Service history[edit]

Most of the boats built served with the 10th Submarine Flotilla based in Malta. 19 died during the war; 13 in the Mediterranean Sea, and the rest in the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Royal Netherlands Navy one:

  • HNLMS Dolfijn - (formerly HMS P47
    )

Additionally, after the end of the war, HMS Upstart and HMS Untiring were leased to the Greek Navy, becoming respectively Amphitriti

Xifias
. The following boats were transferred to the Royal Danish Navy after the war:

  • S321 U 1 Springeren
