The Grand Power T10 traumatic pistol was produced in Slovakia by weapons designer Jaroslav Kuracina. When developing the pistol, a military analogue of the weapon was taken as a basis - the Slovak Grand Power K100, which is currently the main “police” weapon in Slovakia. In addition to the police, the K100 is used by the Slovak special forces, it is armed with members of the Slovak army, and sports shooters readily use the pistol. In addition, the pistol is sold in many countries.
Grand Power injury models and characteristics
All Grand Power models are a clear example of the fact that traumatic pistols can be an effective means of self-defense. Moreover, it is not necessary to load them with ammunition with a power that is similar to live ammunition; you just need to find a balance between the pistol barrel and the cartridge so that the barrel bore does not cause a decrease in the force of the shot, but allows you to fully open the potential of the ammunition.

Design
Grandpower ltd. from Slovakia, loudly declared itself in our country when it converted its K100 firearm into a trauma pistol, and for a long time took a leading position in the market of weapons for self-defense. Thus, in 2008, the T10 pistol was developed, which is imported into the Russian Federation by PKP AKBS LLC.
However, competition is constantly evolving, and after a few years even very discerning consumers were no longer able to say for sure “which injury is the best” due to the development of the weapons market and the products of individual companies, among others. It was at this time that the leading designer and head of his company, Yaroslav Kuratsin, took up the creation of a new model, which was designed to consolidate all the advantages of his own design and correct all the shortcomings. The traumatic pistol was called T12.
The first thing the user will feel when he takes this weapon in his hand is high-quality plastic, pleasant to the touch and lightweight. The use of the latest materials does not end there; for example, the bolt frame is made of an alloy of molybdenum, nickel and chromium; this material undergoes a number of chemical and heat treatment measures. The trigger, barrel, frame, bolt carrier are made of high-quality steel and are additionally protected by a special coating against corrosion.
Trigger mechanism
The trigger mechanism is made according to the classic design: double action and trigger type. The mainspring is located on the trigger and is made of high-strength metal, which is called “spring” among gunsmiths. Unlike the previous model, the fixation of the safety lever has also been changed: now it will not be able to operate on its own during operation, even with significant wear of the pistol, which was noted with the T10 model.
Barrel design
Also, Grand Power T12 is distinguished by the design of the barrel, which is now devoid of partitions and pins. Thus, a smooth barrel simply gradually narrows, which does not allow loading and firing live ammunition. Given this design, the T12 is legally designated as a “limited action firearm.”
The Weaver rail at the bottom of the frame makes it possible to install a laser laser or tactical flashlight. The safety is located quite conveniently: you can activate the pistol in one motion by moving the flag down. In the event of an emergency for the owner of a “Grand Power”, and this is precisely why a traumatic pistol is purchased, it is not at all difficult for a trained user to remove the weapon from the holster and at the same time remove the pistol from the safety catch. For the convenience of the arrow, the fuse boxes are located on both sides.
Number of cartridges
17 rounds of ammunition – this is exactly the number of rounds that fits in a clip – is quite enough for self-defense even against several hooligans. The clip itself is box-type, the cartridges are arranged in two rows, but line up in one during firing. The latch is located near the base of the trigger guard.
Front sight
There is also another important difference from the Grand Power T10 - the front sight can be removed. Most users who use these pistols prefer to replace the factory front sight with a product with a luminescent dot or fiber optic rod, this makes shooting at night or in bad weather much easier.

Self-defense weapon: Grand Power T10 pistol
The Grand Power T10 pistol is currently certified as a limited-kill firearm
The Grand Power T10 pistol was produced by the Slovak company GrandPower, whose head is Jaroslav Kuracina. The T10 pistol was developed specifically for the Russian market of traumatic self-defense weapons based on the design and design of the combat Grand Power K100. While developing the Grand Power T10, Yaroslav was and currently remains a participant in the most popular Russian weapons forum talks.guns.ru, where he communicated with buyers and users of traumatic weapons, taking into account their wishes and interests. The T10 has been on the Russian market for rubber shooters since 2008 and has become in good demand, even despite its high cost.
