The tank plays conceptually and gameplay the same way as its predecessor, the T-10. Now this small branch of tanks is very similar to the Chinese, led by the WZ-111 model 5A, and the developers have balanced the Object 277 so that it is worse in every way than the Chinese and it turns out that it is not needed at all. But first things first.

TTX Object 277

According to the tactical and technical characteristics of Ob. 277 serves as a breakthrough vehicle. It has a powerful engine that allows it to take advantageous positions before other heavy units, while at the same time its damage per minute and armor allow it to hold them.

Firepower

All selected vehicles have one thing in common - not the best vertical aiming angles. This makes it impossible for them to effectively play through hillsides using high-pressure weapons and distinguishes them from British and American breakthrough tanks. About. 277 differs from other breakthrough tanks in its gun accuracy and stabilization. This allows you to work on vulnerable areas of enemies, as well as sometimes shoot into the distance.

Ammunition characteristics:

The flight speed of the main projectile, although not a record, still allows it to hit someone else’s light at distances of up to 500 meters, and even reliably up to 300 meters.

It is necessary to fire at a distance of more than 500 meters only as a last resort, since the ammunition load is not the largest - only 35 shells.

The bulk of the ammunition consists of armor-piercing shells . Even when playing on main guns or in absolute outings, it is recommended to carry at least 5-6 of them. Armor-piercing ones allow you to confidently penetrate the side of a vehicle, cause damage through the roller, and keep it on the track, which is especially important in team battles when there is a lot of focus on an immobilized target.

At the same time, cumulative shells will require some skill when targeting vulnerable spots, but these shells are preferable in a head-on firefight. high-explosive shells with you, however, if you don’t want to spend money on premium ammunition, you can take a dozen of them and inflict damage to the forehead with them at least somehow, if you can’t penetrate armor-piercing ones.

It is optimal to carry with you 1 high explosive, 17 armor-piercing and 17 sub-caliber, this will allow you to play both economically and effectively by changing the types of shells.

Vitality

The figures for the frontal armor of the Ob.277 hull are not definitive. As usual, the upper part of the forehead has the greatest thickness, while the lower part is vulnerable. The hull shape of this tank is a cross between the “pike nose” of the IS-7 and the “cast semicircle” of the T110E5.

It is recommended to tank with this corps like a pike, going straight at the enemy head-on.

The sides of the hull are 112 mm thick and are protected by screens, which allows for direct and reverse diamond tanking. However, they need to be turned quite a bit, no more than 20-30 degrees. It should also be remembered that by exposing the NLD and placing the cheek at a right angle, the tank becomes more vulnerable.

The tank's turret is quite strong, and its 290 mm frontal armor can withstand serious calibers. However, there are vulnerable areas here too. Ob.277 can penetrate hatches, which are relatively small in size, as well as cumulative projectiles into the cheeks, where the thickness of the armor is much thinner.

You shouldn’t rely on not getting through; it’s better to play in such a way as not to expose yourself to a shot at all. This machine performs best when playing in the city when it is possible to hide the body.

You can even use a small embankment, an object, a destroyed tank as cover - if the NLD is closed, then the probability of hitting the Ob.277 with a shot is significantly lower. It’s better to play through the tower from good loopholes and piles of garbage on a flat surface, since the tank’s air defenses are weak.

Mobility and reconnaissance

The car has good speed and picks it up easily, goes uphill confidently, and has not the worst cross-country ability on soft soils. The tank rotates well in place, and this will not allow a medium tank to spin around it. However, mobile LT will do this without any problems.

The maximum speed of 55 km/h will allow him to fight both in the ranks of medium tanks and with heavy ones, using various tactics. However, most medium tanks are still ahead of it in movement; the Object 277 does not always have time to finish off the enemy or make a kill.

Thanks to good visibility and dynamics, the vehicle can be used for aggressive pressure, when the enemy is close and will be highlighted for allied tanks.

Bonus to points earned

The Battle of Bloggers 2021 event promises to be incredibly intense, and the winner will only be known at the very end. To ensure the spirit of fair competition and the selection of equal and competitive teams, a special bonus will be added to the points you earn for both personal and team progression. It will become active on the second day of the in-game event and will be applied to players of the team lagging behind in the team ranking.

If you join such a team, the number of points you earn in the next 10 battles of the event will be doubled. The bonus remains even if your team moves from last place, for example, to third, during these 10 battles. The lagging team will be determined automatically.

How the bonus works in different situations

When the server load is high, points may be awarded with a delay.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main advantage of the Ob.277 is that this machine is universal in its own way. He can also perform tasks of illuminating the enemy, when it is necessary to break through to PT positions in the bushes, and stand in position, and rush, falling on the enemy and exchanging HP with him, and shoot at other people’s intelligence from an average distance.

However, this is also its drawback - although it is universal in everything, it is not good at absolutely anything. The same Super Conqueror is more effective in positioning, medium tanks are better at destroying single targets in a group, the armor is quite random, and the gun is not a model of accuracy.

Another disadvantage is the relatively small number of strength points. Thanks to this, he is not able to confidently make exchanges and must protect them to the best of his ability, without exposing himself once again to a shot, especially from large calibers.

Skills

To help you and your team earn more progression points during the event, bloggers can directly influence the course of the fight. To do this, they need to activate skills. There will be 6 skills in total, including a new one - “Fire Shaft” (instead of the previous “Tactical Tricks”).

Inspiration

Team players receive additional points based on the results of the battle.

Risky attack

The team is tasked with scoring a certain number of points in an hour. If successful, the team will receive bonus points.

Fast-paced combat

Team players receive x2 to their personal points for victorious battles lasting less than 4 minutes.

