw it in. He'll cut the ring again... I'll think about it. Either you will have to remove this conical protrusion, or chamfer it. It seems there is no need for it at all; in such places everything works for me even without a protrusion.

I twirled the pressure gauge in my hands and somehow felt uneasy about unscrewing it from the adapter. Either I was too lazy to look for the key, or the body seemed flimsy... I’ll leave it like that for now. In the photo you can see some kind of seal on the thread, as if screwed through a tube... Perhaps this seal holds the thread tightly. Okay, let it remain unsorted. The thread on the pressure gauge is inch, I already know it’s 1/8″.

I disconnect the entire trigger housing. It is held on by two screws, both inch (don’t lose them!), approximately the same size as our M4. The front screw has a transition place for the stock fastening screw. It turns out that the entire bed is screwed to the metal in virtually one “m4”... Not very much...

USMA giblets. Everything ingenious is simple, but at the same time primitive.

But! I must say thank you to the creators for leaving room and space, as well as half-finished moments for making changes for the better. For example, I have already found two options for easy correction of the mechanism that do not require a machine park. If you remove the lower sear, you can see two additional holes (in the cover too) that were kindly made to make adjustments to the lever system. But more on that later. In the meantime, I’ll add that the upper sear is extremely reminiscent of the Rat 1377 sear, if not even a copy of it. Both sears are hardened. The trigger is completely plastic, as is the entire body.

We remove the “eight” and free the barrel from the rubber. Everything is simple here, unscrew two hexagon screws on the “eight”, top and bottom, and that’s it. She slides forward easily.

As soon as I took it off, I discovered that the barrel had springed up a little. And not the barrel itself, but somehow together with the box... In the photo you can see this a little by the difference in clearance.

Now remove the receiver. There is an idea here to unscrew it in the following sequence - first the rammer handle; slots for a wrench (11mm) were prudently left on it. Then the top rear screw, again inches. Then remove the plug through which the screw went all the way into the plug in the pipe (resistor). Now move the rammer all the way back and we see the most disgusting and unloved screw by all rat breeders. It’s good that this time it was hidden under the rammer, it doesn’t interfere so much with sending the bullet into the barrel. But something else is bothering her. Okay, more on that later. I didn’t have a hex key for this slot size... I had to do the known thing - insert a clock screwdriver tightly and unscrew this screw. Thanks to the Chinese for not delaying it too much. When assembling, you will first need to cut the slot on it for a regular flat-head screwdriver.

That's it, the box is removed. Underneath it is the painfully familiar bypass bushing and rubber band (experienced rat breeders will understand me). The bypass holes in the bushing are 3.6 mm, under it in the transverse channel after the valve are 3.8 mm, in the barrel are 3.5 mm. It probably wouldn't hurt to bring them to a common denominator. Well, all the giblets of the box are assembled.

Trunk. Inserted into the box via an adapter. It was not possible to remove it from the adapter. The reason is simple - there is no required key size. Barrel dimensions. Length 609mm. general. From bypass to end (working) - 600mm. Outside diameter 11mm. Inside, like all Crosman's, the rifling is weak, but at least it reaches the end. A couple of longitudinal scratches, which, as it turned out, are not so dangerous. They come across them all the time lately.

The exit chamfer is not important, the burrs from the cutting tool are enough. On exit, the bullet noticeably catches on the head and skirt. The cone at the entrance is also quite rough, I would even say stepped, which prevents the bullet from being easily and naturally sent into the barrel. All this can be corrected using known methods. Under the adapter, in the free holes, I saw strange patterns, but I could not remove the adapter due to the lack of a key. And I was curious what it was there. Unfortunately, the photo of the chamfer did not turn out decent...

Let's open it further. Hammer, spring and plug. The striker is, in principle, an enlarged copy of the striker from Crosman 1377. It differs in the cutout for “that screw” of the box. Weighs 58.6 grams. Spring - free length 48mm, outer diameter 7.4mm, wire 0.9mm. It also seems to be a standard Crosman spring.

