Pistol "Beretta" pneumatic: technical characteristics, reviews and photos

Air guns are primarily used for short-range shooting for sport or recreational purposes. Some people choose pneumatic guns for self-defense. The modern market offers many different options for these weapons.

Air pistols are usually imitations of famous military brands. Beretta is one of them. This is one of the oldest weapons manufacturing companies in the world. For more than five hundred years, the Italian company has been producing weapons that are recognized throughout the world as one of the best and are now used to arm the army and police of many countries. The domestic police are armed with the Makarov MP 654k pistol. It is also worth looking at its “cut” version MP 654K 20.

general information

The 92F nine-caliber Beretta pistol, part of the family of self-loading weapons, replaced the Colt pistol based on the results of a qualifying competition in 1985. It was adopted as standard by the US Army. According to the terms of the contract, the Beretta combat pistol is produced in Italy, as well as in the American branch company in Maryland. Until the end of the last century, the US Army purchased more than a million copies for all branches of its troops at a price of one hundred and seventy-eight dollars apiece.

Today, Beretta pistol models are used by many countries. The armies of many states adopted it. More than one hundred thousand units of this weapon, with various modification characteristics, are produced annually in Italy alone. The Beretta pistol is used today by troops, special forces, and police. It has become one of the most common and recognizable self-loaders in the world. And recently, the civilian arms market has become interested in the various models that the Beretta pistol has in its arsenal, the technical characteristics of which suit many consumers.

Execution

Today, Italian manufacturers supply several versions at once. The Beretta 92 automatic pistol, which uses recoil energy and has a block bolt designed for single fire, works on the same principle as the very first model, released back in 1975. The magazine capacity has now been increased to fifteen rounds. Since they are fed from a double-row magazine, the thickness of this weapon is thirty-seven millimeters. The handle of all models is made of aluminum alloy.

Almost all modifications, with the exception of the 951, have both smooth and tight descents. The Beretta is a standard pistol of the Italian army, like earlier models, equipped with a magazine release button. The fuse is designed as a rotary lever. It is secured under the bolt slide, and the presence of cartridges in the chamber is indicated by an ejector protruding several millimeters.

Design

The Beretta pistol, a photo of which those who are at least a little familiar with weapons will immediately recognize, consists of sixty-five parts.
Its return spring is located under the barrel, which is locked during longitudinal recoil by engaging with the bolt mechanism using a special larva swinging on an axis. The latter is placed below, between the tides. Before firing, the rear part of the larva is raised upward by the back part of the return spring and the frame protrusion resting on it. With its lateral protrusions, it engages with vertical slots located on the inner surfaces of the casing.

Automation

When fired, the bolt and barrel move back a few millimeters. At this moment, the spring-loaded longitudinal rod encounters the frame in the area of the rear tide of the barrel. In this case, the swinging larva, without interacting with the protrusion of the frame, turns and lowers down with its rear part. As a result of the interaction of the rod with the other mechanisms, the barrel disengages and stops. The bolt, continuing its movement, at this moment ejects the cartridge case, then, compressing the return spring, cocks the hammer. Under the influence of the return force, the cartridge is sent into the chamber, where it pushes the barrel. As a result, a rear boss and a spring-loaded rod extend from the frame, releasing the larva. The latter is raised with the help of a protrusion and the end of the return spring resting against it. Its side protrusions fit into vertical slots. As a result, the larva engages with the bolt, which means that you can already pull the trigger and fire a shot from a weapon such as a Beretta pistol.

Pneumatic version

Externally, it is an exact copy of the combat model.
True, we are not talking about an ordinary Beretta, but about a modification of a fire pistol, which is intended for special forces. Therefore, in addition to the weapon itself, it comes complete with a removable silencer of a completely realistic and rather “sinister” appearance and a full-fledged collimator sight. Pneumatics - the Beretta pistol, the photo of which is proof that it was completely copied from the combat firearm version, weighs approximately six hundred and forty grams. This characteristic is also equivalent to the mass of the prototype, since the combat prototype, without loading with cartridges, weighs six hundred and sixty grams. The frame of the pneumatic Beretta and its outer barrel are made of heavy-duty plastic. The bolt of this pistol is made of a metal alloy. The company logo is printed on both sides of the handle.

