— Description from the game.
Pistol HK P2000 / P2000 SK
Pistol HK P2000 caliber 9 mm
HK P2000 SK with LEM trigger, which has a lower trigger pull on the first shot
The P2000, which began production in 2001, is nothing more than a modernized USP pistol in order to reduce its size and versatility in use. However, this is not just a slightly redesigned old pistol with a couple of innovations. The basic design of the P2000 certainly remains the same, for example, the locking system still includes a buffer spring mechanism to reduce the effects of recoil. But the weapon can still be considered an independent model due to changes made by the company’s designers and engineers.
The shutter-casing is now significantly different from its prototype. The creators of the pistol did everything to reduce its dimensions as much as possible and adapt it for concealed carry. This part, milled from high-quality steel, is not only different visually, but also actually more compact in practice - smaller in width, with beveled edges, it is no longer that huge USP bolt-casing. The shutter-casing has a special high-strength and wear-resistant matte “Hostile Environment” coating (hostile environment), which perfectly protects the steel from corrosion. A barrel bore with polygonal rifling has such advantages as a long service life, easy cleaning and less breakthrough of powder gases.
The frame is made of high-strength polymer with stainless steel inserts and steel guides, and also has grooves in the front for attaching additional accessories; however, a tactical flashlight or laser designator is rarely installed on a compact pistol. The P2000 SK is equipped with a damping mechanism to absorb recoil energy, consisting of a special part attached to the back of the return spring axis, as well as a buffer spring. This mechanism quite effectively dampens part of the recoil energy and stabilizes the operation of the automation when using cartridges of various powers, and at the same time, extends the life of the weapon, reducing the destructive impact of firing with powerful +P and +P+ cartridges. A polymer bushing that absorbs the energy of the bolt-casing impact on the frame helps reduce the recoil force and its impact on the shooter.
The company accommodated left-handed shooters by equipping the pistol with a double-sided slide stop, the levers of which can be conveniently operated by both right and left hands. Following the latest trends in the design of personal short-barreled weapons and the requirements for them, HK designers created a modular pistol, providing it with removable rear parts of the handle of different sizes, so that the P2000 can be adjusted by the owner to his hand. And, as you know, the convenience and stability of holding, a tight “grip” and a deep hand position are the key to accurate shooting. This works in practice. People with large hands can install a part that matches the dimensions and excellent shooting results will not take long to arrive.
The pistol uses an ambidextrous lever magazine release, just like the USP model. The sighting devices are fixed in dovetail-type grooves with the possibility of making lateral adjustments. They can be equipped with tritium glow-in-the-dark inserts for aiming in low-light conditions. But the biggest feature of this model is the design of the trigger mechanism. The P2000 was originally created for the police of various European countries and anti-terrorist special forces, but soon began to be exported to the USA, where it also began to be used in police departments and gained stable popularity in the civilian weapons market.
The P2000 is standardly equipped with a hammer-type, double-action trigger mechanism with a safety cocking mechanism and a trigger of a new design - LEM (Law Enforcement Modification), also designated as CDA (Combat Defense Action). The first trigger of this type was installed in 2001 on the USP Compact LEM pistol, produced for the American police. The LEM trigger was developed for use in pistols that were planned to be supplied to various US law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies. The goal of the new design was to obtain less trigger pull on the first shot than traditional double-action (DA/SA) trigger mechanisms.
For example, if the USP is worn with the hammer pulled down on the safety cock and with a cartridge in the chamber, then to quickly fire a self-cocking shot it is necessary to overcome a sufficiently large trigger force and its long stroke, and then, to fire the next shots, the weapon switches to firing with the hammer cocked and, accordingly, light effort and a short trigger stroke. A self-cocking shot is, of course, much less accurate than subsequent ones. And the shooter will still need to switch from a large trigger pull to a small one, and of course, from a long stroke to a short one. Often, in stressful combat conditions, a shooter with an insufficient level of training wastes the first self-cocking shot by sharply squeezing and “breaking” the trigger.
Operating principle of a submachine gun
Position A – just before the shot, B – start of recoil, C – recoil completed, cartridge case ejected, spring ready to return bolt group to position A
The MP 5 mechanisms work when firing this weapon something like this:
- The shooter pulls back the reloading handle. At the same time, the chamber opens, and a cartridge is supplied from the magazine;
- Moving in the opposite direction under the influence of a spring, the bolt group “picks up” the cartridge. Dispatch is in progress. Special rollers located between the bolt body and the combat cylinder are at this moment forced into the grooves provided for them, located in the barrel coupling;
- After pressing the trigger, a shot occurs, and the resulting powder gases begin to exert pressure on the bottom of the cartridge case;
- The combat larva is pushed back. The rollers slow down this movement, while at the same time somewhat accelerating the rollback of the shutter body;
- The pressure in the barrel decreases. At this point, the rollers are completely recessed into the bolt body, and the cartridge case is rolled back and ejected. At the same time, the return spring is compressed;
- The cycle, starting from point 2, is repeated, only the descent is performed automatically until the trigger is released.

