Air rifles cz 200 t and cz 200 s: characteristics, device, photos and videos

Back in 1910, the German Mellis in Zella began producing “pocket” (small-sized) self-loading pistols. During the First World War, Walter's factory, selling its Model 4 to officers, turned into a reputable industrial enterprise. Continuation of work on small-sized pistols led to the turn of the 1920-1930s. to one of the most successful models of personal weapons of the 20th century.

The first serial self-loading pistol with a self-cocking trigger mechanism was produced in 1920 by A. Tomiska in Czechoslovakia. However, it was not particularly successful in the small-sized pistol market, already firmly occupied by Brownings. But it succeeded, which in 1929 created a pistol, which became known under the designation PP and was also equipped with a self-cocking mechanism. Although the company itself initially designated it as a “self-loading pistol model 1930.” or as Model 10 - as a sign of continuity with its previous models (and Model 8 “Walter” can be considered the greatest predecessor of this model). But since the pistol was designed to be worn in a holster by police officers, the abbreviation PP (Polizei Pistole) corresponded to its main purpose. Moreover, the commissions that monitored Germany’s compliance with the “Versailles restrictions” in the field of military weapons were calm about the armament of police services.

The automatic operation of the pistol operates due to the recoil energy of the free bolt, which completely covers the barrel. The return spring is mounted on the barrel. The hammer-type trigger mechanism with an open hammer and a screw mainspring allows for self-cocking or pre-cocking. A non-automatic safety catch was mounted in the rear part of the bolt, which, when turned on, blocked the firing pin and safely (without firing) released the hammer from cocking, and the hammer did not reach the firing pin. The presence of self-cocking in combination with a quick-release safety allowed the pistol to be safely carried in a holster with a cartridge in the chamber and speeded up the firing of the first shot. The cartridges were fed from a single-row detachable magazine. To make it easier to change the magazine and provide additional support for the shooter's hand, a plastic cover could be attached to the magazine cover. The magazine latch was located behind the trigger guard. When the cartridges in the magazine were used up, the bolt delay was activated.

The self-cocking mode, reliable safeties, a semi-hidden trigger, smooth contours, a comfortable handle and sighting device, good accuracy with relatively simple disassembly and maintenance procedures, external contours that made it easier to carry and quickly remove the weapon - all this determined the high popularity of the RR pistol. The pistol was originally produced under the widely used 7.65x17 Browning cartridge, but subsequently the range of calibers was expanded.

A smaller model of the RRK (Polizei Pistole Kriminal) was officially developed by order of the Prussian criminal police for concealed carry by plainclothes officers. The RRK was introduced to the market in 1931. The pistol differed from the RR in its reduced size, shape and fastening of the grip cheeks, frame details, and some changes in the details of the trigger mechanism - the latter changes, however, soon “transferred” to the “Walter” RR. Just like the “Walter” RR, the RRK pistol was presented in versions chambered for the widely used Browning cartridges - 7.65x17, 9x17, 6.35x16HR. In addition, 5.6 mm RR and RRK chambered for the .22LR rimfire cartridge were produced. Based on the RR, a pistol chambered for the 9x18 “Ultra” cartridge was also released.

Pistol Walter PPK

As pistols were produced, the 7.65 mm Walther RR pistol was added to their design. continued to make changes. In particular, they strengthened the frames and simplified the assembly of the shutter. Since 1933, an indicator of the presence of a cartridge in the chamber appeared on serial RRs - the indicator rod protruded behind the bolt above the trigger, which required slightly changing the shape of the trigger (the 5.6 mm version did not have this indicator). The trigger itself has been lightened. In 1944, the index was removed to simplify production. In 1938, the angle of rotation of the fuse box was reduced from 90° to 60°. There were versions of the pistol with an extended barrel with a mount for a silencer.

The “Walter” RR managed to enter service with the police of Weimar Germany and quickly gained popularity in the market. Among the first, massive orders for RR and RRK pistols were issued by the National Socialist Motorized Corps and the assault troops of the Nazi Party, and after the Nazis came to power, the “Walter” RR became almost a “state” model for officials of various departments, party functionaries, and law enforcement agencies. Already in 1939, a pistol with the millionth serial number was produced. Pistols were also actively purchased by the armed forces as compact personal weapons - before the end of World War II, the German armed forces received about 200 thousand Walther RRs and about 150 thousand RRKs.