Disassembling the Beretta 92

Some products can be disassembled quickly, while others will require careful study of the instructions. The general principle is the same: remove the bolt, remove the barrel. The remaining parts remain visible and can be removed as needed.

Beretta Elite II Umarex

Experts recommend cleaning the product after 500 shots, and lubricating the USP after 2000 shots. A standard magazine spring wears out quickly, so it is better to store the product unloaded with the cartridge removed.

Beretta 92 FSAuto

The combat prototype has 65 parts, the pneumatic prototype has about 80, most of which are small. Disassembly should be done in a clean and empty room to make it easier to find small parts.

Beretta 92 KWC

It is extremely difficult to disassemble the fuse, and after removing the clip, two balls roll out.

Beretta M92 FS

The product is very difficult to disassemble due to the presence of many springs inside, which tend to fly apart. It is recommended to stock up on screwdrivers, periodically take photos of the structure at different stages of disassembly, and often look at the floor in search of parts that have popped out.

Umarex Beretta Px4 Storm

The gun is made to last, so there is no need to constantly disassemble it - just to change the oil.

Beretta 92 Gletcher

Disassembly tips are similar to the Beretta 92 FSAuto.

Shooting

The Beretta air pistol fires lead bullets. When fired, they pass along a rifled barrel, which significantly increases the accuracy of the battle. The magazine is a drum-clip made of metal that can hold eight charges. The Beretta pneumatic pistol is equipped with a double-action trigger mechanism. In self-cocking mode, it has a very smooth and soft descent, although it is quite long, the same as in the combat version. The body is entirely made of metal. Another characteristic of this pistol is a movable bolt, which, when moved, opens access to a drum-type magazine.

The open sights of this “pneumatic” are standard, the front sight, as a rule, is not adjustable, and the rear sight has the ability to adjust the horizon and further fix the adjustment made. The "civilian" Beretta pistol has a fairly long sighting line. This characteristic fully contributes to shooting accuracy. In addition, the pistol has the ability to install additional options, such as a flashlight or laser designator. However, the main highlight of this weapon is its collimator sight, which is quite functional, and not a dummy, as it seems at first glance.

Beretta 92 KWC

Beretta 92 KWC air pistol

This model is produced by KWC (France) and competes quite successfully with German analogues. There are some drawbacks here too, but don’t rush to throw stones at the French, because this is a pretty good compromise between price and quality.

Characteristic

We are talking about a copy of the police Beretta, which we have had the honor of seeing in countless Hollywood action films. The characteristics of the model are as follows:

  • caliber - 4.5 mm;
  • magazine capacity — 24;
  • size (gun length) - 220 mm;
  • weight - 1.1 kg;
  • body material - metal, handles - plastic;
  • fuse type - manual;
  • energy source - gas cylinder filled with CO2;
  • bullet speed (initial) - 955 m/s;
  • type of bullets - steel balls;
  • trunk type - smooth;
  • trigger mechanism - Blow-Back (bolt frame is movable);
  • power - average (does not exceed 3 J);
  • sighting devices are not adjustable.

The model is produced by KWC Cybergun (however, the barrels are assembled not in France, but in Taiwan). The cost is about 40-50 dollars. It is possible to equip the model with a collimator sight.

Equipment

Manufacturers do not spoil the client with good equipment. The model is supplied in packaging, a sales receipt and a warranty card are attached to the gun.

When buying pneumatics, you are often faced with a difficult choice. Comparing the Beretta with its competitor, the Walter air pistol, will help you make the right choice. Review and characteristics of the Glatcher TT air pistol in one article. Instructions for disassembling and caring for the pistol.

Device

The Beretta 92 parts fit perfectly. The design provides for:

  • functional bolt stop lever;
  • shutter lock;
  • drop-down magazine;
  • double-sided safety lever;
  • compartment for gas cylinder.

