Today I would like to highlight a hobby that is enjoyed by millions of people around the world. This is a paper model. Probably someone you know is or has been involved in modeling - aircraft/ship modeling, wood modeling, assembling plastic models (tanks, airplanes), etc. In a word, it’s an interesting business, and the results of successful work are even more pleasing, and exceptionally pleasing to your guests. But if almost everyone knows about the above, then not many people even know about the craftsmen who assemble voluminous and beautiful models from paper. It’s true that you’ll hardly find a material more accessible and easier to process than paper. Another obvious advantage of this direction is that each process of creating a model can be carried out at home, because No special tools/machines are required here.

) - AK-74 modernized. It is equipped with a polymer stock that folds on the left side and a universal mount (dovetail strap) for attaching sights, both optical and night, on the left side of the receiver. Thus, the AK-74M replaced four models at once: AK-74, AKS-74, AK-74N and AKS-74N.AK-74M with underbarrel grenade launcher GP-25()
The handguard and the gas tube receiver lining are made of impact-resistant glass-filled thermoset plastic AG-4V. Metal parts are also protected from corrosion by a special coating. The changes also affected the muzzle brake, which received open chambers, which allows it to be cleaned without removing it.
To reduce the likelihood of mechanical damage to the receiver cover, its fastening was strengthened. A lock has been added to the design of the return spring guide rod, which allows firing from the GP-25 or GP-30 under-barrel grenade launcher without the use of additional fastening of the receiver cover, which is necessary in such cases for the AK-74.
With the new assault rifles it is possible to use the PK-A and PK-01 collimator sights, as well as COBRA and 1P78. In 1991, the AK-74M was put into service and its serial production began at the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant. Currently mass-produced by the Kalashnikov concern
AK-74M3 is an exhibition model created for display at MAKS-2011 as part of the “Ratnik” combat equipment. It was a slightly modified version of the AK-74. However, there was a problem with the name of the new model: traditionally, modernized assault rifles are coded with the letter “M” (for example, AK-AKM), but the AK-74M assault rifle already existed. Then, without further ado, the weapon was given the postfix “MZ”. There is no official decoding of this abbreviation. Changes include mounting the receiver cover on a hinge, Picatinny rails on the forend and receiver cover, on which a laser pointer, a collimator sight, and a night sight attachment can be installed. The GP-34 underbarrel grenade launcher is used. It was assumed that data from the machine gun to the helmet’s monocular would be transmitted either via Bluetooth or via wires.

What do the colors of the Russian flag mean? interpretation version
How to make a sword with your own hands: ideas
The meaning of the colors of the Russian flag can be deciphered in different ways. One can distinguish a variation of the tsarist period:
- White – free-thinking.
- Blue – trust.
- Scarlet is a power.
The second interpretation has a different meaning: the Tsar, God and Fatherland are one.
Russian flag with coat of arms
The third designation states that coloring shades in a certain order indicates unity: Faith + Hope + Love (blue + snow-white + scarlet).
People who like Slavic culture interpret the image as follows:
- The red stripe is the kingdom of the underground inhabitants.
- Blue shade - living people.
- White tone - celestial beings.
Considering the colors that the national state symbol has, it is worth noting that their combination is characterized by a mixture of dynamism with upward striving, from movement to spiritual impulses.
AK-74M
By the end of the 80s, experience in operating 5.45 mm AK-74 assault rifles of all modifications revealed the need to take measures aimed at improving a number of service and operational characteristics, such as the strength of the receiver, receiver cover, metal butt, which, in addition However, it caused unpleasant sensations when shooting in conditions of high and low temperatures. Also, along with the adoption of a cartridge with a bullet of increased penetration (PP ind. 7N10), the barrel life sharply decreased when firing the new ammunition. The experience of using the 5.45-mm Kalashnikov assault rifle in the army revealed the advisability of making some design changes to it and replacing two models of the AK-74 and AKS-74 with a single model. Testing of the new assault rifle was carried out on the A-60 and A-61 prototypes and ended with the creation of the basic 5.45 mm AK-74M (6P34) assault rifle.
One of the main innovations of the AK-74M is the installation of a folding plastic stock. When you press the locking assembly latch, the butt folds to the right. At the same time, the total length of the machine corresponds to the dimensions of the AKS-74. In addition to the butt, the fore-end and receiver lining are made of plastic. Thanks to the use of the new material, resistance to abrasion and impact loads has been increased, the danger of chipping and splitting has been eliminated, hand burns during prolonged shooting are eliminated, since the heat transfer coefficient of the plastic used is not higher than that of wood, and the ability to use the butt in hand-to-hand combat is preserved.
