CZ 200 series of pre-inflated air rifles

PCP rifles are gaining quite a lot of popularity and this is not surprising. They are quite reliable, have good and often adjustable power, and also provide high accuracy. There is no need to buy expensive compressed gas cylinders for refilling. It can also be emphasized that they are often quite easy to modernize, and if you have “outgrown” your weapon, you can simply improve it and it will serve you for quite a long time. All these parameters apply to the CZ 200 air rifles, which also stand out for their excellent workmanship and fairly solid wooden stock.

Review of CZ 200 air rifles

The CZ 200 series rifles are of the PCP type, or, in other words, pre-injected air. This option is good because it allows you to make many shots from one cylinder, there is no need to buy gas cylinders for reloading, and the power varies over a wide range, for example, having received a rifle with a bullet speed of 165 m/s, it can easily be upgraded to 250.

We can note the high quality of workmanship, ease of upgrading the rifle, good shooting accuracy, as well as reliability of the design.

The manufacturer produces several modifications of air rifles, which are supposed to be used for different purposes. They differ in stock design and power. Otherwise they are the same.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of the CZ 200 air rifles:

  • A high-quality wooden stock gives the weapon solidity;
  • Several modifications allow you to choose the best option;
  • Easily modernizable;
  • High quality workmanship;
  • Excellent accuracy due to good fit of parts, precise processing, as well as a rifled barrel.

There are also disadvantages:

  • The sports modification does not always include a diopter sighting device, which will cost you money;
  • To pump in air, it is necessary to remove the gas tank;
  • The stock is divided into two parts, which negatively affects the strength of the structure;
  • The shutter is plastic. Experienced shooters usually change it to metal.

Purpose

This series is distinguished by the presence of several modifications that have their own purpose. Thus, you can buy a rifle specifically for sport; of course, it is more suitable for beginners, but by upgrading it you can get an excellent weapon that is also suitable for an advanced shooter. There is also a version for hunters. Lovers of just shooting in nature are also not left out, since there are two versions for them, only the stock differs.

And given the fact that the weapon can be modernized, you can even turn the sports version into a hunting version. This would be a very smart idea, as a fully adjustable stock will only help the hunter achieve better results.

Modifications

CZ 200 T

The 200T series is represented by only one model, which is designed directly for sports and is perfect for both a beginner and an amateur/semi-professional. The stock consists of two parts, namely an adjustable stock, which is attached to the receiver with two bolts, as well as a forend with a fastening of only one bolt, which is not the best solution for imparting rigidity to the structure.

The butt comb can be adjusted in height, but the length can be changed due to special inserts that are supplied in the kit. The buttplate can also be moved downwards.

To pump gas, the tank will have to be removed. For targeted shooting, the rifle has diopter sights, which is perfect for sport shooting at short distances.

CZ 200 S

The S series, in fact, does not have any special differences from the previous one. It has increased power, which has increased from 165 to 250 m/s. And the cylinder is equipped with a quick refill port, which is quite convenient. The butt, of course, is not adjustable and is only equipped with a rubberized butt pad. There is also a 5.5 caliber option.

The Hunter modification has a solid stock, which is more practical for the hunter. It is also equipped with a cylinder of increased power, which will allow you to make significantly more shots from one refill.

This series also includes the SF rifle, which stands out only for its solid stock and has no other differences from the base S model.

Self-loading pistol CZ 27 / P.27(t) (Czechoslovakia)

Story

Gunsmith Frantisek Myszka in 1927 simplified the design of his CZ 24 pistol of 9 mm caliber and created a self-loading pistol chambered for 7.65mm Browning, called Vz.27 (CZ 27). The release of new weapons was launched at. The pistol entered service with the Czechoslovak army, police and state security agencies.

After the occupation of Czechoslovakia, production of the pistol continued, and it entered the Wehrmacht under the designation Pistole 27(t) and with the inscription “BOHMISCHEWAFFENFAB-R1KA. G. INPRA.” Pistole 27(t) with an extended barrel (135 mm) and equipped with a silencer for silent and flameless shooting were supplied to the German intelligence services. Until 1945, the Vz.27 was produced for the German army. After the liberation of Czechoslovakia, Ceska Zbrojvka continued production of this pistol, which was successful in the civilian weapons market and is still supplied to army units. Production of the CZ 27 continued until 1951.

Application

The CZ 27 pistol was in service with the Czechoslovak army; during World War II it was used by the Wehrmacht and police forces located on the territory of Czechoslovakia. Also supplied to Switzerland, Turkey, Great Britain, India, South Africa, Pakistan, Poland and other countries.

