Today we will talk about the new Soviet level eight ISU-152K anti-tank gun, which has been submitted for supertest and has already begun testing. Yes, as the hero of the film “The Twelve Chairs” said, the young woman was no longer young.
So it is in our case. The new tank is a modification of the ISU-152 “St. John’s Wort” self-propelled gun, beloved by many players.
In the best traditions of World of Tanks of recent years, the pumped-up prototype was nerfed and a premium analogue was made, whose characteristics were inflated. Let's try to figure out what the ISU-152K can offer us after its release in the game.

Historical reference
ISU-152 (Object 241) is a Soviet heavy self-propelled artillery unit (SAU). The abbreviation ISU means “self-propelled unit based on the IS tank” or “IS-installation”; the letter “I” was required to distinguish it from the self-propelled guns of the same caliber SU-152 at another tank base. Index 152 indicates the caliber of the vehicle's main armament.
Developed in June - October 1943 and put into service on November 6 of the same year. Serial production continued until 1946. ISU-152 were widely used at the final stage of the Great Patriotic War in almost all aspects of the use of self-propelled artillery.
The slang name for ISU-152 is “St. John’s wort.” In the Wehrmacht it was called "Dosenöffner" (German: "can opener").

- The 152 mm BL-10 gun has high penetration and high one-time damage.
- The V-2-54IS engine significantly increases dynamics.
- Radio stations 10RK and 12RT - increase communication range.
- 122 mm BL-9S gun - required to be researched to obtain Elite status.
Why "St. John's wort"?
Yes, because not a single animal, from the “Panther” to the “Mouse,” can feel calm if its opponent is our hero. In the world of tanks, the ISU-152 is a thunderstorm of heavyweights of any level and equipment. The BL-9s gun is rightfully considered a real disaster for and (which usually “burst” with one hit from this very fast-firing gun), and the top-end BL-10... It’s just a fairy tale!

For the first slot, we teach all crew members the “ Camouflage” , and for the commander the “ Sixth Sense” skill - the “Camouflage” skill will reduce the overall visibility of the tank, and the “Sixth Sense” will allow you to determine whether his tank is detected by the enemy. Also, all crew members need to learn an additional skill “ Combat Brotherhood” , which improves the level of proficiency in the specialty, must be studied by everyone at once, preferably used in the second or third slot.
- the Eagle Eye skill , which increases the viewing range.
- For the gunner we learn the skill “ Smooth turret rotation” , which reduces the spread when turning the turret; and the Sniper , which increases the chances of causing damage to modules and crew members.
- For the driver mechanic, we learn the “ Smooth Move” , which reduces the dispersion of the gun in motion; and the Off-Road King , which reduces drag on soft to medium ground when driving.
- “Desperate” skill , which reduces the reload time when less than 10% strength remains; and the “Intuition” , which creates the possibility that when changing the type of shells, the desired one is already loaded.
- For the loader, we learn the skill “Non-contact ammo rack ,” which increases the strength of the ammo rack; and the “Intuition” , which creates the possibility that when changing the type of shells, the desired one is already loaded.

On the second slot we install the removable Stereo Tube equipment, which adds + 25% of a stationary vehicle after three seconds after stopping. On the last slot we install removable equipment Camouflage Network, which significantly reduces the visibility of a stationary vehicle three seconds after stopping.
Equipment:
List of equipment that can be installed on the ISU-152:
The equipment should be equipped with a standard set of equipment: Small repair kit , Small first aid kit , Hand fire extinguisher . The fire extinguisher can be replaced with Lend-Lease oil , which will increase engine power by 5% . For tournaments or when there are a lot of credits, you can replace the fire extinguisher with Extra Ration 10% to all skills .
Ammunition:
152 mm BL-10 gun , we’ll take most of the armor-piercing shells, but against more armored enemies it’s worth taking a few premium sub-caliber shells, which will make the game easier. High-explosive fragmentation shells will be useful for us to shoot down the capture of the base and finish off opponents with a small margin of safety. The total ammunition load is 20 shells.