Pros and cons of a submachine gun
Over the years of practical operation, numerous owners of the Heckler and Koch MP 5 have repeatedly noted, first of all, the excellent ergonomics and ease of use of this weapon.
In addition, the following important advantages of the submachine gun should be mentioned:
- Ease and speed of conversion from one sub-modification to another, including replacement of the trigger;
- High quality manufacturing of all parts and their reliability, structural strength as a whole;
- Good accuracy and accuracy of fire from stable positions;
- The weapon is easily controlled when firing in bursts; it can be returned to the original aiming line without effort;
- The ability to install additional equipment on the MP5 - a tactical flashlight, an improved sight and other useful devices;
- An excellent bullet energy value for this class of weapon has been achieved.
Of course, it was not without its drawbacks. One of the most obvious is the excessively large mass of some modifications. MP5SD3, for example, weighs 3.4 kg without ammunition, that is, the same as an equipped automatic carbine, but this is a weapon of a completely different class, much more powerful and long-range.
There are other shortcomings:
- Increased manufacturing complexity and cost of MP This is due to the selected operating principle of the automation;
- Sensitivity to pollution and high maintenance requirements;
- Difficulty in replacing an incompletely used magazine;
- Poor compatibility with some types of 9x19 cartridges.
When testing the submachine gun by Russian special forces soldiers, frequent delays in firing were also noted. It is possible that this was caused by the use of inappropriate ammunition.
Heckler & Koch P2000 pistol
The Heckler & Koch P2000 pistol was created on the basis of the Heckler & Koch USP Compact, the main purpose of the modernization was to obtain a more compact and versatile personal weapon. It was announced in 200 and first presented to the public in 2001 at the IWA 2001 exhibition. It was adopted by the police for concealed carry officers.
The frame is made of impact-resistant plastic with metal shutter guides. The shutter is completely steel, made by milling. The back of the grip is removable, allowing for different sized grips to fit the shooter's palm.
The automatic operation of the Heckler & Koch P2000 is based on a short barrel stroke according to a modified Browning scheme. The barrel is locked by the lug behind the hole for ejecting cartridges. The reduction of the barrel is carried out by the interaction of the influx with a shaped protrusion on the barrel with a fixed rod on which the return spring is attached. The pistol has a proprietary CDA (Combat Defense Action) double-action trigger mechanism that provides a smooth release and high reliability. The CDA has two springs; when you press the trigger, you overcome the resistance of a weak spring giving a load of about 3 kilograms, which releases an internal, more powerful mainspring through a special mechanism. The internal spring acts as a single action trigger and can only be cocked by pulling the bolt or after firing during the reloading cycle. The internal spring can only be released by pressing the trigger. For safe release of the hammer spring from cocking, there is a flag located on the left side of the frame. The pistol can use several modifications of the trigger mechanism:
- V0 pistol with classic CDA trigger.
- V1 pistol with a CDA trigger mechanism, the only thing missing is the ability to safely decock the hammer spring; you need to pull the trigger when there is no cartridge in the chamber. The force required to pull the trigger is 2 kilograms.
- V2 is similar to V1, only the trigger pull force is 2.8 kilograms.
- The V3 pistol has a conventional trigger mechanism with the ability to safely release the hammer, after which the first shot is self-cocking.
- V4 is similar to V1, only the trigger pull is 3.3 kilograms.
- V5 trigger mechanism CDA double only, pressing force is 3.6 kilograms.
Gameplay - game tactics
Due to its small clip, the P2000 is only good in the initial round, only one on one, and only at medium ranges. At long range he will be shot down by Desert Eagle, at close range by CZ75-Auto, Tec-9 and even Glock. Shoot in bursts, aiming at the level of the neck and head.
If you find yourself in close combat against several opponents - no matter what they are armed with - it is better to retreat. Go under the cover of walls or your teammates.
At long distances, there is a small chance to cause maximum damage: throw grenades and, under the cover of your teammates, deal damage to enemies, constantly going for cover.
Counter-tactics
Shooting the P2000 isn't much of a problem.
