Shooting in Macedonian style. Who and why came up with such a method of firing to kill?

For your information!
In this article, we describe the phenomenon of Macedonian shooting itself, and
do not compile lists of games and films where it is present
. No one here is interested in your opinion about the degree of epicness of the two-handed naughtiness, so all edits mentioning the next movie or game will be rolled back, and their authors will be shot on the spot with a jet shit launcher, for great justice!

Words can't describe how cool this dude is right now.

Shooting in Macedonian style

(
shooting with two hands
, English
Dual Wielding, Akimbo-style
[1]) - a secret jutsu of short-barreled gunners, giving +15 to the rate of fire, +2 to lethality, +10 to show-off and -20 to accuracy. It consists of taking a short barrel in each hand and shooting with both hands at the same time. In words everything is simple.

[edit] What are the difficulties?

Classic way.
The difficulty is that human brains are not designed to do two things at the same time. This means that the skill of not only shooting, but also hitting must be practiced for a long time and persistently, so that it can then work at the level of reflexes. That is, an ordinary person who picks up a pistol for the first time and starts shooting will most likely not hit anyone. The skill of shooting (and hitting) from two barrels at two different targets in motion is generally almost useless and in practice is used (with the arms not spread out to the sides, as in the movies, but brought together at chest level) to break through from cover to cover. Previously, this was used by tsarist counterintelligence in order to compensate for the lack of cartridges in the drum and achieve a good density of fire, because an officer with a rifle or machine gun in the center of a peaceful city or deep in the rear would raise many questions. Later, with the development in Russia by the 40s, a separate style of shooting with two hands, based on the “swing of the pendulum,” appeared in counterintelligence (SMERSH). Targeted shooting with both hands is carried out only at one target. But then she looks spectacular on the big and small screen, which is why she is loved by directors. For example, in “Brigade” there was an attempt to reveal the subject in one of the episodes, where a certain mercenary demonstrated this technique and commented.

If you are sure that this technique will allow you to get a double portion of frags in any war game, then first just try carrying two bowls of soup filled to the brim in both hands. If any noob can handle one plate, then moving two plates without spilling the contents will be a mess. (Wow, Cool Waiter - 2 trays, and there are more dishes. There are probably cool killers among us...%))

With the advent of compact and fast-firing barrels, be it Browning High-Power (13 rounds 9x19), mini-Uzi (15/20/30), Glock (17), MP-7 (20 by 4.6mm) or Bison (64 by 9 *18 mm), all of the above is outdated.

As practice shows, with the advent of tactical pistols with a large capacity (double-stack magazine, for example, 20-round Stechkin, 18/33-round Glock 18, FN Five-Seven with 20/30 rounds), two-handed shooting is not used
at all
, since the emphasis is on accuracy, and the pistols themselves are fast-firing and compact.

  • But it’s worth noting that you don’t always have a small, fast-firing barrel on hand like that same Bison, but there is a pack of standard pistols like the Soviet Makarov (eight-shot). Then shooting with two hands allows you to perform blindly/offhand, somehow pin the enemy to cover with suppressive fire, or decently fire at a tight corridor from around the corner.
  • It is also worth noting that an ambidextrous person, even if he has trained his second hand on household tools, can easily keep the direction of the shot on the forearm, without even looking at the target. The width of a person’s peripheral view is 180 degrees for flashes, about 120 for meaningful vision, up to 80 for sighting. The neck also rotates 120. How can you practically get away from opponents at 180? Who’s stopping you from glancing in one direction, aiming, glancing in the other (the eyes, by the way, react faster than the muscles of the arms), and hit double? It's difficult, but it's possible. Tested by practice on pneumatics. The main thing is not to shoot one at a time; the aim on the other hand will be lost. On gunpowder, probably 15 centimeters... But this is also a matter of habit. Well, of course, this works up to 20 meters, as long as the silhouette of the enemy is in peripheral vision, and the hit will be in the area of the body. ( corpse - corpse, body ;) )

Quiet escape

Having regained consciousness, Alexander was seriously afraid for his life. He immediately admitted that he was a killer and begged to be saved, promising to thoroughly repent of all his crimes. The doctors did everything possible, and after a series of operations, Solonik, who had lost one kidney, began to recover. He did not keep his word. More precisely, while in rehabilitation, he took upon himself all possible “orders”, even those that he did not commit, and then, realizing that nothing threatened his life, he began to disown them.

As soon as the doctors told the investigators that there was no point in keeping Solonik in the hospital, a decision was made to transfer the suspect to the famous capital’s Matrosskaya Tishina detention center. Solonik was assigned to a separate cell, where he, while passing the time, began to learn English and look at the globe brought to him by the lawyer. This behavior did not alert the detectives, but in vain: the killer was already hatching another escape plan followed by disappearance abroad.