What equipment should be installed on the ISU 152?
It is the formidable gun that makes the tank imposing and intimidating. Among the opponents of the tank there are no brave souls who would risk roaming freely under the gun of this combat vehicle. The installation was given an excellent BL-10 gun, the base damage of which is 2560 units, and this is not counting bonuses from the crew and equipment.
The gun has excellent damage per minute, a good alpha strike, and armor penetration is excellent. The tank doesn’t even need to use gold shells to destroy the top ten. The tank would have no equal if not for several flaws: average accuracy, long aiming time and mediocre stabilization. All this will not allow you to hide in a remote secluded corner of the map and shoot unsuspecting opponents. You will have to keep an average distance and sometimes even risk your strength points.
UVN and UGN are also far from ideal, but you can get used to firing. If you know the strengths and weaknesses of the installation and apply this knowledge in battle, then you can produce consistently high results at the end of the battle.
Advantages and disadvantages of the tank:
Advantages:
- Highest penetration at the level;
- Huge one-time damage per shot;
- Strong and large gun mantlet;
- Normal mobility;
- High camouflage coefficient.
Flaws:
- Lowest accuracy among PT-8;
- The longest mixing among PT-8;
- Lowest viewing range among PT-8;
- Weak armor;
- Poor maneuverability.
Pros and cons: St. John's wort WoT
Among the minuses, in addition to the parameters of the gun, it is worth noting the small visibility, poor movement dynamics and protection. All these are the weak points of most powerful tank destroyers, so even the shortcomings do not deprive the vehicle of its status as one of the best installations in the game. The advantages of a tank allow you to confidently distribute damage to opponents and impose your own rules. And tank destroyers have many advantages:
- good speed;
- the most powerful alphastrike;
- reliable and well-protected gun mantlet;
- excellent armor penetration.
And to make your strengths bring even more benefits, use the experience of other players in the harmonious upgrade of tank destroyers.
More detailed information about the technique:
The ISU-152 battle tank is similar in appearance to its predecessor, as well as in the style of play. The 152 mm BL-10 gun has the highest penetration and enormous one-time damage, but poor accuracy and long aiming times. This weapon is ideal for different playing styles. The hull armor is penetrated by almost all tanks encountered in battle. Therefore, it is worth staying at a great distance from the main battles. The gun’s strong and large mantlet allows it to withstand enemy shells from level ten and below, so it’s worth forcing the enemy to aim at it. Mobility is normal, which allows you to take good positions at the beginning of the battle with cover to hide the right side. The low viewing range is compensated by additional equipment. The large size and long hull make it a prime target for artillery and medium tanks, as the combat vehicle is the main strength of the team.
Bottom line: The ISU-152 tank is ideal for an ambush fighter and support. This type of AT is the most popular in the game - it is associated with a powerful weapon that causes great damage and most often penetrates the enemy.
Performance characteristics of the Soviet tank destroyer 152(K)
The tank destroyer does not have a huge safety margin: 1200 units. But this is enough to stand in the bushes and monotonously destroy opponents. In addition, the tank has a powerful gun mantlet that absorbs a lot of damage. But it is better to take care of the forehead and sides: their protection is mediocre and is not capable of withstanding the formidable onslaught of the enemy in close combat. The visibility is also small and amounts to 350 meters, which can be corrected by proper pumping.
There is another important feature of the tank destroyer design: vulnerable fuel tanks, which turn the unit into a blazing match with the slightest stroke of an enemy shell. You should be wary of getting into the wheelhouse - in the lower left part of it, as well as attacks along the right side of the hull.
For its weight, the tank destroyer has a good engine that allows it to reach speeds of up to 43 km/h. This allows you to quickly change firing points and evade pursuit. True, if the enemy still catches up, he can spin the not very agile installation. With all the features, the installation gun deserves special attention.

Brief summary of ISU-152K
The advantages of the technology include:
- Accuracy;
- Armor penetration: armor-piercing projectile and golda;
- Alpha;
- Patency;
- Stabilization of the gun.
The disadvantages include:
- Review;
- Stealth factor;
- Reservation.
Considering the stated characteristics, the ISU-152K will certainly appeal to many players. However, there is one caveat here. This is the “Isuha” beloved by many, which they simply offer not to upgrade for silver, but to buy with their own money.
