Guide to the Tier 4 Soviet tank T-80 WoT from aces.gg

Good day everyone and welcome to aces.gg! Friends, today we will talk about a car that is interesting in appearance, but not particularly remarkable in global terms. We will talk about a light tank of the fourth level of the USSR - this is T-80 guide

.

Frankly speaking, this vehicle is mediocre because it is not much different from its predecessor, the third-tier light tank T-70. Indeed, the T-80 has characteristics

They are very similar to their younger brother, but our level of fighting is higher and for this reason life in a random room is not at all easy.

TTX T-80

We will start with the fact that we have a small margin of safety at our disposal, especially in comparison with equipment of levels 5-6, as well as a mediocre viewing range of 330 meters.

If we talk about the survivability of our today's hero, there will be little good. The point is that the T-80 has characteristics

the reservations are meager, from the forehead, exactly the same as those of its predecessor. But if the T-70 could tank head-on at its level, then in our case, 75 millimeters of adjustment in the VLD is achieved by almost everyone, starting with classmates.

Other sections of the T-80 World of Tanks

even more subtle, be it the forehead of the tower or the side projection of the vehicle, almost any enemy penetrates us everywhere, the only exception can be considered the machine-gun armament of vehicles at a lower level.

But as opposed to cardboard armor, we have small dimensions and a fairly low silhouette. As you know, such advantages are good for camouflage, so find a Soviet T-80 light tank

hidden in the bushes is not an easy task.

As for the driving characteristics of this unit, they are far from perfect. Compared to other light tanks at the fourth level T-80 WoT

It has a rather weak maximum speed, low dynamics and only good maneuverability. All this tells us that this machine is mobile, but very tight and lazy.

Main battle tank T-80

The vehicle entered service in 1976 and became the world's first production tank with a main power plant based on a gas turbine engine. Development of tank gas turbine engines in the USSR began in 1955-1958. Then two experimental gas turbine engines with a power of 1000 hp were manufactured and tested. With. Subsequently, work on tank gas turbine engines was carried out in Omsk by the Separate Design Bureau No. 29 (1961-1965), the Design Bureau of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant and, since 1968, the Research and Production Association named after. Klimov. The latter’s team created a gas turbine engine, named GTD-1000T. The design of the combat vehicle partially used used elements of the T-64A tank: a cannon, ammunition, an automatic loader, individual components of the fire control system and armor protection.

The new engine, the increased weight of the tank and the changed dynamic characteristics were the reasons for the development of a new chassis: tracks with rubberized running tracks, hydraulic shock absorbers and torsion shafts with improved characteristics, support and support rollers, drive and idler wheels of a new design.

Thus, in individual design elements the T-80 was unified with the previously produced T-64A and T-72 tanks, but overall it is a new vehicle with an increased level of combat and technical characteristics. Let's take a closer look at the modification of the T-80BV tank, which was put into service in 1985. The tank has a classic general layout with a crew of three. The driver is located in the center of the control compartment. Improved visibility from its position was achieved by installing three viewing devices instead of one, as on the T-64 and T-72 tanks. The driver's workplace is heated by taking air from the gas turbine engine compressor.

The layout of the fighting compartment is similar to that of the T-64B tank. In addition to 28 rounds in the mechanized ammunition rack, there are three rounds within the fighting compartment (7 shells and their charges are located in the control compartment). In the engine-transmission compartment, a motor monoblock is located longitudinally, which required a slight increase in the length of the body compared to the T-64A. The gas turbine engine is made in a block with a built-in reduction bevel-helical gearbox and is kinematically connected to two onboard planetary gearboxes. The monoblock includes the gas turbine engine itself, an air cleaner, oil tanks and radiators of the engine and transmission, fuel filters and drive units: fuel feed pump, compressor, cooling and dust removal system fans, generator, starter and transmission oil pump.

The monoblock weighing 1050 kg is mounted in the housing on three supports. The MTO contains four fuel tanks with a capacity of 385 liters, the total fuel reserve in the reserved volume is 1140 liters. The main armament of the tank is a 125 mm smoothbore tank gun-launcher. The ammunition consists of 38 rounds of separate cartridge loading, 28 of which are placed in a rotating conveyor of an automatic loader of the same type as on the T-64BV tank. The 1AZZ fire control system includes a 1G42 rangefinder sight with an electrical unit, a 1V517 tank ballistic computer, a 1G43 shot resolution unit, a 2E26M weapon stabilizer, a set of sensors, a voltage converter with a frequency and voltage regulator.