Disassembling and assembling the pistol

According to reviews, disassembling a pistol can cause some inconvenience. The fuse is difficult to disassemble, and in the process of removing the clip, a strange defect is observed - two balls constantly roll out.

A short video review of the Beretta 92 KWC pistol and shooting from it:

Advantages and disadvantages

The undeniable advantages of the model include:

  1. metal alloy;
  2. fully functional safety and latch;
  3. collapsible design;
  4. drop-down store.

Cons of the Beretta 92 KWC:

  1. the muzzle velocity is rather low;
  2. painted surface;
  3. increased gas consumption;
  4. clearly overpriced;
  5. valve problems;
  6. Difficulties during assembly/disassembly.

Umarex Beretta

This pistol will be a great gift for a gun lover. It has a smooth steel barrel. This Beretta air pistol fires 4.5mm steel balls. Many manufacturers produced non-combat versions of models similar to the main model. Most often these were budget modifications of gas-cylinder pneumatics with a fixed bolt. Umarex has released a fully functional Beretta pistol with a full-size magazine and blowback function.

It is also possible to partially disassemble this weapon by separating the bolt from the frame, for which you need to turn the flag located on the right side from a horizontal position downwards. On the right side of the pistol, above the handle, a double-sided safety lever is visible, so the safety box is located on both sides of the pistol.

Pneumatic models of various modifications included in the Beretta 92 series are manufactured by many manufacturers of this type of weapon. The reason is that the firearm version of this famous Italian pistol has gained enormous popularity in the world. The Umarex company produces several pneumatic models of this famous pistol.

Review of Beretta air pistol models

We have chosen relatively inexpensive and popular Beretta models, known to most air rifle enthusiasts. Will be considered:

  • Beretta Elite II Umarex;
  • Beretta 92 KWC;
  • Beretta M-92FS.

We will be interested in everything - from technical characteristics and equipment to cost, type of bullets and nuances regarding assembly/disassembly. The price difference between the presented models ranges from 30-40 dollars. The packaging of some Beretta models includes shooting glasses; other pistols do not have this “accessory” in their packaging.

Modifications

The Beretta Elite II pistol is the most affordable representative of the series. Even at a glance, you can immediately see the recognizable features of the famous “ancestor”. This is an impressively sized window on the casing and a section of the barrel protruding from the bolt.

This pistol has been produced by the company for a long time. It is invariably present in the assortment of many air gun stores. The popularity of this model is contributed not only by its affordable price, but also by numerous positive reviews. Despite such a budget version, this weapon is delivered to the market in beautiful packaging and with good equipment.

In addition to the instructions, it comes with two hundred and fifty steel balls and safety glasses, which you almost always have to buy separately when purchasing any air gun.

"Glacier Beretta"

This manufacturer, like many, has emphasized the maximum compliance of its products with the original version - the world famous Beretta 92. The weight and dimensions of this pneumatic model are also made in full accordance with the combat modification. In addition, the Gletcher BRT92 has a movable bolt frame, which creates an imitation of recoil when firing.

For convenience, this model has a double-action trigger mechanism. This means that the weapon supports both self-cocking and manual cocking firing. The Glacier brand is owned by SMG, a North American air pistol manufacturer. Despite the fact that the products of this company have recently appeared on the Russian market, they have already received recognition from domestic fans.

Model features

Gletcher BRT 92FS has quite good technical indicators for pneumatics. Its power is three joules with an initial bullet speed of 120 m/s and a target range of ten meters. There are two firing modes: automatic and semi-automatic. In total, the magazine holds nineteen 4.5 mm balls. In order to maximize the safety of the shooter and the people around him and to prevent an accidental shot, the company's engineers have developed a double-sided reliable fuse located on both sides. As a result, the pistol is equally suitable for use by both right-handed and left-handed people. A special mount located under the barrel allows you to install on it such simple devices as a flashlight or laser designator.

Beretta Elite II Umarex

Beretta Elite II Umarex Air Pistol

The peculiarity of the Beretta (as well as the Magnum and Walter) is the presence of firearm analogues of the same production. It’s difficult to call Beretta’s products cheap, but here we have the democratic “barrel” of the Elite II. Let's start studying the characteristics.

