Traumatic pistols, first of all, should be used for self-defense, and only then for recreational or sport shooting. Therefore, you first need to pay attention to certain characteristics of such a weapon, for example, its dimensions and weight. Many weapons companies have tried to release a truly compact traumatic weapon, but the ZVI company, which produces WASP-R, managed to do exactly what was needed. This pistol is based not only on its miniature dimensions, but also on interesting design solutions that have not previously been used in other traumatic weapons.
Description of the pistol
Every designer of traumatic weapons wants to make his new model truly compact and effective. Many samples are being created, most of which are converted from combat pistols, but not a single manufacturer has yet created something like the traumatic pistol from the Czech Republic ZVI Wasp R.
Of all the improvements, the designers only replaced the barrel, using the same 9 mm tube, but at the same time the barrel bore received two bulges to reduce the speed of the bullet.
WASP R cal 9P A uses 9-mm cartridges of limited destruction with a rubber bullet RA, which gives a confident defeat of the aggressor at a direct shot distance. In 2009, the import of the pistol into the territory of the Russian Federation was banned, but the Klimovsky Specialized Cartridge Plant (KSPZ) launched the production of its own model, called the WASP Grom 9 mm P A. The pistol retained all the dimensions and performance characteristics of the original, but its production was completely localized in the country . WASP R Grom is still available for sale today.
DELAYS IN FIRING AND WAYS TO ELIMINATE THEM
The WASP GROM pistol is a modern and reliable pistol, but never forget that even the most reliable weapon is not 100% immune to firing delays. First of all, delays in firing any weapon occur due to contamination of the weapon itself and the use of non-standard or low-quality and/or dirty ammunition. To ensure that the gun lasts a long time, perform regular maintenance in accordance with Section 3 of these instructions.
To avoid delays when firing, always use only high-quality 9 R.A. ammunition.
ATTENTION! Ammunition poses the greatest danger! Since each ammunition contains a powder charge and an initiating charge, handle ammunition with extreme caution! Never disassemble ammunition!
Not always and not all standard 9 R.A. ammunition. are of high quality: sometimes there may be a defective cartridge case, different rolling of its muzzle, defective primer, underweight or overweight of the powder charge, not quite high-quality gunpowder, etc. All these factors can lead to such delays during shooting as sticking of the cartridge when it is fed into the chamber, deformation, swelling and even rupture of the cartridge case, the inability to remove such a cartridge case from the chamber with the ejector, etc.
An underweight powder charge can cause the rubber bullet to get stuck in the barrel. A repeated shot with a bullet stuck in the barrel can completely disable any weapon, including the WASP GROM.
Also, a weapon can fail due to the constant use of expired ammunition: in some cases, the gunpowder in a cartridge can acquire high explosive properties and a shot with such a cartridge can also damage and even destroy the weapon.
To prevent this from happening, always store ammunition in a dry place, do not expose it to low and especially high temperatures, do not place it in aggressive environments and do not use expired ammunition - this is dangerous!
Before loading the pistol, carefully inspect all standard ammunition for it for corrosion or deformation of the cartridge case, corrosion and deformation of the primer, as well as the correct installation of it in the cartridge case, damage to the visible part of the rubber bullet (or damage to the plastic plug on gas and signal types of ammunition 9 R.A.). If the ammunition has the defects described above, do not use it. Pay attention to the rolling of the muzzle of the cartridge case. It should be uniform and provide the cartridge with a nose shape close to an oval. ATTENTION! If there is a delay when firing from the WASP GROM, when eliminating it, make sure that the barrel of the weapon is always pointed in a safe direction! Description of design
The WASP R traumatic pistol was created on the basis of the Kevin ZP-98 pistol, which used 9mm 9x18mm PM ammunition. Or rather, the alterations affected mainly the barrel - otherwise the pistols are identical. The trigger mechanism is single action, firing is carried out only using a self-cocking mechanism.
The pistol does not have any external safety controls - it simply does not exist in the weapon.
Instead, the safety of the carrier is ensured by a fairly tight trigger, which is simply impossible to accidentally squeeze out. There is no external trigger in the weapon; the weapon is completely designed for concealed carry – hence the compact dimensions.
The pistol barrel is only 57 millimeters long, which in theory should not fully realize all the capabilities of the cartridge, but this is exactly what the designer was counting on - the cartridge does not gain sufficient speed and power for penetrating damage at point-blank range, but the cartridge still hits causes severe pain at the point of impact.
The magazine capacity is six or eight rounds, depending on the installed magazine. Many users find the pistol grip too uncomfortable, but you just need to get used to it. Most often, the lack of handle length is eliminated by installing an eight-round magazine, with a characteristic thickening of its lower part. The magazine release button is located on the left side of the pistol, directly behind the trigger guard - it is impossible to press it accidentally.

What are the disadvantages of WASP R ZWI?
Like any mechanism, the WASP Grom 9 mm P A is not without its drawbacks - the main advantage and disadvantage is the size of the pistol. The small dimensions of the handle do not contribute to a confident grip, so the recoil is felt quite strongly. And at the same time, an unreliable grip creates the feeling that the gun is about to fall out of your hand. Yes, this can be partly solved by putting the “heel” on the magazine, but this solves the problem only partly. Well, the second disadvantage can be considered quite expensive ammunition, but this is only in the case of shooting at a shooting range.
What can be concluded?
Compact traumatic pistols are usually recommended as an additional weapon for self-defense, but this is a completely different case. Due to its excellent characteristics and high power, this weapon can be safely recommended as the main option for regular self-defense.
Excellent value for money in this pistol. The price in stores fluctuates around a thousand dollars, the weapon is highly reliable and durable, but, of course, like any other, it has its drawbacks, which are not critical with regular use.
I recommend that you purchase just such a gun if you want to be sure of your safety. Also remember that due to the high power, there is a high probability of inflicting deep wounds on the attacker in the warm season, when a person, as a rule, does not wear much clothing.