He understood perfectly well that he would not be able to get out on his own. All that remained was to rely on his friends-patrons or on the rich mistress that Solonik managed to acquire in the capital: Natalya doted on her Sasha and was ready to do anything for him. One can only guess which version worked in the end. However, according to rumors, a million dollars were allocated for the operation to free the killer.

On the night of June 5, 1995, the door to Solonik’s cell opened, and 20-year-old junior police sergeant Sergei Menshikov appeared in front of the killer. He ordered the prisoner to follow him, led him through the empty corridors of the detention center (presumably, other “Matroski” employees were in cahoots with Menshikov) and led him to the roof, where pre-prepared ropes and climbing equipment were waiting for them, with the help of which both descended the steep wall and disappeared.

The disappearance of the guard and the criminal was noticed around 1.30. At first, the detention center staff were alarmed by Sergei’s long absence. In this regard, it was decided to urgently inspect all cameras. The sleepy prisoners, accustomed to giving their personal information to the guards who had arrived, jumped up from their bunks one after another, and only in Solonik’s solitary cell there was silence. Having pulled the blanket off the bed, the law enforcement officers were stunned: instead of a dangerous killer, there lay a dummy. The alarm was declared, the entire local police were alerted, and operatives with dogs combed the surrounding areas. However, by this time the fugitives were already sitting in an apartment rented by Menshikov on the outskirts of Moscow.

[edit] Origin of the name

Shooting from two.
The amount of judgment Americans have about us is off the charts. The origin is a mystery even to historians. The main and most idiotic version is in honor of Alexander the Great, who had bodyguards who wielded two swords. As a rule, in the Ancient World and the Middle Ages, only those warriors whose shield was broken in battle could fight with two swords.

Contrary to the opinion of the shkolota, brother Alexander Solonik (nicknamed Macedonian) has nothing to do with this. In this case, he was named that way for his shooting style, and not vice versa. In addition, the Greek origin of the Kurgan killer also played a role. In literature, this term is found in the book “In August 44th (Moment of Truth)” by former Smershev soldier Vladimir Bogomolov, where one of the heroes was especially respected for his ability to “swing the pendulum,” which also included shooting in the Macedonian style. Read a book.

Bogomolov took the term himself, as he claimed, from real life. In 1934, the Macedonian (more precisely, Bulgarian) terrorist Vlado Chernozemsky killed the King of Yugoslavia, Alexander I Karageorgievich, and the French police, in confusion and fear, killed their minister Louis Bartha, whose murder was then blamed on the Macedonian for forty years. Bogomolov claimed that Chernozemsky shot with both hands, and contemporaries, impressed by the patient’s performance, called the method “Macedonian shooting.” Bogomolov’s mistake is that Chernozemsky was armed with only one

"Mauser" 1896.

Previously, this shooting was called Turkish shooting, Sepoy shooting, Reitar shooting, Cossack shooting, and many, many other things. The point of shooting with two hands was the cheating use of hit-and-run tactics - to jump out in a small cavalry detachment at the enemy in order to quickly and closely, shoot with two pistols at a stunned enemy, and then, depending on frostbite and possession of cold weapons, or smack , or cut down the Duremars stunned by losses. Squeezing was used much more often. Macedonian shooting was used by the Balkan Orthodox Slavs (Macedonians, Bulgarians, Serbs, Montenegrins) in the 2nd half. XIX century (probably later) to cut out the Turkish and Austrian occupiers. With the right hand, full-fledged aimed shooting was carried out, and with the left, there was simply synchronized non-aimed banging to the right or to the left (rarely in the same direction) to induce panic and hamper the actions of opponents. That is, in practice everything is harsh and unfussy, although it requires sufficient training and skills. And it has nothing in common with the vysers of the theorists of the anal homo special forces, “shaking pendulums.”

That's bullshit, kids.

Cemetery Rapist

Solonik explained his departure from the educational institution simply: he burned out. Alexander was disingenuous: the future liquidator lost his place in the sun because of his excessive love for the female sex. As soon as he entered police school, he began an affair with the wife of one of the party leaders. He could not stand the insult and did everything to ensure that the unlucky lover lost the opportunity to continue his studies.

By that time, Alexander was in great need of money: he was married for the second time, he had a son, and his first wife, who gave the Kurgan man a daughter, was waiting for alimony. Under the patronage of his acquaintances from the “rocking station,” Solonik managed to get a job at the city cemetery: there he was given a crowbar and shovel and sent to dig graves. On the very first day, he made friends among his colleagues: the future leaders of the Kurgan organized crime group Oleg Nelyubin, Vitaly Ignatov and Andrei Koligov felt a kindred spirit in the newcomer.