The design of the muzzle brake-compensator has been changed, which is equipped with open windows that allow cleaning separately from the barrel. The “sway” of the muzzle brake was eliminated by increasing the seating area. The receiver cover is reinforced. This reduced the likelihood of it being damaged by blows, especially in hand-to-hand combat. More reliable fixation of the receiver cover allows firing from an under-barrel grenade launcher without installing additional fasteners. The AK-74M is equipped with a standard mounting unit (bar) for optical and night sights. It was the impossibility of using any optics on each machine that was criticized by American experts. The machine gun is equipped with a new unilluminated night sight 1PN51 and a new optical sight 1P29. Its weight with a loaded magazine is 3.4 kg. Length with bayonet - 1100 mm, without bayonet - 943 mm, with stock folded - 700 mm. Barrel length - 415 mm. The initial bullet speed is 900 m/s. Rate of fire - 900 rounds/min. Rate of fire - 40–100 rds/min. Sighting range - 1000 m. Magazine capacity - 30 or 45 rounds. Fire mode - single and continuous. According to representatives of the Izhevsk Production Association, where the chief designer of the product M. T. Kalashnikov works, and the commissions that took part in testing the AK-74M at various stages of its verification, in combination with the new 5.45 mm cartridge, it has no analogues in the world in terms of many indicators.
AK-47 today
The successful operation of the AK-47 in the Soviet Union led to the fact that the Soviet leadership decided to transfer the production of the machine gun on a licensed basis to the allied countries. The license was received by the GDR, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, North Korea and Vietnam. In the mid-50s, the license was sold to communist China, which, after the USSR, is the largest producer of Kalashnikov assault rifles.
In addition to licensed production, Kalashnikov’s brainchild was produced illegally in African countries, Asia, and Latin and South America.
It is not possible to officially record the countries in which the Soviet assault rifle is produced. The license for legal production has long expired, but weapons continue to be produced privately. In addition, a huge number of industrial copies of the Soviet machine gun have appeared in the world. Today, all over the world there are up to 100 million different modifications of AK on hand and in arsenals.
About historical inaccuracies
Anatoly Muravlev, journalist, writer:
— It’s nice that the main character in the film mentions Altai many times. Yes, Kalashnikov loved his homeland very much. Although he was in the Altai region seven times after exile, and his mother had not lived here since 1930. Therefore, when at the end of the film he is sent to his mother in Altai, this is, of course, the director’s invention.
There are also chronological flaws. For example, that in 1947 the Kalashnikov assault rifle (although it was then called a submachine gun) was ready and won the all-Union competition. And until 1949, when it was put into service, it was intensively refined. I was surprised that during the war, Kalashnikov walked around Moscow with weapons. This is completely unrealistic. He was always accompanied by a representative of the secret service or a military man, because the new weapon is a great secret. He definitely couldn’t walk around the capital openly with a sample of a new weapon.

A fight between Mikhail Timofeevich and the NKVD major accompanying him to Moscow was also invented. A conflict with an officer involving the use of weapons and shooting during the war years means a court martial and execution. Yes, the majors did not accompany them; they were mostly sergeants.
There was a plot in the film when Kalashnikov meets his brother Victor, who is transported in a carriage as a prisoner. Although in reality the older brother was freed before the war.
It was amazing that in the tiny locomotive depot of the Matai station in Kazakhstan, where the designer made the first submachine gun, there were so many men. There is a war going on, there should be mostly women there! The film also shows that allegedly General Degtyarev, a designer of small arms, called Kalashnikov to his place and personally told him that he was withdrawing his weapon model from the competition.

In his memoirs, Mikhail Timofeevich wrote that he never crossed paths with him during his time working at the design bureau in Kovrov. After all, Vasily Degtyarev was a general, and he was a simple sergeant. But Degtyarev actually withdrew his weapon from the competition. This is common practice. Apparently, during testing at the training ground, he realized that his sample would not be able to win. Kalashnikov actually reached the final of the All-Union arms competition in 1947 together with the designers Bulkin and Dementiev. In the film, their samples allegedly misfired, but those of the Altai gunsmith passed all tests.

But to be honest, none of them won. The commission rejected all three samples, sending them for revision. After some time, the leadership allowed only Kalashnikov to finish what he started. At the end, the credits indicated that 200 million modifications of the Kalashnikov assault rifle were produced. I have never seen such a figure anywhere; they usually talk about 100 million copies.
But overall the impressions of the film are very good. It’s especially gratifying how warmly the hero speaks about Altai.

Prerequisites for creating legendary weapons
Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov entered the cohort of world-famous gunsmiths powerfully and immediately. Kalashnikov grew up and became a designer of small arms during the difficult war years. However, it was precisely this historical period that became for M.T. Kalashnikov is unique, creating real opportunities for work in the arms industry.
At the Technical Council under the USSR People's Commissariat of Defense held in mid-1943, the idea of creating a new type of automatic rifle in the Soviet Union was discussed. The prototype was taken from a captured German automatic carbine Mkb.42, which fired an intermediate cartridge of 7.92x33 caliber. Soviet gunsmiths had to create a new automatic rifle system chambered for an intermediate cartridge that could replace the submachine guns of the Shpagin and Sudaev systems that were in service with the Soviet Army.
