The most accurate tanks in World of Tanks! Top 10 most sniper tanks in the game (part 1)

Not just the tanks that have the highest win rate, but the ones that are truly the best in their role.

World of Tanks has many interesting tanks that stand out with their unique features and can bring you pleasure from playing them. But not all of them are able to easily cope with the tasks that are inherent in their role. We have compiled for you the TOP tanks that not only have very good performance characteristics and the best win percentage, but also play their role better than any other tank at their level.

Best heavy tank tier 10

Maus - Perhaps the only heavy tank that any enemy has difficulty breaking through. It is enough to set the correct angle of the hull and tuck the turret a little, and you immediately become an almost invulnerable rock.

Although the tank is slow, this does not in the least prevent it from pushing through its flank - 3300 HP (taking into account the installed improved hardening) makes itself felt. The main thing is that there is at least some cover from the allies. The gun here is not famous for any special power, but it cannot be said that it is completely useless: 490 alpha, fast aiming and good accuracy allow you to easily kill ST and LT that are trying to spin you. There will be problems with penetrating heavy tanks, because even on gold there is only 311 mm of armor penetration.

MVY (USA, TT-10, pumpable, mechanics: “Reserve track”)

Changes relative to the second iteration of the supertest.

Firepower:

Gun 1 - 105 mm Gun T141 [Stock]

  • Price of a sub-caliber projectile: from 1,000 to 1,065
  • Ammunition: from 42 to 46

Gun 2 – 120 mm Gun T124 [TOP]

  • Armor-piercing shell price: from 1,060 to 1,110
  • HEAT projectile price: from 4,400 to 5,200
  • High Explosive shell price: from 900 to 790

Vitality:

  • Cost of repairing tank durability: from 24,488 to 24,860

Best medium tank tier 10

CS-63 is an excellent Polish CT, the main feature of which is its excellent dynamics. The tank already initially has the ability to accelerate the engine in turbo mode, but if a turbocharger is installed here, the tank will be able to accelerate to 75 km/h. Considering that this is a medium tank, with its inherent good armament, any enemy tank will have no chance against you if you decide in the first minutes of the battle to wrest an important position from it on the map, be it a mountain or some bush.

The CS-63 has almost no armor, but the gun has a DPM of 3200+ units, which makes it an extremely dangerous enemy in any firefight. The aiming is quite fast, and targeting the enemy’s vulnerable points does not cause any particular difficulties. UVNs of -8 degrees are perfect for playing off the terrain, exposing only the tower to attack, which can sometimes catch a ricochet or even tank.

Other advantages of WoTCalc.ru

In addition to extensive opportunities, the first impression and ease of working with the resource are very important. The site pleases the user's eye with a discreet but strict design, unloaded with all sorts of unnecessary garbage and a comfortable layout of functionality. It is also necessary to note the almost complete absence of advertising - you will not see any pop-ups or huge half-page banners.

Of course, the project does not stand still, and as it develops, the functionality of the site will only increase - new features will be added and old ones will be improved. But even now this service can provide a lot of information that is extremely important for any player. Thanks to this, you will be able to accurately calculate what your favorite tank is capable of and use it in battle with maximum efficiency, which will undoubtedly change the quality of your game for the better.

We will talk about medium tanks of the 10th level. Let's look at the most interesting vehicles and their features, as well as the differences between medium tanks and other classes of vehicles in the game.

DPM

It is also DPM, that is, Damage Per Minute, or damage per minute, which is the most important distinguishing feature of this class. Let's compare the average damage per minute for all classes, but without taking into account any modifiers:

  • medium tanks - 2746;
  • Tank destroyer – 2727;
  • – 2523;
  • Self-propelled guns – 2037

Obviously, the ST class has the highest damage per minute among all vehicle classes. In second place are tank destroyers, which in today's realities are somewhat imbalanced. But it’s much easier to deal damage, drag out battles and shine on ST. Why?

Stabilization

In WoT there is a hidden tank parameter - stabilization. This parameter determines the circle of dispersion when moving, turning the body, or turning the turret. If the player does not know the tank's stabilization, some hangar characteristics may confuse him. A prime example of this is vol.140. If you compare its gun with the T-62A, it seems that the object’s aiming time is longer. But this is not so, because in terms of stabilization parameters the ob.140 exceeds the T-62A +\- by 25%. This means that while on the move its aiming circle is scattered a quarter less than that of the T-62A. Let's compare stabilization on the move without modifiers. The indicator indicates the minimum increase in dispersion when moving:

  • medium tanks - 0.131;
  • heavy tanks - 0.189;
  • Tank destroyer – 0.197

We see that there is a huge gap in this parameter. Medium tanks are ahead again.

Stealth

Among the positive characteristics of medium tanks is a parameter called stealth. Let's compare this indicator with other classes of equipment. The values are relevant for a completely stopped vehicle without modifiers:

  • medium tanks - 13.61%;
  • Tank destroyer – 9.33%;
  • Self-propelled guns – 6.98%;
  • heavy tanks - 4.84%

Analysis shows that medium tanks are again ahead of everyone. Camouflage in WoT is a very tricky option. It depends on the height of the tank and the location of the dimensional points. It seems that the most stealthy class should be artillery. But by design, most STs are very low, so their camouflage is off the charts. If you enhance it with the appropriate crew skill, then you will completely stop glowing, and in some cases not even in open areas. It should be emphasized that the ST has a smaller gun caliber than other tanks. This allows you to shoot from bushes and glow much less than firing from large guns.

Speed

One of the most important indicators of ST. Even in the first games with robots and tanks, speed was a counterbalance to armor and HP. So now, medium tanks in WoT do not have strong armor. Their safety margin leaves much to be desired, for example:

  • heavy tanks - 2420;
  • Tank destroyer - 1993;
  • medium tanks - 1953.

We won’t even compare artillery; its safety margin fluctuates between one and two shots from classmates. As you can see, the strength indicator is the worst at level 10. But speed is our comrade and brother. We can take advantageous positions at the beginning of the battle, and then quickly change them if the other flank needs our support. In the same situation, the heavy tank will go into the hangar, and we can escape pursuit.

Rate of fire

This parameter most likely relates to DPM, but I would like to highlight it separately. We have the highest damage per minute, and the average one-time damage is the lowest:

  • Self-propelled guns – 1483;
  • Tank destroyer – 812.5;
  • heavy tanks - 496;
  • medium tanks - 373.1.

This determines our rate of fire. The data is given without modifiers:

  • medium tanks - 10.21 s;
  • heavy tanks – 16 s;
  • Tank destroyer – 26.3 s;
  • Self-propelled guns – 51.51 s.

It is obvious that in this indicator we are ahead of everyone. This means that for one enemy shot we fire at least two, and the fastest-firing CTs are capable of firing three shots. Don't forget about the Soviet small-caliber 100 mm cannons, which are capable of keeping almost any tank in the game on its tracks, even with upgraded repairs. Given our stabilization, we can not stop to shoot, but shoot on the move. Even if there is no penetration or you miss, another projectile will arrive in 5-7 seconds.