Pistol Walter PP

“Walter” RR was also purchased by foreign countries - for example, the 9-mm version was purchased by Iran on the eve of World War II to arm the police. After World War II, previously issued RRs continued to “serve” in Germany and the GDR, as well as in many other countries. In Denmark and Sweden, for example, they remained in service with the police for a long time. In Great Britain, they also continued to use the Walter RR, which they got as trophies.

Licensed copies of "Walter" RR were produced in France (), USA (Interarms), Turkey (MKE), South Korea (Daewoo). In Hungary, a copy of “Walter” PP was produced by LAM (FEG). In general, the design of the Walter RR pistol after World War II turned out to be one of the most widely copied in the world. Sama, based in Ulm an der Donau in Germany, returned to producing the RR and RRK models in the 1960s and was quite successful. The new "Walter" RRs were chambered for 7.65x17 and 9x17 cartridges with magazines with a capacity of 8 and 7 rounds.

About rifles MP-512 and MP-514

The MP-512 and MP-514 rifles are very different from each other in the layout and details of the mechanism, but both use the same principle of shooting and are very popular among fans of sporting use of pneumatics and those who buy such weapons for entertainment.

The MP-512 is a classic rifle that many know from shooting ranges, where it was actively used and is still used to this day. MP-514 is a modern interpretation of the same classic, but in a new form factor (bullpup), and with a completely different concept. Nevertheless, the same reinforced gas springs can be installed on both of these rifles; they are suitable for both the MP-512 and the younger model.

The mechanism of the rifles itself is spring-piston. Reliable and proven in terms of effectiveness. Standard 4.5 mm ammunition is used, which is easy to find in any city at relatively low prices. The muzzle energy of both rifles is up to 7.5 J, which means that they can be purchased without a license. However, these indicators can be improved if you install a gas spring on the MP-512 and 514.

As for ergonomics, it differs between guns, since they differ greatly in shape. We can only say that both models received very positive reviews from the community; there are no particular complaints about ease of use. The loading mechanisms are also different: the MP-512 is a classic single-shot “breaker” with the barrel moving downwards, and the MP-514 is equipped with a drum magazine for 10 lead bullets, and is reloaded by moving the barrel upwards.

Why change the spring?

A reinforced gas spring for the MP-512 and MP-514 can be one of the most recommended and major improvements for these shotguns. The fact is that these springs greatly improve shooting performance and completely change your air rifle experience.

The gun begins to shoot further, and the speed of the bullets becomes faster. But that's not all the benefits. The fact is that, unlike the standard steel spring, which is installed on the MP-512 and 514, the gas spring has greater durability. It does not lose elasticity and continues to shoot with the same effort. All you need is to undergo maintenance on time.

Each subsequent maintenance gives another 8000 guaranteed shots. The spring is not replaced, but simply serviced. This will not happen with a regular factory spring: material fatigue accumulates, elasticity is gradually lost, and eventually you have to replace it.

Design and principle of operation

CZ 200 is a PCP rifle, if you don’t know what it is, then this is for you. The 200T comes standard without a gearbox. According to some reports, the rifle should be equipped with a diopter sight, but for some reason, as a rule, this sight comes separately, for an additional fee.

The rifle stock is made of dark beech. The handguard and butt exist separately from each other. Moreover, the forend is attached with just one bolt (Fig. on the left) - this is far from the best solution in terms of structural rigidity. Things are better with the butt - it is already secured with two bolts (picture on the left). Like all sports pneumatics, the CZ 200 T has extensive options for adjusting the shape of the stock. The butt comb is adjustable in height, and the length of the butt itself can be changed using additional inserts (they are included in the standard package). In addition, it is possible to move the butt plate up and down.

The receiver is made of aluminum alloy, with a black coating. The cocking handle is made of white plastic; experienced shooters prefer to replace it with a metal one. Cocking (carried out by moving the handle up and back) is very easy and smooth. On a new rifle, when chambering a bullet, the last 3-4mm of travel occurs with little effort, this “slows down” the chambering sealing ring. When the shutter is closed, it is locked in the down position.

The barrel is steel, has 12 right-hand rifling. The muzzle chamfer is made quite well, but if desired, it can be further modified. There is a plastic muzzle with an 11mm dovetail for attaching the front sight. The barrel is attached to the receiver using two bolts (Fig. on the right) and can be removed quite easily. The receiver-barrel connection is not sealed in any way.

The rifle is single-shot, but you can additionally buy a drum-type magazine for 10 bullets or a rectangular one (like the IZH-61) for 5 bullets. However, in this case, problems may arise with installing the optical sight.