The new weapon had high requirements: firing with an intermediate cartridge, effective range of effective fire - at least 400 meters, high rate of fire and low weight. The main aspect that attention was paid to was the creation of an effective and powerful ammunition. The new cartridge was supposed to be more powerful than pistol cartridges that were fired by Soviet pistols - PPSh and PPD machine guns, and not inferior in power to rifle and machine-gun ammunition.
The appearance of a new automatic rifle of a successful design could completely replace the entire range of personal small arms available in the arsenal of the Soviet armed forces.
There was no delay in creating a new intermediate cartridge. Already at the end of 1943, OKB-44 prepared a drawing of a new 7.62 mm cartridge, developed by Elizarov and Semin. New automatic small arms were created for it. The new cartridge was already put into mass production in March 1944 and was initially caliber 7.62x41. Subsequently, due to the requirements for the compactness of a small arms magazine, the caliber of the cartridge was changed. Soviet gunsmiths who participated in the competition to create an automatic rifle already relied on a 7.62x39 caliber cartridge. The bullet had a pointed, conical shape, which ensured stability during flight.

Paper modeling

And the paper modeling itself is also different. Various types of origami also fall under this direction, and this is already a whole warehouse of directions. In this article I would like to show volumetric (3D, 3D) modeling from paper. I still doubt the correctness of the formulation of this direction, but oh well. In general, you will see and understand everything.
Models vary in size and complexity. The main factor here is the number of sheets of drawings in A4. What you need to start with is paper (you can use “snow maiden”, sometimes you need something thicker - cardboard), scissors, a ruler (preferably two), pencil, glue (different ones are suitable, but the PVA moment turned out to be more familiar to me). Perhaps that's all. We search the Internet for “download paper models” sites, download the models, print and get to work. For starters, I would recommend the Canon Creative Park website. There, the models are presented with clear instructions “for dummies” and other beginners. Actually, this is where I started, here are a couple of my endeavors:
My beast
How to make an AK-47 out of paper?
Over time, as a seasoned hardball player, I had dreams of putting together something hardball. Those who have completed hard games and Counter-Strike don’t have much doubt about their choice - you need to collect some kind of Kalashnikov. The choice fell on the AKM model from some Paper Manufacturing.
In general, that's all, from the expenses - 18 sheets of A4 thick paper, I took a liter of PVA (there is still a lot left), and a month of sitting in the evenings. Actually, if I had collected it more often, it would have taken less time, and the model itself would have turned out better. But what happened, happened.
I’m posting my three-dimensional model of the AKM, don’t judge strictly.
Model features
Standard features include a removable magazine, a removable receiver cover, a removable bolt, a removable cleaning rod, and a moving sighting bar.
At the same time, we have an original scale, and a good external resemblance - at night you can rob the stalls. Well, I was joking by the way.
In a word, it's a pretty funny toy. True shooting enthusiasts will appreciate it. And for staged filming, you can arm entire crowds of people at low cost... dreams, dreams.
Recently a second version of the same model from PM appeared. This time everything is more detailed, and most importantly more interesting.

At the end I post the drawings of the model themselves. There are no instructions, it is assembled intuitively, there are photos of finished parts. We look at the parts and assemble them in the same order. We rejoice.

True shooting enthusiasts will appreciate it. And for staged filming, it is allowed to arm, at low cost, whole hordes of people... desires, desires. Over the course of about 70 years, the USSR and Russia developed several dozen modifications, prototypes and concepts of the most famous small arms in the world - the Kalashnikov assault rifle. The universal basis allows you to design “guns” for virtually every taste: folding, shortened, with a bayonet, optics or an under-barrel grenade launcher, for special services or individual branches of the military. In this material we will tell you how to learn to distinguish between the main AK models and what their unique features are.
The typical, very first AK-47 adopted for service is difficult to confuse with anything. Made of iron and wood, without any bells and whistles, it has long become a symbol of safety and ease of use in all conditions. However, it didn’t take long for the machine gun to become like this: it took Mikhail Kalashnikov several years to bring his creation to fruition. In 1946, the military authorities of the USSR announced a competition to create an assault rifle chambered for an intermediate (in terms of destructive power - between a pistol and a rifle) cartridge. The new weapon had to be maneuverable, quick-firing, and have good bullet lethality and shooting accuracy. The competition took place in several stages and was extended more than once because none of the gunsmiths could give the required result. In particular, the commission sent AK-46 models No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 (with a folding metal stock) for revision. The improved Kalashnikov assault rifle, which was assigned the index AK-47, as Sergei Monetchikov writes in the book “The History of the Russian Automatic Machine,” was virtually completely redesigned. The best ideas were borrowed from the designs of rival weapons, implemented in individual parts and entire assemblies.
