Which army in the world has the best rations? 13 examples of dry rations of the armed forces of different countries

Features of the mountain diet

The total weight of the sealed dark green plastic packaging is 1.9 kilograms. Shelf life – 22 months from the date of manufacture. But, basically, all food included in the general package has a shelf life of two years. That is, with a reserve.

As mentioned above, the total energy value is 5030 kilocalories. Compare: the usual army daily dry ration is from 3700 to 4500 kcal.

Total protein content - 129 grams, fat - 223 grams, carbohydrates - 626 grams.

The difference between the daily mountain ration is that there is a larger amount of food in dry form (diluted with water). This reduces the weight of the dry ration.

There are also ready-made dishes (you just need to heat them up). They are packaged in soft steel-colored retort bags. This reduces the overall weight of the IRP and makes it compact. By the way, the Argomagazin online stew store offers a wide variety of natural canned soups and ready-made main courses

in Sun Mix cans with an easy open key.

Compared to regular daily rations, the total number of dishes is increased. In this IRP there are six at once! And this is not counting a number of additional products. We will list them a little later.

By the way, the overall packaging is very convenient! Has a carrying handle. The shape of the packaging container is in the form of a rather deep rectangular plastic bowl. The bowl is dense. You can easily pour water into it for drinking or, if necessary, even for washing and other hygiene procedures.

The top of the bowl is covered with a durable opaque green film. During assembly of the IRP, it is obviously secured with temperature sealing. This guarantees dirt and water resistance.

In general, the quality of packaging material is several times higher than most foreign analogues, since even in a number of NATO countries the packaging is carried out in ordinary cardboard boxes. You can read about this in articles devoted to the diets of the armies of the world.

★ Russian army dry rations. IRP No. 3

Today we’ll look at something that’s not quite common for online shopping—IRP No. 3 of the Russian Army. This is the same soldier's packed lunch, the modern version. Yes, you can buy it on aliexpress, of course, with delivery from the Russian Federation. Such sets are eaten in the fields not only by soldiers, but also by fishermen, hunters and tourists. Convenient - a box of food for the whole day. Everything you need is included. Just add water. So I decided to diversify the food on one-day hikes from “doshika” and stewed meat to a full-fledged diet. I bought it, though, for around $5. Now that link no longer exists and others are more expensive. Solder packaging:

The configuration options from No. 1 to No. 7 are compiled by day of the week (Mon-Sun), I have No. 3. Expiration date until May 21. The box has additional weather protection - the inside is covered with foil. There is a carrying handle. Box dimensions: 25x18.5x9.5 cm. Weight of IRP No. 3:

Let's unpack the set (for video lovers, there is an unboxing video version at the end of the review). Let's start with the documentation:

Composition of the multivitamin complex, composition of the entire IRP set and expiration dates. The basis of the set is three main courses:

Rice porridge with beef - 250 g. Meat with beans and vegetables - 250 g. Beef meatballs - 250 g. + canned salted bacon 100 g. They have a shelf life of 2-3 years, although they do not contain preservatives. Similar canned foods are also sold separately in stores (~90 rubles), I take these on bike trips, one package satisfies hunger well:

Further, all sets include:

  • Processed cheese – 80 g
  • Natural apple puree – 100 g
  • Apple jam – 45 g
  • Vegetable caviar – 100 g
  • Tender pate – 50 g
  • Amateur sausage mince – 50 g
  • Army biscuits made from wallpaper flour - 2 packs (100 g)
  • Army biscuits made from 1st grade flour - 2 packs (100 g)
  • Chewing gum (10 tablets)
  • Natural instant drink (concentrate) – 3 pcs (cherry, raspberry, peach)
  • Chocolate “Officer” – 30 g
  • Black tea – 2 bags of 2 g each
  • Instant coffee – 1 bag
  • Sugar 20 g - 3 pack
  • Dry instant cream - 2 g
  • Wet wipe for hands – 3 pcs.
  • Black pepper - 1 g
  • Salt - 5 g

  • Paper napkins – 3 pcs.
  • Spoon layer - 3 pcs
  • Plast knife - 1 piece
  • Dry fuel (3 pcs) and a Taganka for warming up
  • Wind and water resistant matches (6 pcs and grater)

Let's take a closer look at canned snacks:

Fairly dented, but the integrity is not broken. Bread is replaced by two types of biscuits:

Dessert part:

Chocolate is bitter. Instant drinks (who remembers Yupi, Invite) are sweet, somewhat reminiscent of highly diluted jelly. Further:

There was still cream, but it was crumbling.
Chewing gum is minty, the taste goes away quickly. But it will do to freshen your mouth after eating. Auxiliary items, including plastic cutlery:

Tablets for water disinfection - Aquabreeze 2. One tablet per liter of water, bleach, of course. There is only one Taganka, and 3 pieces of dry fuel, enough for three cans of canned food. Don't forget wet and dry wipes. In general, the total calorie content of the ration is large (4750 kcal), designed for an adult during physical activity.