While the company was just hatching the idea of forming a gang, Solonik’s life took a dashing turn: in 1987, he was detained on suspicion of raping a local resident. According to the materials of the criminal case, this happened while the suspect was working in the authorities. Alexander, while on duty, met a girl on the street and invited her to visit. At home, he began to pester a new acquaintance, she refused love pleasures. Reasoning that nothing would happen to him as a policeman, Solonik violated the young lady.

At the trial, the victim told how she tried to escape, but the door was prudently missing a handle, and the woman was unable to open it. The rapist categorically denied guilt: according to him, everything happened by mutual consent. The judge did not believe Solonik’s words and sentenced him to eight years in a maximum security colony. Hearing the verdict, he became furious.

Those present at the trial watched as he moved towards his wife, who was present in the hall, ostensibly to say goodbye. But he didn’t get there: threatening the judge with rape, he pushed the guards away and jumped out the window. Despite the considerable height (the courtroom was on the second floor), Solonik landed without consequences and ran away. A familiar undertaker was waiting for him at the funeral service bureau: he hid the fugitive criminal in a hearse and freely delivered him to his home.

[edit] Historical

Gankata performed by Gramton-cleric Preston
It was used by almost all pistol users in the 16th-18th centuries. Pistols were then even sold and carried exclusively in pairs. The reasons are one or two bullet slots, a common trigger and a very long reload time, so if one of the pistols misfires, you shoot from the other.

Advanced (but not musketeers) pirates of the 17th century always used only two single-barreled pistols. The tactics are simple: two shots in the direction of a group of opponents, after which the pistols are usually thrown directly to the ground, and a mass fencing session begins. Subsequently, the method was somewhat upgraded - short-barreled pistols were placed in a special belt on the chest, into which 4-6 pieces fit, and to fire the desired pistol was taken by the handle and simply turned along with the entire structure towards the target. In this way, a high density of fire was achieved and there was no need to look for abandoned weapons on the battlefield, plus the abundance of iron on the chest provided some protection from the enemy blade. The disadvantages in the form of terrible accuracy in the boarding battle did not bother anyone much, although aesthetes could take out pistols individually and play with more precision.

Eliminate the killer

The killer did not want to go into open confrontation, but he could not resist discussing hated people. He didn’t even realize that his villa was equipped with bugs (listening devices were installed on the orders of Andrei Pylev by Solonik’s colleague, the full-time liquidator of the Medvedkovskys, Alexey Sherstobitov (Lesha Soldat). And he continued to fearlessly dream out loud: they say, everyone - both the Pylevs and Butorin - should be given the opportunity put to waste.

The Orekhovo-Medvedkovskys understood that this was empty chatter: Solonik’s Kurgan cronies were defeated by law enforcement agencies, and he had no support. On the other hand, where is the guarantee that the killer will not find a new powerful owner with whom he will have the same plans to eliminate unwanted bandits? The leaders of the OPS did not doubt for long: in the presence of Lesha Soldat and another famous killer of those years, Alexander Pustovalov (Sasha Soldat), they did not need the Kurgan thug. Solonik was given a death sentence.

His namesake was assigned to eliminate Alexander. Sasha Soldat took two militants with him and at the beginning of 1997 he took a direct flight to Athens. The plan was clearly developed: the thugs settled in a villa next to Solonik and made contact with the future victim, fortunately the two Alexanders had friendly relations. Everything turned out exactly as planned: Solonik was delighted with the visitors and their offer to clear their minds by taking a joint walk around the city.

[edit] Who uses it

  • By special services - if it is not possible to use anything other than a pistol, then there should be two of the latter.
  • Nigrai and other gangsty - in street wars. Even if the accuracy drops, the nigra will still not be able to hit the target even with a laser designator, but the increased density of fire (especially if Uzi and similar SMGs are used) increases the chance of being hit by a stray bullet, and the nigra with two barrels looks much cooler, which is more important. Almost the same as holding the gun on its side - ineffective, but much cooler. [2]
  • Charismatic villains - from great cool.
  • Charismatic heroes - for the same reason.
  • Sasha Makedonsky - the epic killer of the Russian 90s. Real name: Alexander Viktorovich Solonik. He received the nickname “Macedonian” because he knew how to shoot “the Macedonian way.” Well, or because he is a racial Greek.

Market massacre

Having shot Kalina, Solonik was not on vacation for long: Nelyubin, Ignatov and Koligov soon involved him in their problems. The trio was eager to get the Harlekino entertainment club, which at that time was protected by the Bauman organized crime group led by thief in law Valery Dlugach (Globus).

The liquidator was given two goals: in addition to Globus, his “deputy”, one of the founders of the group, Vladislav Vanner (Bobon), posed a serious danger to the Kurgan people. Dlugach was the first to die on the battlefield of the criminal redistribution: Solonik shot him on April 10, 1993, at the exit from the building of the discotheque “U LIS'S”. The killer accurately fired a bullet into the boss’s chest from a distance of forty meters.