The machine gun did not have a classic solid stock. Taking into account the strong receiver, the separate wooden stock and fore-end assisted in holding the weapon during shooting. The design of the receiver was redesigned; it was firmly different from the previous ones with a special liner rigidly attached to it, connecting it to the barrel. In particular, a reflector of spent cartridges was attached to the insert.
The reloading handle, integral with the bolt frame, was moved to the right side. Test soldiers demanded this; they noted: the left-sided position of the handle interferes with shooting while moving without stopping, touching the stomach. In the same location it is inconvenient to reload the weapon. The transfer of controls to the right side of the receiver made it possible to create a successful fire switch (from single to mechanical), which is also a fuse, made in the form of a solid rotary part.
The huge mass of the bolt frame and a strong return spring ensured the correct operation of the mechanisms, including in unfavorable conditions: dusty, clogged, and thickened lubricant. The weapon turned out to be adapted for trouble-free operation in the range of air temperature changes up to 100 degrees Celsius. The wooden parts of the new weapon - the butt, fore-end and receiver grip, as well as the pistol grip, made from birch blanks - were coated with three layers of varnish, which ensured they were fairly resistant to swelling in damp conditions.
AK-74
In the 1960s, the Soviet military authorities decided to develop small arms chambered for the low-pulse 5.45 mm cartridge. The fact is that the AKM failed to achieve high accuracy of fire. The reason was that the cartridge was too strong, the one that gave a powerful push.
In addition, as Monetchikov writes, military trophies from South Vietnam also ended up in the hands of Soviet military experts - overseas AR-15 rifles, the mechanical version of which was later adopted by the US Army under the designation M-16. At that time, the AKM was inferior in many respects to the AR-15, in particular in terms of combat accuracy and hit probability.
“In terms of the complexity of development and the search for approaches, the design of an assault rifle chambered for the 5.45-mm caliber can probably only be compared with the birth of the AK-47, the father of every family in our system. At first, when we decided to take the AKM automation scheme as a basis, one of the factory bosses expressed the idea that there was no need to look for something here and invent something, they say, a simple re-barrel would be enough. “I marveled in my soul at the naivety of such an opinion,” Mikhail Kalashnikov recalled about that period. — Finally, changing a barrel of a larger caliber to a smaller one is not difficult. Then, by the way, it’s vulgar to say that we just changed the number “47” to “74” for everyone. The core specificity of the new machine gun was a two-chamber muzzle brake, one that absorbed approximately half of the recoil energy when firing. A rail for night sights was mounted on the left side of the receiver. The new rubber-metal design of the butt butt with transverse grooves reduced its sliding along the shoulder when conducting aimed shooting. The forend and stock were initially made of wood, but in the 1980s they switched to black plastic. The external specificity of the butt were grooves on both sides; they were made to simplify the overall weight of the machine gun. Shops were also made from plastic.
AKM and AKMS
The modernized Kalashnikov assault rifle (AKM) was adopted 10 years later than the AK-47 - in 1959. It turned out to be more lightweight, long-range and comfortable to use.
“We, and only the main client, were not satisfied with the accuracy when shooting from stable positions, lying down from a rest, standing from a rest. A solution was discovered by introducing a trigger retarder, which increased the inter-cycle time, Kalashnikov wrote in the book “Notes of a Weapon Designer.” “Later, a muzzle compensator was developed, which made it possible to improve the accuracy of combat during mechanical shooting from unstable positions, standing, kneeling, lying down from the hand.”
The retarder allowed the bolt frame to stabilize in the extreme forward position before the next shot, which affected the accuracy of fire. The muzzle compensator in the form of a petal was installed on the barrel thread, and was one of the obvious distinctive signs of the AKM. Due to the compensator, the trunk cut was not vertical, but diagonal. By the way, it was allowed to attach mufflers to the same thread. Improving the accuracy of fire made it possible to increase its sighting range to 1000 meters, as a result, the aiming bar also changed, the range scale consisted of numbers from 1 to 10 (on the AK-47 - up to 8). The butt was raised upward, which brought the resting point closer to the firing line. The external shape of the wooden forend has changed. On the sides it received rests for the fingers. The phosphate-varnish coating, which replaced the oxide coating, increased the anti-corrosion resistance tenfold. Monetchikov notes that the store, made not from steel sheets, but from light alloys, has also undergone radical changes. To increase safety and protect against deformation, the side walls of its body were reinforced with stiffeners. The design of the bayonet-knife, attached under the barrel, was also new. A sheath with a rubber tip for electrical insulation allowed the knife to be used for cutting through barbed wire and live wires. The combat power of the AKM was greatly increased due to the possibility of installing the GP-25 Koster under-barrel grenade launcher. Like its predecessor, the AKM was also developed in a folding version with the letter “C” in the name.
Modernized Kalashnikov assault rifle (AKM)
In 1959, new modernized assault rifles began to be produced to replace the AK 47. The number of innovations was so significant that it made it possible to talk not about another modification, but about the creation of a new model of the machine gun. The AKM even differs in appearance from the AK 47. The barrel of the machine gun was equipped with a muzzle compensator, and the surface of the magazine was ribbed. The butt of the machine gun was installed at a smaller angle.