A 7.62 mm PKT machine gun is paired with the cannon. For firing at air targets, there is a 12.7 mm NSVT anti-aircraft machine gun mounted on the base of the tank commander's hatch. The armor protection of the frontal part of the hull and turret consists of multi-layer combined barriers, the rest of the armor of the hull and turret is monolithic steel armor, with a large differentiation of thicknesses and angles of inclination, additional protection from cumulative projectiles is achieved by installing a set of mounted dynamic protection. Protection against weapons of mass destruction is ensured by the strength and rigidity of the hull and turret, the use of a lining and a lining, a sealing system and supply of purified air to the habitable compartments.

TDA and smoke grenade launchers are used to set up smoke screens. The tank hull is welded, the upper frontal part has an inclination angle of 68° from the vertical. The turret is cast, the sides of the hull are protected by rubber-fabric anti-cumulative screens. The tank is equipped with equipment for self-digging and for hanging a mine trawl. The T-80BV is equipped with a gas turbine engine GTD-1000TF, made according to a three-shaft design, with two independent turbochargers and a free power turbine. The turbine nozzle apparatus is adjustable, which ensures engine braking of the tank, limits the turbine speed and prevents it from running away when changing gears. Engine power - 1100 l. With. It is adapted to operate on jet fuels TS-1, TS-2, diesel fuels and low-octane automobile gasolines.

The engine starting process is automated; the rotation of the compressor rotors is carried out by two electric machines. The engine is made in one block with a reduction gearbox, which provides communication with the onboard gearboxes. The total capacity of the fuel system is 1840 liters. The tank's transmission is mechanical, planetary. It consists of two units, each of which includes an onboard gearbox, a final drive and hydraulic servos of the motion control system. The transmission also includes an oil system that provides lubrication of the units and the operation of hydraulic servos. Three planetary gears and five friction control devices in each gearbox provide four forward and one reverse gears. The crawler drive consists of tracks with a rubber-coated treadmill and rubber-metal hinges, support rollers with rubber tires and support rollers with external shock absorption, all-metal guide wheels and drive wheels, and worm-type tensioning mechanisms.

The tank uses an individual torsion bar suspension with a non-coaxial arrangement of torsion bar shafts, with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers on the first, second and sixth suspension units. The tank is equipped with equipment for underwater driving, allowing it to overcome water obstacles up to five meters deep without limiting its width. The air supply pipe has an increased diameter. The modernization of the T-80 tank led to the appearance of the main tank T-80U. This vehicle is a further development of the T-80B tank. The improvements affected all basic combat and operational properties. First of all, the survivability of the tank has been significantly increased due to changes in the design of armor barriers, the inclusion of built-in dynamic protection, and a slight increase in the mass of material allocated for the armor. The capabilities of conducting both long-range and close-range fire combat have been improved thanks to the use of a new complex of guided weapons, improved characteristics of the weapon and the fire control system.

Mobility indicators have increased due to the use of a more powerful gas turbine engine (1250 hp), improved transmission and motion control drives. The tank entered service in 1985. Since 1987, the production of a modification with a diesel engine, which received the T-80UD index, was mastered in Kharkov. The use of a two-stroke diesel engine led to design changes in the transmission and motion control drives. There are other design differences, for example in the installation of an anti-aircraft machine gun. The main characteristics remained unchanged. In order to improve the mine resistance of the tank, the driver's seat is not attached to the bottom, but is suspended from the roof (turret plate). A pillar is installed on the left behind the seat, increasing the rigidity of the structure. In the fighting compartment, unlike the T-80BV tank, seven additional rounds are placed (non-mechanized ammunition rack). The relative position of the devices has changed somewhat due to the introduction of duplicate fire control and the use of a thermal imager.