The rear plug (or back) has an axial hole with an inch thread. You can cut it to metric and build in a pressure adjustment, or screw in a long screw to bleed air from the rubber. The first one is clearly more interesting.

Disassembling the tank. Unscrew the front plug, then unscrew the three transverse screws of the rear plug, also known as the valve chamber. Now push the giblets forward with something long. We monitor the passage of rubber rings along the hole for the pressure gauge adapter. There we had to “help” the rings a little, pressing them from the outside so as not to injure their surface. I would like to draw your attention to the camera fixing screws. The thread is inch, close to M4. There is no question of any immersion of the screw head into the body of the plug, at best 0.6-0.7 mm, i.e. basically the entire load rests on the threaded part of the three small screws. Let's return to the reservoir pipe. Its total length from edge to edge is 653mm. (along a ruler) Outer diameter 22.3 Internal diameter 19.0 mm. A standard 12 gram CO2 can fits perfectly. And it turns out that the volume of space from the edge of the front plug to the edge of the pressure gauge plug is 127.5 cubic meters. see plus a little more in the plugs themselves and the valve chamber. I'm guessing up to 140cc. see it will come together completely (by eye) Photos-

Front plug and filling valve.

When I started to unwind it, I realized what kind of rags were sticking out. This seal is wound directly onto the thread. Probably something like fum tape. When assembling, I'll try to wind it there.

The sizes of the nuts are strange, on the quick 11.1mm, on the plug itself - 14.5mm. Also obviously in inches. Damn them... The Kwik carving is incomprehensible, either ours or theirs. It was not possible to measure it accurately. I tried to screw pressure gauges in there, using them as a thread standard, one 10x1, the other 1/8″, but none screwed in completely, only two or three turns. All this is strange... A filter mesh is rolled into the cork from the inside. And the valve itself. Locking occurs at the end, and not, as in BAM, in a cone.

Valve chamber and valve. For some reason, the front of the camera has a slot not for a screwdriver, but for a coin.

On the reverse side I found strange circular indentations. Having taken out the stem, I realized that there was a pressed-in bushing that supported the sealing ring on the valve stem.

The valve itself seems to be made of fluoroplastic, or at least it can be dented with a fingernail. This was not observed with caprolon. This is true for comparison. I would venture to suggest that if you replace the valve material, it may leak. Or maybe not, because... The pressure doesn't seem to be high. A little geometry and clan size. Locking plane along... along a protruding edge of conical origin. The valve stem is 4.0 mm in diameter, and has a slight thinning immediately after the valve to 3.7 mm. Air release channel - 5.6mm. The diameter of the maximum contact between the valve and the seat is 7.5 mm. Bypass (vertical part) 3.8mm. The valve spring is not particularly strong, nor does it tighten too much when assembling the camera body.

You can assemble it back. I’ll also compare the original pump, at least in terms of performance, with well-known others, but a little later. That's it...... (wiped sweat from his forehead) Conclusion? It’s too early, you need to exploit and watch. Some changes are desirable in the shock valve group. You can lower the plateau a little to an area slightly lower in pressure and/or increase the number of stable shots.. The quality of performance (in my opinion) is not high or bad, just acceptable. I haven’t shot this specimen yet, maybe I’ll check it after assembly. During the assembly process I will eliminate or correct it. I'll report back.

An air rifle is one of the types of ancient throwing weapons. People learned to throw a “projectile” thanks to their lungs and a dugout tube exactly when they learned to use an ordinary bow for the same purpose. But now, for target shooting and light hunting, you don’t need to strain your lungs or build a bow; just take a closer look at these amazing air rifles from the American company CROSMAN. And this review of the variety of this type of weapon will help you choose the right model for yourself! In order to prevent accidents, do not forget about safety measures when handling weapons.