Armor penetration

A very important indicator for a tank in WoT. Medium tanks have remarkable penetration, but don't let that fool you. Considering that all medium tanks at level 10 fire sub-caliber shells, with the exception of the Chinese tank 121, there is some catch here, namely in the sub-caliber shells. They have a number of positive and negative characteristics: they fly quickly, are not afraid of screens, have high penetration, but their normalization leaves much to be desired. When shooting at long distances, they lose a lot of armor penetration. I suggest comparing:

  • Self-propelled guns – 344;
  • Tank destroyer – 290;
  • medium tanks - 260.5;
  • heavy tanks - 250.5.

Although medium tanks are in third place, using the penetration of tank destroyers is far from the easiest task.

Commanders!

After the official release of World of Tanks, we expect to see players of different levels. Some may already be an experienced tanker, while others, on the contrary, will press the “Battle!” button for the first time.

When you enter the game for the first time, you will have Tier 1 tanks at your disposal (one from each nation), as well as three empty slots for placing other vehicles (additional slots can be purchased with in-game gold). To instantly ride the selected vehicle into battle, simply press the button. However, you can pre-customize your tank by pressing a button - you can select the type of shells, and also purchase various equipment that will be useful in battle, such as a fire extinguisher or a first aid kit.

Tanks in the game are different from each other: they can be fast or clumsy, heavy with strong armor or medium with an accurate gun, inconspicuous tank destroyers, agile scouts (light tanks) or deadly self-propelled guns. After playing with different vehicle classes, you will be able to determine which one is most suitable for your playstyle. Feel free to experiment and choose the technique to your liking!

You may notice that tanks have characteristics depending on the nation or their “branch” in the development tree. For example, most German equipment has thick frontal armor and accurate and powerful weapons. British heavy tanks and tank destroyers rely on their strong armor and gun fire rate, but they are also slow. But American tanks do not have any distinct features. Therefore, if you are looking for a universal car, choose American technology. But remember that their armor is not as strong as that of British heavy tanks, and their guns are not as accurate as those of German vehicles.

While in the Hangar, select the tank whose characteristics you want to see. Click - in the new horse you will see a detailed description of the selected car.

The first column displays installed modules: engine, gun, turret and chassis. You can improve these modules in the "Packages" section. To get there, being on the “Tanks” tab and selecting the desired vehicle, press the button.

The next three columns show the contents of your tank: equipment, equipment and ammunition. To purchase them, select a tank in the Hangar, click the button and select the appropriate item in the drop-down menu. Equipment is sold only for silver, but equipment and shells can be purchased for both silver and in-game gold.

The “Hull Armor” scale displays the thickness of the armor on three sides (front/sides/rear). A tank's durability refers to its "health" - the amount of damage required to destroy it. For example, the T-15 has less durability and thinner armor than the M26 Pershing.

If the scale of any tank characteristic is not completely filled, this means that you can still purchase the next package of modules that will improve these indicators.

Additional information about each vehicle can be found on the official portal in the “Tank Science” section.

Good luck on the battlefields!
Despite the ease of learning, the online game World of Tanks is a complex computer game, with many parameters and characteristics, including tanks.
What do we see in our hangar with each of our tanks? Yes, these are various characteristics of the machine, but not only are the parameters given not all, but also inaccurate. Let's just show it using the example of a reservation, which is simply indicated in millimeters. But such armor exists only on a portion of the area of each projection; there are zones of weakened armor, and there is a strong gun mantlet.

The situation is approximately the same with almost all characteristics. In addition, part of the performance characteristics of the tank in the hangar are, in principle, not displayed, although they can be viewed on the website www.. For example, the UVN and UGN of guns are not reflected in the game client itself, but they can be found on the official World of Tanks Wikipedia. But not everything is reflected there either.

Let's begin to understand why developers are so reluctant to please players with the exact characteristics of game armored vehicles and a thorough description of the principles of game mechanics.

Best light tank tier 10

Manticore is a British LT that does an excellent job as a passive light at level 10. Its small dimensions, high stealth and excellent visibility make it an extremely effective firefly, and an accurate 390 alpha cannon can greatly upset the enemy at the most inopportune moment.

Among the shortcomings of the Manticore, one can note only the complete lack of armor and low ammunition, which is limited to only 20 shells - there is literally no room for error here. Overall, this is a very fun light tank, where knowledge of positions to spot the enemy and the ability to play very carefully are highly valued.

The best tier 10 tank destroyer

Object 268/4 – Of course, this Soviet anti-tank gun made a lot of noise when it appeared in the game. One of the developers even gave it the nickname OMON - like the fighters of this unit, this PT is capable of rushing in, as they say, from the ground up, and quickly dealing with any enemy. Excellent frontal armor, good dynamics and a powerful gun allow you to feel confident on almost any map in the game.

Although the tank is mobile, it still suffers from slow turning on the spot, so you always need to look at the minimap and notice in time anyone who is trying to get around you from the side or stern. With this tank, it’s enough to simply drive head-on at the enemy and destroy him in close combat with the help of a 650 alpha cannon and 293 mm of basic armor penetration, especially since you can sniper on Ob. 268/4 won’t work for you anyway - 0.42 spread per 100 m simply won’t allow you to comfortably target the enemy from a distance. But in a fight on the first line, riot police simply have no equal among other PTs.

Total

By and large, this article should not be considered an expose, because exposure implies some kind of deception.
In fact, the world of tanks game belongs entirely to the developers; players have no rights. We may or may not play tanks, and let the donors not think that they somehow stand out from the gray mass, but that’s a different story. Let’s just note here that not all the performance characteristics of the tanks, and the parameters of the game, are known to us. The developers simply did not include a lot of things in the game client, so as not to burden the average player who came to the world of tanks to relax with unnecessary data. The developers keep other game parameters secret to make the game easier to manipulate.

Tankers!

The release of update 9.15 will give players expanded information about the tactical and technical characteristics of combat vehicles - both those in the Hangar and those just waiting to be studied or purchased. You will have access to information about new parameters, such as vehicle camouflage, vertical aiming angles, and some others. Dynamic changes in performance characteristics will also be added depending on the installed equipment, modules, equipment (including camouflage), skills and abilities of the crew. There will be an opportunity to familiarize yourself in advance with the characteristics of a new, not yet purchased tank and carefully examine its appearance.

Below we will tell you in more detail about the updated display of vehicle parameters in the Hangar.

New performance characteristics format

In the game settings, it will be possible to choose the usual format for displaying vehicle parameters or switch to a new one - the so-called simplified performance characteristics. To do this, you need to go to the settings menu and check or uncheck the “Show simplified performance characteristics in the Hangar” box.

Simplified performance characteristics

- these are selected groups of characteristics that combine parameters that are similar in their influence on the conduct of combat. We divided all parameters into five groups: firepower, survivability, mobility, camouflage, surveillance.

  • Firepower
    is a group of parameters that describe the combat qualities of a gun and aiming parameters:
  • damage from a basic projectile;
  • armor penetration of the base projectile;
  • gun rate of fire;
  • gun reload time;
  • horizontal guidance speed;
  • turret rotation speed;
  • turret rotation angles;
  • elevation angles;
  • horizontal aiming angles;
  • reloading the magazine/drum (if equipped);
  • mixing time;
  • spread 100 meters;
  • average damage per minute.
  • Vitality
    is a group of parameters that affect the combat qualities of a tank, increasing its survivability in battle:
    • number of strength points;
    • hull reservation;
    • tower reservation.
  • Mobility
    is a group of parameters that describe the mobility of the machine:
    • weight/maximum weight of the tank;
    • engine power;
    • specific power (ratio of tank mass and engine power);
    • maximum forward and reverse speed;
    • chassis turning speed.
  • Camouflage
    is a new parameter indicating the effectiveness of the tank’s camouflage:
    • invisibility of a stationary vehicle (before and after the shot);
    • invisibility of the vehicle in motion (before and after the shot);
  • Surveillance
    is a group of parameters that affect the effectiveness of detecting enemy equipment and radio communications with allies:
    • viewing range;
    • communication range.