Many design innovations in the AKM were borrowed from the best world and Soviet models of those years. For example, the firing pin and trigger are completely copied from the Czech Holek rifle, the safety lever in the shape of the bolt window cover is from Remington 8. Much was borrowed from the Soviet AC 44 assault rifle.
About painting work
In addition to the question of how to make an AK-47 from wood, many are also interested in what paint is best to coat the finished product. Experts advise that a dummy Kalashnikov assault rifle will look very realistic if you apply oak-colored paint to it.
It is made on a water basis. The dummy painted black also looks good. Some craftsmen also coat their products with varnish on top of the nitro paint.

Do-it-yourself wooden rubber band gun AK47 (15 photos)
The mechanism is quite simple and reliable; this time everything was done without the use of CNC, on a ribbon. There are no rare materials, like skin from a dragon's butt.
Be sure to watch the video of the work:
This time the drawing is not mine, but my colleague in this hobby from Hungary. I specialize more in pistols, but I couldn’t get past the AK. At the end of the post I will give a link to the drawings and description in PDF. There is also a sheet of materials and tools. I recommend it to all grandfathers and fathers as a super gift for children, cooler than any nerfs.
Unfortunately, I started documenting it late, so there weren’t enough photos and the working part was on my phone. We print out the patterns, cut them out and glue them onto plywood with double-sided tape. We cut the blanks according to the patterns and glue them together.
The procedure for assembling a Kalashnikov assault rifle after incomplete disassembly
- Attach the gas tube to the barrel lining
. Holding the machine gun with your left hand, push the front end of the gas tube onto the gas chamber pipe with your right hand and firmly press the rear end of the receiver lining to the barrel; Using the accessory case, turn the contactor toward you until its lock enters the recess on the sight block. - Attach the bolt to the bolt frame
. Take the bolt frame in your left hand, and the bolt in your right hand and insert its cylindrical part into the frame channel; turn the bolt so that its leading protrusion fits into the figured cutout of the bolt frame, and push the bolt forward. - Attach the bolt frame with the bolt to the receiver
. Take the bolt carrier in your right hand so that the bolt is held in the forward position with your thumb. With your left hand, grab the neck of the butt, with your right hand, insert the gas piston into the cavity of the sight block and push the bolt frame forward so that the bends of the receiver fit into the grooves of the bolt frame, press it with a slight force to the receiver and push it forward. - Attach the return mechanism
. With your right hand, insert the return mechanism into the bolt frame channel; compressing the return spring, move the guide rod forward and, lowering it slightly downwards, insert its heel into the longitudinal groove of the receiver. - Attach the receiver cover
. Insert the front end of the receiver cover into the semicircular cutout on the sight block; press the rear end of the cover with the palm of your right hand forward and downward so that the protrusion of the guide rod of the return mechanism enters the hole in the receiver cover. - Release the trigger and put the safety on
. Pull the trigger and raise the translator up to full stop. - Attach the muzzle brake-compensator
. Screw the muzzle brake-compensator onto the threaded protrusion of the front sight base until it stops. If the groove of the muzzle brake-compensator does not coincide with the latch, it is necessary to unscrew the muzzle brake-compensator (no more than one turn) until the groove aligns with the latch. - Attach cleaning rod
. - Insert the pencil case into the butt socket
. Place the cleaning cloth, brush, screwdriver and punch into the pencil case and close it with the lid, place the pencil case bottom into the butt socket and push it down so that the socket is closed with the lid. - Attach the magazine to the machine
. Holding the machine gun with your left hand by the neck of the butt or fore-end, insert the magazine hook into the receiver window with your right hand and turn the magazine toward you so that the latch jumps over the magazine support ledge.
About the dummy barrel
For this element you will need a cylindrical blank. You can make it yourself on a lathe or purchase a ready-made product in a store. The barrel must be equipped with a front sight. You will have to cut it out of wood yourself. In addition, the stock must be equipped with holes for the muzzle of the machine gun. They will turn out smooth if you work on a special drill stand. After the bore holes are ready, cylindrical blanks are inserted into them. Then the already turned and carefully sanded front sight is glued to the barrel using PVA.
The design and principle of operation of the Kalashnikov assault rifle AK, AKM, AK-47, AK-74, AK-103
The Kalashnikov assault rifle, originally created for a caliber of 7.62 mm, was transferred to low-impulse type cartridges in the 1970s, with bullets of a caliber reduced to 5.45 mm. to facilitate portable ammunition. Despite the fact that the production of 7.62 mm AK and AKM was curtailed long ago, so many of these weapons were produced that they are still in service in many third world countries. The general design of the 7.62 mm and 5.45 mm Kalashnikov assault rifles is identical.