Fuel tanks are located in the control compartment, in the fighting compartment and in the logistics department. The capacity of the internal fuel tanks is 1090 liters. Another 680 liters of fuel are stored in five external tanks. You can install three additional barrels of 200 liters each on the tank. Thus, the transportable fuel supply reaches 2370 liters. To supply consumers with electricity and recharge the battery when the main engine is not running, supply electricity together with the battery when starting and cranking the main engine, the tank has a gas turbine power unit with a generator with a capacity of 18 kW; it is located at the rear of the vehicle in a bunker on the left fender. The power unit control panel is located in the control compartment. The main armament is the 125-mm modernized smoothbore gun-launcher 2A46M-1. The sight-rangefinder/guidance device has independent stabilization of the field of view in two planes and a pancratic magnification system from 3.6 to 12 times. It provides guidance and stabilization of the information laser beam, measurement and indication of range to targets, and generation of control signals for the gun and turret drives.

To adjust the zero aiming line without the crew leaving the tank, there is a built-in control device consisting of a rear sight on the muzzle of the barrel, a long-focus lens and a prism between the protective glass and the head of the rangefinder sight. The gun's ammunition consists of 45 rounds of separate cartridge loading. It includes a shot with a 9M119 guided missile, which has a cumulative warhead. The main part of the ammunition is placed in the rotating conveyor of the loading mechanism (28 shots). Other artillery rounds are located in non-mechanized stowages in the hull and turret (7 shells and charges in the control compartment, the rest in the fighting compartment). The fire control complex provides search for targets and tracking of them by the commander and gunner, automatic input of corrections for deviations of firing conditions from normal, guidance and stabilization of the cannon and coaxial machine gun, launch and automatic guidance of the missile, target designation from the commander. Functionally, it combines a control complex for a cannon and a coaxial machine gun; complex of guided weapons. The weapon stabilizer includes an improved small-sized electro-hydraulic drive for vertical guidance of the gun and an electric machine drive for the turret.

The gunner's night sighting system includes a thermal imaging sight, which can be used by the tank commander using his video viewing device, and a parallelogram drive with a device for introducing corrections to the position of the illuminator. The PNK-4S commander's sighting and observation system provides battlefield surveillance, priority duplicate control of the cannon and coaxial machine gun, firing of artillery shells from the cannon day and night, and target designation. The commander's combined day/night sight TKN-4S has independent stabilization of the field of view in the vertical plane. The sight includes two daytime optical channels (1x and 7.5x magnification) and a passive-active night channel. As auxiliary weapons, the tank has a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun coaxial with the cannon and a 12.7-mm NSVT anti-aircraft machine gun. The 9K119 guided weapon system consists of equipment installed in the tank and a shot with a guided missile. A semi-automatic laser beam remote control system is used to guide the missile. The missile's firing range is up to 5000 meters. The hull has a welded structure with large angles of inclination of the bow parts.

The upper frontal sheet is combined, with an inclination angle of 68° from the vertical. The turret is cast and has combined armor protection in the frontal sector. Dynamic protection is made in a built-in version and provides an increase in protection from both cumulative and kinetic projectiles. Protection of the crew from the damaging factors of weapons of mass destruction is provided by a collective protection system similar to the system of the T-80BV tank. The machine includes individual anti-radiation vests. The tank is equipped with a fast-acting PPO system ZETS13 “Iney”. The tank is equipped with a 1250-horsepower gas turbine engine GTD-1250, made according to a three-shaft design, with two independent compressors and a free power turbine. The main fuel is diesel. In addition, it is allowed to use low-octane gasoline and jet fuel. The transmission has, in comparison with the T-80BV tank, some differences due to the increased engine power and the use of hydraulic brakes. The chassis is the same as that of the T-80BV tank.

gun

The armament in our case is by no means monotonous, because there are two guns to choose from. True, both options can hardly be called strong, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, now you will understand everything yourself.

Let's start with the fact that the T-80 has a gun

There is a top one, level five. This is a heavy machine gun with a loading drum for 5 rounds. The alpha strike for each projectile is small, but the rate of fire and reload are very high and we can deal approximately 1475 damage per minute, which is not bad at all.

The problem is that with this barrel the T-80 light tank

has very weak penetration, which is barely enough to fight with classmates, but even at level 4 there is a technique that you cannot penetrate even with gold.

At the same time, the accuracy of this machine gun also leaves much to be desired. The scatter is large, the convergence is slow and there is no stabilization. Because of all these nuances, the firepower of the T-80 WoT

in this configuration it is incredibly low, not to mention that in battles against levels 5-6 you will not be of any use at all.