Characteristic

The production of this 4.5 mm caliber model, as noted, is carried out by the German Umarex. The magazine capacity is designed for 19 bullets. The type of ammunition is steel balls (4.5 BB), and the energy source is 12 gram cylinders containing CO2.

The trigger mechanism is a self-cocking mechanism (double-action), the valve opens by striking the barrel. There is no automatic fuse. The ball flies out of the barrel with an initial speed of 140 m/s. The body is made of shockproof plastic, and the weight of the structure (without equipment) is 0.68 kg.

The estimated cost of the model is 65-70 dollars. Don't be put off by the plastic - the Beretta has nothing in common with cheap Chinese farts.

Power and stopping power depend on the cylinder (as well as on the weather), but in general the Elite II is capable of firing 40-50 confident shots, after which the initial velocity of the ball will begin to drop.

The muzzle energy is below 3 J, so this model is not considered a weapon. The total length of the pistol is 215 mm, the barrel length is 123. The barrel type is smooth. There is a rail that allows you to install a flashlight and a laser designator.

Equipment

The pistol comes in a large box, the sides of which are equipped with marketing icons. The box contains cells for gas cylinders, but you will not find the cylinders themselves. The kit includes:

  • manual;
  • steel balls (no coating) - 250 pieces;
  • shooting glasses (yellow lenses).

Device

The gas cylinder is placed in the pistol handle. Before shooting, the cylinder is pierced by turning a special flywheel. The original controls are part of the housing. The plastic cover moves easily and does not have any locking devices (with the exception of internal latches, which wear out quite quickly).

To the right of the combat clip there is a latch with which the clip is removed. The Beretta's sights are front and rear sights (non-adjustable).

Video review of the Beretta Elite II Umarex pistol, shooting at banks:

Disassembling and assembling the pistol

The pistol must be disassembled and cleaned after every five hundred shots. After 2000 shots, the trigger mechanism needs lubrication. You need to store the pistol unloaded (this way the magazine spring does not deteriorate), having first unscrewed the gas cylinder.

Advantages and disadvantages

Let's start with the advantages that this model has:

  1. decent magazine capacity;
  2. high bullet speed (initial);
  3. convenient operation;
  4. reliable trigger mechanism;
  5. gas efficiency.

You also cannot do without a “fly in the ointment”. Disadvantages of the model:

  1. erasing internal fasteners;
  2. complete tightening of the clamping screw;
  3. barrel mobility with non-adjustable sights.

Noise models

The Beretta signal pistol is made in Japan.
It is considered a collector's item and is of excellent quality. The pistol is made of impact-resistant polymers, some versions have iron added to them, which makes them look very similar to the metal originals - just as heavy and cold. Those parts of the weapon that bear the most load are also made of it. Externally and structurally, the noise models are identical to the original - the Beretta 92. The signal pistol is loaded with cartridge cartridges, which are ejected when fired. A piston is inserted into them, and as a result, when fired, a noise effect is obtained, smoke and flames or sparks come out of the barrel. Cartridge cartridges are sold complete with the signal pistol, and a passport is issued.

Powered by a cylinder

According to the principle of operation, this pistol is part of a pneumatic series in which an autonomous source filled with compressed carbon dioxide is used to fire bullets with a caliber of 4.5 millimeters. This is a twelve-gram CO2 cylinder. The Beretta gas pistol is designed to hit targets during training, training or sports shooting in open areas or in an indoor shooting range.

The principle of its operation is quite simple. Shooting from this gas pistol is carried out by pressing the trigger and is carried out according to the principle of self-cocking - Double Action. The preparation procedure for the Beretta is also simple. To begin with, the weapon must be put on safety. This is a mandatory condition when handling weapons. It must be on the safety until the minute the person is ready to shoot. Then you need to remove the cover from the handle and insert the cylinder, with the wide side down. After this, you need to completely “drown” it and tighten it clockwise with the screw until a puncture is obtained. To make sure that the gas pistol is “charged”, you need to shoot in the direction of the target. But first you need to make sure that the weapon is not equipped with a magazine of ammunition.

