“Jorge” is a family of traumatic pistols, produced under license from NPO Fort at the Klimovsky Specialized Cartridge Plant named after Yu. V. Andropov. Can be used as a service weapon, civilian self-defense weapon and sports training weapon. From 2010 to 2015, it was produced entirely from components produced at KSPZ. Since 2015, the Vostok pistol has been produced at its base.
Pistol Vostok-1 - video
The first batches of pistols were assembled under a Ukrainian license from Ukrainian components. From July 1, 2011, the import of main parts was prohibited. As of the end of 2012, all main parts of weapons are produced at KSPZ JSC.
In 2008, the Jorge-S pistol was tested in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation; the possibility of arming certain categories of law enforcement officers with it was considered, but it is not in service.
Currently, a modification of the Jorge-3M is being produced with a polymer frame and an updated stainless steel shutter.
Design
The main parts of the gun are made of stainless steel.
The automatic operation of the Jorge pistol operates due to the recoil energy of the free bolt (the barrel has no engagement with the bolt; locking of the barrel bore is achieved by the mass of the bolt and the force of the return spring) with a stationary barrel. Trigger trigger, double action. The design includes a bolt stop that holds the bolt in the rearmost position after firing the last cartridge.
The barrel is made from weapon grade stainless steel. The barrel of civilian pistol models has baffles to reduce the speed of the bullet, as well as to eliminate the possibility of firing live ammunition with an inelastic bullet. The barrel of service pistol models (“Jorge-S” and “Jorge-1C”) has no partitions. Sights are open type and can be made of various grades of steel or plastic. The anti-corrosion coating of metal parts has a fine-grained, matte surface.

Accessories
On pistols with a polymer frame (and on some models with a metal frame), it is possible to install a laser target designator and a flashlight.
The Vostok-1 pistol has an improved and modernized overall appearance, a rectangular-shaped bolt in cross-section, an improved bolt stop, an improved ejector design, a rigidly fixed front sight, and a “smooth-shaped” rear sight. Frame covers of different sizes and replaceable magazine covers will be produced for the pistol, which will allow the weapon to be more fully adjusted to the shooter’s hand, improve the appearance of the pistol, and take into account the specific features of the weapon’s use.
All parts of the gun, down to the springs and pins, are made of modern stainless steel. When casting plastic parts, only imported plastics with 30% filling of long carbon fiber are used, which ensures their high strength, durability and beautiful appearance. The plastics used are pleasant and tactile to the touch. The external configuration of the barrel and the method of its attachment to the frame have been changed, which opens up significant modernization potential for the design and the possibility of using large-caliber cartridges.
The thickness of the barrel wall has been increased, which makes it impossible for it to swell or rupture when inflamed, etc. The internal design of the barrel has been adjusted, which has made it possible to almost double the accuracy of fire compared to previous models. The dependence of the position of the midpoint of impact on the use of cartridges from different manufacturers has also dropped significantly. The geometry of the working parts of the trigger mechanism has been changed, which has made it possible to reduce the trigger force by approximately 1-1.5 kg both when firing with self-cocking and with pre-cocking. The trigger became better and softer, which in turn resulted in improved shooting results. The return spring is mounted on a guide, which makes it easy to assemble and disassemble the gun. The effort required to engage and remove the pistol from the safety lever has been reduced. The safety catch has been lengthened, which has improved the ease of handling the pistol.
Today, more and more models of traumatic pistols are appearing on the shelves of gun stores. Each of them has its own design features. Consumers use such products primarily as a reliable means of self-defense or for target practice. Among the wide variety of “traumas,” the Vostok-1 traumatic pistol is especially popular. An overview of the model is contained in this article.
Description The Vostok-1 traumatic pistol of 9 mm RA caliber is a modern firearm of limited destruction (LLD). You can purchase it only with a special license. The Vostok-1 traumatic pistol is designed on the basis of the Ukrainian Fort model. It is produced in the city of Klimovsk (Russia). The craftsmen of the Klimovsky specialized cartridge plant produce this model of “trauma” in two versions:
design with an aluminum frame - Vostok model; design with a polymer frame - model “Vostok-1”. The traumatic pistol was known to many OOOP fans as “Jorge”. After design modifications, the “traumat” was given a new name.
Design Compared to its counterpart, the Vostok traumatic pistol looks more modern. The name of the modernized version of the pistol is applied to its bolt casing.
High-quality weapons-grade plastic is used in the manufacture of the case. The front and rear sights are used as sighting devices in a traumatic pistol. Their difference from similar devices in the “Jorge” is that the front sight fastening in the new “trauma” is made more rigid, and the shape of the rear sight is smoothed.
Design changes The Vostok traumatic pistol is characterized by reliable mechanical operation. Springs, pins, internal parts and parts of the gun are made of modern, very high quality stainless steel. The plastic elements of the pistol look quite aesthetically pleasing. Due to its high content (30%) of long carbon fibers, this plastic has high strength and durability.
The working parts in the trigger mechanism have a modified geometry. Due to this, the craftsmen of the Klimovsk specialized plant managed to reduce the force during descent by one and a half kilograms. This indicator is typical for self-cocking and pre-cocking shooting. Design improvements made it possible to soften the descent as much as possible. As evidenced by numerous reviews from owners of this weapon, pistol shooting is highly accurate.
The model uses a double-action trigger mechanism. Automation operates using the blowback recoil principle. Disassembling Vostok-1 has become much easier due to the location of its return spring on the guide. Safe operation of this traumatic pistol is ensured by a safety catch, which is longer than the similar device in Jorge.
Pistol barrel In the Vostok pistol model, both the configuration of the barrel and the method of attaching it to the frame have been changed. High trunk stability is achieved by thickening its walls. Increasing their thickness prevents possible swelling or ruptures during inflammation. After the gunsmiths adjusted the internal design of the barrel, the accuracy when firing from this modernized traumatic pistol doubled.
Subject to changes in the external configuration and the method of fastening with the frame, this traumatic pistol is suitable for the use of large-caliber ammunition.
Tactical and technical characteristics "Vostok-1" is designed for firing 9 mm R.A. ammunition. Magazine capacity - 10 rounds. The weight of the weapon without ammunition is 0.68 kg. Barrel - 95 mm. Weapon length - 18 cm. Pistol height - 13 cm. Width - 36 mm. Bullet - 0.7 g. Diameter - 10.2 mm. This weapon is suitable for targeted shooting at a distance of up to 7 meters. From a distance of 5 meters the dispersion is 100 mm. 300 m/s is an indicator of the rate of fire of the Vostok traumatic pistol. Reviews Owners of the Vostok and Vostok-1 traumatic pistols appreciated the strengths of these models:
The weapon is equipped with a very comfortable handle. You can reach the controls with your thumb. Thanks to special overlays for frames and replaceable covers for pistol magazines, a complete fit of the weapon to the hand of its owner is ensured. The pistol is powerful enough to be used as a means of self-defense. The assembly and disassembly procedure is simple. The topic is often raised among consumers that there are very few products with Russian names on the Russian markets for traumatic pistols. The appearance of such a “trauma” as “Vostok” was received positively by weapon lovers.
The Vostok and Vostok-1 traumatic pistols can be used as reliable means of self-defense. These models are also recommended for those who want to learn how to shoot. Due to its aesthetic appearance, “injuries” will be an excellent gift for a firearms lover.