    Dynamic performance characteristics

    Dynamic are parameters that can change their value after installing equipment, as they study the main specialty of tankers, as well as skills and abilities, install various equipment and new modules. Changes in performance characteristics in one direction or another will be displayed in the Hangar. So, for example, if the entire crew has mastered the “Combat Brotherhood” skill, you will be able to see the effect it has on the parameters of the combat vehicle.

    The information messages that appear when you hover and hold the cursor over the icon of a module or equipment have also changed. Now from them you will not only receive general information about the module, but also learn in advance about changes in performance characteristics that will occur after its installation. This will allow you to be aware of what exactly the module or equipment affects and how, and make an informed decision.

    In addition to dynamic performance characteristics, other information appeared on the pop-up screens. For example, notifications describing shells now contain information about armor penetration at a distance.

    Vehicle preview mode

    You will have the opportunity to study the new tank in detail before purchasing, not only its combat qualities, but also its appearance: players will have access to a preview of a combat vehicle that has not yet been purchased in the Hangar. You can go to the preview screen from the research tree, from the Warehouse or from the Store.

    While viewing, you will see what the vehicle looks like, you will be able to find out the performance characteristics in various configurations of modules (for example, with a basic or “top” gun) and get a general idea of the tank’s features.

    Best heavy tank tier 9

    AMX M4 ml. 51 is a rare representative of the French tanks in the game that can actually tank. Many same-level opponents have difficulty penetrating him head-on, not to mention tanks of a lower level, which cannot do anything to him at all.

    But excellent frontal armor is not the only advantage of the M4 mle. 51. A good accurate cannon with 400 alpha, with a base armor penetration of 257 mm, is installed on the tank, which allows you to play on the tank practically without using gold. The only disadvantages include the cardboard sides and rear of the hull, into which a landmine can often fly in for full damage, as well as the high silhouette of the tank, which is difficult to completely hide behind cover. But the turret tanks well here, and the UVH is -8 degrees, so you can play from the turret on this tank quite effectively.

    Tanks

    This section contains information about tanks of both domestic and foreign production. You will be able to find materials about the history of the creation of combat vehicles, their descriptions and technical characteristics, as well as get acquainted with facts that relate to the combat use of tanks. We will tell you about modern tanks and the legendary vehicles of the past.

    A tank is a combat vehicle with powerful armor, tracked and cannon-armed. The first tanks appeared at the beginning of the last century during the First World War. The homeland of these combat vehicles is England.

    The First World War completely changed the tactics of warfare. Defense in depth, the advent of rapid-fire weapons, and the use of artillery led to a situation that historians later called a “positional deadlock.” Neither side of the conflict managed to break through the enemy's defenses. The capture of every line or tiny part of enemy territory came at the cost of countless casualties.

    The first English tank, Mark I, appeared in 1916; it was imperfect and had only machine gun armament, but the first use of these vehicles immediately brought tangible results.

    By the beginning of the next world war, tanks had become the main striking force of the ground forces of the strongest armies in the world. It’s not for nothing that World War II is called the “War of Motors.” The best tanks of that time were in service with the Wehrmacht and the Soviet army. German tanks had no equal, but after the start of hostilities on the Eastern Front, German tank crews were in for a real shock. Soviet T-34s and KVs were significantly superior to the best German vehicles. It was on the Eastern Front that the largest tank battles took place, in which Soviet and German tanks showed their best qualities. Here you can find a comparison of tanks from that historical period.

    The second half of the last century was marked by a confrontation that today is called the Cold War. Soviet tanks were a real nightmare for Western generals.

    After World War II, three generations of tanks passed; today designers are working on creating new fourth-generation tanks. In this matter, our country still occupies a leading position: the only fourth-generation serial tank, the T-14 Armata, is produced in Russia. "Armata" is the real pride of Russian gunsmiths. However, besides the T-14, domestic designers have something to brag about.

    Russian tanks are a successful and recognizable brand that is highly valued in the global arms market. We have prepared for you a series of articles about the latest Russian combat vehicles, as well as about the plans that domestic tank builders have set for themselves.

    The United States of America is another country that has an excellent tank building school. The confrontation between Soviet and American tanks (fortunately, in absentia) was one of the central ones during the Cold War. Modern US tanks are sophisticated combat vehicles, perfectly protected, equipped with the latest electronics and powerful weapons. See a comparison of US and Russian tanks.

    In recent years, the number of states capable of creating and manufacturing tanks has increased significantly. China has learned to make excellent combat vehicles, and Japan and South Korea are not far behind. Even very exotic countries are trying to make their own tanks.

    Traditionally, good combat vehicles are made by Germany, France, Israel and Great Britain. We have prepared information about new tanks from these countries, as well as general trends in the development of modern tank building.

    Best medium tank tier 9

    E 50 – without a doubt, “Epis”, as it was many years ago, remains now the best choice for any extra among all tier 9 tanks. This is the most universal medium tank, which can easily be played as a TT when it hits the TOP of the list against levels 7-8, and in battles against lvl 10 it is an excellent sniper at a safe distance.

    Despite its large dimensions, significant weight, and, as a result, good armor, the E-50 picks up speed well and confidently holds 55-60 km/h on almost any surface, due to which it can very well ram the enemy, especially other light vehicles and CT, which do not stand out for their heavy weight and the presence of good armor. The 390 alpha gun, with a record fast aiming time, excellent stabilization and good accuracy allows it to be useful on any map and in any position. The tank has, perhaps, the only drawback - armor penetration on both the basic and gold shells (230 and 270 mm, respectively) will be worse than that of most of its classmates. But this does not greatly affect the effectiveness of the tank, since excellent accuracy allows you to easily hit vulnerable spots in the armor of enemy tanks.

    Sections of the site

    Tank comparison

    The main section that interests us most. On the left and right we see two columns with the tactical and technical characteristics of tanks. In the middle there is a “Comparison” column, where you can see the difference in the performance characteristics of the selected vehicle (the comparison is carried out relative to the vehicle in the right column, that is, for example, if the characteristic is indicated in green, then the tank on the right has it better than the tank on the left). The following functions are available in the section:

    • Studying all the characteristics of tanks - both public and hidden, and even calculated ones, such as average damage per minute. You can study the performance characteristics of not only the tank as a whole, but also each module separately. The calculated characteristics are calculated using reliable formulas and taking into account one hundred percent of the crew;
    • Comparison of tanks in various configurations - want to know how the stock configuration of your tank differs from the top-end configuration? You can specify the same car in both columns, and then compare the characteristics of the modules you are interested in by simply selecting them from the drop-down list;
    • Comparing vehicles in different versions of the client
      is a completely unique functionality, thanks to which you can track changes in the characteristics of tanks from patch to patch. Do you think that after the next update your favorite tank has become harder or easier to play? Using this service, you can easily check whether the car you are interested in has had a hidden nerf or upgrade;
    • View all tank development trees in the current patch - by clicking on the “Select tank” button, a list of nations with the corresponding development branches will open in front of you. Using this functionality, it is much easier to search for the equipment you need. However, you can do this by simply entering the name of the car in the search bar just to the right of the list of nations:

    Also pay attention to the projectile icons next to each column:

    By hovering over them, you can find out the detailed characteristics of each projectile, such as caliber, speed and range, average damage, armor penetration and price. Just below are circles that indicate the average damage per minute for a weapon using the corresponding projectile. By hovering your cursor over the circle, you will find out the number of shots and reloads that this weapon makes per minute.