If the gun does not fire, then you need to install the cylinder again. You definitely need to make sure that a puncture has occurred. Beretta gas modification does not provide for removing the cylinder from it until it is half empty. Otherwise, the gas will come out of it, and it will be unsuitable for further shooting.

Blow-backs

They have carved out a strong niche in the market for secondary weapons designed for role-playing scenarios in combat conditions, especially at short ranges. That is, the Beretta airsoft pistol, like its analogues, plays the role of a real short-barreled firearm.

Copies of the products of this famous Italian manufacturer are available in spring, gas, CO2 or green gas versions, electric pneumatic, etc. The airsoft "Beretta" exactly copies its firearm prototype in exterior and weight, and some models - the so-called blowbacks - also in the efficiency of the bolt mechanism.

The M9 model has gained the most popularity in Airsoft. It is also called "Beretta 92". The airsoft market boasts a fairly wide variety of versions of these pistols. "Beretta 92" is available in a full metal version with a partially plastic version. There are also versions with or without blowback. Some manufacturers produce airsoft variations in black, chrome versions, as well as with various overlays on the handles and other minor differences.

Today there is a wide selection of Beretta pistols on the market from well-known companies specializing in airsoft weapons. Many people prefer to buy budget models from Cybergun with green gas and a plastic body, others prefer Beretta Airsoft in metal from Gletcher, etc. Original versions from Umarex, etc. are no less common.

In general, as reviews indicate, in airsoft it has already firmly conquered the niche of iconic short-barreled weapons, on a par with Walters, Colt 1911s, Glocks, and Berettas.

M1938

The Beretta submachine gun was produced according to the Tulio Marengoni system and adopted by the Italian army in 1938. During World War II, the Beretta M1938 and its later variations, such as the M1938A or M1938/42, were used by troops in Germany, as well as Romania, and after the end of the war, Argentina and Pakistan. This weapon was distinguished by high tactical and technical characteristics, it was reliable and simple enough to operate. The automatic operation of the Beretta brand submachine gun was based on the recoil principle of a free bolt, the handle of which was located on the right side of the receiver.

The cartridges were fed from straight box magazines adjacent to the bottom, having a capacity of ten, twenty, thirty or forty warheads. The design feature of this weapon was the presence of two triggers at once: the front one for single-shot firing, and the rear one for automatic fire.

The basic model had a milled receiver and a perforated protective casing. The first versions also had a bayonet mount. Although the Beretta submachine gun had good manufacturing and assembly qualities, judging by the reviews, it was not technologically advanced enough. The weapon was produced until 1950. The Beretta M38/42 modification was a simplified version of the submachine gun for wartime use. In this case, the receiver was stamped, and the wooden fore-end and barrel were shortened. The latter, from a length of 315 millimeters, was reduced to 216 mm. In addition, the Beretta submachine gun was deprived of a casing, but acquired radiators made in the form of longitudinal grooves and located on the outer surface.

The shutter release has also been changed. It increased from 88 to 114 mm. This, in turn, led to a decrease in the rate of fire - to four hundred per minute. This model was in production from 1942 to 1945. It was so good that it was adopted by the Wehrmacht under the name Beretta MP.738.

User reviews

Many of those who have used the pneumatic version from the Italian manufacturer believe that there is simply no better choice, especially for targeted shooting combined with the best price. A solid, heavy barrel for “working” with both hands, an excellent safety lock - this is not a complete list of the advantages of this weapon. Many were pleased with the non-hidden trigger. Some users believe that access to the gas cylinder is not so convenient, and there is a need to reduce the front sight. Nevertheless, the vast majority are unanimous in their opinion: holding such a pistol in your hand is an unforgettable feeling.

Of course, this weapon has a lot of advantages that made it so popular. To begin with, experts note the convenient design of this air pistol, which has safety flags on both sides and a large trigger box. It is this shape that allows a person to hold this weapon equally comfortably in his right and left hand. Few people know that the Beretta is considered the most convenient option for the so-called Macedonian shooting, when you have to hold a pistol in each palm. And, of course, one cannot fail to mention the high accuracy when shooting.