The reservoir is removable; it can only be charged by unscrewing it from the rifle; a pressure gauge is installed. The standard delivery set includes a filling station, as well as a device for bleeding air. It is possible to use a gearbox.

Description

The CZ 200 T model is positioned by the manufacturer as a sports air rifle (such rifles are also called match rifles). This rifle is truly one of the best options for beginner athletes. At a relatively low (for this class) price, the CZ 200T shows excellent accuracy. It must be said that the rifle is quite easy to modernize and overclock. Thanks to the latter circumstance, Cizetta 200 T has become widespread not only among athletes.

The rifle is equipped with a filling station (hereinafter referred to as GS) for refueling from a high-pressure cylinder (hereinafter referred to as HP), as well as a small device for relieving pressure. At the end of the barrel there is an easily removable plastic muzzle with precise mounting for the front sight. Unfortunately, the kit does not come with open sights, although on the website www.czub.cz in the photo, this model is equipped with a diopric sight. Therefore, after purchasing the CZ 200 T, if you are going to use it for its intended purpose - that is, sports shooting at 10m - you need to take care of purchasing them. Or, if there is a desire for further tuning and shooting at long distances, then an optical sight. The barrel is beautiful, has 12 grooves, 15mm on the outside and 485mm long. The tank is made of steel, equipped at the end with a WIKA pressure gauge and a combat valve (also a filling valve). The receiver body is made of duralumin alloy; it is small in size, lightweight and technologically advanced. The rifle has a high-quality stock with adjustable length and geometry of the rubber butt pad, and adjustable cheek height. The forend has a duralumin rail at the bottom with a T-shaped profile and a plastic 8-piece in the front part that holds the tank and barrel.
BUT the peculiarity of the design is that the forend and butt are not a monolithic structure, the butt is screwed to the receiver, the forend is also attached with a screw to the receiver, and in the front part through a plastic 8-piece to the reservoir and barrel. This is a problem area, because to fill the tank it must be unscrewed, so the attachment to it cannot be rigid, and it turns out that the forces applied to the fore-end are transmitted through the upper part of the 8-pointer to the barrel, which in turn leads to the floating of the middle point of impact ( STP). And the rifle is very accurate, allowing you to not leave the 10mm circle on the target at a distance of 25m. And this design flaw is very unpleasant. But of course there are two ways to solve this problem, here they are according to the complexity of the implementation: 1. it is necessary to hang the barrel, but with a twist-out tank this is impossible - therefore it is necessary that the tank be filled without being removed from the rifle, for this a special extension is made which is screwed into the tank on place of the pressure gauge, the pressure gauge is already screwed into this extension. The whole point of this part is the cross filling port. It all looks like this:

After installing this device, we screw the tank into place once and for all. Now we move on to the plastic 8-piece glued into the wood of the fore-end. The hole into which the barrel passes must be drilled to a diameter of approximately 17mm, which will give a millimeter on each side with a 15mm barrel diameter. The hole for the reservoir needs to be narrowed, you can use ordinary tape wound around the reservoir at the point of contact with the forend, you can take a longer screw and screw it in from below (into the standard place) to pull the forend to the reservoir. So, you have taken the first step towards accurate shooting. 2. But if the desire to improve remains, then usually people take the second step - a solid bed. There are a lot of options for such stocks, there is also a branded Czech stock (but many do not like its design). There are stocks made by our craftsmen for different people and for different tasks. Here are a couple of "budget" options, the material is plywood, a standard butt plate and rails are installed in the stock:

The shape of these stocks, in principle, repeats the outlines of the original stock; the only thing is that, being monolithic, they feel better in the hands and do not “play”, instilling confidence in the reliability of the rifle. More complex/expensive doges made from valuable wood species. Here the craftsmen do not skimp, and beech, oak, walnut, and zebrawood are used. The stocks themselves can also be of more complex shapes, designed to conveniently hold the weapon in your hands when shooting from different positions, such as: standing, sitting in a fill-target position, or simply at a table; for this, it is advisable to install a bipod on the rifle. Here is an example of such lodges:

Also, to increase the number of STABLE shots, you can install a reducer in the gap between the tank and the plug with the firing valve. The reducer produces constant pressure to the valve, regardless of the pressure in the tank. This increases the consistency of bullet velocity from the first to the last shot, which in turn improves the overall accuracy of the rifle. As a matter of principle, I will not raise the issue of increasing power, so I will finish the description of rifle tuning here.
