The Russian traumatic pistol R226T TK-R first saw the light relatively recently - in 2015. This sample of traumatic weapon was developed by specialists from the Izhevsk enterprise Tekhkrim. The same company also launched the production of a pistol.
It should be said right away: this version of the Russian traumatic model is outwardly a complete copy of the famous German combat pistol Siq Sauer P226. The German whitefish has a 9x19 caliber; the pistol itself was released in 1983, and is still in service in the armies of several countries of the West and East.
The question of why the Izhevsk “Tekhkrim” copied the famous German analogue is from the category of rhetorical. In all likelihood, commercial considerations played a role here. Surely the developers expected that the mass consumer would be attracted primarily by the appearance of the weapon.
History of the Sig Sauer P226
The P226 was first demonstrated in 1981 in the XM9 competition for a modern pistol for the US Army.
The design of the new product was based on the P220 modification and was very similar to it. But the advantage of the updated pistol was the double-row clip, thanks to which the combat power was doubled. In addition, the width of the handle was increased; the designers were able to make it as ergonomic as possible, so the gun is comfortable to hold in your hand.
Another useful innovation was the double-sided installation of the magazine; the latch was made near the base of the trigger arc, which began to provide ease of use of the weapon for both right-handers and left-handers. As a result of these innovations, the model became one of the best 9mm combat pistols in the world during its first show.
The P226 has been extremely popular since it was manufactured in 1983. In 1989, the CIA ordered approximately 20,000 pistols with suppressors, and at the same time entered into an agreement to purchase the classic P226 for its employees instead of the Smith & Wesson 1076.
Since 1981, the stamp began to be supplied to the American Coast Guard. In 1993, the British military forces also armed themselves with weapons of this brand. Then the pistol began to be sold to Egypt and New Zealand. In the early 90s, the Sauer began to enter the Israeli Defense Forces. The P226 was used in 1991, during the combat operation in Iraq “Desert Storm”.
In 1990, the model was modified to accept the popular .40S&W caliber ammunition. Since 1998, modifications using .357SIG have appeared. The new models were structurally similar to the prototype and differed in barrels.
Options and packaging
Sig Sauer air pistols are sold in a fairly large box. It contains the instruction manual, a hex wrench for the covered screw for tightening and puncturing the gas cylinder, and a spare screw. In addition to the pistol, a pistol is also included as standard. For an additional fee, the user can purchase a side rail for an aiming device, a muzzle compensator and an adjustable sight.
Additionally, the standard package should include a quality certificate confirming the reliability of the product, as well as a set of projectiles for shooting. The latter are lead balls with a caliber of 4.5 mm.

Description of the pistol
The P226T TK-P has been produced in Izhevsk since 2015; it is a firearm that is as similar as possible to the popular Sig Sauer model of 9*19 mm caliber.
It is assembled in Russia from components created by the Chinese company Norinco. The pistol variation operates in accordance with the principle of free movement of the bolt frame. There is a double hammer-type trigger mechanism.
The design is characterized by the following:
- There is a small hole in the bore that prevents the firing of live rounds. There is a groove at the top of the barrel; it serves as a groove for the locking protrusion in the bolt frame, thanks to which the barrel is not removed from the bolt. Therefore, it is impossible to illegally alter traumatism.
- A Picatinny rail is installed in front, making it possible to attach a laser pointer or tactical flashlight. The frame is made of silumin. The barrel, bolt, trigger, safety and other parts are made of metal.
- There is a shutter delay lever on the left side of the frame above the clip release. A safety release lever is installed in front of it, increasing safety when using the weapon. This compares favorably with standard flag fuses. Above the trigger guard there is a lever that locks the bolt frame.
The P226T pistol is finished with a terracotta finish that is resistant to long-term use.
The weapon is sold in a plastic suitcase that is hermetically sealed.
Reliable gas cylinder. Pistol Sig Sauer Р226
Not long ago, the German Sport Guns company presented a gas-cylinder copy of the Sig Sauer P226 X-Five pistol, which, like the original, is of interest primarily to a rather narrow circle of specialists. During testing, employees of the German magazine DWJ found that the gas-cylinder pistol in its class of weapons is quite comparable to models of the P226 line, which has already become a classic.