I'll test the IRP on a day hike. 21 km in wet snow, difficult. We went together, so we had one ration in half for one meal. Briefly about the trip in one photo:

Let's try the main dish:

I chose the beans with beef. Even though I don't like beef, I liked it. Natural taste, no acid. The meatballs are nice too.

Everything about Prince is edible. But lard and squash caviar are disgusting, we are not soldiers at the KMB, we are spoiled. Dessert:

The jam is delicious. The tea, of course, is Chinese. “Coffee for officers only. Coffee makes me nervous.” DMB© Raspberry drink:

Can be diluted in cold and hot water. More details about the process of absorption of the IRP with comments in the video.

Does it make sense to take such a set on a weekend camping trip? I think yes. But for 300-400 rubles. There is no point in being more expensive, you can package it separately. Maybe the comments will recommend other interesting food sets.

Main dishes of the diet in dry form

The studied version No. 1 of the mountain IRP included three types of main dishes diluted with water. That is, we are talking about freeze-dried (dried) food products. When adding liquid (plus heating), they return to their original properties.

The first steel-colored sealed bag contained “Rice Soup with Meat.” Weight – 40 gr. Calorie content – 290 kcal. The product does not require cooking. You need to transfer it to a plate and pour in 450 ml. water.

The second similar package contained “Wheat porridge with meat” (with beef) – 60 g, 340 kcal. To achieve the required consistency, add 180 ml. water.

The third package contains “Sweet rice porridge with raisins” (60 g, 360 kcal). Restores the original properties of the product after adding 150 ml to the dry mixture. water.

For heating, there are three large tablets of dry fuel (one for each treat) and a convenient folding taganok (a stand for dry fuel, an army pot or a plate).

For ignition, there is a separate sealed package with six wind- and moisture-resistant matches and a grater for igniting them.

Russia

Goulash, liver and meat pates, beef with buckwheat, meat with peas and carrots, canned lard - vegetarians in the ranks of the Russian army are probably not happy. Is it possible to snack on biscuits, processed cheese, jam and sweets? You can wash it down with tea or coffee, adding milk to taste, and finish the meal with multivitamins and chewing gum.

The Russian set also included water purification tablets, antibacterial and regular wipes, plastic cutlery, and matches.

Additional products and components of the mining IRP

In the general package with the daily ration there are five 20-gram bars of “Officersky” dark chocolate (made according to GOST). Dark chocolate, as you know, is high in calories and filling. Improves mood, promotes the process of hematopoiesis.

In addition to chocolate, there is a fruit (apricot-plum) stick “Zaryad”. Also high-energy - 337 kcal.

For sweets also - 3 bags of sugar, 20 grams each, and a 100-gram bag of apple jam. Moreover, the sealed package with jam is not partially filled with air (this sometimes happens), but only with a useful product.

A Russian soldier receives three 25-gram concentrates of a dry berry tonic drink. After dilution with water it has a pale crimson color.

There are a couple of 2-gram bags of tea and granulated coffee (both are in accordance with GOST).

For tea and coffee, no more or less - as many as five 50-gram packages of wheat biscuits, 8 pieces each. That is, a total of 40 pieces per day!

Along with the biscuits, it’s good to eat the “Canned Sterilized Processed Cheese” (80 gr., 290 kcal) and “Nut-Chocolate Paste” (50 gr., 558 kcal) included in the dry ration.

The main treats come with packages of salt (5 grams) and ground black pepper (1 gram).

To disinfect hands, the individual diet kit includes 3 bags of wet wipes (each contains 2 wipes), and for disinfecting water, 6 tablets are given.

In addition, there are three regular paper napkins for wiping your hands and face.

For breakfast, lunch and dinner, Russian servicemen are given one strong, dark green plastic spoon.

Finally, a plastic opener is included for opening cans. In appearance it vaguely resembles a stone arrowhead.

Italy

The field ration of Italian military personnel is an echo of the richness and satiety of the national cuisine, albeit in a primitive synthetic version: there is pork in jelly, and ravioli with meat sauce, and, of course, pasta.

Soldiers will not have to deny themselves dessert: there is coffee and condensed milk, crackers and gummies, canned fruit salad, and chocolate-covered muesli. The picture is completed with salt, sugar, napkins, plastic cutlery and dishes, and a blister pack of multivitamins.