    News

    An equally useful section where you can track changes in the latest World of Tanks updates, such as nerfing or upgrading vehicles, adding tanks, or replacing existing vehicles with new ones. Links will also be provided there, by clicking on which you will find direct comparisons of the changed or replaced equipment, for example, a comparison of the Japanese premium tank Heavy Tank No VI, better known as the “Japanese Tiger”, introduced into the game in patch 0.9.9, with Tiger 1 from the German branch.

    Best light tank tier 9

    GSOR3301 AVR FS is a British light tank with excellent stealth characteristics, basic visibility and small dimensions. Has the highest win rate of any other LT at level 9 for quite some time. It stands out for its gun, which has a very high (as for an LT) armor penetration of 232 mm with a basic projectile, as well as good accuracy and fast aiming.

    The tank feels great both in the role of a passive and in the role of an active scout. Despite the good performance characteristics of the gun, which can be used to annoy the enemy from unexpected positions, it does not have the best DPS indicator (only about 1800 units), which forces you to play it very carefully and not once again get into an active firefight with other tanks. Otherwise, this is an excellent firefly, which, even if it ends up on a city map, will be able to find a use due to its high armor penetration and small silhouette.

    The best tier 9 tank destroyer

    T95 is an American “turtle” - a tank that, according to statistics, is constantly fighting for first place with the British Tortoise. Unlike its brother, the T95 has a significant advantage - almost twice as much alpha strike as the "Cake", as well as practically impenetrable armor in the front of the hull.

    Even despite the general slowness of the tank (it simply does not travel above 20 km/h), the tank is capable of pushing through directions if there is at least a little support from the allies in case the enemy passes behind. With its 750 alpha baton and very good penetration of 276 mm, the T95 slowly but surely destroys any enemy in its path. And the excellent armor of the forehead and sides will not allow the enemy to penetrate you from the top and will force you to spend a long time in vulnerable places each time before firing a shot. If you are not put off by the slow speed of the tank, then the “turtle” will be an excellent choice for increasing your win rate, especially in a platoon.

    Best heavy tank tier 8

    VK 100.01 P is another German “barn” in our TOP, a tank from the Mouse branch that copies all its features, with characteristics relative to its level. It is very doubtful that you will be able to find any other tank at level 8 who can tank damage just as effectively.

    The tank is equipped with a cannon resembling a Mousegun, with 400 alpha and 220 mm of armor penetration, with a fairly fast aiming time of 2.3 seconds and a good UVV of -8 degrees. She lacks accuracy, but this is not so important, because he fights on the 1st line, since the armor here is able to withstand attacks even from tanks of a higher level. Slow, with a large HP reserve, this tank will slowly push through its flank, just as effectively as the Maus does. The best choice for all those who like heavily armored tanks with leisurely gameplay.

    The most accurate tanks in World of Tanks! Top 10 most sniper tanks in the game (part 1)

    World of Tanks players know that a certain class of tank has its own performance characteristics and advantages that are important to them and stand out from the rest, for example:

    • light tanks - maximum speed, dynamics, visibility, stealth;
    • medium tanks - gun characteristics (damage per minute, accuracy, aiming time, stabilization), speed, dynamics, visibility, and to some extent, armor;
    • heavy tanks - hull armor, gun characteristics;
    • Tank destroyer - self-propelled gun - gun characteristics (one-time damage, damage per minute, accuracy, aiming time), stealth, mobility, visibility, hull armor;
    • Self-propelled guns - gun characteristics (aiming time, accuracy, one-time damage, horizontal aiming angle).

    These are approximate characteristics for each class of equipment, which are important for effective roleplaying on a tank of a particular class. Today we will talk about the most accurate tanks in the World of Tanks game. Looking ahead, I will say that this top will be divided into 2 parts. The list of tanks will include upgradeable tanks, as well as promotional and premium vehicles.

    The goal of this top is to show which tanks you can use to hit even a squirrel in the eye.:) The second goal of the top is to accelerate the “accuracy” indicator to the maximum value.

    In the review, we will see indicators for the accuracy of guns, not only the “default” numbers, but also indicators that were improved with the help of certain standard, captured and boom equipment (vertical aiming stabilizer, improved sight), crew skills, consumables, i.e. . Let's increase the accuracy rate as much as possible! Separately for each tank.

    Grille 15 (Germany)

    Grille 15
    Grille 15

    - German tank destroyer - level 10 self-propelled gun, which has the most accurate gun in the game.
    The spread of the 15 cm Pak L/63 is 0.27
    per 100 meters (baseline). Impressive accuracy! High armor penetration and an accurate gun make the Grille 15 an excellent tank destroyer!

    Accuracy with standard equipment - 0.23

    Accuracy with captured equipment - 0.22

    We can confidently conclude that in World of Tanks you can get a tank with an accuracy of 0,22

    units! And the Grille 15 itself, a captured improved sight, military brotherhood and chocolate as consumable equipment will help us with this. When playing in a random game, instead of an improved sight, you can (should) install any type of optics or a camouflage net.

    Leopard 1 (Germany)

    Leopard 1

    — German medium tank tier 10.
    The spread of the 10.5 cm Bordkanone L7A3 is 0.29
    per 100 meters (baseline). And this is the second tank in the game in terms of “the most accurate weapon.” The tank is characterized by excellent mobility, excellent stabilization, accuracy, and visibility.

    Accuracy with standard equipment - 0.25

    Accuracy with boom equipment - 0.24

    In the first slot I installed a boom ventilation, and in the second - an improved sight, thereby we received an accuracy of 0,24

    .
    But because for Leopard, it would be better to have a vertical aiming stabilizer in the second slot (game configuration), which will give an accuracy of 0.25,
    then it is better to install it. But we achieved an increase in accuracy on the Leopard to 0.24 - thereby completing the task of maximizing the accuracy on the tank.

    Strv 103 B (Sweden)

    Strv 103 B

    - Swedish tank destroyer - level 10 self-propelled guns.

    Please note: The game that could. Part 1.

    The spread of the 10.5 cm kan strv 103 L/62 is
    0.3
    per 100 meters (baseline).:) This is the first “non-German” precision tank in our top. The tank has a non-standard layout with a gun mounted in the hull, which is aimed by turning the tank and tilting its hull using a special suspension.

    Accuracy with standard equipment - 0.25

    Accuracy with boom and captured equipment - 0.24

    I placed a boom fan in the first slot, and an improved trophy sight in the second. At the same time, we received accuracy 0,24

    .
    But because The accuracy is already high, it doesn’t make sense to install it, so we can safely replace it with a camouflage net or a stereo tube and in total we get an accuracy of 0.27
    units (
    0.26
    with blowing the air ducts - instructions).

