Lawn Next is a fifth-generation medium-duty truck from the Gorky Automobile Plant. The car was designed taking into account all modern market requirements. A commercial truck designed for mass production consists of reliable, well-tested components and parts. Also, its cost is considered affordable, since the main category of buyers are small entrepreneurs. Even the peculiarities of Russian roads are taken into account. There are two versions: Next city lawn for the city and regular. In the urban version, the wheel diameter and ground clearance are reduced. The Lawn Next chassis always has two axles, even in planned versions with a load capacity of more than 5 tons.

The new Lawn Next is designed to replace outdated ZIL-130 and Bychok trucks. These 5 ton trucks were produced in millions of copies and are very much in demand. Their mass-dimensional class is completely identical. The Next city lawn has excellent aerodynamic characteristics. In the “van” version, an additional fairing can be installed.
Modifications
“Lawn-Next” are dump trucks that appeared relatively recently. But they already have three modifications:
- C41R11 with three-way discharge. Load capacity is 5 tons. Its overall dimensions are 6435 x 2307 x 2418 millimeters. The wheelbase length is 3770 millimeters. The curb weight is 8.7 tons. A diesel engine with a power of 152 horsepower is installed. Its volume is 3.76 liters. It belongs to the Euro-4 standard. Capable of reaching speeds of 100 kilometers per hour. The wheel formula is 4 x 2. The gearbox has five stages. The spring suspension made the Lawn-Next truck more passable. The dump truck, the price of which is 1.1 million rubles, was produced in 2014.
- The C41R31 model has an extended platform compared to the previous modification. Its dimensions are 7910 x 2307 x 2418 millimeters. The wheelbase is 4515 millimeters. Curb weight - 8.7 tons. The carrying capacity is slightly less, it reaches 4.7 tons. The diesel engine has a volume of 4.43 liters and a power of 137 horsepower. Refers to the Euro-4 standard for environmental friendliness. Suspension - spring. The wheel arrangement of the dump truck is 4 x 4. Five-speed gearbox.
- The C42R11 model, featuring a double cabin, can accommodate up to 7 passengers. At night, the rear row seats can be turned into a comfortable sleeping place. The dimensions of the dump truck are 6475 x 22925 x 2450 millimeters. Wheelbase - 3770 millimeters. The car weighs 8.7 tons. Load capacity is 4.9 tons. The engine is diesel with a power of 152 horsepower and a volume of 3.76 liters. The second engine option that can be installed on the car has a volume of 4.43 liters and a power of 149 horsepower.
Engine YaMZ-53441
A truck produced in 2022 and beyond can be equipped with an engine that meets an environmental class of at least Euro 3. The manufacturers of the Lawn Next truck went even further and installed a motor that complies with Euro-4 class. This means it has a catalytic converter, exhaust gas recirculation system, and an electronic control unit to achieve high efficiency.
The transition from Euro 4 to Euro 5 and 6 requires the use of platinum catalysts, short-life particulate filters and fuel additives. It will not be introduced on trucks anytime soon.
In commercial vehicles involved in regular scheduled transportation, the engine covers kilometers very quickly, so the reliability requirements there are completely different than in passenger cars. The Lawn Next car is equipped with a YaMZ-53441 engine. This motor was suitable for the combination of price, reliability and environmental class.
YaMZ-53441 is an in-line four-cylinder diesel engine with an optimized design without unnecessary complications. It uses classic hardware and new software. All components and mechanisms have condition sensors that are connected to the vehicle’s on-board computer. In the specifications this is referred to as an “EOBD system”. The built-in computer diagnostic system makes car repairs much easier.
Design
"Gazon-Next" are dump trucks that are assembled on the same platforms as the GAZ-3309. The platform is raised by a hydraulic cylinder, which consists of three parts. The cockpit contains levers with which control occurs.
Vehicles can additionally be equipped with sides and an awning, which prevent materials from spilling. They increase the volume of the body to 10 cubic meters. In addition, additional extensions can be installed on the side extensions, increasing the volume to 11.5 cubic meters. At the same time, steps and a handrail, which are installed in the front part, will allow you to look inside. The roof is protected against damage if materials fall on it during loading.
How does Lawn-Next differ from its predecessor, the GAZ-3309? Dump trucks are equipped with new and improved cabins. They are more spacious. In addition to the driver's seat, there are two more seats for passengers. All levers and buttons are located in a convenient place for the driver. For driver comfort, the steering column is adjustable.
Body types for small business needs
In small businesses, the most popular will be the Lawn Next Europlatform, side lawn and van. These three body types can transport a full range of packaged commercial goods. Loading and unloading is done manually or using standard loading equipment, mainly forklifts. The use of machines with CMU is quite beneficial. The presence of a crane allows you to radically reduce the cost of loading and unloading. The CMU itself weighs no more than 600 kg and does not greatly reduce the load-carrying capacity of the machine.
In small businesses related to food products, Lawn Next refrigerated and Lawn Next isothermal are in demand. The drive of the refrigeration unit comes from the on-board network. This is done in small-capacity refrigerators, which are loaded with already frozen products.