About the design and operation of mechanisms
AK and AKM fire single or automatic, in short or long bursts, as well as continuously. The cartridges are supplied from a box-type magazine (the standard one has a capacity of 30 rounds). Automation is based on the use of the energy of powder gases, which are discharged from the barrel channel into the gas chamber.
By pulling the bolt frame back, the cartridge is fed into the barrel chamber, and the mechanism is ready to fire. The return spring is compressed, and when the bolt moves forward, the upper cartridge of the magazine falls into the barrel.
When the trigger is pulled, the sear releases it. The mainspring forces the trigger to rotate around the transverse axis and hits the firing pin, which breaks the cartridge primer and initiates ignition of the gunpowder in the cartridge case.
During firing, high gas pressure is formed in the barrel channel. They push the piston back. With each shot, the piston travels the required distance (25 mm), and excess powder gases are ejected through special holes.
In total, the Kalashnikov assault rifle consists of 95 parts. Its main parts: barrel with receiver (4-rifled); bolt group with bolt frame; trigger mechanism.
About the main parts of AK/AKM and their purpose
- The barrel (sets the direction and speed of the bullet) and the receiver (connects the barrel with the bolt and trigger mechanism, and is closed on top with a metal lid).
- The stock and pistol grip (provide the machine with ergonomics, convenience and naturalness in use).
- The bolt (sends a cartridge from the magazine into the chamber, breaks the cartridge primers and ejects the cartridges after firing); bolt frame with a gas piston (provides interaction between the bolt and the trigger mechanism).
- The return mechanism (moves the bolt frame and bolt from the front to the rear position).
- Gas tube (sets the movement of the gas piston).
- The fore-end and barrel guard are made of wood in older models and impact-resistant plastic in new ones (serves to comfortably position the shooter’s hands and protect them from burns during shooting).
- Magazine (for placing cartridges and quickly feeding them into the receiver).
- Muzzle compensator brake (reduces recoil energy when firing, increases accuracy of fire). Older models didn't have it.
- A bayonet is a universal tool attached to the barrel of a machine gun from below for working in close hand-to-hand combat. Also used as a knife, saw blade and metal scissors.
Disassembly and assembly procedure
First, the magazine is separated from the machine gun. The absence of a cartridge in the chamber is checked and the trigger is pressed in a control manner. Then a pencil case with a wiper, a brush, a screwdriver and a drift is removed from the butt socket. (For AKS, the pencil case is located in the pouch for equipped magazines). Remove the cleaning rod from the front of the weapon.
Next, the muzzle brake-compensator is separated from the front of the barrel (rotating counterclockwise). By moving forward and upward, it is separated from the machine gun and the receiver cover is removed. The return mechanism is removed from the bolt frame channel. The bolt frame is retracted all the way back, rises along with the bolt and is separated from the receiver.
The bolt is separated from the bolt frame: it is pulled back and rotated, and then pulled forward. The gas tube and the barrel lining are separated. The pencil case is put on the protrusion of the gas tube retainer, the retainer flag is rotated away from itself until it is vertical, and the gas tube is removed from the gas chamber pipe.
Assembly is carried out in reverse order. When disassembling and assembling the machine, it is necessary to place all parts on a table or mat, placing them strictly in the order of disassembly. Disassembly is carried out for preventive cleaning and lubrication of parts, ensuring their trouble-free operation. It is not recommended to completely disassemble the machine. It is used only after the weapon has been in water, snow, mud or ice for a long time.

AK-12
The most current assault rifle of the Kalashnikov family, the tests of which have not yet been completed. One of the most striking external changes is the use of Picatinny rails for attaching attachments. Unlike the AK-9, they are both on the fore-end and on top of the receiver. At the same time, the lower bar does not interfere with the installation of under-barrel grenade launchers - this option is retained. The AK-12 also has two short rails on the sides of the handguard and one on top of the gas chamber.
In addition, the butt of the machine gun is easily removed and can be folded in both directions. In addition to each, it is telescopic; the cheekpiece and butt plate are adjustable in height. There is also a variant of the machine gun with a stationary, lighter plastic butt.