    E 50 Ausf. M (Germany)

    E 50 Ausf. M

    — German medium tank tier 10.
    Spread 10.5 cm Kw.K. L/52 Ausf. K is 0.3
    per 100 meters (baseline). And again we have a German tank. Yes, German tanks are distinguished by high accuracy of their guns. This German medium tank is better armored than the Leopard 1, but is less mobile.

    Accuracy with standard equipment - 0.26

    Accuracy with boom and captured equipment - 0.24

    The first slot is equipped with boom ventilation and an improved trophy sight, which gives us a spread 0,24

    at 100 meters.
    We achieved the best accuracy on this tank, but in a game build it is better to install a regular, trophy or boom vertical stabilizer in place of the improved trophy sight, in which we will have an accuracy of 0.26
    units, which is also an excellent indicator.

    FV217 Badger (UK)

    FV217 Badger

    - British tank destroyer - level 10 self-propelled guns.
    Scatter OQF 123 mm Mk. 1 is 0.3
    per 100 meters (baseline). This is the first British tank in our top! The tank destroyer has excellent damage per minute, an accurate gun, good armor, but poor mobility.

    Accuracy with standard equipment - 0.25

    Accuracy with boom and captured equipment - 0.24

    Maximum accuracy on the Badger can be achieved by installing boom ventilation and an improved trophy sight, thereby obtaining dispersion 0,24

    .
    A gaming build involves playing instead of an improved sight - installing improved rotation mechanisms, a camouflage net, a stereo tube, or any other equipment that will help you more successfully implement your playstyle. I would install improved rotation mechanisms for faster rotation of the hull, along with a rammer and ventilation (ideally booms), which would give us a dispersion of 0.26
    units per 100 meters.

    Best medium tank tier 8

    M26 Pershing – other medium tanks could have taken the place of this American medium tank, but it is the Pershing that, according to statistics, has the highest percentage of victories. The hallmark of most US medium tanks is their excellent stabilization, and the M26 is no exception.

    In addition to a good stub, the gun has an instant aim of 1.9 seconds. and good accuracy of 0.34 at 100 m, which allows you to shoot accurately from it even on the move. But, unfortunately, good armor penetration was not brought here - only 190 mm on the basic projectile, but on the gold it is already 268 mm. Alpha - 240, DPM about 2100 units, but what's really cool is the basic visibility, which with a good crew you will have over 430 meters, and this is very cool at level 8. The Pershing is the most average tank, which has no overtly strong disadvantages, but there’s also nothing special to impress it with, other than an overview. However, among all other ST-8s, it will be the best choice. At least that's what server statistics say.

    Best light tank tier 8

    WZ-132 - this Chinese LT not only shines well, but also shoots it well: it is equipped with a gun from level 9 tanks, the alpha of which is 250 units, and the armor penetration of the base shell is 189 mm - this is almost the same as that of the previous Pershing, only that medium tank, and the WZ-132 is a light one.

    The gun is quickly mounted and has a fairly good DPM of 2300+ units, coupled with its small dimensions, all this makes the tank a very versatile fighter that can both shine and shoot, and in both cases it will do this with fairly high efficiency. If you prefer gameplay on medium tanks, but due to daily tasks or LBZ are forced to switch to LT, then the WZ-132 is perfect for you as a tank that has maximum versatility.

    Booking in World of Tanks

    A hidden parameter of tanks in World of Tanks is armor. The performance characteristics (hereinafter - TTX) of the vehicle indicate only the largest armor, for example, the sides of the hull or stern. For example, the A-44 , a Soviet Tier 7 medium tank, has 150 mm specified for the hull forehead, but only a small strip between the upper and lower frontal parts has this thickness.

    Without the help of special programs (the same Tank Inspector ), the exact values of individual armor locations cannot be viewed. A variety of historical reference literature, which contains reservation schemes for real prototypes, will help here. But few players are willing to spend time studying such books.

    Many hidden characteristics of tanks can be found in Tank Inspector

    The best tier 8 tank destroyer

    Rhm.-Borsig Waffentr a ger - “borscht” has already become a legendary tank in our game, on which a lot of battles were fought in the best times of the game. The tank is perfectly suited for careful play on the 3rd line, since there are two extremely powerful guns to choose from, at 490 and 750 alpha, respectively. The second one is worth installing only if you are a really good player and know how to execute every shot with far from the highest accuracy and penetration.

    “Borscht” is best played on a stock gun: it has a penetration rate of 246 mm on the BB, excellent accuracy of 0.33 at 100 m, and an amazing aiming speed of 1.9 seconds. The tank only lacks armor and speed. But this is not so important, because it is enough to know good shots on the map in order to distribute noticeable splashes to opponents from one point, and not be visible even at point-blank range. It makes sense to put a camouflage net on the borscht, since then even enemy tanks will have problems detecting you.

    Best heavy tank tier 7

    T29 - this American heavy tank is familiar to many players, as it has been in the game for a very long time and is quite popular due to its strong turret, good UVH of -10 degrees and a fairly powerful weapon with 320 single damage with fast aiming.

    Unlike most Tier 7 heavyweights, T29 can play from a position, exposing only his very armored turret to attack. The same cannot be said about the hull, because it can penetrate even tanks of lower levels. Another advantage of the tank is its good basic visibility of 380 meters, which is a record for a level 7 tank. The tank is serviceable, without serious drawbacks, and will be perfect for fans of positional firefights.

    Ground resistance, or chassis permeability

    An extremely important hidden characteristic of vehicles in World of Tanks is ground resistance , in other words, the cross-country ability of the chassis . This is an extremely important characteristic that greatly affects the dynamics of the tank as a whole. Developers try to give virtual machines engines similar to real ones, in other words, give them the same amount of horsepower.

    But due to balancing requirements, the virtual tank must be made either more mobile compared to the real prototype, or less. Moreover, such a difference can be very significant. For example, in reality, the American Chaffee had great difficulty gaining maximum speed even on good soils, but in the game it accelerates and spins well even on weak ones.

    In other words, the specific power of the engine, which is indicated in the performance characteristics of the tank in the hangar, says little without the importance of the cross-country ability of the chassis . A tank may have a powerful engine, but poor dynamics precisely because of mediocre cross-country ability. It is indirectly indicated by the turning speed of the chassis (usually the higher the turning speed, the better the cross-country ability of the chassis), but there is no exact formula for the relationship.

    Another extremely important characteristic of vehicles in World of Tanks is gun stabilization, in other words, the effect of movement of the hull and turret (or just the barrel) on increasing the range of dispersion. As in the case of cross-country ability, without stabilization the explicit characteristics that are indicated in the performance characteristics in the hangar mean little.

    One of the important characteristics of vehicles in World of Tanks is gun stabilization

    Best medium tank tier 7

    T20 is another tank from the US branch, an excellent medium tank that in good hands can show very good results. In addition to excellent basic visibility of 390 meters, the tank has a comfortable 240 alpha cannon, with fast aiming and extremely high armor penetration at gold for level 7 ST - 243 mm.

    If you have no problems with silver, and you really want to play for results, then feel free to charge sub-calibers and smash everyone to smithereens, because few other STs at this level have such an alpha, which means you can safely play exchange and emerge victorious from most shootouts. And due to the UVH of -10 degrees, you can easily play from the terrain and not experience any problems. In general, this is a very comfortable tank without any particular disadvantages, provided that you play on gold.