A weapon that claims to be a classic does not necessarily have to be invented a long time ago or be in production for decades. Maybe this also applies to the repeatedly mentioned “rapid” two thousand years? As for the P226 X-Five pistol from SIG Sauer, in this case we can speak with complete confidence about a “modern classic.” And not only because the iconic P226 model has numerous modifications, differing in barrel length, caliber of cartridge used and equipment options, but also to a large extent due to the modular design, which allows the pistol to be maximally adapted to numerous options for its combat use. Both of these are the reasons that for 10 years now, weapons in the P226 line have enjoyed deserved popularity among police officers and military personnel, as well as among sports shooters. Wide range of possibilities
The P226 X-Five pistol is versatile and meets the requirements of various sporting societies. In the classic version, for example, it has everything that is initially necessary to participate in the disciplines of sports shooting from pistols with a maximum barrel length of 127 mm (5 inches). The pistol is made entirely of stainless steel, all its parts are of high quality, which, however, is typical for SIG Sauer. Despite the large number of similar weapons, the P226 X-Five model is still one of the pistols produced in Germany. And here weapons, as a rule, are manufactured using the most modern automated equipment, which, accordingly, entails an increase in the cost of production. Unfortunately, this fact is not always taken into account in the North American arms market. The standard price of the new P226 X-Five pistol is 2000 euros. To many Americans, it seems very overpriced.
Original P226 X-Five pistol. The photo was taken at the International Exhibition of Sporting and Hunting Weapons, Accessories and Outdoor Products IWA & OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg. The P226 X-Five model can already be considered a classic weapon.
A distinctive feature of the P226 X-Five model has long been considered to be the grip pads, made of wood and providing it with an attractive appearance that cannot be confused with any other pistol. This heavy model is made entirely of steel and has a barrel length of 127 mm (5”). Locking is carried out by engaging the upper lug of the breech of the lowering barrel with a cutout in the rear part of the window for ejecting spent cartridges (a modified Browning system, which is better known as Browning-Petter-SIG). The pistol has a double-action trigger, which, unlike models with a “purebred” single-action trigger, gives it the right to participate in competitions in the “serial weapons” class held by the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC – the International Practical Shooting Confederation). The P226 X-Five model is in service with the police and armed forces of many countries around the world. The most widely used pistols are chambered for the 9 mm Luger cartridge. During a tender in the United States for the purchase of a new service pistol, the P226 X-Five model was only slightly inferior to the Beretta 92 pistol.
Straight out of the box
The gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol is supplied in a hard cardboard box. On the sides, in five languages, there are warning inscriptions designed to prevent the possibility of improper handling of the weapon. The instruction manual is written in four languages. All this indicates that a gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol was developed for sale, if not throughout the world, then at least in many European countries.
A gas-cylinder copy of the SIG Sauer P226 X-Five pistol is produced by the Taiwanese company KWC.
The copy with all accessories is supplied in a cardboard box lined with styrofoam. There are various inscriptions on the pistol. In addition to the designation of the model and serial number, the caliber of the weapon is indicated in the window for ejecting spent cartridges, there is a link to the official distributor, a mark in the shape of the letter F in a pentagon (in Germany it is applied to weapons with a muzzle energy of a bullet of 7.5 J and below, located in free sales for persons over 18 years of age - Translator's note) and mandatory warning labels.
According to the manufacturer, 6 mm round bullets are fired with a muzzle energy of 1.25 J. In accordance with German weapons law, air guns with a muzzle energy of more than 0.5 J must be stamped in the shape of the letter F in a pentagon. However, in Germany, persons over 18 years of age do not require a weapons permit to purchase, store and transport weapons.
The gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol has a non-adjustable front sight. In contrast, the rear sight is adjusted using two screws.