The advantage of the Grand Power T10 pistol, compared to other imported models, is the use of weapon-grade steel in the production of the bolt-casing, frame base and other metal parts of the weapon. The ambidextrous safety and ambidextrous magazine release are very convenient for left-handed people. In general, the Grand Power T10 pistol has excellent ergonomics, one of the best among all traumatic pistols presented on the Russian market of self-defense weapons. The shape of the handle ensures comfortable holding and the correct “grip” during aiming and during firing. The Grand Power T10 traumatic pistol is distinguished by the same high quality of manufacturing and surface treatment as its combat prototype.
Of course, there are also disadvantages. Due to the double-row magazine and double-sided safety lever, the Grand Power T10 pistol is thick and quite large in size, which makes it difficult to carry it concealed, especially in the summer, under light clothing. There were problems with the magazines, but the magazines currently in production for the Grand Power T10 pistol function flawlessly, there were no complaints about them. The early release Grand Power T10 had unsatisfactory bolt stop function. For greater muzzle energy, it is TECHNICALLY possible to use more powerful 9mm RA cartridges, although quite powerful 10x22T cartridges are currently being produced and when using them, a non-standard 9mm RA is required. disappears.
The automatic operation of the Grand Power T10 pistol works based on the use of blowback recoil. The return spring is located under the barrel. On the frame, or rather on its steel base, the barrel is rigidly fixed, which, in order to prevent firing with solid bullets, is equipped with protruding bore channels through which the rubber bullet passes due to its deformation. The trigger mechanism is hammer-type, double-action, with safety cocking. The Grand Power T10 magazine has a double-row arrangement of cartridges with their exit in one row. The front of the frame has Picatinny slots that allow you to attach various additional accessories to the weapon, such as a tactical flashlight or laser designator.
In my personal opinion, the manufacturer has now brought the technology and design to a truly high level, eliminating the problems that appeared at the initial stage of production, designing a truly successful traumatic pistol based on the requirements and restrictions. True, its very worthy successor is now being produced - the T12 traumatic pistol chambered for a more effective and more suitable cartridge for this weapon. In general, it is more reliable in operation and more functional than the T10, thanks to the changes made to the design, which is quite natural. At the moment, in my personal opinion, the T12, like the T10, is an excellent choice if you need a full-size pistol for self-defense or sport. With proper selection of a suitable holster, these pistols are the best choice among rubber arrows of the same dimensions. The only disadvantages here are the fairly high cost and the fact that they do not fire normal live ammunition.
The Grand Power T10 pistol is currently certified as a limited-kill firearm.
Advantages:
- Lasting
- Large magazine capacity
- Availability of spare parts

Advantages and disadvantages of the model
The service life of the barrel allows the shooter not to worry about rapid wear and tear and use the pistol not only in emergencies, but also for recreational or sport shooting
Although the concept of “accuracy” is not often used when describing the characteristics of a traumatic weapon, the accuracy of this pistol is excellent
High power when fired. A bullet that was fired from a distance of 5 m, when hit in the leg or torso of an attacker, is guaranteed to stop him even in a winter jacket
Some components that are manufactured at Russian enterprises are of questionable reliability
Large sizes do not allow the pistol to be carried concealed under light clothing
Quite a high cost, unlike similar pistols
Reviews from Grand Power T10 owners
“The T-10 pistol is one of the best rubber pistols in Russia today. The first thought that pops into your head when you pick it up for the first time is “It’s perfect, it’s reliable, it’s beautiful.” And these are not empty words. The handle is ergonomically designed so that the pistol fits like a glove in your hand with the correct grip. At first it may seem that the weight distribution of the pistol is incorrect and biased upward, but this is not true. As soon as the magazine is fully loaded with cartridges, this thought goes away completely. Its weight becomes uniform and then you can fully experience the comfortable ergonomics of this pistol.
A special word should be given to the controls. All organs are duplicated on both sides, in other words, bilateral. This fact cannot please left-handers. Versatility. In addition, the controls are very conveniently located. The exception in my opinion is the slide stop lever. It is ergonomically awkward and flat. It wouldn't hurt to recycle it. Although functionally it copes quite well. The sights are simple and convenient - a big plus.