The fire switch safety flag is duplicated on the left side; the machine gun can fire single, short series of three shots, and in mechanical mode. And in total, all the controls of the machine gun are made in such a way that a soldier can use them with one hand, including changing the magazine and pulling the bolt. By the way, a wide variety of magazines can be used, up to an experimental drum with 95 rounds
Presentation presentation on individual slides: 1 slide Description of the slide: Municipal budgetary educational institution "Verkhovskaya secondary school No. 1" Oryol region, Verkhovye village Production of a model - a copy of the Kalashnikov AK-74 assault rifle Performed by: 9th grade student. Ivan Andriyanov Head: special technology teacher Oleg Ivanovich Martynov, Verkhovye village, 2015 Slide 2 Slide 3 Slide description: Selection and justification of the plan idea I am in the 9th grade, I am interested in technology, the history of weapons, and I love tinkering. I really like the special technology lessons. I decided to prepare a creative plan and take part in the Special Technology Olympiad. The teacher recommended that the topic for the plan be the development of a product suitable for production by students in special technology lessons and in the “Skillful Hands” club. The product must be easy to manufacture, technologically advanced, made from available materials, and cheap to produce. When working on it, it should be used as much as possible in a wide range of different operations for processing wood and metal with hand tools and on machines. During lessons we usually made pointers, mallets, boxes, benches. mops, but that wasn’t very interesting. I thought that guys usually like to play war and are interested in weapons, and I decided to develop and make a model of some small arms. In addition, it will be suitable for a school detachment of Youth Army members. 1 4 slide Slide description: Goals and objectives Goal: To make an authentic, high-tech, inexpensive product, suitable for making by schoolchildren in special technology lessons and in a circle, needed for school. Objectives: 1. Learn to mentally imagine an object and graphically express it in the form of a technical drawing and drawing, work with design and technological documentation. 2.Know and correctly perform various technological operations for processing wood and metals. 3. Really evaluate your knowledge and knowledge. 2 5 slide Description of the slide: Selection of product options Having looked at several models of the AK assault rifle, I chose option No. 4 of the AK-74 model with a wooden butt, deciding that the model of this assault rifle, made of wood, would look more impressive. 1 2 3 4 3 6 slide Slide description: A short history of the creation of the machine gun “Weapons don’t kill, people kill.” M.T.Kalashnikov During the Great Patriotic War, the need arose to convert the main small arms of the Red Army to the 7.62 mm cartridge. The main advantage of such a cartridge is its sufficient destructive power at medium distances compared to pistol cartridges, and the lower weight of the intermediate cartridge compared to a rifle cartridge allows the warrior to carry more ammunition. Later the creation of an intermediate cartridge of 7.62 mm caliber. In 1943, vigorous development of small arms began, in which the most famous designers of the USSR took part. Kalashnikov also took part in the competition. Its development showed good results, which allowed it 4 7 slide Description of the slide: move to the 2nd stage of the competition. In 1947, Kalashnikov introduced a modified version of the assault rifle he had developed, which was later adopted in 1949. The first Kalashnikov assault rifles had two modifications: with a wooden non-folding stock (AK-47) and with a metal folding stock (AKS-47). Kalashnikov made a practical and reliable weapon. The merit of the developer is the optimal arrangement of time-tested special technologies into a complete example, one that meets every requirement. Despite the fact that the Kalashnikov assault rifle entered service with the SA back in 1949, due to Soviet secrecy, the weapon was introduced only in 1956. In the 50s, examples of medium small arms began to be replaced by Kalashnikov assault rifles. It soon became the main type of small arms in the allied countries of the USSR, as well as in Finland and some other countries. Such a rapidly growing popularity of the machine was associated with the simplicity and safety of the design. as well as the low cost of weapons. In the early 70s, the USSR began developing a new automatic cartridge of 5.45x39 caliber. In 1974, chambered for the 5.45 cartridge, the newest AK-74 assault rifle was adopted by the Soviet Army. More than 60 years have passed since the creation of the first version of the Kalashnikov assault rifle. The famous developer managed to achieve his goal: “to develop a weapon that would be clear to a common soldier.” Indeed, the Kalashnikov assault rifle is extremely popular 5 8 slide Description of the slide: on all continents. The Kalashnikov assault rifle is one of the most famous weapons in the world. It is in service with the armies of 106 countries. Recognized as the invention of the century and included in the Guinness Book of Records as the most common weapon in the world. For his assault rifle, Kalashnikov received the Stalin Prize of the first degree. 6 9 slide Description of slide: 10 slide Description of slide: Selection of materials To make my product, I used the most accessible and inexpensive material - wood, metal scraps, wire. For the receiver, magazine horn and handle, it is desirable to use birch, because its wood is dense, hard and does not have clearly defined annual layers, but pine and spruce are also suitable. For turning the barrel and gas tube, only birch should be used. Birch. It has a very uniform structure, a clear color, closer to white, occasionally with a yellowish tint. Used to make plywood, tool handles, furniture, etc. Spruce. The wood is white with a yellowish tint, knotty. Used for the manufacture of musical instruments and in construction. Pine. The wood is reddish-yellow and has a small number of knots. Used in the construction of bridges, carriages, flooring, etc. Tin. Galvanized sheet metal 0.2 mm thick, bends perfectly, is cut with scissors, and processed with a file. Used to make a trigger bracket, a translator lever, and a front sight. sighting bar. To finish the finished product, I used black enamel, and for the buttstock, a walnut wood texture. 