HUNTING RIFLE SP-XS 512 12Х76 S/H VERTICAL SWALLOWS

Sarsilmaz SP–300E: history of appearance.

The Turkish arms company Sarsilmaz was founded at the end of 1880. During its existence, this Turkish company has established itself as a manufacturer of reliable firearms for both the military and civilians. Sarsilmaz weapons are supplied to more than 54 countries around the world, including almost all of Western Europe and North America. By the way, firearms from the Sarsimaz arms company are supplied to the Turkish army, which is part of NATO forces. The Sarsilmaz SP-300E smoothbore hunting rifle appeared in the early 2000s and was immediately liked by consumers as high-quality and reliable, just like any other weapon from this Turkish company. This Turkish vertical gun appeared on the Russian smooth-bore weapon market relatively recently, but has already proven itself to be the best.

Very often you can hear statements that Turkish guns are very similar to models from Western manufacturers, which is why they are very famous. Nevertheless, Turkish gunsmiths have been famous for their weapons since the 19th century. Today Turkey has a huge number of clandestine workshops, as well as large weapons production enterprises, such as the Sarsilmaz plant. Turkish shotgun Sarsilmaz SP-300e, a cheap Turkish hunting “vertical”. The first impression is not the best; the stock is chipped in places and there are scratches on the fore-end. The design is not bad, with clearly visible Italian roots, but the build quality leaves much to be desired, the parts are poorly fitted, and the balancing of the gun is far from ideal ergonomics. The barrel swivel of the Sarsilmaz SP-300e shotgun is attached with screws to the interbarrel strip. The external parts of the gun can hardly be considered processed, but the internal parts are far from being processed ideally, if they were processed at all. The barrel of this model is chrome-plated and has a length of 710 mm. The safety and selector buttons are a little loose, however, the trigger mechanism works clearly, but is tight. The gun also has a shock absorber, which, by the way, even dampens the recoil very well when firing. Shooting shows standard results, shot accuracy is quite satisfactory. Like most other Turkish manufacturers, Sarsilmaz is clearly messing around with the weapon scale. The advantage of this gun is its low cost; on the Russian market it is about 27,000 rubles. Sarsilmaz SA-X 700 shotgun. The 12-caliber semi-automatic Turkish shotgun Sarsilmaz SA-X 700 has a mass of 3.2 kilograms. It has good controllability and moderate recoil. A well-processed barrel, which is made from a single piece of metal, shows good results when shooting both shot and bullets at a distance of 50 m. It is possible to install choke tubes. The gas outlet works well, does not require special attention, only when shooting with shot from 24 to 32 g, it is necessary to install a gas piston on the tube of the under-barrel magazine. The butt and fore-end can be in several versions, either plastic or wood. The advantages of this Turkish gun are as follows: it weighs 3.1 kilograms, is convenient to use and maintain, easy to assemble and disassemble, has good shooting qualities and accuracy. Most often used by hunters when shooting ducks and other game, it hits hares from a relatively close distance. Plastic trim will feel great in any hunting conditions, unlike wood, which is best protected from moisture. Sarsilmaz Camo S shotgun. Sarsilmaz Camo S Turkish smoothbore hunting semi-automatic. The main distinguishing characteristic from all other models of this company is the build quality. All parts fit well, there are no problems with jamming of the trigger or other parts. Another feature of this gun is its rate of fire and accuracy. Both when shooting with bullets and when shooting with shot, this weapon shows good results. The balance of the barrel shows the very good quality of the Sarsilmaz Camo S gun. The material for finishing the butt and stock is Turkish walnut of the highest quality, as well as high-strength plastic, which allows the gun to be used in any conditions. The Sarsilmaz Camo S shotgun has proven itself well when hunting birds and small animals, and is also widely used by sports shooting enthusiasts. The pricing policy for this gun ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 Russian rubles. In general, Sarsilmaz guns show decent quality. Turkish gunsmiths prove their professionalism and ability to produce high-quality guns. Of course, there are exceptions in which the obvious lack of quality of production is manifested, but this is more of a tactical move by management than an indicator of the plant’s capabilities.

Review of the Turkish Sarsilmaz gun

Each subsequent year after the collapse of the USSR widened the gap between guns produced during the Soviet years and modern ones. But nevertheless, domestic weapons still had no equal in terms of price-quality ratio and it seemed that this would always be the case. The imported guns that poured in in the 90s turned out to be unaffordable for most hunters.

Time passed, Russian gunsmiths stubbornly did not notice the obvious shortcomings of their products, and eminent foreign companies were not going to reduce the price. But everything changes over time, globalization has reached this closed sphere. Our market has turned out to be attractive to countries that were not previously among the producers of such goods. And the most interesting thing is that they began to immediately buy this unknown weapon. The low cost and good appearance came in handy. And the fact that there was complete uncertainty - whether the price was adequate for the quality of the weapon or not (are ours really that bad?) did not even deter me from purchasing it.

Parameters and equipment

One of the first such smoothbore shotguns was the semi-automatic Akkar Altai, you can read a review about it here. And now another gas exhaust system is gaining popularity - Sarsilmaz.

It is produced by a Turkish company that does everything (I don’t know if this is good or bad). Having once taken over the Italian brand Bernardelli, this company, which produced only military weapons, also began to manufacture hunting weapons.

Design and principle of operation

The semi-automatic machine operates on the already proven principle of removing powder gases. Sarsilmaz's receiver is made of duralumin. In those places where the shutter comes into contact with its walls there are steel guides.

This unit uses an interesting solution to adjust the load on the gas exhaust mechanism. This is done by turning the piston over (by the way, it is completely chrome-plated). Both positions are marked "ligt" and "heavy". Which essentially means that shooting with a semi-magnum and magnum is allowed, respectively.

3

Another interesting feature of this gun is the sighting rib. It is not straight along its entire length: along the entire length of the barrel it is lower than on the receiver. Hunters who own this device say that this does not bother them at all.

4

Disassembling and cleaning this semi-automatic machine is fundamentally no different, for example, from the MP-153 or Bekas-auto. Everything is simple and clear. Difficulties can arise only at first, and then because of the manufacturer’s unwillingness to clearly and clearly outline this process in the instructions.

Advantages & Disadvantages

The bulk of positive reviews boils down to the following:

- low cost, - wooden (plastic) and metal parts are made quite accurately and with high quality, - trouble-free operation of the automation, - good shooting action of the gun, - moderate recoil, - the ability to use cartridges with a pressure of 90 MPa, - light weight, - good application and maneuverability, — in general, the gun looks simple but beautiful.

What shortcomings were noticed:

- the low-cost design of the gun is visible, - the use of self-loading cartridges often leads to jamming (as expected, which gun does not suffer from this), - the butt plate is inconvenient, - unloading the under-barrel magazine causes difficulties at first.

In addition, I would like to add that the lightness of the gun is confusing. Is this not the result of using thinner and ultra-light alloys? Won't this, like in Altai, affect the durability of some components and parts of the mechanism? Some hunters still have questions about the presence in some cases of axial play of the barrel relative to the receiver.

Of course, it is too early to evaluate this hunting weapon. Too few hunters own it and, moreover, for a short time.

It will show whether the unprecedented trust placed in this model is justified and whether it is really that good. After all, using Ackar as an example, we saw that not everything is so smooth, so we will wait for new reviews and impressions from the owners.