Safety of equipment

Team players receive x2 to their personal points for victorious battles in which no more than 2 units were lost. Allied technology.

Territory control

Fire shaft

The duration of each skill after activation is one hour. Each blogger decides for himself when and what skill to activate. Unlike last year, this can be done twice per day (with the exception of the Risky Attack skill, which can only be activated once per day). Two skills cannot be active at the same time.

Selection of equipment for Object 277

The universal assembly for Object 277 is the following set:

If you do not have booms or captured equipment, then ventilation can be replaced with “Improved Hardening” to increase survivability.

This allows you to improve the tank’s mobility, as well as increase the damage per minute, bringing it closer to average values, and emphasize the main feature of its gun - good stabilization.

Background

Joseph Kotin is one of the most significant personalities in the history of Russian tank building. If the works of Alexander Morozov determined the appearance of Soviet medium and then main tanks, then Kotin is the rightful “father” of heavy armored vehicles.

He was the leading designer of armored vehicles of the KV and IS series, as well as artillery self-propelled guns based on them. He also headed the work on creating a promising heavy tank.

The mass of the new generation armored vehicle should not exceed 55 tons, and the armament would have to be the 130 mm M-65 cannon. Work on the creation of the machine at the Kirov plant design bureau began in 1955.

Kotin's new tank received the index "object 277".

At the same time, other machines were designed in Leningrad: “Object 278” - a modification of “277” with a gas turbine instead of a diesel engine, and a completely original, futuristic-looking “Object 279”.

When creating the main “object,” the designers decided not to create a model from scratch, but to ensure maximum continuity and unification with production vehicles.

As a result, the “277” even retained a significant external resemblance to the T-10.

Crew

As part of Ob. 277 there are four crew members: a commander (also a radio operator), a driver, a gunner, and a loader. The smartest choice would be the following set of tanker skills:

The crew needs combat brotherhood because it is used in conjunction with ventilation. Useful perks for the commander will also be radio interception and eagle eye, for the gunner - sniper, for the driver - off-road king, virtuoso, for the loader - intuition and desperate, but you should study them only after discovering the three main skills.

The tank does not burn too often, so a supplementary ration can be recommended here instead of a fire extinguisher, especially if the owner is accustomed to playing carefully. If you plan to play aggressively, take with you two straps and instructions for fire extinguishing.

How to play Ob.277

Let's look at the final configuration with two equipment options (we took the usual one as an example):

This tank is by no means for poorly prepared players, since it requires both knowledge of maps and the ability to choose a position. Due to weak UVN, it will require a good familiarity with the terrain, small irregularities on city and open maps, and a lot of practice.

A person who has just purchased an account with Ob. 277 , will be disappointed in it at first; understanding the machine comes only with experience.

It accumulates long before the opening of the tank - a similar style of play begins with the IS, KV-1S vehicles, that is, from the middle levels, and the entire branch is kept in approximately the same general spirit, which will allow the player not to have to relearn and develops the skills of an active, but reasonable game .

In battle they do not take the lead. It is necessary to provide this opportunity either to more armored heavy tanks or to mobile medium tanks. At the same time, if medium tanks have problems, they need to be able to support them with armor, and stronger heavy tanks with a gun. When playing in a group, you need to wisely exchange HP, spreading the damage across all tanks, so as not to allow the enemy to minus the guns.

About. 277 is capable of both covering an ally in time and retreating back due to its dynamics in case of danger, while remaining shot.

On open maps you should try to play next to medium tanks, and on urban maps - with heavy tanks. They always try to remember about the possibility of tanking from the side and use it.

One of the distinctive features of Ob. 277 - this is the variability in choosing the point where to apply it in battle. He can be in various places of the collision, actively help his allies, and, if necessary, initiate an attack himself.

At the same time, other TTs do not always do this as well - either the gun is not powerful enough, or the armor will not allow it to deflect a random projectile, or the speed does not allow it to arrive where you wanted. Therefore, for those who are familiar with tactics, know how to look at the mini-map and interact with the team, this tank is especially suitable.

Which is better: IS-7 or Ob.277?

Although these tanks are similar, they offer different gameplay. The IS-7 can confidently stand away from the turret by hiding its hull. Ob.277 cannot do this, that is, there are no absolutely reliable positions for him. It is a more “medium” tank, while the IS-7 is heavier and slower. For an experienced player, Ob.277 will definitely be the best choice, as it will allow him to use his knowledge of cards in any situation and choose the right direction based on the analysis of the setup.

In addition, an accurate gun will allow you to shoot much more. The IS-7 also copes with these tasks, but worse, mainly due to the gun. The Ob.277 gun has main cumulative shells, while the IS has sub-caliber shells. This means that the Ob.277 has a worse gold shot rate when shooting at a distance and is less likely to hit moving targets. At the same time, he is better at close-range shooting due to the fact that cumulative rounds do not ricochet.

When playing purely with armor-piercing guns, the difference between guns and using them close up is erased. Both tanks hit and penetrate the armor of their classmates equally during a close armor-piercing battle. Or they don’t break through, depending on how lucky you are.

However, the IS-7 has a good turret and will be a more interesting tank for a beginner.

It also needs to be said that 277 is smaller than IS in size, therefore it is less vulnerable to hits when rolling from one position to another, so it plays better on open maps.

The Ob.277 is an excellent combat vehicle, which, due to its weapon, allows you to realize the player’s skill, allows him to play “seesaw” and shoot from a “semi-vertical position”. Good dynamics allow him to take the first position and impose his own rules of the game. However, although the tank has armor, it is not a panacea for all ills, and not the highest mobility allows it to be targeted from sniper positions.