8 11 slide Slide description: Selection of tools and equipment When making my product, I used the following tools and equipment: Pencil Ruler Scribbler Vernier caliper Square Carpenter's workbench Mechanic's workbench Drilling machine Lathe STD-120 Lathe TV-6 Electric drill Hacksaw Bench shears Rasp Planer Chisel Mallet Oobzik Fraser Creative sandpaper Brush 9 12 slide Description of the slide: Preparation of technological documentation I scrupulously studied the design and types of the Kalashnikov AK-74 assault rifle. Having removed all dimensions from a full-size metal model of a machine gun available in the life safety class, I, with the support of the teacher, developed a special technology and procedure for manufacturing individual parts, drew and cut out of cardboard samples of the body with the butt, magazine, and handle. Executed drawings and technological maps for the manufacture of the main parts of the machine. In the future, the samples will be used by other students to make a mock-up of the machine. 10 13 slide Description of slide: 14 slide Description of slide: Specification Receiver with butt. I decided to please the son of one of my excellent friends and make him a wooden toy. To my question: “what should I do?”, my friend answered immediately: “maybe some kind of pestle?” Not a bad idea, I thought, and started making weapons. True, I decided not to waste time on trifles and instead of the “pestle” I immediately made an automatic machine! Still, no matter how you turn it, every kid knows that a machine gun is sharper than a pistol! :)) I decided to take the mythical Kalashnikov as a basis. I want to say right away for all connoisseurs of modeling and accurate models: the task was to make a reliable and durable toy before everyone else, therefore I did not try to recreate the machine in all details, but made a conditional copy! A thick 50-gauge pine board was chosen as the building material. I easily took a pencil and sketched the silhouettes of the upcoming machine by hand, guided by a picture from the Internet. I don’t like any nails, brackets, or wires, so I decided to make the trigger out of wood too. It’s more reliable and nicer to the touch!
I immediately figured out and drew a mounting system for the store. The detail seems to be small, but very significant, without which the machine gun will not be a machine gun, but just... a fart for kids. Tea, if a machine gun has a non-removable magazine, then such a weapon is worthless! :))) The photo below shows prototypes of the upcoming store.
After that, I cut out the workpiece using an electric jigsaw. The result is a blank like this.
Later, I cut out the side “walls” of the machine gun from thin plywood, covering the magazine attachment point.
Once again I looked around the store. For it I used the same board as for the rod blank.
I sawed out and sharpened the corners with a file so that nothing would touch and the parts could move freely.
Next, on the milling table, I chamfered the butt and handle, so that I could then use a grinder to finish what I started and finally round the corners.
I glued the side walls with PVA glue.
I secured them with clamps and left them to dry.
I went through the corners with a router and the result was something more reminiscent of that same Kalashnikov! After that I polished everything with a sander.
Now you can work on the barrel of the machine gun. To do this, I used a cylindrical blank, previously purchased at a hardware store. At the same time, I cut out the barrel part, the front sight and drilled all the necessary holes.
For drilling I used a special drill stand. Without it, making an even and perpendicular hole is a task for those whose hands do not shake and have a diamond eye. I decided to make my life easier and took advantage of this comfortable device.
The barrel parts are ready, all that remains is to place them on PVA glue.
All details and dimensions are complete improvisation! I easily looked at the drawing of the machine and made it “approximately as in the picture.” As a result, it turned out well. What do they say there? You can’t praise yourself...))
I adjusted the magazine and lo and behold, a mythical machine gun appeared in front of me, one that came out quite similar to the original. True, there will probably be critics and dissatisfied people, but excuse me here, guys, it was possible, it was possible! :))
I know that many would paint the machine the way it should be in the original, I have seen how some use black nitro paint, and the wood is actually invariably coated with a thick layer of varnish. I am a special person in this matter. Covering the texture of wood with paint and covering up all the tactile sensations it gives with varnish - for me, this is like pasting wallpaper on a beautiful fresco! :)) But in no case do I pretend to be the ultimate truth, I do everything as I see fit, according to my own understanding and taste!
There remains a small detail to secure the magazine. For this I used small magnets. Because I didn’t have intentionally purchased ones at hand, I took them out of an old children’s construction set, from which my children each left a couple of parts. The rest was lost somewhere. The mythical machine gun of all times is the AK 47 made of paper. Well, it’s time to arm yourself with a worthy weapon, the glory of our vast homeland - the AK 47 assault rifle (Kalashnikov assault rifle). You have the opportunity to glue together a deadly AK 47 with your own hands and put every dean's office, school, office, neighbors on the ears... emphasize what needs to be emphasized. And if the machine is further strengthened and painted, then it will be an absolute blast!
The development of an AK 47 assault rifle from paper takes 10 pages in pepakura and, compared to analogues, is not so difficult to assemble. True, there is something to bend over with tweezers at the ready. This specimen is a must-have for every gun connoisseur.
We are glad to present you another version of the Kalashnikov assault rifle made from paper. This time it came to us from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The model has its own characteristics and is even visually slightly different from the first version. It takes up 12 pages, but is 7 cm shorter than the first one. For many, making this version of the Kalashnikov assault rifle with your own hands will not only be easier, but also cooler due to the good textures.