    Best light tank tier 7

    T71 DA – at level 7 there are quite a few fun tanks, but the leader among them in terms of influence on the battle is another American tank, which can be bought for silver in the in-game store in the collectible equipment section.

    A very fast light tank with a drum gun with 6 shells, which can deal 900 damage in a matter of seconds, which can be fatal for many level 6-7 tanks. But this is not the only advantage of the “stool” - the T71 DA has an excellent basic visibility of 390 meters, a high stealth coefficient and a high power density of 25 hp/t. The gameplay on this tank is very fun and versatile - you can either work as a firefly or support the rush of allied tanks, because the gun here is very brutal, even by the standards of medium tanks. And in a shootout with other tanks, they simply have no chance of getting away from you with impunity.

    Secret game KVG

    But here, yes, we are talking about a conspiracy among the developers.
    More precisely, there is no conspiracy, it’s just an additional element that allows you to correct the balance without any announcement. They are going to change the slope of the armor plates in 0.8.8 Super Pershing, what a fuss there is among the players. But you can change the parameters of camouflage and chassis cross-country ability quietly, without unnecessary noise and dust. A number of tank characteristics are not published at all. A very important characteristic is the tank’s stealth factor; you won’t find it. The developers themselves edit these parameters, without our knowledge and without announcing changes. Hiding behind bushes is useful - but to what extent? In 0.8.6 the effect of the bushes was weakened, but by how much? About 20%, but how much was it initially?

    Do you think that the dynamics and maximum speed of a tank depend on the engine power and the weight of the armored vehicle? Yes, but in a spherical vacuum, because the tank moves along the ground with its tracks, and the cross-country ability of the chassis is not announced anywhere. Sometimes developers publish changes to these characteristics, but what to compare with, since the value itself was not named.

    There are many examples here, and about each of them on www.. This gives the developers a wide field for maneuver; you can change the tank without changing the open performance characteristics, without attracting much attention to it. And KVG does not intend to lose such an advantage.

    Best Tier 7 Tank Destroyer

    AT 7 – with a clear advantage in terms of percentage of wins among tier 7 anti-tank self-propelled guns, the tank from the UK branch, a mini-copy of the very strong Tortoise, wins. You can just drive the AT-7 and kill enemy tanks one after another, and do it so quickly that they won’t even have time to hide from you.

    Stunning armor penetration with a basic 226 mm shell, excellent accuracy and fast aiming, coupled with a high DPM (2700+ units) make this tank simply a bending machine, which can be countered by little. There is armor here, and it’s quite good, but weak spots in the form of the commander’s cupola prevent it from fully realizing its full potential. The AT7 also does not shine with dynamics - it moves slowly, the speed is limited to 20 km/h, so it is easy to spin it. But with the support of allies and careful play, this machine can cause a lot of trouble even for level 8 opponents.

    New track concept (mechanics: “Reserve track”)

    Reserve tracks are a unique mechanic for tanks from the Yoh branch. The “Reserve caterpillar” mechanic appears on upgraded vehicles at lvl 7. In addition to the main ones, the new American tanks also have a pair of smaller tracks. If you look closely at the tank, you can notice them on the rear rollers. These are the same reserve tracks. If the front roller is hit and the main track is knocked down, the tank does not stop; it can still continue its movement. True, the movement speed is slightly reduced. According to the initial settings for the supertest, 30%. The damaged caterpillar remains lying on the ground and returns to its original place at the time of repair. This is a gaming convention, about the same as instant track repair on any other vehicle. If the second main track of the Yoh tank is shot down, its speed will decrease by another 30%, but it will still be able to turn, drive forward or backward. To completely immobilize a vehicle, in addition to the main one, you need to shoot down at least one backup track. In this case, the tank will completely stop and wait for repairs.

    Best heavy tank tier 6

    O- I – this Japanese super-heavy tank remains the only one from its branch that has not lost its relevance even after the nerf. Until now, OI is capable of delivering a lot of fun, simply because it can take out an enemy tank with literally one hit from a landmine. A sort of mini-bang, like the KV-2, only with armor that some levels 5 and 6 cannot penetrate anywhere in the forehead even with gold.

    The tank is slow and suffers from excessive attention from enemy artillery and light tanks, which like to squeeze into its side so that it is not possible to reach them. But nevertheless, this does not prevent it from firing 890 average damage with a landmine, which means this tank greatly influences the course of the battle. What can we say, when with one good landmine hit on the enemy side, its gun is capable of taking even some Tier 7 tanks. In general, the tank is fun and very interesting, although it is quite demanding on skill due to its far from being the most accurate gun and its huge dimensions.

    Best medium tank tier 6

    Cromwell is a British CT, which has consistently ranked first in terms of win percentage among all CTs of this level for many years. The whole success of the tank lies in the fact that it is as balanced and comfortable as possible in the game.

    In addition to a good specific power of 23 hp/t, the tank also has a good maximum speed of 64 km/h, which it picks up very quickly and maintains stably. In addition, he simply has an excellent DPM amounting to over 2500 units, so taking on an enemy of his level in PvP is not a problem for him at all. The downside is the low alpha of 135 units, but this is compensated by the high rate of fire and very fast aiming. A fairly comfortable CT, which, if urgently needed, can even play the role of LT.

    No need to complicate things

    No, you shouldn’t immediately think about the insidious conspiracy of the no less insidious Wargaming, although we will also talk about this in this article, but a little later.
    The first reason is banal and logical - players simply do not need detailed information. To put it in more detail and more precisely, most players do not need such information. I will say more, many do not attach importance even to the performance characteristics that are indicated directly in the hangar to the right of the tank. Developers need profit, which means their product must meet the aspirations of the majority, even to the detriment of those who are interested in all the performance characteristics of armored vehicles. In addition, there will be some complication in the game client itself; something would have to be thought about displaying a large amount of technical data, and this would be extra work for programmers, extra costs for developing the world of tanks.

    So simple logic and the lack of interest in technical details among the target audience lead to the fact that there is very little information about tanks in the wot client. Fortunately, those who wish can get acquainted with additional performance characteristics on official resources. But there are also characteristics that you will not find anywhere.

    Best light tank tier 6

    The T37 is an excellent American LT that shines especially well in the hands of experienced players. The basic view of the tank is 370 meters, which at level 6 is a record value among other tanks, which means that outplaying enemy scouts on it is as easy as shelling pears. It feels great both standing in the bushes and as an active firefly.

    The tank's gun is quite oblique, but with good DPM (more than 2200 units), and, in fact, the sight is always aimed at a point, since the aiming time here is 1.6 seconds, which is simply incredibly fast. Specific power is over 25 hp/t, and maximum speed is 65 km/h. This is quite enough to quickly occupy key positions on the map before enemy tanks and highlight them before they even approach you due to record visibility. An excellent machine for bending, especially with gold shells, their 160 mm armor penetration is enough for almost everyone you meet in battle.

    Which tanks are better: Western or Soviet and Russian?

    Comparative assessments of tanks from different countries are always of interest. Which tank is better? According to Western ratings of the latest generation tanks, the first places are occupied by the American Abrams, the German Leopard 2 and the French Leclerc, and Soviet/Russian tanks are somewhere at the end of the rating. Is this really true?