In the cardboard box, in a small plastic bag, there is also an Allen wrench designed to pierce the carbon dioxide cylinder. In addition, the delivery set includes a spare screw for fastening the cylinder and an additional bushing with an internal thread installed at the end of the barrel (probably supplied taking into account the fact that as a result of frequent unscrewing and screwing of accessories, the threads of the standard bushing may wear out). A female threaded bushing at the end of the barrel allows you to quickly attach various accessories. They (for example, a red dot sight) can also be mounted on a small base in front of the rear sight. The length of the base is 45 mm and the width is 22 mm. Of course, a collimator sight on a gas pistol firing 6 mm round bullets is installed extremely rarely, but the ideas of true connoisseurs of this type of weapon know no bounds. However, we should not forget that in Germany the use of flashlights and laser designators by private individuals is prohibited by law.
The copy, like the original, has an inclined corrugation in the front part of the shutter on both sides, which can be grabbed to move the shutter to the rearmost position. The P226 X-Five pistol allows you to fire with a pre-cocked hammer.
As expected, the box also contains a package of 100 round bullets of 6 mm caliber. Thus, after purchasing a pistol, you can immediately begin practical shooting, eliminating the need for an additional visit to a specialized store.
The bolt of the P226 X-Five model is installed on the slide stop. The copy's controls are similar to the original and are in the usual places.
The gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol not only resembles the original in appearance, it also evokes similar tactile sensations. The biggest glaring difference is that the replica's cheekpieces are made of plastic rather than wood. It’s a bit of a pity: after all, they are, in the opinion of many shooters, what give the pistol its classic appearance. Plastic cheeks are almost identical in color to wooden cheeks. But still the plastic is somewhat darker. The plastic cheeks retain the rough surface of the original ones, which helps to securely hold the weapon. However, compared to wood, plastic is more conducive to the formation of sweat on the palms. The cheeks are connected to each other at the rear end side of the handle. The manufacturer's logo is applied in this place. There is a notch on the front end of the handle that prevents your hand from slipping. The handle is designed for medium to large sized hands. It will most likely not be suitable for shooters with small hands. Only one thing is reassuring: these shooters are unlikely to opt for a pistol weighing more than 1000 g. Design
The gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol weighs 1140 g, which is 100 g less than the original. Maybe it's just because of the plastic cheeks. To an inexperienced airgun shooter, the weight of this gas pistol may seem prohibitively large. However, in our case the rule applies: in everything as close as possible to the original.
A copy of the P226 X-Five pistol has not only the same dimensions as the original, but almost the same weight. It weighs only 100 g less.
The distributor in Germany, the company German Sport Guns (GSG), is, like the manufacturer Sig Sauer GmbH & Co KG, part of the L&O production group. So he certainly has no problem obtaining the necessary licenses or blueprints for the original pistol.
A gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five model, as is often the case, is produced not in Germany, but at the KWC plant located in Taiwan. It has been specializing in the production of pneumatic replicas of military weapons for many years. KWC is one of the leading manufacturers of copies that are as close as possible to the originals.
The base, located at the lower front of the frame, can accommodate various accessories.
In this regard, in the manufacture of the main parts of weapons, they use not plastic, but only metal. That is why, when taken out of the box, the gas-cylinder replica of the P226 X-Five pistol immediately gives the impression of an original. It also has a center of gravity shifted to the front and provides all the options for additional equipment that a true specialist would expect. Taking into account all of the above, potential buyers include not only air pistol shooters, but also collectors of replica military weapons. The P226 X-Five gas pistol has the same controls as the original. Technical features
It has now become standard to equip air guns with the Hop-up (High Operating Power) system, which is used to twist Diabolo and round plastic bullets, as a result of which the shooter can improve their flight trajectory. The Hop-up system is a rubber band that, using a special protrusion, is pressed through a small hole located at the end of the upper part of the barrel bore. The protrusion allows you to set the optimal gap between the bullet and the protruding surface of the rubber band, which provides twist. With the correct clearance, round plastic bullets have an optimal flight path.
