What are the features of the silent Maxim 9
This weapon differs from others in the removable front block of the expansion chamber, which serves as a silent firing device. Approximately the same solution was used in the PB model pistol from the times of the USSR. If the front block is removed, then the reduction in the sound level of the shot is provided only for bullets with a subsonic initial speed and amounts to 139 decibels. If the front block is not removed, the sound level drops to 136 decibels. A removable block that performs the function of additional shot suppression is only about 30 mm thick. The lower part of the muffler is equipped with a Weaver bar for installing additional attachments.
The automatic operation of the pistol operates on the principle of using the recoil energy of a semi-free bolt, which locks the barrel using movable rollers. This scheme is not new - something similar was used in the HK P9, but in the American pistol the mechanism has been significantly improved. The trigger mechanism is striker-type, equipped with a pre-cocking function. The bolt return springs are located above the barrel and ensure its reliable locking. The pistol has no external safety locks.
The pistol does not have adjustable sights, but can be equipped with various red dot sights.
A Raven Concealment Systems polymer holster was developed especially for this pistol, which, like the pistol, has impressive dimensions, making it impossible to carry a weapon concealed.
They sell Maxim 9 SilencerCo complete with two magazines with a capacity of 17 rounds. This pistol can use Glock pistol magazines of similar capacity.

Pistol MENDOZA "MENDOZA" (MEXICO)
in Mexico City is widely known for its military products - machine guns and submachine guns, although in the 1960s it also produced the rather unusual K-62 single-shot sporting pistol chambered for .22 LR.
Externally, this pistol resembles a revolver, made in the Western style with a flared grip and a protruding hammer, however, to load this weapon, you must lower the barrel, which is held in place by an extremely simple latch.
The firepower of the pistol was enhanced by the presence of a loading accelerator, which consisted of two spring grips for three cartridges each, which were attached to the sides of the frame - where the drum is placed on revolvers.

Production company[edit]
Maxim founded the Maxim Gun company with financial support from Albert Vickers [la], the son of steel entrepreneur Edward Vickers. The blue plaque on the factory where Maxim invented and produced the pistol can be found in Hatton Garden at the junction with Clerkenwell Road in London.
Albert Vickers became chairman of the company and it later merged with Swedish competitor Nordenfelt to become Maxim Nordenfelt Guns and Ammunition. In the London Post Office Directory
for 1895 his office is listed at 32 Victoria Street SW (London) on page 1579.
The company was eventually absorbed by the parent company Vickers, leading first to the production of the Maxim-Vickers pistol and then, after the Vickers modernization, to the Vickers machine gun.
SilencerCo Maxim 9: new pistol with integrated silencer
SilencerCo Maxim 9
SIlencerCo recently released several new suppressors and also revealed a new pistol with an integrated suppressor, the Maxim 9. It is named after the inventor of the most famous machine gun and suppressors, Hiram Maxim.
SilencerCo Maxim 9
The Maxim 9 is based on the Smith & Wesson M&P and is slightly reminiscent of RoboCop's pistol. According to the company, this is the first pistol with an integrated suppressor that fits easily into a holster and provides a decent level of hearing protection.
SilencerCo Maxim 9
There are no detailed specifications yet, so the pistol is in the final stages of development. More information is expected next year. But in the videos below you can see the work of the pistol prototypes.
The idea of pistols with an integrated silencer is not new - back during World War II, British commandos successfully eliminated enemies behind Nazi lines and in occupied Asia using a pistol called the Welrod. Usually the suppressor is built into the pistol, but in the case of the Welrod, the pistol was built into the suppressor.
Welrod
In order to prevent the leakage of powder gases, a sliding bolt for manual reloading was installed in the pistol. This allowed for a quick second shot and eliminated the need for a safety.
The muffler consisted of 12 thin metal partitions, divided into groups using three leather inserts. The effective operation of the silencer was enough for 15-20 shots. A recess in the front of the muffler made it possible to fire a shot at point-blank range without backfiring. The magazine, which was worn in a leather sleeve and resembled the handle of a bicycle handlebar, also served as the handle of a pistol.
Welrod
A useful feature of the pistol was that it could be disassembled into parts that resembled not a weapon, but a bicycle pump. It fired standard cartridges - 9mm or .32ACP (7.62x17mm). Weight – 1.5 kg, total length – 36 cm. In total, about 16 thousand units were produced.
The BT Vet gun
Its successor was the “Veterinary” pistol from Brugger & Thomet. It is made from modern polymer materials and metal, which reduces the weight to 850 grams and the length to 29 cm. The caliber is 9 mm. But this non-automatic pistol was not intended to eliminate sentries - it is used to send sick and wounded wild animals to the next world.
SRT Rugers
A pistol chambered for rimfire is also not new. The American company SRT integrates 7-inch mufflers on Browning Buckmark and Ruger MkIII models. They are used by the military, who fire them with CCI MiniMag ammunition with a 40-grain bullet. The price of such a pistol starts at $725.
The Ruger-based AWC Amphibian
Companies such as Dark Horse, Norrell, AWC, and Coastal also integrate suppressors, but there are currently 3,026 registered SOT dealers in the United States that are authorized to produce suppressors as well as NFA weapons. So there may be tens of times more muffler manufacturers.
