And it should be made in Japan and cost no more than $70. They will probably tell you that this is hardly possible, since one advantage can, on the contrary, reduce other characteristics. And even if you combine all the advantages, the model will turn out to be very expensive.

However, we can say that such a pistol exists. This is the Daisy Powerline 5501 model. This convenient and beautiful pistol is manufactured in Japan by order of the Daisy company and contains many innovations, since several patents are used in the manufacture of the model. The Daisy 5501 model is equipped with a blowback function, and costs only about $70 in online stores.

The pistol has a popular combination of materials that is even used in military weapons. This is a plastic frame and a metal shutter. To remove the magazine, use a triangular button at the base of the trigger guard. The magazine is slightly spring-loaded, so when you press the button, it quickly pops out of the handle. To safely load ammunition, a small plug is included that fits onto the top of the magazine. Since the magazine latch is plastic, for long service, when installing the clip back, it is recommended to also press the magazine release button.

To install the gas cartridge, you need to remove the plastic cover on the left side of the handle. The initial speed of the Daisy 5501 bullet is 130 m/sec. and as you fire, the power of the shot does not drop sharply, it remains at approximately the same level, and decreases only when the gas in the cylinder runs out. This metering valve mechanism is also one of the innovations of this interesting pistol. Since the pistol has a blowback function, the bolt moves when firing and, despite its compact size, good recoil is felt, especially when shooting with one hand.

The Daisy 5501 air pistol, although it does not have a rifled barrel, has good accuracy, so from a short distance, at a level of 5 meters, you can accurately shoot at paper sports targets. Moreover, the pistol is well suited for recreational shooting at various objects at a distance of up to 15 meters. In addition, the shutter movement function adds additional drive to shooting. The pistol uses gas quite economically, and even though part of the gas is spent on moving the bolt, one cylinder is enough for 100-120 shots. At the 8th clip, the blowback function stops working, and the rest of the magazine can be shot by manually cocking the bolt.

Possible upgrade (rework)

The fundamental difference between this pistol and domestic models is the difficulty of effectively improving its operation. Much more popular is the external tuning of the model, which consists of installing a “false barrel” muffler. It is difficult to achieve a real reduction in the sound of a shot due to the distinct operation of the automation, but the appearance of the pistol becomes more solid.

Independent attempts to change anything in the mechanism are fraught with deterioration in its performance. If you still need to increase the power of the shot, it is better to contact a workshop. To increase power, the following modifications are made:

lengthening the barrel, increasing the acceleration time of the ball by gas flow. A long barrel improves accuracy, which invariably decreases as shot speed increases. A new barrel for the pistol will have to be purchased separately;
strengthening the mainspring and sharpening the clutch - increases the amount of gas emanating from the chamber when fired;
enlarging the air chamber by boring is fraught with a significant deterioration in the characteristics of the gun, but most effectively increases power. It is quite difficult to find a master who would agree to carry out such a radical upgrade of this model.

The pistol was initially designed for use “as is” - in a boxed version that does not require additional configuration. The more changes are made to the gun, the higher the chances of ruining its initial characteristics.