During its existence, the Hop-up system has proven itself well and has received a number of improvements. In particular, a VAC system is installed in the gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol. At the end of the upper part of the barrel bore there is not one, but two small holes, through which a rubber band is pressed using two protrusions. The VAC system is designed to improve the flight trajectory of round plastic bullets. There are two types of I-V system: adjustable and with a preset gap, designed for a certain bullet weight.
To disassemble the P226 X-Five pistol, turn the lever located on the left side of the weapon clockwise 90°.
The gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol presented for testing had an adjustable rear sight. Adjustment is made using a small screwdriver and two screws. To make aiming easier, there is a white dot on the back of the front sight. The pistol has a double-sided safety lever. When turned on, it locks the trigger and bolt. Additionally, the copy sold by GSG is equipped with a safety device to prevent it from being fired when dropped. The trigger has a safety cock, which is located a short distance from the combat cock. In the “safety on” position, the trigger is on the safety cock. At the same time, it acts on the cylinder valve and securely locks it, thereby eliminating the leakage of carbon dioxide.
The hammer can be cocked using the thumb or by moving the bolt to the rearmost position. It is clear that after this, to fire, you just need to pull the trigger. To open fire, it is not necessary to first move the bolt to the rearmost position. It is quite enough to cock the trigger with your thumb.
The pistol has a fairly large trigger guard. The magazine release button is easily accessible with the thumb of the hand gripping the handle.
Most shooters like the Blow-back-Funktion. In gas-cylinder weapons, the energy of compressed carbon dioxide is used for this. During the firing of a shot, part of the gas is spent to impart translational movement to the bullet in the barrel, and part is used to move the bolt. This achieves complete repeatability of the mechanics of military weapons. When the bolt rolls back to its rearmost position, the hammer is cocked. Thus, the pistol can be classified as a semi-automatic weapon. Shop
For gas-cylinder weapons, nothing works without the energy of carbon dioxide from ordinary 12-gram cylinders. The copy of the P226 X-Five pistol has a cylinder in a detachable magazine. This ensures its quick replacement. The magazine also contains 6 mm round bullets. The maximum capacity is 24 bullets. The massive metal magazine has a compartment to accommodate the cylinder and valve. The magazine release button is located on the left side of the handle above the rear lug of the trigger guard. When you press it, the magazine easily falls out of the shaft. To remove an empty cylinder and install a full one, an allen key is required.
The magazine with the carbon dioxide cylinder fits completely into the pistol grip.
The magazine can be easily loaded with bullets using a conventional quick load device, which is well known and widely used by fans of gas-powered weapons. The magazine spring is quite rigid, which at first is somewhat puzzling and causes concern for the safety of the nails. At the same time, we should not forget that, as is known, magazine springs become much softer as a result of prolonged use. In addition, the magazine body has a groove for fixing the feeder in the lowest position. By equipping the magazine with the feeder fixed, you can spare your nails.
General view of the pistol and the removed magazine. They are completely made of steel.
At the shooting range
As test firings have shown, one fully charged cylinder is enough to shoot 50 bullets. Of course, this indicator depends on the gas used, the ambient temperature and the rate of fire. However, in any case, one cylinder ensures the shooting of two magazines. The pistol showed high accuracy. When shooting from a distance of 10 m, the black circle of the pistol target was literally riddled with bullets. Of course, there were also gaps. In the gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol presented for testing, the function of the bolt movement, combined with the large weight of the weapon, almost completely repeated the work of the mechanics of the original model.
DWJ findings
Without any doubt, the gas-cylinder copy of the P226 X-Five pistol, presented for testing by the editors of DWJ magazine and available for free sale in Germany, is not intended for casual buyers, but for real specialists who are ready to purchase a model of a modern, but already classic weapon for the appropriate amount. Those looking for a pistol to shoot in their spare time may find options at more reasonable prices. The gas-cylinder replica of the P226 X-Five pistol and its original have one thing in common: this is a weapon for connoisseurs who expect more from it than usual. But in any case, purchasing the copy described above will not disappoint either amateurs or professionals shooting with air guns. Klaus Ebner Translation by Victor Nazarov

History of the creation of the company SIG (Schweizerische Industrie-Geselschaft)
1853 is the year of foundation. The currently well-known Swiss arms company SIG (Schweizerische Industrie-Geselschaft) was founded in the small town of Neuhausen as a manufacturer and supplier of railway carriages for steam locomotives. The founders were:
- Friedrich Peyer - politician;
- watchmaker Heinrich Moser - owner of a watchmaking workshop;
- Konrad Neyer-Stockar - military man.