    The objectivity of ratings depends on the goal that is set, who makes the assessment, and whether it is carried out correctly. The obvious interest of Western experts in assessing tank ratings indicates the dubious objectivity of such an assessment.

    Let's try to objectively compare tanks of the latest generation of Western countries with Soviet/Russian tanks. Today, the most advanced Western tanks are the Abrams, Leopard 2 and Leclerc. Of the Soviet/Russian tanks of this generation, the T-64, T-72, T-80, which are not fundamentally different from each other, can be distinguished as the most advanced T-80UD, some components and systems of which have not yet been implemented on modifications of the T- 72 and T-90. The comparison can be based on two tanks, the Abrams and the T-80U, as typical representatives of two schools of tank building.

    Comparisons of tanks are usually made according to three main criteria - firepower, security and mobility, which together determine the effectiveness of the tank.

    Firepower

    The firepower of a tank is characterized by three parameters - the time to prepare and fire the first shot, the actual firing range and the armor penetration of the ammunition. These are the parameters that are set in the TTT for the development of the tank.

    The time to prepare and fire the first shot is determined from the moment the gunner detects the target until the shot is fired. Depends on the characteristics of the gunner's sight, the perfection of the control system and the loading speed of the gun.

    On the Abrams M1A1, the gunner's sight was stabilized only vertically, which significantly complicated aiming and opening fire, especially on the move. In this case, the process of aiming for the introduction of lateral lead on a moving target became significantly more complicated and required good training of the gunner. The T-72 tank suffered from the same thing.

    In systems with a two-plane stabilization system, a laser rangefinder and a ballistic computer, this process was dramatically simplified. The gunner only had to keep the aiming mark on the target; all other operations were performed by automation. Such a system was implemented on the Leopard-2, Leclerc and T-80U tanks. Subsequent modifications of the Abrams M1A2 were equipped with a gunner's sight and control system similar to the Leopard-2.

    The Abrams and Leopards-2 have a crew of 4 people; the gun is loaded manually by the loader, which increases loading time, especially when moving. All Soviet tanks and the Leclerc have a crew of three people; loading of the gun is ensured by an automatic loader in all operating conditions of the tank. In this regard, the preparation time for the first shot when firing from a standstill on the Abrams and Leopard-2 is 9-10 s, and when firing on the move - 15 s, and on the T80U and Leclerc - 7-8 s at shooting from a place and on the move.

    That is, in terms of the time it takes to prepare the first shot, the T-80U and Leclerc tanks outperform the Abrams and Leopard-2.

    Actual firing range (ADR) - the range within which is ensured with a probability of 0.9 of at least one hit out of three shots, which corresponds to a probability of hitting with one shot of 0.55. They try not to disclose the DDS, there is no exact data on the tanks, for this generation of tanks it lies within the range of 2300 m - 2700 m when firing during the day and depends on the perfection of the control system and the characteristics of the gun.

    On the latest modifications of all tanks, the gunner's sighting systems for the sight, laser rangefinder, gun stabilizer, and ballistic computer are approximately equal. A gun on Western tanks with higher ballistic characteristics. In general, the DDS on Western and Soviet tanks cannot fundamentally differ; on Western tanks it can be slightly higher due to the perfection of the gun.

    When firing at night, in difficult weather conditions and with dust and smoke interference, the DDS of Western tanks will be higher due to the use of more advanced thermal imaging sights.

    On Soviet tanks, the use of a 125 mm caliber gun made it possible to develop a new type of tank weapon in the mid-70s - guided missiles fired through the barrel of a standard gun. The firepower of Soviet tanks increased significantly. Now they could hit targets with a probability of 0.9 at ranges of first 4000 m and then 5000 m. Such missile weapons never appeared on Western tanks.

    The effectiveness of fire depends significantly on the commander’s observation devices, which provide target search and target designation. On the Abrams and all Soviet tanks before the T-80U, the commander had a simple optical observation device, which did not allow him to effectively search for targets. The Leopard-2 and Leclerc immediately used a panoramic surveillance device with two-plane stabilization of the field of view and a thermal imaging channel. On the Leclerc there was also a television channel in the panorama. The panoramic observation device was later installed on the M1A2 Abrams modification.

    Such a device is just beginning to be installed on Russian tanks; attempts to create a panorama were made back in the second half of the 70s, but for opportunistic reasons in the instrument-making industry it was not created. On the T-80U tank in the mid-80s, the Agat-S commander's observation device with vertical stabilization only, installed in the commander's cupola, appeared, which made it possible to conduct effective fire from an anti-aircraft gun and duplicate the gunner's fire from a cannon.

    The armor penetration of tank shells is primarily determined by their perfection; for a cumulative shell, the caliber of the gun affects it, and for an armor-piercing sub-caliber shell, it is the initial speed of the projectile leaving the gun. Western tanks have a 120 mm caliber gun, and Soviet tanks have a 125 mm gun. That is, on Soviet tanks there are more opportunities for improving the cumulative projectile. Western and Soviet/Russian tanks have approximately the same projectile velocity, about 1750-1800 m/s, and the armor penetration of the BPS is determined by the perfection of its core. On the Abrams tank, the armor penetration of the BPS at a range of 2000 m is 700 mm. and on the T-80U tank - 650 mm. The armor penetration of a cumulative projectile on the Abrams is 600 mm, and on the T-80U tank the armor penetration of a guided missile is up to 850 mm. According to this criterion, Western and Soviet tanks are not fundamentally different; the T-80U has some advantage when using a guided missile.

    All tanks used a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun as an additional weapon. On the Abrams and T-72 tanks, the operator needs to be outside the tank to fire, and it is easily hit by small arms. On the M1A2 Abrams modification, only armored shields were introduced to protect the shooter from small arms. On the Leopard-2, Leclerc and T-64B (T-80UD) tanks, fire can be fired remotely from the turret.

    Judging by the firepower of Soviet/Russian tanks, we can conclude that they are fundamentally not inferior to each other. In terms of certain parameters (time to prepare the first shot, the presence of an automatic loader, a higher caliber gun, missile weapons), Soviet/Russian tanks are in the lead. In terms of such parameters as all-day and all-weather observation and aiming devices, and a panoramic commander's device, Western tanks are in the lead.

    Mobility

    According to this criterion, the determining parameters are the power of the power plant, the weight of the tank and the specific ground pressure. In terms of power plant, Soviet/Russian tanks have always been inferior to Western ones. A gas turbine engine with a power of 1500 hp was immediately installed on the Abrams, and a diesel engine of the same power was installed on the Leopard-2 and Leclerc; diesel engines with a power of 700 hp were installed on Soviet tanks, then 840 hp . In the mid-70s, the T-64B tank was equipped with a 6TDF diesel engine with a power of 1000 hp. and a gas turbine engine of the same power for the T-80B tank. Diesel 1000 hp the T-72 tank appeared only in the 2000s, and the gas turbine engine with a power of 1250 hp. for the T-80U tank - in the 90s, and it did not come to mass production of tanks with such an engine. That is, in terms of power plant, we have always been significantly inferior to Western tanks, and the gap has not yet been eliminated.

    I had to watch at the Tank Biathlon 2018 how the T-72B3 tanks, passing in front of the stands, worked at the limit of their capabilities, engine power 840 hp. clearly not enough. Diesel with a power of 1130 hp. appeared, but has not yet become widespread on tanks.