- Get close and shoot the enemy with the P2000 from an automatic weapon
- From a distance, use the sniper rifle when the enemy with the P2000 is not covered by his comrades
- Even if you are armed with a Glock, maneuver, get close and continuously shoot at the enemy’s body, neck and head: you have more ammunition and higher maneuverability.

Heckler & Koch P2000
is a German semi-automatic pistol introduced in late 2001 and intended primarily for law enforcement, paramilitary and commercial markets. It is based on the USP of the Compact pistol. The P2000 has been specifically designed with improved ergonomic features; It has features that reduce handling stresses while increasing user control and comfort.
Disassembly
- Unload the weapon by removing the magazine from the hopper and moving the bolt frame.
- Using a hex key, unscrew the two screws on the bottom edge of the forend and remove it.
- Using two (slotted on both sides of the receiver) hex wrenches, unscrew the two bolts holding the receiver halves.
- Separate the upper half of the receiver assembly with the barrel and bolt frame.
- Remove the two lock washers securing the bolt carrier rods to the piston.
- Using a flathead screwdriver, press the bolt handle latch and remove it forward.
- Remove the bolt carrier together with the rods from the receiver, remove the rods.
- Unscrew the two screws securing the guide spring, remove it and remove the piston from the gas chamber.
- Press the lock on the butt plate of the bolt stem, remove the pin, and remove the firing pin.
- Remove the bolt cover.
- Remove the larva.
The fame and popularity of a particular type of weapon is sometimes brought not so much by its outstanding tactical and technical characteristics, but by the degree of exposure in various Hollywood blockbusters. In this regard, the German Heckler Koch MP5 submachine gun is very lucky - it can be seen in many world famous films. These are “Die Hard”, “Predator”, “Resident Evil”, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”, “The Matrix”, “Mission Impossible” - the list goes on for a very long time. Whether the MP5 lives up to its “light image” is a rather controversial question, but in any case it is clear that even without the help of filmmakers it looks good compared to other submachine guns. This is not so little, considering his considerable age - about fifty-three years.
design details
The P2000 is a short stroke consumer injection breech pistol locked using a modified Browning-type linkless cam action with a vertical tilt barrel also used in the USP series of semi-automatic pistols as well as the most modern linkless semi-automobiles.
The cold barrel forging hammer has a polygonal profile, and the slider is made of a solid nitro-carburizing steel rod. Following recent trends in modern pistol design, the P2000 makes extensive use of high-impact polymers to reduce weight and manufacturing costs.
As with other recent Heckler & Koch pistol designs, the P2000 is modular in design to suit individual needs. For example, the grip features a modular design with replaceable backstraps, allowing the user to customize the gun's grip size and feel. There is a universal accessory rail built into the dust cover in front of the trigger guard that allows the use of tactical flashlights, laser pointers and other accessories. This is in contrast to the USP series, which uses a proprietary H&K mounting rail that limits the types of accessories that can be used with the pistol.
The P2000 is a hammer fired from a gun with an open stimulated hammer; a sheared hammer is optional. It has a mirror-symmetrical slide and a full mirror-symmetrical magazine release mounted on the trigger.
Advantages
- Issued free of charge at the beginning of each round to the counter-terrorist side;
- Good hit and accuracy, as for a standard pistol in the game. Compared to Glock, this figure is significantly lower (240/250);
- It has a fairly low price in case of purchase (200 bucks);
- The loss in movement of the player model is almost imperceptible;
- High damage for a pistol of this price (36);
- The speed of replacing a magazine allows you to continue working on enemies without losing your position (2 seconds);
Trigger options
The different trigger and coking system provides the ability to convert the firing mode of the trigger from one type to another. Several options are available based on the Combat Defensive Action (CDA) aka Law Enforcement Modification (LEM) mechanism used versus whether the SA/DA trigger is used. The following options are available:
- V0
: CDA / D.A. starting system. The CDA aka LEM trigger is a two-stage trigger that is hammer-down self-cocking, but has an internal mechanism that cocks with each action cycle. It provides a cocked double action trigger pull of 20 N (4.5 lb F) (+4/-2 N) and an uncocked double action trigger pull of 51 N (11.5 lb F) (±5 N). - V1
: Same as V0, but the hammer does not have spurs and there is no decocker button; Thus, the only way to release the cocked spring is to release the hammer over an empty chamber. - V2
: Same as V1, but with increased trigger weight. The trigger is 32.5 N (7.3 lbf) (±2.5 N). - V3
: SA/DA trigger with decocking lever mounted on the back of the slide to the left of the stimulated hammer. Single action trigger 20 N (4.5 lb f) (+4/-2 N), double action trigger 51 N (11.5 lb f) (±5 N). - V4
: Same as V1 and V2, but from the middle of the trigger range 27.5 N (6.2 lb F) (±2.5 N). - V5
: dual action only (DAO) trigger system. Trigger thrust 36 N (8.1 lbf) (±3 N).