It should be noted that against the backdrop of so many advantages, judging by the reviews, the pistol does not have many disadvantages. Many note the somewhat large dimensions of the Beretta, which make it difficult to carry it concealed. In addition, the thickness of the handle is not suitable for people with short fingers.

Regardless of modification, the Beretta traumatic pistol is a very expensive “pleasure,” especially compared to most Russian or foreign models of the same class. Nevertheless, the high strength and aesthetic appeal of the manufacturing material, the reliability of reproducing the fire analogue, as well as good performance in combination with professional processing of parts and assembly against the backdrop of very minor product complaints become very compelling arguments in favor of choosing the Beretta M 92 FS.

In general, the brand has become so popular that for some time now even a souvenir pistol-lighter “Beretta” has been produced, which is an excellent gift for men who are fans of this world-famous brand of weapons.

Beretta M-92FS

Beretta M-92FS air pistol

The pneumatic gas-cylinder model Beretta M 92 FS is produced by the already familiar company Umarex. This is a copy of the combat counterpart used by American soldiers since 1989. Externally, the Beretta is no different from the firearm prototype - the difference lies in its combat characteristics.

Characteristic

The copying accuracy is amazing - especially for those who have held a firearm analogue in their hands. The parameters of the pneumatic model are:

  • caliber - 4.5 mm;
  • production - Umarex;
  • weight - 1.26 kg;
  • length - 210 mm;
  • case material - metal;
  • energy source - 12 gram CO2 cylinder;
  • shot speed (initial) - 120 m/s;
  • The magazine capacity is small - 8 bullets;
  • power - up to 3 J;
  • ammunition - steel balls;
  • trunk - smooth;
  • type of descent - self-cocking;
  • fuse type - manual, flag;
  • the front sight is rigidly fixed, the rear sight is adjustable within the horizontal plane;
  • it is possible to install a collimator sight;
  • price - about 200 dollars.

Equipment

The strengths of the model include its well-thought-out equipment, which pleases with its bounties. The pistol comes with a convenient case in which the Beretta can be stored and carried. Also included in the package:

  • a box of bullets;
  • spare drums (2 pcs);
  • Passport products;
  • rear sight adjustment key.

Device

There are a number of design features that distinguish this Beretta model from its “brothers” in the arms workshop. Steel balls are loaded not into a clip, but into a round drum placed inside the “cartridge compartment”.

Due to its design features, the gas dispenser wears out extremely slowly.

The sights are arranged impeccably - the adjustable rear sight allows you to maintain accuracy and shooting accuracy at a fairly decent level.

Disassembling and assembling the pistol

Many shooters note the difficulty of disassembling this model, as well as its increased contamination. In places of friction, technical Vaseline turns black, and black oil settles on the shutter spring. It is better to shoot with steel balls rather than lead, since lead shavings thoroughly clog the insides of the gun.

In the video you can clearly see the disassembly and assembly of the Beretta M-92FS pistol:

Advantages and disadvantages

Among the advantages of the model are the following:

  1. maintaining destructive power after 60 shots;
  2. stable accuracy of fire;
  3. the clip holds gas for 2-3 months;
  4. no problems at distances of 10-25 meters;
  5. closed design (to last longer, it’s better not to disassemble at all).

Unfortunately, a wagon with a trailed bogie was found to have shortcomings in the FS model. Let's list the main disadvantages:

  1. the barrel delay lever does not work;
  2. the trigger and trigger are silumin;
  3. to squeeze the trigger, you need to apply a certain force;
  4. inconvenience awaits shooters with long fingers and large hands;
  5. the cylinder prestress mechanism quickly grinds in;
  6. expensive (200 bucks is too much).

Final recommendation for beginners: when buying a pistol, do not forget to get additional “accessories” - spare cylinders (Crossman, Gletcher), bullets, cleaning kit, Ballistol oil, holster. Try not to throw your weapon anywhere - it will not accumulate dirt in the holster and will last longer. If desired, you can stock up on additional balloon gaskets.