For those who appreciate additional accessories, there is a Picatinny rail. You can install any accessory that has this bar. Some may say that these accessories are not needed on traumatic weapons, and this can be debated for a pointlessly long time. The presence of the rail does not in any way affect the technical characteristics of the pistol. It is there - that’s already a plus. From my point of view, the appearance of the pistol is very beautiful, powerful and laconic. The design of the pistol, despite its appearance and the first impression of it as a very complex mechanism, disappears after you perform incomplete disassembly.
It is very simple, but technologically advanced and structurally beautiful. Separately, it is worth mentioning the massive design of the frame and barrel. No analogue can boast of this. The safety margin is very large. When buying such a pistol, you can forget about the fact that the barrel can blow. Shooting from the T10, as expected when you hold it in your hands for the first time, is comfortable. The payoff is nice. The accuracy is very high. For a rubber arrow from 10 meters, accurate shooting is an achievement, provided that the ammunition recommended by the manufacturer is used.
Of the minuses, perhaps the only negative thing to note is the poorly chosen store. The T-10 pistol is essentially a modification of the R-1 pistol, which in turn is a semi-compact modification of the K-100 pistol. With the same length of the cartridge case, the traumatic and live cartridges have different lengths. The T-10 pistol used the same magazines as the combat pistol, so the cartridges in them are placed incorrectly and are fed accordingly, not very correctly. They simply dangle due to their short length. At the factory level, this problem was most effectively solved with the help of ramp inserts into the magazine shaft (on the front wall), which took up unnecessary space and pressed the cartridges, and also served as a stabilizing ramp when feeding a cartridge into the chamber.
The ramp insert is the idea of one of the participants of talks.guns.ru. Its design and execution have been discussed for quite some time and brought to maximum practicality and efficiency. Only after this labor-intensive process did the chief designer give the go-ahead for their production and installation in stores directly at the factory. As you know, the T-10 pistol, even at its inception, was discussed and criticized by everyone, and in fact, potential buyers, so the fact that third-party people came up with the insert is not new, it’s the norm! Truly a people's pistol that deserves, at a minimum, attention and respect.
There is another solution - replacing the store. This solution is radical and of very high quality. As a new magazine, a magazine from the Fort-14 pistol is used, which is produced by KNPO Fort in the city of Vinnitsa, Ukraine. The magazine of this pistol has more compact internal dimensions, and therefore traumatic cartridges lie in it correctly and are fed at the desired angle and height. But in order for these magazines to be used in a pistol, they need to be slightly modified. Drill a hole for the clamp, work here and there with a file and sandpaper. You can find out more about this on the talks.guns.ru forum in the corresponding “Grand Power Products” thread.
In addition to these disadvantages, some potential buyers indicate such as heavy weight and dimensions. However, I don't agree with this. The weight of the pistol suits me quite well. Shooting is even more comfortable than with a light pistol. This weight does not load the hand. As for the dimensions. Yes, the pistol is not small, but it is still possible to carry it concealed, even for rather slender persons. Advice for those who choose a self-defense weapon. Take the T-10 pistol in your hands - does it fit in your hand? It's yours - buy it, you'll never regret it. If you don’t lie down, you can’t come to terms with it – it’s not your choice.
The gun is not at all difficult to operate and maintain. It is suitable both for people with sporting interests (shooting for accuracy), and for those who want to receive decent help in protecting their lives and the lives of their loved ones. Take care of your weapon, treat it with respect, know how to use it, and it will help you out of difficult life situations more than once. A weapon, unlike a person, is always adequate; it will never betray you unless you want it. Consciously or not, it doesn’t matter. And this, you see, is a big plus! Best regards, KraftsHerz."