History of the creation and development of Heckler&Koch MP5 weapons
After the end of World War II, it might seem that the “golden age” of submachine guns was becoming a thing of the past. Armies began to switch to more powerful and long-range weapons - automatic and assault rifles. In the USSR it was the famous AK, in the USA it was the M14, which is not often mentioned today, and the Bundeswehr received the Heckler & Koch G3 at its disposal. This rifle was notable primarily for the fact that its designers did not use the already familiar gas-operated principle of automatic operation, preferring a semi-blowback mechanism.
From the very beginning it was clear that the HK G3 would be too long and bulky for tank and armored vehicle drivers. Therefore, the question arose about creating a submachine gun designed specifically for this category of military personnel. The rifle was put into service in 1959, and in the same year German designers began creating a compact weapon, which received the initial designation HK 54. The number “5” meant that we were talking about a submachine gun, and “4” indicated that It is supposed to use a 9x19 mm cartridge.
The HK54 was based on the G3, which is easy to see when looking at the two weapons. This decision was logical in its own way: it simplified both the training of soldiers and repair work. In addition, it was not difficult to guess that since the automation can handle powerful 7.62x51 rifle cartridges, switching to weaker pistol ammunition would not be difficult.
Heckler Koch's initial plans were not destined to come true - the army did not want to adopt the HK54. But the submachine gun did not go unclaimed - the German government considered that it would be perfect for the police. In addition, this weapon, officially designated HK MP5 (Maschinenpistole 5), was handed over to border guards.
One of the first known examples of the use of the new submachine gun was the attempt to free Israeli athletes captured by Arab terrorists during the Munich Olympics in 1972. Unfortunately, the operation ended in complete failure - all the hostages were killed. This tragedy prompted the German government to create a special unit, GSG 9, whose employees were armed with MP-5s. It was these fighters who became a kind of “advertising agents” who were the first to introduce their colleagues from other Western countries to the capabilities of German compact weapons.
In 1977, the GSG-9 squad, using MP5, neutralized the terrorists who hijacked a Lufthansa airliner. The success was obvious, however, the real finest hour for the submachine gun came on May 5, 1980, when soldiers of the British special unit SAS freed hostages held by Arab terrorists in the Iranian Embassy in London. For a variety of reasons, this operation, codenamed “Nimrod,” was widely covered by television and the press, and, as they say, “in real time.” The shocked public learned for the first time about the very existence of SAS. Considering that all participants in the operation were armed with an MP5, the worldwide fame of this submachine gun was ensured from that moment on.
Of course, Heckler Koch's designers didn't sit idle either: throughout the 70s they developed several new modifications of the MP5, the most significant of which were the MP5SD and MP5K. Nevertheless, it was thanks to the media that the submachine gun became known throughout the world. The results were immediate: over the years since then, the MP5 submachine gun has appeared in service in more than 50 different countries around the world. It is interesting that Britain officially acquired the first batch of German submachine guns only in 1984.
P2000SK
P2000 SK
The model is a smaller "sub-compact" version of the P2000. US versions of the P2000SK will accept longer USP Compact magazines, which provide higher powers; up to 13mm 9 rounds and 12 .40 S&W/0.357 SIG cartridges. Some of the benefits of its compact size will be compromised as these long magazines will protrude approximately 1/2″ below the bottom of the P2000SK's grip. Lower capacity 10-round magazines are the same size as higher capacity USP Compact magazines.
Gun device
Previous USP Heckler & Koch pistols were distinguished by the use of various unconventional design solutions. For example, the P9 used a semi-blowback action, a system similar to that used in the design of the G3 rifle. But the “Heckler&Koch” USP is basically a fairly traditional design, almost like the Browning M1911 and Hi-Power. Automation uses the recoil of the barrel during its short stroke. The trigger mechanism is double action. And here we cannot do without innovations.
In a workshop, you can change the position of the safety (or remove it altogether), add or eliminate a safe trigger release, or make the mechanism self-cocking only. The recoil spring buffer mechanism is built into the recoil spring assembly. According to the developers, it reduces perceived recoil by 30%.
At the bottom of the frame there is a device for mounting flashlights or laser designators. However, this is not a universal Picatinny rail mount, and therefore the USP cannot be equipped with all additional equipment. Thus, only InsightIndustries flashlights distributed through the Heckler & Koch dealer network are allowed. To get around this inconvenience, some companies have launched the production of adapters that allow you to install a standard Picatinny rail.
