Our domestic auto industry is not going through the best times. But he is already getting to his feet and going in the right direction. An example of this is our good old GAZ 3309. This vehicle is a truck manufactured in Russia. It came off the assembly line along with the fourth generation of trucks at the Gorky Automobile Plant. Brake system

If the power cylinder is damaged, the power cylinder must be additionally removed. The GAZ-3309 steering drive consists of longitudinal and transverse steering rods equipped with ball joints. The longitudinal steering rod GAZ-3309 GUR GAZ-3309 (Fig. 6) is adjustable in length and preload in the hinges. By adjusting the length of the rod, the steering mechanism is installed in the middle position with the steering wheels in a straight position. To adjust the length of the longitudinal thrust of the GAZ-3309, it is necessary to perform the following operations: - Check and, if necessary, bring the air pressure in the wheel tires to normal, eliminate possible malfunctions of the chassis (breakage of sheets or uneven sagging of springs, faulty shock absorbers, etc.). — Set the front wheels to a straight-ahead position by rolling the vehicle in a straight line. — Disconnect the longitudinal link from the rotary arm of the GAZ-3309, set the steering mechanism to the middle position by turning the steering shaft from any extreme position three turns and turning it until the marks on the end of the steering gear screw align with rib B of the top cover of the steering mechanism (the mark should be at the bottom ). Check that the steering wheel is correctly installed relative to the steering mechanism. The plane of symmetry of the steering wheel spokes must be parallel to the plane of symmetry of the car (deviation of no more than 5° is allowed). If necessary, restore the position of the steering wheel by moving it. — Loosen nut 14 (see Fig. 6) and adjust the length of the rod by turning rod 7 in or out until the axis of the hinge pin aligns with the axis of the conical hole of the swing arm (the protective cover must be removed). Tighten nut 14 to a torque of 50_62 Nm (5.0-6.2 kg/cm) and put a protective cover on the hinge. — Install the rod, tighten the hinge pin nut to a torque of 110-140 Nm (11.0-14.0 kg/cm) and secure with a cotter pin.

With a correctly adjusted length of the tie rod and a serviceable GAZ-3309 chassis, there should be no deviation (movement) of the steering wheel from the established average position. Adjusting the steering rod joints of GAZ-3309 - Unsplint plug 10 (see Fig. 6) of the rear joint and tighten to a torque of 24-36 Nm (2.4-3.6 kg/cm), and then unscrew 1/12-1 /4 turns and pin the plug. — To adjust the front longitudinal link joint, you need to remove the valve, tighten the 17 cup nut to a torque of 24-36 Nm (2.4-3.6 kg/cm), and then unscrew it 1/12-1/4 turn. — Install pin 18, push the cup with nut 17 inside the tip, install the control valve and assemble the rod. The glass of the tip should move freely in the axial direction by the amount of the working stroke, and the fingers should easily turn on the sphere from the force of the hand. Removing and disassembling the longitudinal steering rod GAZ-3309 - Unscrew the hoses from the power steering valve and remove the clamp securing the hoses to the rod. — Unscrew the nuts 11 (see Fig. 6) securing the ball pins to the bipod and the steering knuckle lever. — Unscrew the nuts securing the ball pins, press the pins out of the bipod and the lever and remove the rod. — Clamp the rod in a vice, unscrew the screws securing the protective couplings and remove couplings 1 and 8. — Unscrew and unscrew the two nuts and two bolts 3 of the control valve. — Unscrew and unscrew the nut of the central bolt of the control valve and remove the valve. — Moving the finger towards the valve, remove pin 18 of the cup nut and unscrew nut 17. — Remove the limiter, spring, block, pin, other block and cup from the tip of the front linkage joint. — Unscrew and unscrew the plug from the opposite end of the rod and disassemble. Assemble the rod in the reverse order of disassembly. Dismantling and assembling the GAZ-3309 tie rod - Unscrew the nuts securing the tie rod pins in the steering linkage arms and the power cylinder rod nut. — Unscrew the nuts securing the pins and the rod. — Remove the rod washer and rod cushion from the rod. — Remove the fingers from the holes in the levers and move the tie rod along the power cylinder until the rod exits the hole in the power cylinder mounting bracket on the tie rod. — Clamp the tie rod in a vice (the end cap should be at the top). — Lightly press the lid inward to loosen the locking ring. — Use thin pliers to remove the retaining ring. — Disassemble the hinge — If necessary, press the liner out of the tip and replace it. Assemble and install the GAZ-3309 transverse steering rod in the reverse order. Before assembly, lubricate the working surfaces of the pins, bearings, crackers and support feet with a thin layer of lubricant. After installing the linkage on the vehicle, the ends must be lubricated through grease nipples until the grease comes out of the limit washers. Disassembling and assembling the GAZ-3309 steering valve To disassemble the valve, you must do the following: - Unscrew the screw securing the adapter and remove the adapter. — Remove the cuff support washers, cuffs and spool. — If necessary, press out the seats and press in new ones. — The control valve is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly.
