- "Thunderstorm-041". In the design of the pistol, the steel frame is replaced with a polyamide one. Due to this, the weight of the weapon is reduced by 250 grams. EVO technology was introduced for the first time in the production of barrels of this version. This traumatic weapon has a rate of fire of up to forty rounds per minute. “Trauma” is effective at a distance not exceeding seven meters. The price of the weapon is 23 thousand rubles.
- "Thunderstorm-051". This model is an extended version of the previous version. Weapon designers in this traumatic pistol increased the bullet speed to 15%. The model costs 25 thousand rubles.
Design of Thunderstorm pistols
The design of the usm is based on the force of compressed springs, which are located on the rods under the barrel bore. The usm mechanism can only be double-acting. According to the double action type, it is possible to fire a shot with a self-cocking or pre-cocked hammer.
Groza pistols have a fairly simple design mechanism, which allows you to quickly and easily disassemble the weapon.
A design feature of the Groza pistols is the installation of a special bushing behind the part in the chamber, which prevents the firing of a live cartridge, that is, metal bullets cannot be used for firing. Also, the automatic operation mechanism prevents the possibility of sticking the cartridge.
What is the advantage of the new technology?
Unlike V4 and V4.1, the EVO technique has one very significant advantage. It lies in the fact that now barrels for traumatic pistols are equipped with special barriers. Due to this, firing live or other metal cartridges is completely excluded. This barrel barrier is a sleeve for misaligned drilling. It is installed in front of the chamber. This arrangement reduces the load on it, which, in turn, extends its service life. The advantages of EVO barrels include:
- Stable accuracy of fire without any interruptions. The high rate does not depend on the cartridge used.
- The owner of this traumatic pistol gets rid of the need to replace the mainspring when changing the cartridge.
- Its feed and bolt recoil are stable regardless of the power of the ammunition, the energy of which does not have a strong impact on the barrel of the Groza-051 model. Reviews from the owners of this version indicate that this “trauma” is “omnivorous”: the weapon shoots both weak and strong cartridges equally well. EVO technology has improved the performance of weak ammunition, especially those containing soft balls. The Russian manufacturer carefully calibrated the chamber and adapted the magazine to suit the thickness of the 9 mm R.A. cartridge case. Weapon device
The Groza-051 traumatic pistol is equipped with an automatic mechanism that uses recoil when the bolt is blown. The return spring is located under the barrel. With its help, the bolt casing is held in the most forward position. The plastic pistol frame is equipped with a steel base, in which gunsmiths provide special guides necessary for moving the bolt casing. The fastening of the barrel to the pistol frame is made quite rigidly.
The Thunderstorm-051 pistol is equipped with a trigger mechanism, standard for most “traumas,” designed for double action. The hammer is cocked using the safety type. There are two ways to fire a shot: using self-cocking or pre-cocking the hammer.

The Groza-05 pistol, produced by the Russian company, is a modification of the Fort-18R pistol, adapted for the Russian market of self-defense weapons. The automatic operation of the Groza-05 pistol works according to the scheme of using recoil with a free bolt. The bolt-casing is held in the extreme forward position by a return spring located under the barrel. The frame is made of plastic. Other weapon parts are made from weapons-grade steel. The plastic frame has a steel base with guides along which the shutter-casing moves. The barrel is rigidly fixed to the pistol frame. The trigger mechanism is double action, hammer type, with an open arrangement and safety cocking of the hammer. Safety in handling the weapon is ensured by a safety lever, the lever of which is located on the left side of the rear part of the pistol casing. The safety switch is turned off by moving the lever to the lower position, that is, by a natural downward movement of the thumb. Sighting devices consist of a front sight and rear sight, fixed in dovetail-type grooves, with the possibility of making lateral corrections by moving them. The magazine latch is located at the base of the trigger guard, on the left side of the frame. A magazine with a two-row arrangement of 15 rounds, with them rearranged into one row at the exit.
Currently, it is producing a new model of self-defense weapon - this is the Groza-051 pistol with an EVO barrel. The new pistol differs in appearance only by the index in the name; the model designation Groza-051 is indicated on the bolt-casing. The main difference between the Groza-051 pistols and the EVO barrel is the new barrel manufacturing technology and the quality of its processing. The barrels of modern Groza pistols are manufactured using the new EVO technology and are a further development of the v4 / v4.1 barrel type. As a barrier that prevents the firing of a metal bullet, a misaligned drilling bushing is used, installed immediately behind the chamber, which is a distinctive feature of all modern weapons produced by Tekhnoarms CJSC.
Since the appearance of self-defense weapons on the Russian market, EVO barrels have proven themselves to be excellent in terms of accuracy and reliability. The EVO barrel has a number of advantages: stable accuracy characteristics regardless of the cartridge used; no separation from the pile; no need to replace the mainspring when replacing the cartridge used; stable bolt recoil and cartridge feed rates, independent of cartridge power, in other words, omnivorous. The result is increased reliability. The dependence of muzzle energy on the energy of the cartridge is not so strong; with good cartridges, Groza pistols shoot the same as all others; with weak cartridges, Groza pistols shoot better. Shooting results from the EVO barrel have improved in all respects compared to the v4.1 barrel.
The chamber is polished to a shine and strictly calibrated, and the magazines are adapted strictly to the thickness of the cartridge case of the 9mm RA traumatic action cartridge. The 0.4 mm difference in the distance between the jaws of the new and old magazine completely eliminated the possibility of the cartridge sticking into the upper part of the chamber. The manufacturer managed to take into account and quickly correct all the previous shortcomings of the first batches, now Groza pistols work reliably with any cartridges from the box. The accuracy and accuracy of the barrel is again close to the level of previous v4 barrels. Moreover, the EVO barrel significantly improves the performance of weak cartridges, especially those with soft balls.
Fuse design
With the help of a flag-type fuse, safe operation of this weapon is ensured. The safety system is equipped with a special lever necessary to activate it. It is located on the left on the back of the bolt casing. To turn off the fuse, just move the lever down. This design solution had a very positive impact on the efficiency of the Groza-051 model.