Bobon outlived his colleague in the craft by almost a year. On January 17, 1994, he was in a car not far from the shooting club on Volokolamsk Highway, where he had brought his son to shoot. The child was sitting in the back seat, a security guard was driving, and Vanner was sitting next to him in the front passenger seat. Solonik fired precisely through a small hole in the concrete fence: with the first shot he killed Bobon, followed by the bodyguard (he died later in the hospital). The boy was not injured in the shootout.

After the liquidation of the Bauman elite, there was a temporary lull in Solonik’s life. Sometimes they began to involve him in showdowns with disobedient traders: Alexander successfully talked some down, and let others go to waste. On October 6, 1994, the killer, in the company of another Kurgan thug, arrived at the Petrovsko-Razumovsky market in order to resolve another conflict. They were walking along the shopping arcades, when suddenly they heard a demand from behind to show their documents.

Turning around, Solonik saw two policemen. Their fate was decided: the liquidator understood that any contact with law enforcement agencies could lead to his arrest. Noticing that the suspicious couple was confused, the guardians of the law demanded to go to the department.

Solonik took this as the road to the scaffold. He categorically did not want to “take down” the policemen, and not because it was a pity: the killer understood what responsibility awaited him for this act. But the liquidator did not plan to go to jail. And he made up his mind: finding an opportune moment, he pulled out a Glock and opened fire. Both law enforcement officers died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

Noticing that several more policemen were running towards them, Alexander and his friend rushed in different directions. The killer's companion managed to escape, and Solonik, hiding behind a wide pillar, desperately fired back. He killed another law enforcement officer, wounded a market security guard and took off running. The killer was flying as fast as he could, the railway track was visible ahead, and the road behind it - which meant there was a chance to catch the car.

The liquidator did not reach the rescue paths by a few meters. The bullet fired by the policeman hit him directly in the kidney. Solonik lost consciousness from acute pain. After examining the patient, the paramedics who arrived at the scene decided: he was not a survivor, the wound was too serious, and there was significant blood loss.

Some guns can be carried through a metal detector without being noticed.

Photo: Alex Borland / PublicDomainPictures
In the movie “Die Hard 2,” a bandit carried a Glock 17 pistol into the airport. Bruce Willis’s character killed the scoundrel and, having picked up his gun, identified the find as “a German porcelain pistol that is not caught by metal detectors and is worth more than your monthly salary "

In reality, the Glock 17, although made partly from polyamide - a synthetic plastic - still contains metal parts and is perfectly detected by Firearm Laws Volume 1: Federal Infringements metal detectors.

Plastic parts are added to guns to make them lighter and easier to maintain, but you still won't be able to avoid metal detectors with them. So far, there are no more or less combat-ready barrels made without the use of metal.

[edit] Notes

  1. It should be noted that the first definition applies to any weapon, including cold weapons, and implies the very fact of arming a fighter in this way, while Akimbo-style specifically refers to the process of shooting with two hands from a firearm.
  2. And this is not without meaning for the left hand, if you shoot in the Macedonian way. When shooting from a pistol, cartridges will fly out to the right, and if you shoot with your left hand, there is a risk of getting a hot cartridge in your eye or burning your right hand. And if you keep your left hand to your side, this will protect the shooter. For a clear example, see x/f “Training Day”

A gun loaded with blanks is useless

Stills from the film “Lie Down in Bruges”

There is such a cliché. The villain points a weapon at the hero and shoots, but the hero only laughs. After all, he changed the cartridges, replacing them with blanks, and now the gun in the hands of the scoundrel is no more dangerous than a child’s water pistol. Or not?

In fact, shooting with a blank cartridge can maim or kill.

If you shoot a person in the eyes with a blank from a short distance, he will most likely die or lose his sight.

Penetrating ocular trauma associated with blank cartridge is also known that a jet of powder gas at close range can pierce the chest, stomach or skull.

Laser pointer beams are red and visible

Still from the film “Outpost”
In the movies, special forces soldiers, snipers and other armed guys equip their guns with laser target designators - they shoot beams that make it easy to understand where your bullet will fly and where your comrade is aiming. Red rays in the dark - it looks stylish and cool.

But such rays unmask the shooter, so not a single fighter will use them. Instead of lasers emitting in the visible spectrum, OPTICS DESIGN FOR LASER DESIGNATOR CUM RANGE FINDER infrared ones are used - they can only be seen Why are the infrared laser beams of laser aiming devices like the AN/PEQ-15 'visible' with night vision? With a visible laser, you can only see the beam if the air is dusty in the night vision device. And they don’t look red, but white and green.