Ethiopia purchased a modification of this weapon - the CZ 247 automatic pistol specifically for the protection of Emperor Haile Selasio. The CZ 27 was the weapon of the famous raider Sergei Maduev - “the last bandit of the USSR.”

Pistol CZ 24 (Vz.24)

The self-loading pistol was developed on the basis of the Vz.22 and was produced in 1924-1944. He used an automatic with a movable barrel that had a short stroke during recoil. The trigger mechanism is hammer-operated, single action. The manual safety is located on the left side of the frame, behind the trigger. To put the weapon on safety, there is a small lever, and to remove the weapon from the safety, there is a button located under the lever. The cartridges are fed from a single-row detachable magazine located in the handle of the weapon. The magazine latch is located at the base of the handle, behind the magazine shaft. In 1929–1934 pistols were supplied to Poland and Lithuania. During the occupation, the pistol was produced for Germany under the designation “Pistole 24(t)”. In total, more than 190 thousand copies were produced. Pistol performance characteristics: caliber – 9 mm; weight without cartridges - 680 g; length – 160 mm; barrel length – 90 mm; Magazine capacity – 8 rounds.

Pistol CZ-27 (Vz. 27)

The pistol was a modernized version of the CZ-24 and was produced since 1927. The weapon operated using a blowback recoil system, and instead of the 9mm Short cartridge, it used 7.65mm Browning. External differences were flat side edges and vertical notches of the shutter casing. Automation works according to the scheme of using recoil with a free shutter. The barrel is fastened using a cracker method. The trigger mechanism is hammer-operated, single action. The pistol is equipped with a manual safety, the activation lever of which is located behind the trigger, on the left side of the frame, and under the lever there is a button to turn off the safety. Captured by the Wehrmacht and produced by order of Germany in 1939-1945. the pistols served under the designation Pistole-27(t). The intelligence services of the Third Reich were supplied with a number of Pistole-27(t) adapted for the use of a silent-flameless firing device (silencer). This weapon was equipped with barrels extended to 135 mm with a muzzle protruding from the casing and bolt, which had a thread for attaching the PBS. 480 thousand pistols were produced for Germany. In total, about 700 thousand pistols of this model were produced. Silencers for the pistol were produced for the pistol: caliber - 7.65 mm; weight – 670 g; length – 155 mm; barrel length – 99 mm; magazine capacity 8 rounds; sighting range – 50 m; initial bullet speed – 274 m/s.

Pistol CZ 36

Pistol performance characteristics: caliber – 6.35 mm; length – 128 mm; width – 15.5 mm; height – 91 mm; barrel length – 64 mm; weight without cartridge - 390 g; Magazine capacity – 7 rounds.

Pistol CZ-38

The CZ-38 pistol was produced in 1939-1942. The automatic pistol operates by using the recoil energy of the free bolt. The pistol is fired only by self-cocking for each shot. The spent cartridge case is extracted upward through a window in the bolt casing. The cartridges are fed from a box magazine, which is inserted into the handle and held in place by a latch. A special feature of the gun is its exceptional ease of disassembly for cleaning. It had only 45 parts. However, the weapon is heavy and has a significant trigger pull, which significantly complicates aimed shooting. In Germany, the pistol was in service with the police and auxiliary troops under the designation “Pistole 39(t)”. The pistol was also used in Bulgaria and Finland. A total of 41 thousand pistols were produced. Pistol performance characteristics: caliber – 9 mm; weight – 910 g; length – 206 mm; height – 127 mm; barrel length – 118 mm; magazine capacity – 8 rounds; sighting range – 25 m; initial bullet speed – 290 m.

Disassembly

Disassembly sequence for CZ 200 air rifles:

  1. First you need to unscrew the gas tank and bleed the air from it.
  2. If the rifle was loaded, fire a blank shot;
  3. The stock is removed by unscrewing one screw from the bottom of the forend, one on the right side near the bolt, and also one from the bottom behind the pistol grip;

  4. Unscrew the screw on the rear of the receiver. Be careful as it holds the spring;
  5. To remove the shutter, you need to unscrew the guide. To remove the barrel at the top, you need to unscrew the clamping screws.

Possible upgrade

To increase power, the operating pressure of the tank can be increased to 250 bar, and it is also necessary to install a precision reducer. The mainspring is replaced with a stronger one. To improve accuracy, it is recommended that the barrel and reservoir be rigidly mounted in the stock, but this requires a quick refill port.

This modification is a rather complex process and requires precise adjustment. If you are a novice shooter, it is better to give your weapon to a master.