“Pros: very accurate; very powerful; large magazine capacity (although by law you can charge no more than 10); after “breaking in” about 100-200 shots, it becomes more or less reliable; all parts except the handle are made of steel; indestructible trunk. Disadvantages: at first it often sticks (it is treated individually); the plastic handle sometimes cracks (although rarely); it is inconvenient to carry the T-10 every day due to its small dimensions; easy on/off fuse; The barrel may play on the frame. In summary: a very good pistol, both for self-defense and for shooting at banks. Relatively reliable. But due to its size, I sold it, because... You won’t always take him with you, unlike Makarych.” Roman ak-74m.guns.ru
“I’ve been using T10 for a year. The accuracy is very good. I would say excellent. It fits in the hand like a glove. Reliability is 100% after modification of the magazine (insert). No sticking of “chimney pipes” happens. Very satisfied". aleksandor.guns.ru
“The development of the T10 is complex and requires experience, but the result is the most powerful and accurate pistol, which shoots superbly with all types of ammunition, but is heavy, less reliable and less safe than the same popular Groz pistols of various models. I only use it for training, like a K100 model.” DIV_Guns.guns.ru
“I have T10 of the 5th batch.
Advantages
- In terms of operational safety margin, the pistol is indestructible (if you don’t use it to hammer nails).
- The workmanship, in my opinion, is the best on the rubber arrow market.
- The pistol fits comfortably in the hand, there are no complaints about the ergonomics.
- Accuracy when using 30 J cartridges is also, in my opinion, the best among rubber shooters today.
- The recoil is not very large - comfortable for sport shooting.
Flaws
- When you take it in your hand, it does not give the impression of a weapon - the plastic of the handle and body subjectively seems empty, like a Chinese toy. You immediately understand that in your hands is not a model based on an army model, but a police-civilian model.
- Due to the haste to enter the Russian market, the pistol's magazine was not modified for traumatic cartridges. As a rule, a pistol cannot fire more than 1-2 rounds in a row out of the box - there are constant wedges and distortions of the cartridges. The magazines need to be modified, which increases reliability, but does not exclude periodic distortions, especially the outermost cartridge in the magazine.
- The size and weight make it difficult for everyday carry as a self-defense weapon.” Zatoichi.guns.ru
Grand Power disassembly
The stages of partial disassembly for cleaning should be known to every owner of a pistol who is interested in ensuring that it does not jam at a critical moment, or for modernization such as installing a different mainspring. The Slovak company has made disassembly as simple as possible; it resembles the disassembly of a Makarov.
Main steps:
- Get the clip.
- Remove the pistol from the safety catch.
- Make sure there is no cartridge in the chamber.
- By pulling the trigger rod, move the bolt frame to its rearmost position and remove it from the guides.
- Remove the bolt carrier from the barrel by moving it forward.
- Remove the return spring.
These simple steps are enough to periodically clean the gun. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.
You can see more details about disassembling the pistol in this video.
Getting permission
After presenting the required documentation, permission for a traumatic weapon is given by the authorized body assigned to the district police department. To obtain permission you need:
- Take training courses on the rules of handling weapons, their storage and use.
- Successfully pass the test on the acquired knowledge.
- Pass a medical examination and receive the appropriate certificate.
- Contact the OLRR with an application, which is filled out according to the form.
- The application is reviewed for 30 days, then a positive or negative decision on extradition is made. During the entire period, a person who has expressed a desire to buy a traumatic weapon is checked.
The district police officer checks whether the place for storing the pistol is equipped and whether the installed safe complies with all legal standards. After the inspection, a report is drawn up and sent to the OLRR.
If a permit is refused, a person can challenge this decision in court.
To obtain permission, the applicant must collect and present the following package of documentation during a visit to the OLRR:
- fill out an application where you need to indicate your passport information;
- attach a medical certificate in form No. 046-1;
- two 3x4 photos;
- original and photocopy of civil passport;
- receipt for payment of the state fee for the permit;
- certificate of completion of a weapons training course, as well as passing an exam.
After receiving the documents, permission is given for a period of five years. After this period, the owner of the pistol must renew it. To renew your permit, you must follow these steps:
- 3 months before the expiration of the permit, submit an application to the OLRR for an extension.
- Submit originals and photocopies of a medical certificate and passport.
- Two 3x4 photos.
- Pass recertification of knowledge on the rules of handling weapons.
- A check is carried out at the place of residence of the owner of the weapon: the district police officer must be shown the place where the pistol is stored.
After all the activities and payment of the state fee, a decision on issuing a permit will be made within 2 weeks. Its validity period will also be five years. After this time, the owner of the pistol must again renew the permit according to the scheme described above.