Gazelle Lawn Next is distinguished by a wide variety of produced bodies. Today there are dozens of options, and both GAZ group factories and various private workshops are engaged in their production, producing equipment to suit their needs in small and medium series, for example: Lawn Next garbage truck, manipulator, dump truck.
Installation of most replacement mechanisms requires a hydraulic system. The main engine of the machine is used to drive the hydraulic pump. There are two options: a hydraulic pump drive from the transfer case and a drive with a device that supports power take-off while driving. The second option is necessary for municipal equipment. Lawn Next dump truck and Lawn Next manipulators, on the contrary, must have a safety device that prevents the hydraulics from being turned on without the vehicle completely stopping.
The Lawn Next Farmer form factor is optimal for use in various services. In public utilities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, even in apartment moving, it is better to sacrifice one meter of the length of the loading platform and place a two-row cabin there. The Lawn Next tow truck is manufactured on the basis of the City version with a reduced wheel diameter and loading height. The load capacity of 5 tons allows you to evacuate all types of cars and minibuses. In city services, it is more advisable to use lighter tow trucks for transporting passenger cars, for example, based on the same Gazelle, and call Lawn Next for more complex cases. Air suspension Lawn Next
In passenger cars, air suspension is found only in the premium segment, but in trucks and buses it is found even in the most budget class. This is due to the fact that the truck carries loads greater than its own weight and the suspension must compensate for such large-scale changes. Making spring suspension with adjustable stiffness is extremely difficult and expensive, so air suspension is the only option. The Next City lawn has a very short suspension travel, so the qualities of air springs are especially valuable there.
Interior
Inside, the Next modification has become much more spacious - about 1/3 more than the Lawn 3307. When you are inside, you understand that it has become more comfortable, because of this you even doubt a little whether this is a domestic car?
The interior space is largely similar to elements of the Gazelle Next. It is convenient to keep an eye on the road; the driver is helped by a fairly high seating position and a massive windshield. There are also innovations that are non-standard for cars of the Gorky Automobile Plant, such as:

- Cruise control;
- Heated seats.
And all this comes as standard. Volga passenger sedans cannot even dream of this, but the Russian truck has it all! In front of the driver is a 4-spoke multi-steering wheel, which looks quite modern, almost the same as on other foreign cars.
GAZ-Next has a standard audio system with a CD player that supports the MP3 format, and also provides for mounting a pair of music speakers. The gas (accelerator) pedal is electronically controlled, but time will tell whether this can be considered an advantage given the quality of domestic spare parts.
Inside it can comfortably accommodate 3 adults, although a double cabin can be ordered with a driver and 6 passengers. Everything is quite simple, but at the same time convenient. The designers of the Gorky Automobile Plant did a good job on a comfortable fit, good ventilation and noise insulation.

They also stiffened the driver's compartment with Anvis mounts. The driver's seat has a large number of settings and a mechanical suspension, which minimizes driver fatigue even during a long trip.
The basic configuration also has armrests. The instrument panel looks intuitive and quite clear, there is a pleasant backlight. The center console has a free niche for installing third-party multimedia devices.
Truck tractor Lawn Next
The use of a five-ton truck as a truck tractor now looks quite unusual. Meanwhile, this solution was widely used previously. The same ZIL-130 (which Lawn Next is intended to replace) could tow a semi-trailer with a pre-mounted fifth wheel hitch. Now the Lawn Next truck tractor has been manufactured as a sample accepted for production. The car is waiting for its customers. Manufacturers promised 16 tons of transported cargo and the lowest cost of transportation due to fuel savings.
Ergonomics
The company's specialists and designers paid great attention to the ergonomics and driving performance of the vehicle. was powered, allowing the dump truck to respond precisely to the control specified by the driver. For which, by the way, a lot of additional comfortable means were also made, which could make the driving process even more comfortable.
We are talking about a chair that completely follows the anatomical structure of the human body, and also has five adjustments to its position so that each individual driver can adjust the seat “to suit himself.”
Excellent cabin ergonomics allow the driver to control the machine almost intuitively. This means that the buttons and control levers are located at arm's length, which allows the driver to manipulate them with ease. Compare with the ergonomics of the Terrion tractor.
Many note the high visibility of the cabin, which was achieved by increasing the space in the cabin. Sound insulation is also at a high level.
