The base of the “pneumatic” was the legendary “Kedr” submachine gun by the Soviet gunsmith E. Dragunov. The goal pursued by the designer was to create a small-sized submachine gun for close combat. The weapon was created for Russian special forces.

Weapons decommissioned, emasculated model “PP-91-SKh” are intended for use for cultural and educational purposes and educational activities, as well as for participation in historical reconstructions, etc.

To simulate firing from the product, a 10TK caliber light and sound cartridge is used. Reloading of the product is carried out by using the energy of powder gases, repeating as much as possible the operation of a military weapon. Shot simulation is carried out only in automatic mode.

The Kedr PP-91-SKh submachine gun, emasculated by the , is a modification based on real military weapons that fires flash-noise cartridges. “Cedar” is an abbreviation, the full name of such a weapon is Design by Evgeniy Dragunov. The author of the development was the talented Soviet designer E.F. Dragunov; in 1992, the first prototype of the weapon was created. Since 1993, Cedar began to be mass-produced. Initially, the pistol was designed for the 9x18 PP cartridge, but after some time it was modified to accept standard 9x19 mm ammunition.

The advantages of Cedar include compactness, the ability to be carried concealed, excellent accuracy and precision of fire, as well as high stability due to the folding stock. The Kedr PP is also popular among professionals; this weapon is in service with most Russian law enforcement agencies.

The deactivated Kedr PP-91 submachine gun is designed to fire flash-noise cartridges of standard 10TK , and is capable of operating in two modes - automatic and single-shot. Like the combat prototype, the weapon has a folding stock. The magazine capacity of the original combat modification is 20-30 rounds; in the cooled model, 10 rounds are placed in the magazine. Reloading occurs using the energy of powder gases.

The appearance of this submachine gun has no noticeable differences from its combat counterpart. It is made of weapon steel, the handle is made of plastic with shock-resistant properties. The process of disassembling and assembling a blank weapon is similar to a combat one: first the receiver cover is removed, then the return spring and bolt are removed, then the firing mode switch is removed, and finally the trigger is removed.

Kedr PP-91 submachine gun was carried out at the Molot-Arms plant, for this purpose the following changes were made to the design:

• a sleeve is welded into the barrel cavity;
• welded pins for barrel removal;
• chamber caliber changed;
• the receiver received a mate;
• a weld seam appeared on the shutter;
• The trigger has been modified to allow automatic fire.

The cooled “Kedr” PP-91 is suitable for learning the process of disassembling and assembling weapons, and can also become a worthy exhibit of a weapons collection.