The pre-top gun looks much more profitable, its one-time damage is again low, but it has a high rate of fire, thanks to which the T-80 World of Tanks

turns out even more worthy, now it is approximately 1570 units.

In addition, with this T-80 gun, the tank receives good penetration, with which you can confidently fight even against most fifth levels. Of course, you will need gold to break through TT-5 and most sixes, but this is much better than not breaking through anyone.

With this barrel, things are much better in terms of accuracy. The analysis here is very compact, the information is excellent and only the stabilization has any complaints. In addition, the T-80 WoT received good elevation angles in both cases; the gun tilts down by 8 degrees.

More details on the research.

  1. T-80 reinforced - will add carrying capacity and also increase the maneuverability of the tank.
  2. The 45 mm VT-42 gun is quite versatile and gives access to top-end guns.
  3. The 45 mm VT-43 gun has high penetration, sufficient damage and excellent accuracy.
  4. Gun 37 mm automatic. Sh-37 - is semi-automatic with a high rate of fire, but low penetration of the projectile.
  5. GMC 6004 engine - slightly increases dynamics.
  6. Radio station 9РМ - significantly increases the communication range.

Advantages and disadvantages

Initially, it seems that this device is very mediocre and in terms of general characteristics this is absolutely true. But by choosing the right weapon, namely a 45-mm cannon, the T-80 World of Tanks

a certain potential appears, which will be easier to reveal if you know the advantages and disadvantages of the tank. Pros: • Pleasant level of camouflage; • Good maneuverability; • High rate of fire and suitable DPM; • Excellent accuracy; • Good penetration; • Comfortable vertical aiming angles. Cons: • Weak armor; • Poor viewing range; • Small margin of safety; • Mediocre mobility for a light tank; • Small one-time damage.

Tank T32 guide World of Tanks

Review of video guide for the T32 tank World of Tanks

Review of the video guide for the T32 WOT tank - this is an American heavy tank (TT) of the 8th level. T32 World of Tanks occupies a high position among all single-level TTs. It is better than anyone else in cities, as well as in open areas and is very useful when pushing a certain direction, like any TT.

Performance characteristics assessment

This American TT is subject to research of various modules, after its acquisition: Chassis, two different Engines (which should have been transferred from T29), Radio Station (from T29), Turret and Weapons (from T29).

In stock it is simply terrible, if you have free experience, then immediately upgrade the chassis and install a 105mm gun upgraded on the T29. Next is an excellent tower that will show how good the tank is in the clinch. The engine and radio are studied last.

The penetration zones of T32 have changed from T29 (cardboard): sides, stern, forehead, but not the turret!

Pros:

  • Fast gun reloading;
  • Excellent turret resistance (armor indicator for the turret);
  • Good viewing range;
  • Good vertical aiming angle;
  • Good frontal armor at an angle.

Minuses:

  • Poor hull armor;
  • Bad weapon;
  • Low armor penetration;
  • Low shooting accuracy;
  • Low one-time damage (alpha strike).
  • Crew:
  • — Commander;
  • Gunner;
  • Radio operator;
  • Charging;
  • Charging;
  • Driver mechanic.

The crew is similar to the previous level 7 tank T29, therefore, the crew can be retrained and transferred to this tank, which is what we are doing.

Video guide T32

Modules Additional modules. Characteristics and brief description

The weapons of this vehicle in the World of Tanks are very, very poor among all TT-level 8 vehicles, and the reason for this is poor armor penetration and poor shooting accuracy. With this weapon you can easily throw enemy TTs and STs into the rear, but not head-on. It is best used in clinching.

An important additional module (DM) is the “Medium-caliber gun rammer”. It is insignificant, but it will speed up the gun reload time and shooting accuracy, which is necessary for the T32. Also very useful DMs will be “Vertical Stabilizer” and “Improved Ventilation Class 3”. All this is also from our predecessor T29.

Mandatory set of consumables (consumables) for TT: “First Aid Kit”, “Repair Kit” and “Fire Extinguisher”.

note

The tactics of playing T32 are very simple. Because This is a heavy tank, therefore, there is only one tactic - “Tanking”. Choose a direction and move forward. Preferences in open areas: slopes, hills, uneven areas, because We have excellent vertical aiming and excellent turret armor, which must be exposed when firing. Simply put, we hide the hull, stick out the turret, and shoot the opponents.