    On Soviet/Russian tanks, this disadvantage was compensated for by the weight of the tank, and it was significantly lower than Western tanks. The Abrams started with 55 tons, and in the latest modifications reached 63 tons, the Leopard-2 also weighs 63 tons. Only the Leclerc, due to the use of an automatic loader and the reduction of the crew to three people, has a weight of 55 tons. Soviet tanks started with 39 tons and rose to 46 tons. Specific power on the Abrams and Leopard-2 is 24 hp/t, on the Leclerc - 27 hp/t, and on the Russian ones - 22 hp ./T. But with such weight, the Abrams and Leopard-2 have a significantly higher specific ground pressure, which leads to lower mobility performance.

    The large weight of Western tanks also led to another problem: in Europe there is no road infrastructure and bridges capable of supporting the movement of such tanks, and this turned out to be one of the serious factors in the possibility of their use in the European theater of operations.

    Security

    The security and armor of a tank is determined by the accepted concept of its layout and the established school of tank building. The Soviet school was based on the need for a denser layout of the tank's components and systems, a smaller number of crew members, and smaller dimensions and height of the tank. In this case, the ammunition was placed in the same compartment with the crew, which reduced the size and weight of the tank, but reduced the survivability of the tank in the event of detonation of the ammunition. The Western school was focused on providing more acceptable conditions for the tank crew and the possibility of preserving the tank in the event of detonation of ammunition.

    Therefore, Soviet and Western tanks are seriously different in layout. The dimensions of Western tanks are significantly larger than Soviet ones, and they are 200-300 mm higher, and the dimensions of the turret due to the niche in the rear of the turret for ammunition are almost 2 times larger, moreover, it is poorly protected from the sides and roof of the turret. Accordingly, the frontal and side projections of Western tanks are much larger in area and the likelihood of their destruction is higher. Thus, the frontal projection of the Abrams and Leopard-2 tanks is 6 square meters. m, and the T80U tank - 5 sq. m.

    To protect the crew during the detonation of ammunition on Western tanks, it is placed in a separate niche of the turret, armored from the crew, with knockout plates, which should be activated to relieve pressure when the ammunition detonates, saving the crew and the tank. In practice, when these tanks were used in battles in Iraq and Syria, if the ammunition was damaged and detonated, the knockout plates did not save the tank and the crew.

    Western and Soviet/Russian tanks use combined passive and dynamic protection. The Abrams has very powerful frontal protection and weak protection on the sides and rear of the tank. It has rather weak protection for the roof of the hull and turret, as well as the bottom of the hull. The armor resistance of the frontal part of the turret from the KS is up to 1300 mm, while there are up to 9% weakened zones. The armor resistance of the sides from the KS is 400-500 mm.

    Armor resistance from the KS of the T-80U tank turret is 1100 mm. That is, in terms of the level of protection of the frontal part of the turret, the T-80U is somewhat inferior to the Abrams. It should be noted that the T-80U tank uses the Shtora optical-electronic suppression system, while such a system is only being developed on the Abrams.

    Possibility of interaction within the department

    This additional criterion for the effectiveness of tanks was introduced not so long ago and characterizes the ability of a tank to carry out a given task as part of a unit when interacting with aviation for fire support of tanks, artillery and motorized rifle units, the so-called network-centric battle control. For these purposes, first-generation TIUS-based systems have already been installed on the Leclerc and Abrams tanks, ensuring interaction and automated transmission of information and control commands. The development of such a system was first started for Soviet tanks in the early 80s, but with the collapse of the Union, work was curtailed. The Leclerc tank has made the most progress in creating a network-centric system. This is not the case on Russian tanks of the current generation; elements of a network-centric system are planned to be implemented on the Armata tank.

    A comparative analysis of the characteristics of Western and Soviet/Russian tanks shows that according to the main criteria they are fundamentally not inferior to each other. In some cases, Western tanks win, in others, Soviet/Russian tanks win. So, in terms of low silhouette, weight, the presence of an automatic loader and guided weapons, Soviet/Russian tanks win, and Western tanks win in terms of the power of the power plant, all-day and all-weather sights and surveillance devices.

    It is hardly justified to assert a clear advantage of one or another tank based on a set of criteria. These are tanks of the same generation; in some criteria they are superior, in others they are inferior to each other; for a qualitative leap in the main criteria of tank efficiency, a new generation tank is needed.

    The best tier 6 tank destroyer

    AT 8 is a British anti-tank self-propelled gun, another tank from the Badger branch. Unlike its older brother AT-7, which is also the best AT at its level, AT-8 has one important feature - a higher rate of fire, which is about 3.5 seconds, which allows you to keep the enemy on the rink literally until he of death.

    A very high DPM of 2600 units, albeit with a small alpha strike of 160, excellent accuracy and instant aim allow this machine to simply drive forward and destroy opponents one by one. Although there is armor, you shouldn’t rely on it too much, and taking into account the fact that at 6 levels the enemies don’t have much HP, then with such a fierce DPM this tank will demolish enemies in a matter of seconds. It is not difficult to guess that this vehicle has a high influence on the course of the battle, especially on its flank.

    German medium tank T-4 (Panzerkampfwagen IV in modification H)

    — In April 1943, in parallel, the production of vehicles of modification H began, which became the most widespread in the history of Panzerkampfwagen IV. Additional armor on the first models was hinged, and was later replaced by a single plate 80 millimeters thick, we read on the World of Tanks website.

    “In our museum there is only the turret of this tank, which was fished out of the river. Now German tanks are in short supply. In general, the game model of the tank corresponds to its counterpart, with the exception of some things that, due to game mechanics, are not reflected in the game. The fact is that German tanks had excellent optics, which allowed them to conduct targeted fire. Soviet tanks that were produced during the war did not have good optics due to a shortage of materials. Front-line soldiers recalled that instead of mirrors, polished aluminum plates were inserted, into which it was basically impossible to see anything.

    — Because of its angular shape, the German tank was better able to penetrate shells, unlike the Soviet ones, whose armor was smoother - the chance of a shell ricochet was higher. Unfortunately, it is impossible to understand whether this factor is taken into account in the game mechanics,” summarized Alexey Litvyakov.

    We cannot ignore the premium T-44-100 (P), which is available to Rostelecom subscribers on the “Game” tariff.

    — The Soviet experimental medium tank was created in 1945 on the basis of the T-44 tank. It differed from the serial T-44 in the 100-mm LB-1 gun, for the installation of which a new turret was designed, as well as in the presence of anti-cumulative shields on the sides of the hull. A total of two vehicles were produced, we learn from Tank Science.

    Perhaps a good illustration would be a video from one of the battles on this tank.

    We remind you that only Rostelecom subscribers can get this unique car - for 800 rubles a month they have the opportunity not only to use the Internet at good speed (up to 100 Mbit/s), but also to go into another virtual battle in an elite tank with a pumped-up crew , knowing that a slot in the hangar is ready for a new combat vehicle. Summing up the comparison of tanks in the game and in reality, an employee of the Prokhorovskoe Field museum notes that the game models are in many ways reminiscent of their real counterparts.

    — The developers, when creating virtual models of tanks, constantly looked back at their real examples, trying to create authentic models. However, for the sake of game balance, they sometimes had to change the characteristics of tanks and combat mechanics in order to maintain interest in the game, says Alexey Litvyakov.