1860 - participation and victory in the first tender for the supply of 40 thousand rifles for the Swiss military department. The signing of the contract gave impetus to re-profiling production and focusing on the production of weapons. A serious approach to business, coupled with the famous Swiss quality, enabled the company to occupy its niche among the leaders of the arms world.
SIG becomes one of the market leaders.
1937 - the company decided for the first time in its history to repurchase permission to produce pistols and further work by Schweizerische Industrie-Geselschaft engineers to improve the modification of the pistol.
1948 - after much work and research, the creation of the first pistol of our own production, which was ready for sale. The model received the name - SIG SP 47/8 (codes read as: 47 - year of manufacture of the model, 8 - magazine capacity).
The cost was not entirely low, on the contrary, very expensive, but still the high quality of the pistol did not scare away potential buyers, and on the contrary, this model was already in service in several countries.
1974 - an agreement was signed with JP Sauer und Sohn GmbH for the manufacture of weapons in the Federal Republic of Germany. The purpose of this agreement is that Swiss regulations and laws allow the export of military products in very limited quantities.
Therefore, production was established in Switzerland itself - for the domestic market, and in Germany - for foreign buyers.
The present time - now the SIG Sauer company is a serious player in the arms market, one of the largest manufacturers of firearms. The company's products are supplied to North America, European countries, and Asian countries.
SIG Sauer products are supplied worldwide.
SIG weapons are widely used in the USA and European countries. For example, in the armed forces of Indonesia they are used by marines, in the Republic of Kazakhstan it is the service weapon of military units.
Advantages and disadvantages
The P226 pistol has the following advantages:
- durable body made of reliable materials;
- looks like a combat prototype;
- the safety catch is located on both sides of the weapon;
- the USM design is reliable;
- good parameters of accuracy and accuracy of shots.
However, the model has a number of disadvantages:
- weapons do not tolerate low temperatures well;
- there are few cartridges in the clip;
- when disassembling, it is necessary to remove the rail from the trailer;
- has a low power of shots, unlike modern brands of weapons;
- high price of the model.
Possible tuning
The initial power of the weapon can be increased on your own. This issue can be resolved in several ways. To achieve improved performance characteristics of the weapon, you can resort to improving the quality of sealing of the rammer.
Loss of pressure at the moment of firing is fraught with a decrease in the initial speed of the bullet and a decrease in the declared muzzle power.
To improve the quality of the rammer, one or two grooves should first be prepared on its surface. You can use a drill for this purpose. The tool should operate at low speeds so as not to severely damage the body. After this, any material is installed that can improve sealing. A small rubber ring is ideal. Then the rammer should be well lubricated and the gun will be ready for use.
Modifications
Today, several versions of the analog Sig Sauer are produced, suitable for specific tasks. For example, the P226 DAK has a self-cocking trigger; it does not have a safety release lever. The P226 SAS has smoothed slide-casing corners, making the pistol comfortable to carry. It only has a self-cocking trigger mechanism, and the magazine holds 12 rounds.
The P226 Equinox has a two-tone surface finish on the bolt housing and wooden handle cheeks. The rest of the parameters remained the same.
Disassembly
To disassemble the pistol, you must first remove the magazine by pressing the button on the side of the handle. Then the shutter is moved to the rearmost position. At the same time, the locking lever on the weapon body is lowered. Returning the shutter to its original position and pressing the trigger will result in this element being able to easily detach.
At the next stage, the guide mounted on two springs is dismantled, and the barrel is also removed. In this case, you should initially remove the inside of the barrel and only after that, its body.
When assembling, you must first assemble the barrel and install it in its place. The final stage of assembling the pistol is installing the magazine.