So we have an average TT, with poor weapons, poor armor penetration, poor accuracy, but with an excellent turret.

Equipment for T-80

This tank needs the installation of additional modules and it is important to make the right choice. The problem is that we don't have much choice, but don't let that stop you. To achieve maximum results on the T-80 tank equipment

put the following: 1. – a win-win option that will give the necessary boost to several important characteristics in a complex. 2. – this module will allow you to solve the review issue without any problems, and it will also suit the style of play on this machine, but more on that later. 3. – goes well with the previous point and makes us even less noticeable, which is good for survival.

Tactics for playing the T-80

You already understand that the armor of this vehicle is weak, its mobility leaves much to be desired, and its safety margin is small. From this we conclude that in the case of the T-80 tactics

fighting involves playing from the second line.

Initially, you are required to take an advantageous position in the bushes, from where a good shot will open. Thanks to a very accurate gun, activating the camouflage network, the Soviet T-80 light tank

can calmly fire at a distance and not be afraid of getting caught in light.

Of course, you have to keep an eye on the mini-map and in cases where the direction is broken and the enemy is advancing, you will have time to use your mobility to retreat. Of course, if there are few enemies on the line, T-80 World of Tanks

may not give up the position, but send them to the hangar before they get to you. It is absolutely not advisable to engage in close combat, especially when we are talking about an enemy of a higher level.

In addition, our mobility is mediocre only by the standards of light tanks. Otherwise, T-80 WoT

- This is a very mobile vehicle, thanks to this quality you become a good support tank, able to quickly come to the aid of allies on the other flank or return to defend the base.

In conclusion, I would just like to remind you that monitoring the situation around you is very important and as soon as the T-80 light tank

falls into the light, it is better to hide immediately, because not only opponents in your visibility zone, but also enemy artillery can shoot at you.

Crew:

  1. Crew commander (Radio operator, Loader);
  2. Gunner;
  3. Driver mechanic.

Learning additional skills for the crew:

Standard crew for Active Actions:

For the first slot, we teach all crew members, except the commander, the “ Repair” , and for the commander the “ Sixth Sense” skill - the “Repair” skill speeds up the repair of damaged modules, and the “Sixth Sense” will allow you to determine whether his tank has been detected by the enemy. Also, all crew members need to learn the additional skill “ Combat Brotherhood” , which will improve the level of proficiency in the specialty - be sure to learn it all at once, preferably used in the second or third slot.

  • the Eagle Eye skill , which increases the viewing range.
  • For the gunner we learn the skill “ Smooth turret rotation” , which reduces the spread when turning the turret; and the Sniper , which increases the chances of causing damage to modules and crew members.
  • For the driver mechanic, we learn the “ Smooth Move” , which reduces the dispersion of the gun in motion; and the Off-Road King , which reduces drag on soft to medium ground when driving.

Studying skills and abilities of crew members for defense:

1234

For the first slot, we teach all crew members the “ Camouflage” , and for the commander the “ Sixth Sense” skill - the “Camouflage” skill will reduce the overall visibility of the tank, and the “Sixth Sense” will allow you to determine whether his tank is detected by the enemy. Also, all crew members need to learn an additional skill “ Combat Brotherhood” , which improves the level of proficiency in the specialty, must be studied by everyone at once, preferably used in the second or third slot.

Equipment, gear and ammunition:

On the last slot we install the removable equipment Camouflage Network, which reduces the visibility of a stationary tank after stopping after 3 seconds.

Equipment:

List of equipment that can be installed on the T-80:

The equipment should be equipped with a standard set of equipment: Small repair kit , Small first aid kit , Hand fire extinguisher . The fire extinguisher can be replaced with Lend-Lease oil , which will increase engine power by 5% . For tournaments or when there are a lot of credits, you can replace the fire extinguisher with Extra Ration 10% to all skills .

Ammunition:

45 mm VT-43 gun , we’ll take most of the armor-piercing shells, but against more armored enemies it’s worth taking a few premium sub-caliber shells, which will make the game easier. High-explosive fragmentation shells will be useful for us to shoot down the capture of the base and finish off opponents with a small margin of safety. The total ammunition load is 100

shells.
